SRI360 | Socially Responsible Investing, ESG, Impact Investing, Sustainable Investing
In this episode, instead of bringing you a long-form interview with a world-class investor, I thought I'd do something different. This time, I'm revisiting the book that inspired this podcast: Sustainable and Responsible Investing 360: Lessons Learned from World-Class Investors. As we step into a new year, it's the perfect time to reflect on the choices we make and remind ourselves how sustainable and responsible investing became significant in the first place. We'll explore why so many investors now see it as a future-proof investment trend and why more are considering the broader impact their portfolio returns have on others. This episode is designed to do just that, featuring three chapters from the audiobook version of Sustainable and Responsible Investing 360: Lessons Learned from World-Class Investors. It's an opportunity to revisit the foundational "why" behind sustainable investing – not as just a trend, but as a necessary shift in how we think about finance and its role in the world. These chapters are narrated by the talented veteran actor Graham Rowat. The book is designed to be easy to navigate – you can read it from cover to cover or jump to specific topics that interest you.The book begins with an overview of sustainable and responsible investing – its challenges, opportunities, and importance – before transitioning to interviews with 26 professional investors who have broken new ground in responsible investmentAt the start of this new year, I wanted to share these three chapters as a chance to reflect on what truly matters. My hope is that they inspire you to think differently about your financial decisions and their potential to align with a more sustainable future. If you are interested in checking out the rest of the audiobook, which is produced and copyrighted by Ascent Audio, you can find it on Audible, Apple, Google, Spotify, or wherever you find your favorite audiobooks. Please enjoy… and thank you for listening.—The SRI 360° Podcast is focused exclusively on sustainable & responsible investing. —Connect with SRI360°:Sign up for the free weekly email updateVisit the SRI360° PODCASTVisit the SRI360° WEBSITEFollow SRI360° on XFollow SRI360° on FACEBOOK—Key Takeaways:Intro (00:00)CHAPTER 1 - Why Sustainable & Responsible Investing? Transcript of the Intro: Hi, I'm Tal Minear, executive producer of Regarding Dracula. I'm here today to tell you about another audio drama I think you'd like - The Hotel! From grand 5 star resorts down to forgotten highway motels, each night a guest checks in under the watchful eye of the Manager, her Lobby Boy, and the Owner, as they usher in a fantastic and horrifying death for the Hotel Herself, who's always watching her beloved Staff in their nightmare work. Good, bad, innocent, guilty, anyone can check in, but no one, not even the Staff, checks out. The Hotel features Mark Whitten from Demon Slayer as The Lobby Boy, Kelly Nienaltowski from Genshin Impact as The Manager, and our very own Graham Rowat as The Owner. I love the writing of this audio drama, and the slow building horror within the narration. Keep listening to find out what I mean! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

October 28: Van Helsing discusses Dracula. This episode discusses at length principles of the pseudoscience of eugenics. Transcript here. The trailer at the end of the episode was for HEMOPHOBIA, a new horror audio drama by CSW. The grounds of Camp Havenside look innocent enough — a chapel and worship pavilion, cleanly separated girls and boys cabins, and a lush forest surrounding it that, when the sun falls, goes still and undisturbed with a strange quietude. Suffering from a crisis of faith, Sam, a young church-going teenager, accompanies his youth group to the long-undisturbed Camp Havenside to seek spiritual enlightenment. What he finds is something very, very different. As all supposed virtues and sacraments are perverted in brutal, bodily horrors, so creeps the approach of something that has slept in the secret folds of a cloistered Christian church camp for generations — waiting for someone to haunt. This episode featured: Graham Rowat as Rufus Smith; Jonathan Sims as Jack Seward; Alan Burgon as Van Helsing; Isabel Adomakoh Young as Mina Harker; David Ault as Lord Godalming; and Karim Kronfli as Dracula. Dialogue editing by Stephen Indrisano. Sound design by Tal Minear. Featuring music by Travis Reaves. Produced by Ella Watts and Pacific S. The silence from the Johnson farm confirmed Emma's suspicions. The whole county now saw her as the angel of death. A midwife lost a child or a mother from time to time—it was inevitable over the course of twenty years—but this menagerie of deaths, in less than a year, was another matter.“The Starsick”In the beginning the Johnsons didn't call on Emma to midwife Peggy's pregnancy, and she believed it was because of the string of deaths. The silence from the Johnson farm confirmed Emma's suspicions. The whole county now saw her as the angel of death. A midwife lost a child or a mother from time to time—it was inevitable over the course of twenty years—but this menagerie of deaths, in less than a year, was another matter.“It's Your Turn to Wear the Mask”A man decides to confront a strange figure who has been watching him and uncovers dark secrets about his past and his future.Warning: The Wicked Library is a horror fiction podcast created for a mature audience. Our stories contain graphic descriptions of pain, murder, violence, blood, betrayal, and inhumanity; monsters win, people die, and hope is often shattered. There is also beauty, heart, catharsis, and raw emotion. Fear may be deeply personal, but we all share it.If at any time a story takes you to a place too dark, turn on the lights, press pause, or press stop. And always remember, that unlike in the real world, these nightmares, and your participation in them, are under your control.Producer & Showrunner: Daniel Foytik Producer: Meg WilliamsArt Director & Executive Producer: Jeanette AndromedaResident Composer & Executive Producer: Nico Vettese, of We Talk of DreamsHosted by: Daniel FoytikArtwork: Jesse HawkeScore & Incidental Music: Nico VetteseMain Theme: “The Library Awakens” Nico VetteseFinal Audio Mix: Daniel Foytik, 9th Story Studios LLCGet your copy of The Wicked Library Presents: 13 Wicked Tales on Kindle, or in print.
