State Rep. Marcia Morey of Durham County is one of the many experts who've expressed concerns about how the state budget debate played out. While she's happy about raises that some teachers will get, she's concerned about those teachers and state employees who will receive a relative pittance. And as Morey also pointed out to Newline during an extended conversation this past week, there were a lot of other very important (and in some instances deeply concerning) provisions in the budget – some of which have only come to light in recent days as she and other lawmakers and advocates have finally gotten a chance to fully dissect the hurriedly enacted 600-plus page document. In Part Two of our discussion, we examined some other policy matters of importance as the legislature prepares to return to Raleigh in late July, including the recent and troubling spate of late-night teen takeovers in some communities that have raised discussion of issues like curfews and gun regulation, as well as ongoing Republican efforts to further alter state voting laws and election oversight for partisan purposes. Heartwarming rescue of thousands of beagles bred for research, involving Trump Administration officials. Epoch Times investigative reporter Nannette Holt on shutting down puppy mills, plus Florida's aggressive campaigns to stop ‘teen takeovers,' including law enforcement and prosecutors having success reducing violence.
Charlotte City Council is looking for ways to address teen takeovers and may implement a stricter curfew. There's a new wrinkle in the I-77 toll lane saga. South Carolina U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham's sister has been appointed to fill his seat in Congress, and a parasitic illness has arrived in North Carolina.
Are the kids actually alright? From beach closures to assaults, is it just youth delinquency or is it something deeper? It usually starts with a social media post that results in thousands of teens descending on one spot. And as you might imagine, all those teenagers together tend to result in chaos galore. Ahead of the weekend, police in Syracuse are actively warning parents of a "teen takeover" that's rumored to happen. Inside Sources discusses the dangers of unsupervised teenage hijinks and the potential legal consequences that could follow.

A disturbing new trend is spreading across America: "teen takeovers," where hundreds—and in some cases thousands—of teenagers organize through social media to descend on cities, overwhelm police, and create chaos. In this episode of The Tudor Dixon Podcast, Tudor sits down with Greenville, North Carolina Mayor P.J. Connolly to discuss how his city became one of the latest targets—and the decisive actions local leaders took to stop it. Mayor Connolly explains how TikTok and other social media platforms are fueling these gatherings, why strong leadership and parental accountability matter, and how Greenville's curfew policy dramatically reduced the problem almost overnight. Tudor and Mayor Connolly also discuss the broader cultural questions surrounding parenting, mentorship, law enforcement, faith, and the responsibility communities have in guiding the next generation.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
They locked kids inside for two years. Now the bill is due. Teen takeovers are exploding, Tampa, Detroit, Houston, Milwaukee. 22 arrested at Curtis Hixon Park, some as young as 12. Cities are throwing curfews at the problem. It won't work, because nobody's asking WHY. The Real Story: teen hopelessness up 62%. A generation stripped of school, sports, and structure then handed a phone and an audience. This is the psychology of the mob, the fallout of lockdowns, and the one fix nobody's talking about. We break down the foundational pillars necessary to preserve American freedom, focusing on free-market economics and private property rights. Guest host Kathy Barnett sits in for Dawn Stensland to deliver a powerful message on civic formation and the urgent need to pass American values down to the next generation. We react to the dangerous trend of urban "teen takeovers," detailing how these chaotic events destroy businesses, disrupt communities, and threaten the absolute legitimacy of private property if citizens normalize the lawlessness. The crew welcomes decorated Vietnam veteran and global pastor Bill Devlin, who shares his incredible life journey from being orphaned in New Jersey to surviving a bomb attack in the U.S. Navy. Pastor Devlin discusses his extensive missionary work providing humanitarian aid to persecuted communities in over 16 countries, including Iraq, Nigeria, and Cuba. He notes that despite America's internal political struggles, people living in international refugee camps still see this nation as the ultimate land of the free and home of the brave. We dive deep into how radical socialist agendas seek to expand government control over production, pricing, and distribution to dismantle our shared inheritance. Kathy draws a stark comparison between the current political trajectory of the United States and the social climate in the United Kingdom, warning listeners not to act like a frog in slowly boiling water while radical elements entrench themselves in high places. We wrap up with inspiring calls from listeners reflecting on their profound gratitude for American history and the collective responsibility to defend the nation's true character.

Some mornings you wake up and wonder, "What's going to happen today?" And then there are mornings like this where the answer is apparently: everything. This daily comedy show starts with Lern getting hit by one of the most forbidden questions in human history when someone asks if she's expecting. Spoiler alert: she is not. But it launches an entire conversation about things you should absolutely never say to another person unless your goal is to spend the next month replaying the moment in your head. Then we're celebrating radio legend John Ulett's incredible milestone and somehow transition into discussing giant American flags, free soda refills, toasted ravioli diplomacy, and why Europeans are simultaneously fascinated and terrified by our ability to drive through literally everything. Need a prescription? A cheeseburger? Banking services? America says, "Stay in your car, we got this."Moon gives us the soccer breakdown as the World Cup takes over the country, and the gang debates what St. Louis would make international visitors eat first. Toasted ravioli? Emo's? Gooey butter cake? Or should we just hand everyone ranch dressing and let them figure it out?Meanwhile, Riz escorts his daughter to a sold-out Megan Moroney concert and unexpectedly finds himself in the middle of a downtown police operation stopping a social media-organized teen takeover. Nothing says father-daughter bonding quite like hundreds of girls in pink cowboy boots and tactical officers standing nearby. Also on today's episode:Why Manchester Road is a personality testWhether giant American flags indicate patriotism or compensationWhy Europeans think we're suspiciously friendlyThe secret menu item at Emo's that may convert even the skepticsThe ongoing debate about St. Louis pizzaWhy every football game in America somehow becomes an all-day eventBasically, this daily comedy show is what happens when weird news, hometown pride, accidental insults, and complete chaos all end up in the same room. Thanks for hanging out with another daily comedy show featuring the only morning crew capable of turning a country concert pickup into a discussion about global cultural differences and fried pasta.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Former Missouri Senator John Lamping joins Ryan Wrecker and Kim St. Onge to discuss the growing problem of teen takeovers, youth crime, and the role prosecutors play in enforcing the law. Lamping explains why strong laws alone are not enough without prosecutors willing to pursue charges and weighs in on whether parents should face consequences when minors are involved in disruptive incidents. The conversation also turns to Amendment 5 and Missouri's effort to move toward eliminating the state income tax. Lamping discusses the political hurdles facing the proposal, arguments from supporters and opponents, the economic advantages of no-income-tax states, and why Governor Mike Kehoe continues to champion the issue as part of Missouri's long-term economic strategy.
John Puls, a psychotherapist and clinical social worker who works with teens and young adults, joins Megan Lynch. Why are seemingly more teens taking part in 'takeovers', some of which become violent? 'They want to experience this rush,' and gain more attention, says Puls. 'There's a group-think mentality' when they're are with each other explains Puls, 'the off-switch doesn't exist.'
Kim St. Onge discusses the recent shooting incident at West County Mall and what it says about public safety, parental responsibility, and the future of shopping malls in the St. Louis area.

Teen takeovers are already the bane of summer for law enforcement. But what's the answer. We dive in. And then there's a lesson in soccer for the World Cup and an exploration of why so many tickets are still available.

The Marc Cox Morning Show welcomes the brand new St. Louis County Police Chief Juan Cox — and he wastes zero time getting to the hard stuff. Fresh off his promotion after 30 years rising through the ranks, Chief Cox opens up about the crisis that keeps him up at night — teenage takeovers that pop up faster than his department can respond, repeat juvenile offenders who are back on the street corners before the ink dries on their paperwork, and a family court system that keeps tying law enforcement's hands. He shares a story from his undercover days that will make your jaw drop and tells Marc exactly what he wants to see change. Plus the department is facing budget cuts, an ambitious drone program on hold, and a tax increase on the August ballot. This is the kind of straight talk from law enforcement that conservatives have been waiting to hear — and only The Marc Cox Morning Show delivers it first.
