PERRIN FERTHA and VEL SARTHA, two characters with tragic relationships. One built on the cultural tradition of an arranged marriage, the other built on rebellion and love. Perrin and Mon. Vel and Cinta. Two relationships broken, by the Rebellion in completely different ways.Perrin is a hedonist, whose characterization in Season 1 made him seem antagonistic and loveless towards Mon. During Season 2 that perception has shifted to something more nuanced, and thanks to revelations of a deleted scene, our impression of Perrin might be more complicated.Vel is a warrior, like Cinta. Both are committed to the cause and torn apart by it. A relationship strongly implied in Season 1 was finally sealed with a kiss in Season 2 with Lucasfilm finally deciding to "say gay". As soon as we had this lovers return, Cinta was taken from us by a stray blaster bolt from a foolish boy.Today we take a deep dive into these two characters and their arcs during Andor S2. Join us as we try to hear the music beneath the songs of Perrin and Vel and their tragic loves.• • •Triad of the Force is a channel which was featured on the Podcast Stage at Star Wars Celebration 2022 and 2023, featuring Nani and Gus, lifelong Puerto Rican friends who after years of discussing the media they love, came together and created their show. Andor S2 is over, but not for us! We continue to celebrate this monumental series as we delve into topics or characters we didn't have enough time to discuss during our regular coverage. Today we discuss everyone's favorite anarcho-rebel, SAW GERRERA, and the unsung hero: the ISB double-agent, LONNI JUNG.In a field full of heroes, these two stand out for their unconventional approaches to rebellion. While Saw's bombastic and "chaotic" approach to his fight of the Empire drew enemies within allies, Lonni's quiet and ultimately quiet contributions to the Alliance cannot be overstated. Along with Nemik's call to rebellion through his manifesto, these two characters' sacrifice will always be remembered!• • •Triad of the Force is a channel which was featured on the Podcast Stage at Star Wars Celebration 2022 and 2023, featuring Nani and Gus, lifelong Puerto Rican friends who after years of discussing the media they love, came together and created their show. In the briefing room of Home One, Caroline Blakiston gave life to Mon Mothma. Twenty years later, Genevieve O'Reilly would be brought to give new life to this character in Revenge Of The Sith, only to have those scenes cut. Sometimes life has surprises, and more than a decade later Genevieve would be able to bring back this character for Rogue One, and soon after voice it in Star Wars Rebels.Who knew a spinoff series for Rogue One based on Diego Luna's Cassian Andor would happen, and that Genevieve would once again be asked to reprise the role of Mon Mothma, only this time with more depth and complexity than we've ever had for the character. Today we're joined by Scotty Holiday, as we continue our journey of anticipation for Andor season 2 by taking a look back at the Mon Mothma from the beloved Rebels, her characterization in that show, and how Andor has re-contextualized her scenes and motivations.• • •Triad of the Force is a channel which was featured on the Podcast Stage at Star Wars Celebration 2022 and 2023, featuring Nani and Gus, lifelong Puerto Rican friends who after years of discussing the media they love, came together and created their show. As we approach the final season of Andor, there is one character we've been expecting (and hoping) to see: the original Space-Papi, BAIL ORGANA played by the incomparable Jimmy Smits!Ever since his surprise appearance in Rogue One, and a larger and heartfelt role in Obi-Wan Kenobi, we've been wanting more and more of the Alderaanian senator. Serendipitously, a new trailer for Andor has dropped and our minds are racing! There's one scene in particular that has our speculation bordering on irresponsible! We discuss this new trailer and speculate why Bail Organa seems like a certainty in this series and what his potential role could be. We await the return of the king!• • •Triad of the Force is a channel which was featured on the Podcast Stage at Star Wars Celebration 2022 and 2023, featuring Nani and Gus, lifelong Puerto Rican friends who after years of discussing the media they love, came together and created their show. After a long time of waiting, Lucasfilm has finally revealed the Panels for the convention and there is a lot to discuss. We were honestly split 50/50 by the announcements, on the one hand, many were expected, on the other, there were some glaring omissions. Today, we discuss the panels announced that stuck out to us, consider the panels we thought would've happened but aren't, and speculate about what announcements about new films, series, or books that could be revealed at these panels.Additionally, we celebrate all the fellow podcasters who were deservingly chosen to present their passions in the various fan stages!• • •Triad of the Force is a channel which was featured on the Podcast Stage at Star Wars Celebration 2022 and 2023, featuring Nani and Gus, lifelong Puerto Rican friends who after years of discussing the media they love, came together and created their show. Kassa, a child from Kenari, becomes Cassian Andor, a hero of the Rebellion. Season 2 of Andor will complete his story, a story that began in Rogue One almost ten years ago in 2016.We've already gotten a trailer for Season 2, but now Lucasfilm has release a Special Look which reveals so many more goodies that await us! Today, we react to it all and discuss our expectations of what Season 2 holds for us, but also reminisce about how special and meaningful the first season was for us. Additionally, what kind of Star Wars fans would we be if we didn't speculate (responsibly) a little?• • •Triad of the Force is a channel which was featured on the Podcast Stage at Star Wars Celebration 2022 and 2023, featuring Nani and Gus, lifelong Puerto Rican friends who after years of discussing the media they love, came together and created their show. Once upon a time, in a Galaxy far far away, Anakin Skywalker asked Qui Gon Jinn, "I've been wondering, what are Midi-Chlorians?" Ever since then, Star Wars fandom has not been the same, debating the concept of a biological explanation to the mystical Force and whether it belongs in the canon. In the post-George era, Lucasfilm has shied away from even mentioning Midi-Chlorians, often using M-Count until finally The Bad Batch finally courageously mentioned them explicitly.Today, in what is a little preview of what Star Wars Celebration Japan has in store for us, Professor Scotty Jayro from The Bombadcast joins us to talk about his University Stage panel, a masterclass presentation which will expand on his video essay, Understanding The Importance of Midi-chlorians & The Force. It is truly an insightful and meaningful discussion about our place in this galaxy and our symbiosis with everything and everyone.Additionally, Lucasfilm decided to drop the Andor Season 2 trailer the same day we recorded this so of course we needed to react and discuss it!• • •Triad of the Force is a channel which was featured on the Podcast Stage at Star Wars Celebration 2022 and 2023, featuring Nani and Gus, lifelong Puerto Rican friends who after years of discussing the media they love, came together and created their show. There is unrest in the Galactic Senate, the Republic is crumbling! Like George told us, "Democracies aren't overthrown; they're given away," and it seems these days we're living through what he warned us about. In anticipation of Andor season 2, and the 20th anniversary of Revenge Of The Sith, we look back at deleted scenes from the latter which feature Padmé and the Delegation of 2000! These scenes feature the seeds of Rebellion, Puerto Rican space-papi Jimmy Smits, and the first appearance of Genevieve O'Reilly as Mon Mothma. These scenes give so much important depth and context to Padmés journey, and help flesh-out the political landscape of the Republic's downfall, but they also eerily talk to us about the realities we're currently going through. George Lucas knew what he was talking about, and today we continue his conversation. • • •Triad of the Force is a channel which was featured on the Podcast Stage at Star Wars Celebration 2022 and 2023, featuring Nani and Gus, lifelong Puerto Rican friends who after years of discussing the media they love, came together and created their show. Season 6 continues! We are a part of Star Wars Podcast Day for our fourth year in a row! Today, we celebrate the 26th anniversary of the very first Star Wars podcast: Jedi Talk, which premiered in 1999. . On our premiere episode, we discussed the rise and fall of the Galactic Empire with Dr. Chris Kempshall, and now we're witnessing life imitating art. Andrés Alvarez from Sithty Minutes joins us as guest host to chat about a whirlwind of things! From some quick news regarding updates on Rey's New Jedi Order film with the hiring of George Nolfi as writer, to a review of Alex Segura's The Battle of Jakku comic book series, we dissect our expectations for Star Wars in 2025 and how the battles in pages and screens help us process the current events we're going through. . Andrés brings his unique political perspective on how we interpret our space-opera stories, but also on how we confront and face social and political upheavals. Join us as we find strength, comfort, and joy in Star Wars and continue to energize our communal bonds. We hope you enjoy this one and continue being part of our community! . #StarWarsPodcastDay #SWPD2025 • • • Triad of the Force is a channel which was featured on the Podcast Stage at Star Wars Celebration 2022 and 2023, featuring Nani and Gus, lifelong Puerto Rican friends who after years of discussing the media they love, came together and created their show. SEASON 6 STARTS NOW! Can you believe that this year, Triad Of The Force turns 5 years old?! It's amazing how time flies, and we can't wait to celebrate this milestone. . To kick things we're so excited to present our interview with DR. CHRIS KEMPSHALL, historian and author of the great book Star Wars: The Rise And Fall Of The Galactic Empire! 2025 has begun with some big political changes and it's serendipitous that we release this episode this week. We look into this historical tome of Star Wars lore and find the lessons it can teach us about the world we've seen and are currently living in. . This was such an insightful and fun discussion and hopefully we can make this a duology with a discussion of Dr. Kempshall's other Star Wars book The History and Politics of Star Wars in a future episode! . What is the future of Star Wars films? A recent article from The Hollywood Reporter claims that Rey Skywalker will have a pivotal role in the franchise beyond her stand-alone film directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. Reportedly, Simon Kinberg will be developing a new trilogy, and while it's not known if it'll continue the Skywalker Saga, Rey will be a central figure. We discuss our skepticism on any future Star Wars film happening due to so many announcements that amount to nothing, but focus on our excitement for more Rey stories and the amazing potential her character has for the saga. One thing is for sure, billionaires, and corporate interests in the era of streaming have made Star Wars reliant on a well of nostalgia that might be drying up. • • • Triad of the Force is a channel which was featured on the Podcast Stage at Star Wars Celebration 2022 and 2023, featuring Nani and Gus, lifelong Puerto Rican friends who after years of discussing the media they love, came together and created their show. Election Day has come and gone, and unfortunately the results weren't what we were hoping for. We reckon with the uncertainty we encounter, with results both in the USA and Puerto Rico that will change everyone's life. We talk about what that means to us and how we're dealing and facing it. On a hopeful note, we also discuss the love-letter to the Maestro, Music By John Williams. A beautiful documentary that presents the life of a gifted individual who has brought melodies of joy to countless people and whose gift will resonate in our ears and hearts for an eternity to come. In these uncertain times we choose HOPE, and we hope you join us in that choice. • • • Triad of the Force is a channel which was featured on the Podcast Stage at Star Wars Celebration 2022 and 2023, featuring Nani and Gus, lifelong Puerto Rican friends who after years of discussing the media they love, came together and created their show. Today is Election Day and we have thoughts. After some disrespectful "jokes" were made at the expense of Puerto Rico and it's people, we decide to discuss our views about everything that's going on, both in the political climate of the USA and the presidential election, along with the election also happening in our island of Puerto Rico. Skeleton Crew is also on the horizon which, based on the trailer, will provide us with some joyful Amblin-esque fun that is desperately needed in a hyper-political and stressful environment. One thing is certain, we ALL must make our voices heard. Do your civic duty and GO VOTE! • • • Triad of the Force is a channel which was featured on the Podcast Stage at Star Wars Celebration 2022 and 2023, featuring Nani and Gus, lifelong Puerto Rican friends who after years of discussing the media they love, came together and created their show. Spooky season is upon us! It's been a while since we've talked about other 'nerd related media', so today we felt it appropriate to get scary and discuss our favorite horror movies. From The Shining to Wes Craven's New Nightmare we chat about our journeys in this scary genre discovering what we prefer, from 90s teen horror to 80s slashers and beyond. We can't discuss all of this without brainstorming if horror is an appropriate genre for Star Wars of course. Happy Halloween! • • • Triad of the Force is a channel which was featured on the Podcast Stage at Star Wars Celebration 2022 and 2023, featuring Nani and Gus, lifelong Puerto Rican friends who after years of discussing the media they love, came together and created their show. NANI RETURNS! After a long couple of months of studying for the bar, Nani has completed her mission and has returned to our galaxy. As many know, she has been sequestered and as such has not been able to catch up on current (Star Wars) events with the state of fandom, and much less up-to-date with movies and TV. Today we catch up and bring her up-to-speed with everything that has happened, and despite the residual toxicity from The Acolyte's aftermath, we find some joy discussing the LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy special. Congratulations to Nani for taking the bar! Everybody is excited to have you back! • • • Triad of the Force is a channel which was featured on the Podcast Stage at Star Wars Celebration 2022 and 2023, featuring Nani and Gus, lifelong Puerto Rican friends who after years of discussing the media they love, came together and created their show.
