With over 12 years of experience in veterinary medicine, Lopes brings a deep understanding of patient care, team leadership, and client relations to his role as Practice Manager at Doral Veterinary Care (DVC). His career began in a 24-hour emergency and critical care hospital, where he spent six years as a veterinary technician before expanding into oncology, ophthalmology, and orthopedic surgery. Before joining DVC, he successfully managed multiple general practice veterinary teams across several cities, ensuring excellence in both medical care and client service. Lopes's expertise extends beyond veterinary medicine. His first decade of professional experience was in hospitality, where he developed a keen ability to enhance client experiences and foster strong team dynamics—skills he seamlessly integrates into his work in veterinary care. His lifelong passion for animals began in childhood, growing up alongside a wide array of pets, from dogs and rabbits to a pig and a goat. This love for animals led him into zoological care, where he worked with an impressive range of species, including canids, raptors, primates, and large fauna such as rhinoceroses and giraffes. Notably, he has worked with all seven species of big cats and even the Southern Cassowary, known as the world's most dangerous bird. Outside of work, Lopes is an avid aquarist who enjoys outdoor adventures, fitness, and—above all—spending time exploring the world with his wife and daughter.

About Dr. Tom Walsh: Dr. Tom Walsh's passion for animals resulted in an abrupt turn in his life. After a successful career in telecommunications, he gave that up to become a veterinarian. And he has never looked back. After working years as a vet, he found his niche--small animal rehab. Dr Walsh established PrimePet Rehab, a mobile small animal rehabilitation and physical therapy service that treats animals at a number of veterinary clinics. Therapeutic laser is integral to his practice and is used daily to provide inflammation and pain reduction and to speed healing times. Dr. Walsh started using laser for post-op, IVDD recovery and trauma. He saw recovery for back surgery reduced from 4-6 weeks to less than half the time. Improvement in recovery time made a big difference for owners going through a traumatic event with their pets and helped the animals relax as well. After seeing the results he got from his early work with laser, Dr. Walsh expanded the scope of conditions he treats and often uses it in combination with other treatment modalities with great results.

Along the way, he lectured at Geneva Business School and co-founded Code4Romania, a non-profit organization creating technical solutions to social challenges that now unites 2700+ developers. Gabor's  journey took an unexpected turn when he delved into the world of veterinary medicine while working on a project for a pet vaccine manufacturer. Immersed in the busy routines of dozens of veterinary hospitals, he was astonished by the multitude of administrative tasks that plagued their workflows, diverting precious time away from what veterinary professionals cherish most – caring for their patients. This revelation, coupled with observations of pet parent challenges, sparked the idea of building a software product that would enhance the veterinary care process. Together with his partner Ruxandra Pui, he developed Digitail – an all-in-one operating system for animal hospitals designed to improve efficiencies and provide a modern experience to veterinary teams, clients, and their pets. Launched in 2018, Digitail now serves 1,000+ practices and 1 million pets worldwide. In 2023, Digitail closed an $11 million Series A funding round led by Atomico.
