In The Longest battle Emma Martins chats with people who have gone through a similar life changing situation to her own when Emma caught a virus in 2013 which completely changed her life for ever. The virus that Emma caught in Vietnam caused a brain aneurysm which in turn has severely affected Emma's eyesight. In today's The Longest Battle Emma is chatting with David Butler who at the age of 11 in 1955 lost most of both his legs and his left hand after coming across an unexploded bomb. The life changing injuries from this accident have certainly not stopped David from achieving so much in his life through motor sport. David was the first disabled driver to compete round a race track against other drivers at the same time having previously competed in rallying and other timed motor races. David has certainly paved the way for other disabled racers such as Billy Monger. Earlier this year, the CEO said that Tesla is going to soon push two-factor authentication after an ’embarrassing delay,’. A few months later, Tesla has now officially released its two-factor authentication feature to owners." User Haggy online explains more: "Once you set it up, both the app and web access will need the code. But you can also add a second device. If you have multiple drivers or devices, when it asks for the code, it will ask you which of your devices you want to get the code from. That's good, but if you have more than two drivers, then you will need to set up MFA for each one with a different email address. I tried that for my wife, and was able to authorize that email address for each car, but I couldn't find a way to do it for the Powerwall. So I set it back to my email address, which is now safer to share since there's MFA. It's also a PITA the way they implemented it, because many sites require the code but let you register the computer, and then don't prompt you again for a period of time if you elect that. Tesla doesn't seem to allow that." https://electrek.co/2020/10/06/tesla-launches-two-factor-authentication-protect-customers/ TESLA MODEL S PLAID WILL USE 4680 BATTERY CELLS WITH STRUCTURAL PACK "During Battery Day, Tesla unveiled a completely new structural battery pack consisting of new 4680 lithium-ion tabless cells. And now we know that the new Model S Plaid will feature the all-new structural battery pack." says Tesmanian: "520+ miles range, 1100 horsepower, acceleration from 0-60 mph in less than 2 seconds, and top speed of 200 mph. The new type of 4680 lithium-ion cells will have five times more energy, 16% more range, and six times more power. In addition, the cells will be packaged in a new way within the car. Terry Grant... what a legend... I first met Terry back in 2010 at Lydden Hill. We spoke for about 30 seconds and I knew instantly that this was a human I needed more of in my life. Over the years we have crossed paths so many times in the motorsport world and we became good pals quickly. .This man is literally like no other. For anyone in the motorsport world, he needs no introduction... but for my listeners who arent... this man is the most ridiculous professional stunt driver, he holds at least 23 Guinness World Records that include having executed the highest loop-the-loop in a car, the fastest two-wheel mile, the furthest barrel roll jump, the most doughnuts standing on the roof of a car, and the highest number of doughnuts in 100 seconds... and oh so much more... so many mental things....This chat is fascinating and emotional! Terry actually cries at one stage which I never thought he would do... I dont actually want people to cry when they talk to me, but come on... hes like the bravest crazy man in the whole world!!.In all seriousness though, Terry really opens up for the first time about his journey with Billy Monger - the racing driver who was critically injured when he was involved in a collision at Donington Park. Both of Billys legs were amputated, one below the knee and one above - and Terry opens up about his pivotal yet emotional role in helping get Billy back behind the wheel. .He speaks about what really scares him, how he deals with facing death on a daily basis and he talks about the highs and lows of his fascinating life.

A big congratulations to Billy Monger who returned to racing in the BRDC F3 season opener with a third place finish. Yes, we were frustrated by ESPN's race day coverage too. During the race, Carlos Sainz's car tried to drown him It's all about the data - Mercedes settled for second and Ferrari got the win - and all because of data. Haas' wheel nut issues last weekend cost them 10,000 Euros. Sergei Sirotkin's race was done in by a sandwich bag. Honda says that they can build a really good F1 engine... No, really. Stop laughing. There were more passes at this year's Australian Grand Prix than last year - but it's hard to get excited by 5 passes all race. The theories as to why there's less passing could be the aero, could be the car, could be the track... Racing could be faster at Silverstone this year.

Andre Harrison is back, and ready to rumble for Episode 83! In it, we review a rather madcap IndyCar Grand Prix of Alabama which was one by Josef Newgarden for the second time in three years, and his first win for Team Penske, even if it was at the expense of Will Power's slow puncture. That and a whole lot more involving RHR in the wars, Scott Dixon's 7th Barber podium without a win, and Pigot getting the commentators curse, as Fernando Alonso came to town! We also go through a lot of news, including the latest F1 Strategy Group and the death of the "Halo", the odds that Sauber could be switching to Honda power, another F1 race in New York (Yes, again), and the sad news regarding Billy Monger and the retirement of Dale Jr. in NASCAR! Three DOWN in the 2017 Formula 1 season - and some should already be put OUT of their misery. Sure, Lewis Hamilton blew his chance of 25 points by making his Mercedes too wide in the pit lane. Yes, Sebastian Vettel looked comfortable enough that even Ferrari couldn't mess up his race. And of course, Valtteri Bottas undermined his excellent Saturday come Sunday. But as edition 155 of The NR F1 Podcast reviews the 2017 Bahrain Grand Prix in Sakhir, it finds it too tempting not to twist the knife on McLaren as Stoffel Vandoorne fails to start the race - never mind finish it. Then there's Max Verstappen - great racer, but not quite as efficient when it comes to Brazilians. The Sakhir weekend gets the full treatment from the NR F1 crew - including the pod's Of The Weekend Awards. *** As mentioned by Rich, teenage racer Billy Monger suffered life-changing injuries while competing at the weekend - here's the link to help him with his recovery: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/billymonger23 Everyone at The NR F1 Podcast sends Billy all our very best wishes for the future. *** The British county of Norfolk is where the iconic success of Team Lotus was cultivated, where Ayrton Senna, Martin Brundle, Mark Webber and more honed their race craft - and home to The NR F1 Podcast. I take ONE week out from the show and this is what happens. Dre here. Sadly, due to me being on Motorsport vacation, King and RJ covered in my absence! Still, it's a loaded episode, featuring ALL the talk coming out of Bahrain as Sebastian Vettel surprised everyone with a near-flawless drive to win from 3rd on the grid, as Lewis Hamilton's race imploded on a bad pitlane entry decision! We also took Formula 2 and some of the stunning drivers from Markelov and Charles LeClerc, European F3, the WEC season opener from Silverstone, and the sad news coming out of British F4 with Billy Monger. Oh yeah... And some F1 driver's doing the 500. Some Spanish guy. Enjoy!
Lewis Hamilton has used 'driving slow' as a tactic in the past. Yes, it was at the 2016 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where he won the race, but lost the Drivers' Championship to Nico Rosberg. However, at the epic 2017 Bahrain Grand Prix, Hamilton was penalised for driving slow ahead of Daniel Ricciardo. The karma of the Motorsport world coming to bite Hamilton back? Mercedes were outclassed by Ferrari in every department, tyre strategy being the most evident one. In fact, Mercedes had lost out to Red Bull Racing too. The reigning World Champion need to sharpen themselves to fight external competition after years of intra-team battles. As for Ferrari, someone needs to remind them that they've a second car too! After the first three races, it is appearing that positions 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 10th are already blocked for a few drivers. This means there's fewer positions to fight for in the top 10. But for Mclaren-Honda, after being bored of DNFs, they decided to lodge a DNS! Finally, we welcome Turkey and their Turn 8 back to Formula 1, let's hope they get onto the calendar soon enough. We would also like to welcome back Jenson Button for his one-off appearance for Mclaren at the 2017 Monaco Grand Prix. He's either bold or dumb to race in Monaco without any testing whatsoever. And of course, our best wishes and prayers to Billy Monger and his family. Tune in!
