Welcome to episode 37 of the Lovecars On The Grid Podcast! Paul Woodman and Tiff Needell once again bring us the latest motorsport updates from around the World! This week, we're crowning two FIA World Champions in both World Touring Cars and World Rally Cross. We look at a rally event in the UK, but we start with some sad news. Sir Frank Williams sadly passed away, a real tragedy and our thoughts are with the Williams family. Listen to Tiff's memories of Sir Frank! World Touring Cars took place in Russia this weekend, for the Race of Russia at the Sochi Olympic Park. Ex-British Touring Car driver, Rob Huff took the win, becoming the 12th different driver to win in the 16 races in his Cupra, but the Championship win went to Yann Ehrlacher in his Lynk and Co car. We also saw World Rally Cross this weekend, with it's season finale taking place at the Nurburgring in Germany. Swedish driver, Johan Kristoffersson took the Championship win, after his rival Timmy Hansen was disqualified from the final. This weekend also saw the Roger Albert Clark Rally take place in the UK, with drivers such as Top Gear star, Chris Harris! Snow and bad weather resulted in drivers getting stuck and entire stages being called off. Unfortunately, the weather also brought an early end to the event, too. Next weekend, we have the penultimate race in Formula 1 in Saudi Arabia. The Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen battle continues! Formula 2 will follow, with Oscar Piastri expected to take his Championship win, ahead of rival Guanyu Zhou, who already has a seat with Alfa Romeo in Formula 1 next year! Catie Munnings' rise has been as rapid as her pace behind the wheel, and whether it's debuting in the European Rally Championship while still taking her final-year exams or becoming a TV presenter to fund her racing career, there's nothing she does by half measures. In 2021 she's had a new reason to go flat out, taking up a position as one of Andretti United's drivers in the inaugural Extreme E season, and with Timmy Hansen she became a race winner in Greenland. James and Michael caught up with Catie after the Arctic X Prix to talk about that victory and her newfound appreciation for pizza dough. Since we now live in a world created by constant brand consultant input, however, the company has announced they are branching out LiveWire into an entire separate electric motorcycle sub-brand" says Gear Patrol: "Harley-Davidson says LiveWire will "draw on its DNA as an agile disruptor from the lineage of Harley-Davidson," whatever that means. Per Harley, the new LiveWire entity will have a virtual headquarters paired with "initial hubs" in Silicon Valley and Harley-Davidson's home, Milwaukee. Livewire will launch its first new branded electric motorcycle on July 8th. LiveWire will target new buyers in a younger urban market. The event will provide an opportunity to see the cutting-edge electric vehicles – which are set to face off in the first-ever FIA electric rallycross championship this season – race wheel-to-wheel. Multiple World Rally Champion Marcus Grönholm will join the likes of World Rallycross title-winners Johan Kristoffersson and Timmy Hansen in the inaugural Superteam Challenge while RX2e test driver Oliver Eriksson, who is a double RX2 champion and 2020 RallyX Nordic Supercar title-winner, is also in the mix. RX Lites title-winners Kevin Hansen and Kevin Eriksson are also in the talent pool while World RX race winners Andreas Bakkerud and Sebastian Eriksson complete the line-up of participating drivers. With no Formula 1 this week it was Extreme E in Saudi Arabia that took the limelight, with Nico Rosberg's team of Johan Kristoffersson and Australian rally driver Molly Taylor, beating Cristina Gutiérrez and Acclaimed French driver Sébastien Loeb in Lewis Hamilton's team in the opening round! Stand out performance from Catie Munnings who recorded better split times across the final than her team-mate Timmy Hansen. Munnings also kept the team in the hunt for the final after nursing the car home on 3 wheels after a puncture during qualifying. Christine Giampaoli Zonca had an outstanding weekend and was level with Oliver Bennett across split times in probably the tightest battle between team-mates all weekend. Great to see Carlos Sians on full send! And plenty of beautiful scenery and action from the inaugural Extreme E outing. As we can see, the final EPA result is 20% lower than the WLTP."   Bjorn Nyland published his Polestar 2 range test on 21st August.  18 degrees c, 19" tyres. 90kmh it went 270 miles/435km (vs Model 3 Perf on 18" tyres 324miles/521km). 75mph/120kmh it did 305km/189 miles (vs Model 3 Perf 243 miles/391 km). Estimated net capacity 72.8kWh.   Volvo XC40 Recharge US site: "a projected range of up to 418km/208 miles*"   POLESTAR 2 RECALL FOR EUROPE WON'T AFFECT US CARS "Polestar 2 electric cars sold in China and Europe are being recalled due to an issue that could cause affected cars to shut off and be unable to restart. The recall does not affect any cars in North America." says Green Car Reports: "After customers reported the issue, the electrified brand from Volvo Cars and Geely started a recall of roughly 2,200 cars currently in customer hands. Mercedes says its new entry level EQ model, the GLA-based EQA, is planned to make production before the end of the year. The list of drivers was largely kept quiet, but we know Mercedes F1 number two Valtteri Bottas was among them." reports Jalopnik: "reports indicating some WRC and FIA World RallyX drivers took part. Earlier this year, the CEO said that Tesla is going to soon push two-factor authentication after an ’embarrassing delay,’. A few months later, Tesla has now officially released its two-factor authentication feature to owners."   User Haggy online explains more: "Once you set it up, both the app and web access will need the code. But you can also add a second device. If you have multiple drivers or devices, when it asks for the code, it will ask you which of your devices you want to get the code from. That's good, but if you have more than two drivers, then you will need to set up MFA for each one with a different email address. I tried that for my wife, and was able to authorize that email address for each car, but I couldn't find a way to do it for the Powerwall. So I set it back to my email address, which is now safer to share since there's MFA. It's also a PITA the way they implemented it, because many sites require the code but let you register the computer, and then don't prompt you again for a period of time if you elect that. Rallycross-VM avslutades på söndagen med ett superdrama där kampen om VM-titeln avgjordes på ett spektakulärt sätt. Efter protestkaos korades till slut Timmy Hansen till världsmästare för första gången. Rätt eller fel? VF Motor har sin åsikt klar. Vi pratar även Lewis Hamiltons chanser att bli tidernas störste, en lite förvånande övergång och superbröder.

VF Motor har rest upp till Höljes och laddar för den stora rallycrossfesten. Podden gästas av VM-ledaren Timmy Hansen och SVT-experten Jonas Kruse som ger sin syn på årets VM, Höljestävlingen och framtiden för sporten. Bland mycket annat.

- Os Campeonatos Nacionais de Velocidade Todo- o-Terreno Enduro e Motocross correram-se este fim-de-semana. - O Mundial de Motocross foi a França para o GP de França. - Correram-se duas provas históricas este fim-de-semana: o Grande Prémio do Mónaco, em Fórmula 1, e Indianapólis 500, em Indycar. - António Félix da Costa continua a somar bons resultados na Fórmula E. - Timmy Hansen saiu mais uma vez vitorioso no Mundial de Rallycross, desta vez na Grã-Bretanha. - O Campeonato Nacional de Todo-o-Terreno, em Baja TT Capital dos Vinhos de Portugal correu-se em Reguengos de Monsaraz. - No International GT Open, quatro portugueses estiveram em prova.

I veckans podcast berättar Eje Elgh om sin resa till Red Bull Racings högkvarter i England, där Formel 1-experten har fått provköra F1-teamets simulator. "Allt är otroligt likt verkligheten", försäkrar en lyrisk Eje. Janne Blomqvist och Eje spekulerar vidare om hur söndagens GP i Kanada kommer att gå och förklarar varför den väldigt svåra och ruskigt snabba stop and go-banan Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve är en sådan publikfavorit. Innan Formel 1 läggs åt sidan till förmån för andra motorsporter, hinner herrarna även med att prata om den fortsatta Pirelli-cirkusen och Force Indias något oväntade framgångar. Självklart belyser de även Felix Rosenqvists storartade succé i Formel 3. Han vann ju, som bekant, helgens alla tre race och är nu hack i häl ledaren Raffaele Marciello. Två andra svenskar som också florerar i podcasten och som det också har börjat gå bra för är DTM-föraren Mattias Ekström och Rallycross-stjärnan Timmy Hansen.
