Volkswagen pakt nu écht door met betaalbare elektrische modellen, en het interieur hangt gelukkig weer vol met knoppen. Volkswagen onthult op de IAA Mobility in München de ID Cross, een elektrische SUV in het B-segment. Het model krijgt max 420 km actieradius en komt in 2026 op de markt. Volkswagen laat ook de ID Polo zien. Die verschijnt volgend jaar en gaat rond de 25.000 euro kosten. Skoda (met de Epiq) en Cupra (met de Raval) brengen ook elektrische modellen in die prijsklasse op de markt. Verder in de auto-update: Porsche presenteert in München de meest krachtige 911 ooit. En la edición de hoy de Radar Empresarial, revisamos la fuerte caída que experimentó este lunes la automotriz china BYD. La compañía vio cómo sus acciones descendían más de un 5%, alcanzando su nivel más bajo en los últimos cinco meses. Esta reacción del mercado responde a unos resultados financieros que no cumplieron con las expectativas. El beneficio neto de la empresa se redujo un 30%, situándose en torno a los 895 millones de dólares. Esto ocurrió a pesar de que sus ingresos aumentaron un 14% en comparación con el año anterior. ¿Qué explica entonces esta disminución en las ganancias? Según BYD, la causa principal ha sido la intensa competencia en precios y las campañas de marketing cada vez más agresivas. En el mercado automovilístico chino, se libra actualmente una intensa guerra de precios. Durante los últimos dos años, el valor medio de los coches ha descendido en hasta 20.000 dólares. Ante esta situación, el gobierno chino ha advertido que tomará medidas contra las empresas que continúen incentivando reducciones de precios. A nivel global, el panorama muestra que solo las firmas chinas parecen capaces de hacer frente entre sí, mientras que Europa y Estados Unidos observan con preocupación el avance del coloso asiático en la industria automotriz. Los datos de ventas de julio evidencian esta tendencia. Tesla, por ejemplo, sufrió un desplome del 86% en sus ventas en Europa durante ese mes. Mientras tanto, algunos fabricantes europeos muestran signos de recuperación, como Volkswagen, que elevó su participación de mercado al 28%, y Cupra, que aumentó sus ventas en un 45%. No obstante, las marcas chinas continúan creciendo a un ritmo impresionante: BYD, por su parte, incrementó sus matriculaciones en un 225%. Frente a este escenario, la compañía ha decidido ajustar su estrategia global. La planta que inauguró en 2024 en Tailandia, originalmente pensada para abastecer el mercado del sudeste asiático, ahora producirá vehículos destinados a Europa. Cabe recordar que BYD es una empresa relativamente joven, fundada en 2003 por el químico Wang Chuanfu. Su primer modelo no tuvo aceptación por su diseño poco atractivo, pero con el lanzamiento del BYD F3, que se asemejaba mucho al Toyota Corolla, logró conquistar al público y consolidarse en el sector.

September auf den Red Bull Ring im österreichischen Spielberg. Mit dabei das Team Monlau Motorsport mit seinen beiden CUPRA Leon VZ TCR, das im Vorjahr den Fahrertitel holte.  Darum geht es diesmal!Die TCR-Saison 2025 biegt auf die Zielgerade ein, aber auf CUPRA und seine Kundenteams warten noch einige Highlights. So zum Beispiel der vorletzte Lauf der TCR Europe auf dem Red Bull Ring im österreichischen Spielberg. TCR steht übrigens für Touring Car Racing. Vom 5. bis 7. September geht das Team Monlau Motorsport mit seinen beiden CUPRA Leon VZ TCR wieder auf Punktejagd. Im vergangenen Jahr sicherte sich das spanische Team den Fahrertitel in der TCR Europe und auch 2025 mischt Monlau Motorsport noch im Titelrennen mit. Einer der beiden Fahrer ist Eric Gené. Der Spanier feierte beim vergangenen Lauf auf dem Misano World Circuit seinen ersten Podiumsplatz in der Rennserie und rückte damit auf den dritten Platz in der Fahrerwertung vor. Im Klassement der Fahrer unter 21 Jahren liegt der erst 18-jährige Youngster aktuell in Führung. Der 54-Jährige fuhr für SEAT-Sport und CUPRA in Serien wie der FIA-Tourenwagen-Weltmeisterschaft WTCC, im FIA-Tourenwagen-Weltcup WTCR und in der elektrischen Tourenwagenserie ETCR. Dabei gewann Gené nicht nur zahlreiche Rennen, sondern war auch maßgeblich an der Entwicklung neuer Modelle beteiligt. Bis heute ist er als CUPRA Markenbotschafter und Entwicklungsfahrer aktiv. Sein Sohn Eric wuchs buchstäblich an der Rennstrecke auf. Er startete seine Motorsportkarriere im Kart, bevor er 2024 in den Tourenwagensport wechselte. Das Team „Auto Thomas by Jung Motorsport“ kämpft im CUPRA Leon auf der Nordschleife um Siege und Pokale Erfolgreicher Kundensport auch in DeutschlandKundensport bei CUPRA steht aber nicht nur für internationale Erfolge, sondern auch für eine lebendige Szene in Deutschland. Das Team „Auto Thomas by Jung Motorsport“ ist das beste Beispiel. Mit CUPRA kämpft das Team auf der Nordschleife um Siege und Pokale. Die engagierte Mannschaft aus Nordrhein-Westfalen hat in diesem Jahr nicht nur in der Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) überzeugt. China drängt mit E-Autos nach vorne, Deutschland ringt um die Zukunft des Verbrenners – und eine neue Studie zeigt, wie hart der Förderstopp den Markt getroffen hat. Verliert Deutschland bei der Elektromobilität den Anschluss? Darüber spricht electrive-Chefredakteur Peter Schwierz mit Beatrix Keim, Direktorin des CAR Center Automotive Research. Das CAR hat kürzlich die Studie „Elektromobilität am Wendepunkt – Notwendige Entwicklungen bis Ende 2025“ vorgestellt. Keim nennt das Ende der Umweltprämie Ende 2023 einen Knackpunkt: „Das war ein absoluter Fauxpas, gelinde gesagt idiotisch, zu kurz angesagt, nicht wirklich gut erklärt – und der Bevölkerung wurde, sehr salopp gesagt, der Stinkefinger gezeigt.“ Während die Bundesregierung 15 Millionen E-Autos bis 2030 anstrebe, habe sie das Gegenteil signalisiert. Hinzu komme mangelnde Aufklärung. „Es wird immer noch nicht ausreichend erklärt, was E-Mobilität eigentlich ist, welche Vorteile sie bringt und für wen sie geeignet ist.“ Mythen zu Batterien oder Reichweite hielten sich. Auch das „Verbrenner-Aus“ 2035 werde falsch verstanden – viele dächten, Verbrenner würden dann verboten. Soziale Förderung und Ladeinfrastruktur Um Privatkunden zu gewinnen, fordert Keim eine sozialere Förderung. „Es reicht nicht, wenn steuerliche Vorteile vor allem Dienstwagenbesitzern zugutekommen. Auch Menschen mit normalen Gehältern brauchen Zugang.“ Sie verweist auf das französische „Social Leasing“. Zudem müsse der Ausbau der Ladeinfrastruktur beschleunigt werden: „Es ist besser, fast schon zu viel zu haben, als wirklich zu wenig. Die gefühlte Lücke sorgt für Unsicherheit – und die Reichweitenangst sitzt tief.“ Einstiegspreise und Batterieabhängigkeit Erschwingliche Modelle fehlen. „Ich habe Volkswagen schon gesagt: Bringen Sie bitte den ID.2 oder ID.1 so schnell wie möglich – besser nicht erst 2027.“ Auch Stellantis oder chinesische Hersteller könnten einspringen. Trotz EU-Zöllen blieben Importe konkurrenzfähig. Parallel warnt Keim: „Wir brauchen dringend mehr Zellfertigung in Europa. Solange wir bei Batterien von China abhängig sind, bleiben wir verwundbar.“ Deutsche Hersteller: zwischen Hoffnung und Realität Bei VW sieht Keim Licht und Schatten: „Die ID-Modelle werden in Europa durchaus gut angenommen, auch Cupra läuft sehr gut. Aber in China sieht es schwieriger aus.“ Audi und Porsche hinkten hinterher. BMW setze mit der „Neuen Klasse“ ein starkes Signal: „Das ist ein echter Hoffnungsträger, technologisch sehr stark und mit internationaler Ausrichtung.“ Mercedes halte mit seiner MMA-Plattform den Verbrenner offen. „Wir haben noch zehn Jahre bis zum Verbrenner-Aus. Der US-Markt ist weiter ein Verbrennermarkt, auch in China dominiert der Verbrenner noch.“ Opel wiederum setzt statt reiner E-Mobilität auf Multi-Energy. „Man versucht hier nach allen Halmen zu greifen. Aber ob das Vertrauen schafft, ist fraglich.“ China drängt nach Europa BYD, Changan und andere treten in München groß auf, begleitet von Batterieproduzenten wie CATL. „Die Fahrzeuge sind technisch gut, aber die Marken haben noch Nachholbedarf beim Image. Ohne mehr Kommunikation und Sichtbarkeit wird es schwer, Vertrauen aufzubauen.“ Parallel werde aggressiv der Flotten- und Abo-Markt bedient. Schafft Deutschland den Turnaround? „Es muss endlich gehandelt werden. Die Bundesregierung darf diese Schlüsselindustrie nicht einfach laufen lassen.“ Über 50.000 Arbeitsplätze seien bereits verloren gegangen. „Wenn wir nicht reagieren, verlieren wir nicht nur Marktanteile, sondern auch industrielle Substanz.“ Ihre Kernbotschaft: „E-Mobilität ist eine sehr schöne, sehr emotionale Mobilität. Aber sie muss von Politik, Industrie und Gesellschaft getragen werden – sonst werden wir in Europa nur noch zuschauen.“

Cupra TERRAMAR: análisis completo de su rendimiento en Euro NCAP 2025 El recién llegado Cupra TERRAMAR ha conquistado las cinco estrellas de Euro NCAP. A continuación desgranamos con detalle qué hay detrás de esa calificación global y cómo se comporta el SUV enchufable de la firma española en cada apartado clave de la seguridad. ¿Qué versiones han sido evaluadas? El organismo europeo ensayó la variante TERRAMAR Exclusive, pero los resultados se extienden a la versión Select, ya que comparten estructura, motorización y dotación de seguridad. Configuración del vehículo sometido a prueba La unidad testada equipaba el paquete habitual de asistentes de Cupra—radar y cámara redundantes, airbag central delantero, eCall avanzado y freno multicolisión—además de llantas de 20 pulgadas y grupo propulsor híbrido enchufable de 272 CV. 1. Seguridad de ocupantes adultos — 89 % Impacto frontal 12,1/16 puntos. En el choque descentrado, el habitáculo se mantuvo estable. Rodillas y fémures de ambos ocupantes delanteros quedaron bien protegidos. El tórax del pasajero trasero redujo la nota en el impacto de solape total debido a la rigidez de un cuarto del frontal. Impacto lateral 15,9/16 puntos. Tanto contra barrera móvil como contra poste, la protección fue en su mayoría “buena”. Solo el tórax del conductor quedó en “adecuada” por ligera compresión costal. Latigazo cervical (alcance) 3,9/4 puntos. Ensayos dinámicos y análisis geométrico otorgaron calificación “buena” tanto delante como detrás. Rescate y extracción 4/4 puntos. Incorpora hoja de rescate ISO, sistema eCall avanzado, frenado multicolisión y superó la prueba de sumergibilidad: puertas y ventanillas pueden abrirse sin energía en menos de dos minutos. 2. Protección infantil — 87 % Seguridad pasiva: obtuvo 24/24 gracias a la protección “verde” de los dummies de 6 y 10 años en impactos frontal y lateral. Seguridad activa y equipamiento: 7/13 por la presencia de un sistema indirecto de detección de presencia infantil, que ya no suma puntos en Euro NCAP. Verificación CRS: 12/12 al admitir sin problema todos los tipos de sillas previstos e incluir airbag del acompañante desconectable con aviso claro al conductor. 3. Usuarios vulnerables de la vía — 82 % En pruebas de atropello, la cabeza de peatones y ciclistas recibió protección de buena a adecuada, salvo en la base del parabrisas y los pilares A, donde bajó a “deficiente”. Parachoques y borde delantero brindaron buenas mediciones para rodillas y tibias; la pelvis obtuvo resultados mixtos. AEB frente a usuarios vulnerables El frenado autónomo detecta peatones, ciclistas y motociclistas con buen desempeño general; no cubre peatones en marcha atrás y la función anti-dooring es opcional, por lo que no sumó puntos adicionales. 4. Sistemas de asistencia (ADAS) — 76 % Limitador inteligente de velocidad: 1,9/3 Monitorización del conductor (fatiga): 1,3/3 Mantenimiento y emergencia de carril: 2,5/3 AEB coche a coche: 8,2/9 Los asistentes comienzan a operar a solo 5 km/h y combinan cámara y radar. El AEB evitó colisiones en la mayoría de escenarios urbanos e interurbanos. El sistema de carril actúa con suavidad pero puede intervenir de forma más firme en situaciones críticas. Conclusión El Cupra TERRAMAR confirma con su calificación de cinco estrellas que la nueva apuesta híbrida enchufable de la marca no solo busca dinamismo y diseño, sino también un alto estándar de seguridad. Destaca la protección integral en impactos laterales, la excelente seguridad infantil y un paquete ADAS cada vez más completo, aunque todavía perfeccionable en la interacción con usuarios vulnerables en maniobras marcha atrás y en la prevención de “dooring”. Driving the relatively new Cupra Tavascan mid-sized electric SUV today – thehigher grade Tavascan VZ at $79,990 driveaway, a striking coupe style mid-sizedSUV with dual motor 250kW all-wheel drive with electronic adaptive suspension,large 21-inch alloy wheels, six drive modes, a full suite of active and passivesafety elements and an interior design that is unique and very appealing. It's another vintage Line Noise episode this week, as I revisit an interview I did with Jean-Benoît Dunckel for Radio Primavera Sound in 2022, around the release of his solo album Carbon.
