As a child Suzanne Rogers was fascinated by the interactions between humans and non-human animals. With a career in animal welfare, she’s had plenty of time to observe not just animal behaviour but human behaviour as well. So with a deep desire to understand human behaviour towards animals, Suzanne founded the Human Behaviour Change for Animals Initiative. In this episode of MHP, Suzanne discusses the Initiative and shares her insights into the complexities around human behaviour change not just for animals but for ourselves as well. She chats about everything from her love of TED talks, why she dislikes bad TV and the impact the film Blackfish had on audiences worldwide. And she also explains how sometimes education and awareness doesn’t always lead to behaviour change.Suzanne Rogers is an animal welfare consultant, equine behaviourist and the founder of Human Behaviour Change for Animals. A former science journalist with a degree in microbiology, Suzanne has worked for numerous animal welfare organizations including World Animal Protection. She is also the co-founder of Change For Animals Foundation and founder of Learning About Animals. NBC's classic soap "Days of Our Lives" hit the airwaves in November 1965, and forty-five years later, the show is still cooking with gas, and to help mark the soap's landmark anniversary, a quartet of the series' stars --- JAMES REYNOLDS (Salem's top cop Abe Carver), ARIANNE ZUCKER (scheming bad girl Nicole Walker), JUDI EVANS (family gal Adrienne Johnson Kiriakis), and SUZANNE ROGERS (heart-of-gold grandmother Maggie Horton) --- are stopping by the Buzz to reminisce about the show's glorious past, and to offer a sneak peek at the next forty-five years in the life of Salem, U.S.A.!
Alex Ko, from Billy Elliot the Musical on B'Way will chat re: appearing on NBC's SHALL WE DANCE ON ICE show, airs November 7 from 4 - 6 pm (eastern). And Suzanne Rogers, who stars as "Maggie Horton," on Days of Our Lives will our third guest.
Suzanne Rogers joined the cast of "Days of our Lives" in July 1973, and six years later won an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Maggie Horton. Rogers began her career at the age of 17 when she left her hometown of Colonial Heights, Virginia for New York City. She joined the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall and starred on Broadway with Katharine Hepburn and Alexis Smith. This is where she was introduced to a casting director who brought her in for a screen test. It was eventually sent over to DAYS, and the character of Maggie Horton was born. Rogers dedicates much of her spare time to helping people afflicted with myasthenia gravis, a rare muscle disease with which she was diagnosed in 1984. She is currently in remission and lives a strong and healthy life.
Maulik Pancholy, stars as "Jonathan," Jack's (Alec Baldwin's) affable but trustworthy assistant. Second guest will be Judi Evans, who stars as "Adrienne" on Days of Our Lives.
Suzanne Rogers, Maggie Horton from NBC Daytime's Days of our Lives, will be making an appearance for the first time on BuzzWorthy Radio! A former Rockette, Rogers started with the show in 1973. Her character was killed off in 2003, the third victim of the Salem Stalker story arc. The storyline was controversial, and resulted in the firing of nine veteran actors over the course of a year. Eventually, executive producer Ken Corday rehired all of the fired actors with new contracts. The storyline was explained as being a hoax. Rogers is the only current cast member on Days to have won an Emmy in a competitive category. Rogers was diagnosed with the rare muscle disease myasthenia gravis in 1984, but is currently in remission. Later, Rogers insisted that her character, Maggie, be diagnosed with the same disease on the show, in order to educate viewers.

Vivan tells Victor she's seen Laurence on Days of our Lives and he warns her to stay away from Melanie. Carly comes close to telling Melanie the truth. Is there hope for Rafe and Sami or will EJ get in the way? Arianna discovers Anna and her connection to EJ, but will she figure it out? Suzanne Rogers continues to hit it out of the park.
