We recorded a great show, but one of our guests' audio was lost to the ether, and trying to gather the gang back together to rerecord it is too difficult right now with our competing schedules. Fear not, for we will not abandon doing a Yu Yu Hakusho-related podcast completely! We intend to record a Yu Yu Hakusho MANGA FIGHT sometime in the coming weeks to make up for the lost show. With any luck it'll be recorded and released before the end of the year! One Panel Later's podcast explores the history of BL and why it's important and meaningful for the women who create and consume it. Anime Feminist's podcast examines the genre through the perspectives of two gay men and a non-binary person, discussing why they resonate with these stories, examining how BL represents and misrepresents gay men, and how to examine BL's problematic aspects critically without dismissing its positive qualities. These podcasts make a great pair in enlightening those unfamiliar with BL on its history and the current conversations fans are having about the genre, and provide a great starting point to learn more about BL and explore the various different series they recommend. In addition to these great podcasts, we're also recommending a blog post by Ogiue Maniax analyzing Kongo Agon's character arc in Eyeshield 21, examining what it means to be a successful teammate and a good leader. It's always great to see in-depth analysis of an older, relatively underrated manga like Eyeshield 21, and this post is a great breakdown of the core of Agon's philosophy and how its challenged over the course of the series. Of course, alongside our Community Shout-Outs we've also got news to shout about! We discuss announcements of new manga from popular creators like Sankaku Head and Takuma Yokota, debate whether any of the Full Metal Alchemist films are any good, and lament the dissolution of the FUNimation and Crunchyroll podcast. Richard had no inclination of working for the railroad. Midway through his corporate career, he was musing about the general state of the railroad industry. The same week, by uncanny coincidence, one of his coworkers shared a train conductor recruiting ad in the newspaper (one of those paper publications as nostalgic as trains). A new trailer for Makoto Shinkai's upcoming Byousoku 5 Centimeter movie trilogy is now online. The films will be released next spring in Japan. The official site for Gonzo's Master of Epic anime series is now online. The show premieres next January in Japan. With grateful thanks to the ANN Reviews Densha Otoko Densha Otoko or Train Man is supposedly based on a true story but with all things Internet related I'll let you decide. I found it to be a nice read while commuting so if you like your heroes nerdy but not Harem Heroic then this could be the title for you. It doesn't have a UK based publisher as far as I know so you'll have order it State-Side for now. DNAngel DNAngel was the title I got back into Anime and Manga after an almost ten year absense. And I know what some fans and listeners will say 'He chose That Title to come back to!?!' but it's the perfect title to show some who's been away from the Crusade for a while. Not terribly bad, not great just a little bit non-engaging. The manga is longer but has way more Shoujo elements to it than the TV series. Kimagure Orange Road KOR is fast becoming a favourite of mine but it's purely an acquired taste. If you can't stand 80's anime this may not be your bag but then if you never watch 80's anime then your not being a true Otaku are you? If you don't like it then you don't like it. Animeigo did a fantastic job translating it but they recently lost the license by that I mean that is that the Japanese label that controls it just recently brought out their own boxset in Region 2(Japan) land with better image and sound quality. In other words We're not letting you produce any more of this DVD while we bring out our outrageously priced version that the fans in Japan must buy rather than pick up your nice, cheap version.....As I said before Animeigo did a fantastic job.
