My Life as a Doctor: Reflections on Burnout, Calling, and Retirement by Stan Eisele, M.D. Authorstanmd.com https://www.amazon.com/My-Life-Doctor-Reflections-Retirement/dp/B0H22RBR21 A deeply honest physician memoir about burnout, calling, retirement, faith, and the human side of medicine. After forty years in medicine, Dr. Stan Eisele thought he understood what it meant to serve others. He was wrong. In My Life as a Doctor: Reflections on Burnout, Calling, and Retirement, Dr. Eisele shares a personal and thoughtful journey through the life of a physician. From the childhood loss that first drew him toward the healing professions, to the demands of medical school, residency, patient care, healthcare bureaucracy, career burnout, and the emotional transition into retirement, this memoir offers a clear and moving look at what it means to live a life of service. Dr. Eisele begins with the story of Chippers, his beloved childhood dog, whose illness became the first moment that opened his heart to medicine. What began as a desire to help animals slowly became a calling to care for people. His path led him through medical school at USC, internal medicine training, and decades of practice as a primary care physician. But the dream was not always easy. As the healthcare system changed, Dr. Eisele faced the pressure of insurance restrictions, HMO systems, corporate medicine, overwhelming documentation, emotional exhaustion, depression, and physician burnout. At times, the work that once felt like a calling began to feel like a burden. Then came a turning point. A move from San Diego to Eagle, Idaho, restored his sense of purpose and helped him reconnect with the heart of medicine: compassionate patient care, faith, family, and service. Later, a sudden life-threatening heart attack placed him in the unfamiliar role of patient instead of doctor. That experience changed his understanding of care, vulnerability, gratitude, and healing. In retirement, Dr. Eisele discovers that calling does not end when a career ends. Through community, music, faith, and service, he finds new ways to give back and a deeper understanding of what it means to live with purpose. This book is ideal for readers interested in: Physician memoirs and doctor stories Medical memoirs about burnout and healing Faith-based reflections on calling and purpose Retirement, identity, and life transitions Patient care, compassion, and the human side of healthcare Inspirational nonfiction about perseverance and service My Life as a Doctor is more than a medical memoir. It is a story of purpose, resilience, gratitude, faith, and the quiet strength found in showing up for others with compassion, humility, and grace.

Eternal Nights: Arrival by Richard Spegal Richardspegal.com https://www.amazon.com/Eternal-Nights-Arrival-Richard-Spegal/dp/1970703512 The Time Has Come. In AD2019 they met their Progenitor and finally learned the truth about not only their origins, but the origins of all vampires. They also learned the horrible truth of the beginning of everything, and the scourge that was unleashed throughout the universe. A force that had gone unchecked for billions upon billions of years. They vowed to stop it… assuming it still existed. In AD3325 the enemy was no longer hypothetical, and the human race was no longer alone. The coming force is an enemy unlike anything the races of the galaxy had ever faced. A living hunger, capable of consuming entire galaxies. Sentient locusts with numbers that could blot out the stars. When they enter a galaxy, it is a sign that the End of Days has begun. This is not an enemy that can be fought from the shadows. Having lived for thousands of years, they have changed. Their entire family has changed. They will still stand in defense of the mortal races, but it will be on their terms. The mortal races will accept them, or they will disappear forever and let the galaxy burn. The Shakeeth have arrived, and in order to face the coming darkness, Johnathon and Danielle will have to take their family into the light. About the author I’ve been writing for years, but only started publishing about 3 1/2 years ago. I pride myself on adult oriented entertainment. The relationships, the language, the complicated plot threads, and a lot of the situations are geared toward an older audience. Honestly, I think anyone would get enjoyment from the reading, but the more life experience you have, the more you will be able to relate to what is happening. Regarding relationships, for example, my characters tend to be married or have a family. This isn’t the kind of romance that younger audience members can relate to. I also pride myself on brutal realistic detail. The characters talk like real people, act like real people, think like real people, and make the decisions real people would make. No one goes “suddenly stupid” so that the plot can happen. No, my characters are the one driving the plot. That is how it should, but that’s been forgotten by creators over the last decade or so, which is why so much of everything fails now. There are old editions on Amazon, because Amazon refuses to take listings down. I hate that because it can be confusing, but at least the old editions are marked as unavailable, or are otherwise obvious. The new stuff tends to be at the top. My 5th book should be out within a couple weeks of this posting, and number 6 is scheduled for Spring 2026. Beyond that, it’ll be my publisher’s decision as to how fast the books go live.

Promotion: Denied by Lt Col Joseph W. Hoffler USAF-Ret. https://www.amazon.com/Promotion-Col-Joseph-Hoffler-USAF-Ret/dp/B0GGZ36KCG Promotion: Denied is a powerful true account of institutional racism, betrayal, and moral courage within the United States Air Force Academy. In this deeply personal and meticulously documented narrative, Lt Col Joseph W. Hoffler, USAF (Ret.), exposes how a distinguished twenty-two-year military career was derailed by racial prejudice, unlawful investigations, and a deliberate cover-up by senior leadership. Recruited to serve as a role model for minority cadets, Hoffler instead found himself targeted by a system meant to uphold honor, integrity, and justice. Through firsthand testimony, official records, and lived experience, this book reveals how misuse of authority, fabricated allegations, and bureaucratic silence led to the denial of promotion and forced early retirement. Four and Twenty Blackbirds by Mark Pierce Sr. https://www.amazon.com/Four-Twenty-Blackbirds-Mark-Pierce/dp/1963735579/ Wardlarsen.com Mark A. Pierce Sr. has written a saga that uncovers an innocuous slight to the military service record of thousands of African Americans. His sweeping novel about a military social experiment starts in Detroit in 1943 and reaches its profound conclusion forty years later. The battles repelled by the greatest generation of fighting men the world had ever seen were covered in the memories of a zeitgeist… underneath the sands of time. Pierce has come forward with an unspoken story – until now. FOUR AND TWENTY BLACKBIRDS will astound the reader. About the Author After years of research and organizing, Mark A. Pierce Sr. used his first draft of “FOUR AND TWENTY BLACKBIRDS” as his Senior Project at California Polytechnic State University in 1992. The work was recognized with the university’s student arts commendation on behalf of the English Department. Still Pierce did not immediately seek to have it sent out. He did revision after revision on the manuscript… decades of revision. Two years ago he finally felt it was ready. Pierce was so deliberate with the manuscript because its nexus had come to him from his father, August Pierce. He had shown Pierce the memorabilia of 1944 U.S. Army Movement orders. August Pierce had been asked to volunteer for the December 1943 assignment, but had refused (despite being decorated three times for bravery). Pierce assumed the weight of this information and wanted to give it just treatment. This is Pierce’s second book, but his first novel. In 2012, Pierce published the social/educational book, Micro aggressions Across the Great Divide, an inquiry about how perceptions get aligned to multicultural misconceptions and how that damages learning. Pierce holds a Master’s Degree in English Rhetoric (2007) and a Master’s Degree in Education (2008), both received from the California State University of Northridge. He is a credentialed teacher and public school administrator. Pierce lives with his wife, Corinne, on the central coast of California.

While we all have our own thoughts, feelings, and opinions on the topic of religious faith, Wrong Again, Doglips will speak to both unbelievers and followers of the Christian faith.

A Mountain Of Beans by Samson Gruss https://www.amazon.com/Mountain-Beans-Samson-Gruss/dp/B0CZM97ZNY A magnetic polar reversal has left a gaping hole in the earth’s protective magnetosphere, and harmful electromagnetic radiation from the sun has stricken the unprotected earth. All electronics, including electronics on cars and trucks, have been fried. Even transformers on power lines and batteries have been disabled. All traffic on the freeway has come to a rolling stop. Pete, a trucker, is sitting on the freeway stopped, along with dozens of cars and other trucks. There is no way to know how big the affected area is-could be the size of a small city or county or could be half the planet facing the sun. There is no way to know and no way to find out. Pete, an atheist, meets another trucker, John, a humble Christian family man. John’s truck is loaded with canned beans, which gives them a food source. But there are dozens of other cars and trucks in the vicinity, and Pete and John know they cannot feed that many people for very long. Help may not come for days or weeks-may not come at all. What do they do? Do they hoard the food, or do they pass it out to as many people as possible for as long as possible? Does help reach them in time? Do they survive?

Putting Trauma to Sleep: Attachment-Based Neuromodulatory Interventions for Stabilizing the Brainstem by Jaan Reitav, Celeste Thirlwell https://www.amazon.com/Putting-Trauma-Sleep-Attachment-Based-Neuromodulatory/dp/0393714772 Jaanreitav.podia.com Sleep disturbances and trauma are intrinsically linked―so why aren't therapists trained in sleep repair? Anyone who has suffered from trauma knows what it means to have sleepless nights. In fact, research has shown that at the heart of both trauma and sleep disorders is a dysregulated brainstem with heightened sympathetic nervous system activity. Yet, current trauma treatments largely ignore this profound interconnection between trauma and sleep. Putting Trauma to Sleep proposes that incorporating a therapeutic TABS model (traumatic events, attachment disturbances, bodily symptoms, sleep repair), therapists can better aid their clients in both healing from trauma and restoring sleep. With practical clinical approaches and illustrative case examples, sleep specialists Jaan Reitav and Celeste Thirlwell demonstrate how therapists and their clients can integrate sleep repair into trauma work by enhancing parasympathetic nervous system tone and actively attending to shock reactions in the body. Dysfunctional sleeping patterns have been ignored for too long within the psychotherapy sphere; this indispensable resource will transform readers' understanding of both sleep and trauma therapy.

The Supply and Demand Paradox: A Treatise on Economics by Byron Fisher https://www.amazon.com/Supply-Demand-Paradox-Treatise-Economics/dp/1419664271 Thesupplyanddemandparadox.com Byron Fisher’s new book, The Supply and Demand Paradox, is a remarkable book that addresses two fundamental questions within the field of economics: 1) Will a consumer demand a good or service simply because a producer supplies it? 2) Will a producer supply a good or service simply because a consumer demands it? The author answers both questions fully, in presenting a theory that he has developed — known as the Supply and Demand Paradox (SDP). With logical and straightforward explanations, he makes clear to the reader exactly why the supply of a particular product or service cannot in and of itself generate demand. In stark contrast, demand for any product or service — whether illicit or not — will always generate supply, as it spurs one or more business organizations to satisfy that demand in the pursuit of profits. This unique new theory is applied to a host of fields, including evolutionary biology, political science, organized crime, and the origin of financial markets. Anyone with an interest in economics, free markets, and the powerful influences of supply and demand, will find this book well worth reading.

Judith Partelow speaks from the heart, shines a light into the soul, captures the fragility of life, and conveys complex emotional experiences with clarity. This collection is truly a treasure.” – Lily Poritz Miller, author, former editor at The Macmillan Company and McGraw-Hill, senior editor at McClelland and Stewart. “Judith Partelow's poetry collection, Passion & Provocation, is a must-read for any woman who has lived and loved. Her voice will sound as familiar as your own with its yearnings, triumphs, regrets and humor, a voice that speaks from the ‘inside out’ about a woman's life today.” – Nancy Rubin Stuart, author, POOR RICHARD'S WOMEN: Deborah Read Franklin and the Other Women Behind the Founding Father “Passion and Provocation is a rich compilation of poems about the many phases of womanhood. Partelow uses musical language that sings her emotion: “Tropical ma-an/pulsates to a calypso beat.” In a tender moment, the author ponders the life of a mother: “an endless tune/we dance to all our lives.” She chronicles past relationships, old loves and new, while drawing the reader in with sensual images that celebrate her children and her own younger self. These are poems to savor for their astonishing beauty and contemplative vision.” —Robin Smith-Johnson, Author, Dream of the Antique Dealer's Daughter, and Gale Warnings Passion & Provocation is an invitation to explore the many colors of Judith Partelow's poetry; a tapestry of threads woven through tender longings and joyful celebrations of love, friendships, marriages, family bonds, the soul, and other themes of a life well lived.
