It's been too long since we shared a crab cake chat with Baltimore lawyer Steve Miles, whose television advertising and advocacy for regular humans four decades ago is well remembered around town. Here at Faidley's, Nestor and the former assistant state's attorney "talk about it" in discussing the state of the world and issues, solutions and the law in America amidst Trump's obvious criminality and protection by Congress. The post Steve Miles and Nestor discuss the state of the world and talk about issues, solutions and the law in America first appeared on Baltimore Positive WNST.
Attorney Steve Miles tells Nestor why he's still in Baltimore as he celebrates his 83rd birthday with us at Faidley's Seafood on the Maryland Crab Cake Tour. Nothing better than spending time with the wisdom of old friends who never seem to age at all. Gina Fugina is a passionate female Spanish wine importer and the Owner of Able Beverage LLC, a Maine-based Spanish wine import company. Able Beverage imports high-quality biodynamic, vegan, and certified organic Spanish wines to more than 15 states, including Maine, California, New York, Colorado, and New Jersey. Gina is also the owner of her sip for a cure brand, pALS CAVA. She was inspired by a friend's fight against ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) and runs the company by the motto, “Sip For A Cure.” Gina's passion for the wine business and experience came from her time working with Steve Miles as the Operations Manager for Steve Miles Selections. In this episode… Have you ever wondered about the role of a wine importer? The role of an importer is associated with buying and selling wine, but how does an independent importer select a bottle? What are these factors, and what role do they play in wine selection? An importer deals with more than just suppliers. They establish relationships with wineries, need to understand logistics and compliance, and know how to prepare a delectable portfolio of wines. Gina Fugina started her own brand based on a passion and love for Spanish wines, and she has become an industry pioneer — in sparkling wine and giving back. Inspired by a personal friend and mentor, she shows how a wine-loving community can make a difference. On this episode of The Alexi Cashen Podcast, hear from Gina Fugina, Owner of Able Beverage and pALS Cava, as she details creating a unique experience from imported wine from Spain. Gina talks about her journey into the alcohol beverage industry, lessons she's learned in the process of scaling her brand, and the inspiration behind her “Sip For A Cure” motto.

Mighty Blue On The Appalachian Trail: The Ultimate Mid-Life Crisis
Steve Barbour is the Executive Director of the Sheltowee Trace Association, and our guest this week. Steve hiked the Appalachian Trail in the mid-2000s, and has nearly completed a second section thru-hike with just New Hampshire and Maine to go. But it is his work with the STA that especially interested me. We had an informative and fun conversation about this 340 plus-mile trail, as well as an explanation of an innovative way to promote the trail and introduce the novice hiker to it. If you'd like to learn more about the trail itself, you can go to http://www.sheltoweetrace.org/, while you can learn more about the Hiker Challenge that we talk about at https://sheltoweetrace.org/hiker-challenge We also talked about the phenomenon of Steve Miles, which is discussed in depth at https://bookhiker.com/2020/02/27/scientific-observations-and-exploration-of-the-unexplained-phenomenon-of-steve-miles/?fbclid=IwAR3LVoWlAvIYzrby4IKKi6Pvir__CWyfN5-uxDxxg-m1WuIHX1bswlWAjtQ Our Class of 2022 continues to grow, with Hugh and Kerry Ickrath chatting with me today. I met Hugh on my 2019 hike when he kindly brought me trail magic, then I met both of them just over a year ago at our Woods Hole Weekend. As you'll hear, Hugh and Kerry are planning a rather unique experience. And then, the last chapter of Just Passin' Thru!! It may have taken me the entire book to give you the correct title but, in case you've been looking for it on Amazon, here's the link, https://www.amazon.com/Just-Passin-Thru-Appalachian-Unforgettable-ebook/dp/B004X19L84/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2ERSWZS2V7RJ8&keywords=just+passin%27+thru&qid=1642621367&s=digital-text&sprefix=just+passin%27+thru%2Cdigital-text%2C80&sr=1-1 If you like what we're doing on the Hiking Radio Network, and want to see our shows continue, please consider supporting us with either a one-off or monthly donation. Recent events have shown that peace is a rare commodity in the world around us, but it it also causes us to realize that we often don't experience peace within us. In Philippians 4:4-9 Christians are commanded to be anxious for nothing. What does it mean to have peace, how do we access it and what is the secret of keeping it?

When Adelaide launches its own Monopoly Board Game this year, please let it not be cosmetically Adelaide but roots-and-all Adelaide. That's why we're offering this episode to sway the powers-that-be to transform Monopoly away from the 'bored' game and into the board game for South Australia. We find out why it is so with Ian Brookes, who opens our eyes and polishes our rings (well, at least our understanding about rings). In Adelaide's Yesterdays, we get hot and cross about Easter via a letter to the editor from 1952. The wine this week blows us away - bravo to Michael and the team at Tenafeate Creek Wines.
