It all began with a vision of a better way After spending nearly 7 years working in hostile environments around the globe, PracMed NZ's founder, Simon Carkeek, returned home and started working in industry training. He saw firsthand how poor the quality training was in NZ, and how many organisations treat courses as ‘tick-the-box' exercises only for compliance. He knew that in order to save more New Zealanders from preventable death, Kiwis needed to be given the knowledge and opportunity for engaging, relevant training. His goal is to ensure there are more competent and confident responders, and less qualified witnesses. In 2018, PracMed NZ was born. https://pracmednz.com/ Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn If you or a loved one have some aches and pains setting in, or an injury that needs support to heal, consider topping up your body with Canes Deer Velvet. As a fan of the sport, I was excited to speak with the following two athletes. Steph Davies won the British Olympic marathon trials and qualified for the Tokyo Olympics and will represent Great Britain, she finished in 2:27:16 (this interview starts at 2:45). Aoife Cooke won the Cheshire Elite Marathon and qualified for the Tokyo Olympics and will represent Ireland, she finished in 2:28:36 (this interview starts at 24:17). To listen to the previous conversation with Aoife check out episode 12. Both athletes overcame different challenges within their running careers, which can get forgotten when both athletes looked in such good form earning the Olympic marathon qualifying times. In both conversations we dive into the training build up, the race, and the work leading towards Olympics. I wish them both a strong Olympic build up and great marathon race experience. ————————————————————— The links are: Steph: @steph_davis26 Aoife: @aoifecookefitness Aoife’s gofundme page to support her Olympic buildup. This week the Two Men on the Run are flying solo and are catching up on a lot of changes from lifting of some lockdown measures, meaning group training and racing are back. Matt talks us through his 14:18 PB at the Podium 5k and the men discuss Beth Potters World Best and Unofficial World Record of 14:41 at the same event. Matt finally got a chance to talk Jon-Jo through the British Olympic Marathon trials which saw an amazing run from Chris Thompson and Steph Davies, while also sadly prevents a previous podcast guest from making the Olympic Marathon team. And Matt has a rant about the British 'glass half empty' mentality to wrap up the show.
Why is today's generation viewing money and property differently to previous generations? With our culture's increasing favourability around renting, a desire for flexibility and the nature of our fast economy, young people have been unshackling from traditional ideologies on stability, debt and buying. This week, Domenic Nesci, Steph Davies and Jody Wang share their personal family situations and what they learned and unlearned around money, property and lifestyle from their upbringing. Topics include: - How our families and culture affect the way we view property, money and investing - Understanding that circumstances are changing, and finding which lessons are still relevant - The team's personal reflections and learnings Learn more at https://wealthi.com.au

So please lean in and enjoy this conversation with Steph and Reeda.
In such a time of uncertainty and both personal and professional challenges, how can HR teams keep their line managers positively engaged, especially when so many are remote managing (possibly for the first time)? Danny Harmer from Aviva and Steph Davies from Laughology talk to the LACE Partners team on what they've seen in recent months.
Today on the podcast we feature 3 Ryerson students discussing how they have been managing both their nutrition and self care during the pandemic.
