Our F1 Extra episodes dig deeper in F1 and F1-related storylines, and on the latest instalment we take a closer look at former F1 favourite Robert Kubica's first Le Mans 24 Hours victory with Ferrari.Host Edd Straw welcomes The Race's endurance correspondent Thibault Villemant and editor Valentin Khorounzhiy, who were both on-site at the Circuit de la Sarthe covering the 2025 edition of the iconic marathon.Kubica, of course, looked set to drive for Ferrari in F1 before he was badly injured in a rally crash in 2011, so his victory has been widely celebrated. But just how good was his performance in the 24 hours, and how did Ferrari's third squad, which also featured Ye Yifei and Phil Hanson, beat its more acclaimed two factory cars? Also, did this year's Balance of Performance in the top class make Ferrari's route to a third successive victory too simple - and how much of a concern is one of its cars being disqualified post-race for a technical irregularity? Villemant and Khorounzhiy discuss this, and praise the other standout crew of the event. They also take their time to assess how each of the Hypercar manufacturers fared, and talk about the performances of recent F1 drivers Mick Schumacher and Kevin Magnussen - as well as discuss a Magnussen team-mate you need to know about.IF YOU LIKE WHAT YOU HEAR AND WANT MORE BONUS EPISODES, CLICK HERE TO GET A 7-DAY FREE TRIAL TO THE RACE MEMBERS' CLUB Hosted on Acast. Antonio R. 6, if not 7, drivers racing in the 2024 Formula 1 Season will be enjoying a farewell at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton, Carlos Sainz, Franco Colapinto, Kevin Magnussen, Zhou Guanyu, Valtteri Bottas...and maybe, Sergio Perez? And of course, three drivers haven't had a farewell in 2024 - Daniel Ricciardo, Logan Sargeant and Esteban Ocon. Luckily, we will see OCO back in Formula 1 with Haas in a tyre test after Abu Dhabi. In this episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast,  @f1statsguru  and Kunal Shah preview the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. 9 out of the last 12 races have been won from pole, and 11 (of these 12) have been won from the front row. Half of the 10 Constructors' Championship standings could change after this Sunday's race - McLaren vs. Ferrari for P1, while Alpine, Haas and Racing Bulls are battling for P6. The lesser hyped battle is the one for P2 in the Drivers' Championship between Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc. Could Norris go from battling Max Verstappen for P1 to losing P2 to Leclerc? This is the 2024 Formula 1 season and stranger things have happened. But for everyone's sake (and sanity), let's hope that all battles are settled fairly and justly...and without the intervention of the FIA. Tune in!

Meanwhile, Max Verstappen played it smart, winning the Sprint and securing a solid third-place finish in the main race, extending his lead despite Ferrari's incredible performance. In the end, Max Verstappen won the 2024 Canadian Grand Prix, also his 60th win in Formula 1. However, there were two other drivers who could've equally won the race - Mercedes' George Russell and McLaren's Lando Norris. The race, that saw several interruptions thanks to the rain and Safety Car, eventually rewarded "track position" given that the pace between the protagonists was very similar. In fact, Mercedes' pit stops at the restart for fresh tyres was a masterstroke. It gave them significant tyre delta to pull off overtakes and score their first podium of the season. Of course, this was after George Russell scored the team's first pole position of the season on Saturday. The other two key strategy moments were - Haas' "wet" tyre start of the race. Kevin Magnussen & Nico Hulkenberg were flying in the first tenth of the race! They pulled off overtakes at will. The other moment was when Yuki Tsunoda and Esteban Ocon chose to not pit under the Safety Car and pile 44 laps on the inters. This gave them track position in the top-10! The 2024 Canadian Grand Prix was chaotic, but fun. It offered us a good mix of on-track action, mixed weather, a multi-team battle and Alpine's first double points finish of the 2024 Formula 1 season. Tune in! On his 110th Grand Prix Start, and after 15 podium finishes previous, Lando Norris finally scores his first career victory on the streets of Miami, with it also being McLaren's first win since Monza 2021. On the Autosport Podcast, Bryn Lucas is joined by Alex Kalinauckas to break down the action, including how Norris took advantage of the perfectly timed Safety Car after Logan Sargeant and Kevin Magnussen hit each other. There's more on Max Verstappen who suffered floor damage from a rare error when cutting the Sector 2 chicane, as well as Ferrari, with Carlos Sainz picking up a post-race penalty for hitting Oscar Piastri while trying to pass at the hairpin. Did Kevin Magnussen go too far to defend his teammate in the Sprint after picking up 35 seconds of time penalties? And the midfield battle heats up as RB strong results for both their drivers in the Sprint and the Grand Prix, and Alpine gets their first point of the season. And be sure to follow the new James Allen on F1 Podcast, releasing on the Autosport YouTube and Podcast channels on May 7th, with Episode 1 paying tribute to the legacy of the late Ayrton Senna, with last week marking the 30th anniversary of his passing. Listen in for a sneak peek of an Interview with Manish Pandey, writer and producer of the 2010 movie "Senna". Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
