Neal Morse and Chester Thompson join the podcast to talk about the new band Cosmic Cathedral and their debut album 'Deep Water.' We also talk about Genesis, songwriting and more.
My guest for this episode is legendary guitarist Phil Keaggy. Phil has joined forces with Neal Morse, ex-Genesis drummer Chester Thompson, and noted session bassist Byron House to form a new prog rock supergroup called Cosmic Cathedral. The band's debut album, Deep Water, drops April 25 from Inside Out Music. Phil was kind enough to tell me how the project came about, the making of the record, his musical beginnings and more. Cosmic Cathedral rocks, swings, grooves, and is full of all the proggy goodness you'd expect from a project involving Neal Morse. PROG SUPERGROUP COSMIC CATHEDRAL RELEASING DEBUT ALBUM FEATURING NEAL MORSE…CHESTER THOMPSON…PHIL KAEGGY…BYRON HOUSE… ZOOM SPECIAL EDITION WITH EX GENESIS DRUMMER CHESTER THOMPSON ON INTERVIEWING THE LEGENDS Hello everyone and we are back for another edition of Interviewing the Legends… I'm your host Ray Shasho. How do you make an album that is different to what is usually expected of you? One answer is to work with musicians who also have decades of experience and worldwide recognition, plant a few seeds, then stand back and see what happens. For the Cosmic Cathedral project and their debut album ‘Deep Water', this is exactly what Neal Morse did, joining up with Chester Thompson, Phil Keaggy & Byron House. As Keaggy comments: “It was an honor to be invited and included in the making of the Deep Water project with Neal, Chester and Byron.” Much of the album was created from jam sessions where Morse's long-time audio partner Jerry Guidroz put the best parts together, then Morse and the band developed them into songs and epics. “Much of the album, and certainly “Time To Fly”, came directly from the jam sessions, where we were spontaneously creating in the room. Even a lot of the lyrics just came out of our mouths! It was amazing!” What resulted from all this was a more groove-orientated feel, which Morse calls a “prog meets yacht rock meets The Beatles” kind of album, with an unmistakable jazz fusion influence: “These guys are real groovers: even if they're playing proggy stuff, it has more of a Steely Dan feel to it, but when Phil and I start singing it sounds like The Beatles! In Deep Water, the ‘New Revelation' section is based on a jam that turned into something that could have been on a Sting album! So, there's a lot of variety here.” And Chester Thompson says, “I am super excited for people to hear this album. There was great communication between all the players. One of my favorite projects I've ever been a part of!” And coming from someone who's played with Genesis and Frank Zappa, that's quite a statement! The album will be available as a Limited CD Digipak, Gatefold 2LP & as Digital Album. This week I'm joined by drummer Chester Thompson. Chester is perhaps best known for his live work with Genesis and Phil Collins, but he has also worked with Frank Zappa, Weather Report, The Bee Gees, and The Pointer Sisters. He has a new jazz album out called “Wake-Up Call” and he joins me from Nashville to discuss it's “genesis” (see what I did there?). Anyway, Chester schools me in the ways of jazz, talks about his career, and indulges my Genesis fan-boy questions. Hope you enjoy. Instagram: @sendingsignalspodcastX: @signalspodcast

Tony Monaco began his keyboard life at age eight, on the accordion. When he was twelve, his destiny as a jazz organist was sealed when he first heard Jimmy Smith. An enthusiastic student, Tony began working in Jazz clubs as a teenager in his native Columbus, Ohio, guided by local organ gurus Hank Marr and Don Patterson. For further inspiration, he studiously absorbed the mastery of Jimmy McGriff, Richard "Groove" Holmes, Charles Earland, Jack McDuff, and Dr. Lonnie Smith. All would play a role in the development of his musical palette. On Tony's sixteenth birthday, his prayers were answered. He received an encouraging phone call from Jimmy Smith, who soon became his Mentor/Teacher. Four years later, Jimmy Smith invited Tony to play at his club in California--a peak lifetime experience for Tony. From 1980 to 2006, Tony stood by his family businesses and married to have three daughters, while running Monaco's Palace Italian restaurant for ten years while performing weekly in the lounge. Tony then entered the food brokerage industry peaking towards Torchbearer status with SYSCO Foods. Always inspired by music, Tony then went to work as an assistant Broadcast producer for a prominent ad agency learning his production skills and playing gigs at night to continue supporting his family. After graduating from college with a B.S.B.A. from Franklin University in 1989, Tony's occupation changed again to supervisor of Monaco Concrete (“my Father needed a good manager and my daughters were getting close to going to college!”). Tony now enjoys and concentrates on all his musical energies flourishing ultimately as he pursues his passions. In April 2000, Tony met fellow jazz organist Joey DeFrancesco, who offered to produce a debut CD for him. This collaboration resulted in the critically acclaimed "Burnin Grooves”. The international success of the recording served as the catalyst for regional and national tours. This success was followed by two more releases for Summit Records that received critical acclaim and significant sales, charting in the Jazzweek Top 10. In September 2003, Summit Records released "A New Generation”, a unique recording featuring both Tony's and Joey DeFrancesco's Trios. They recorded the project using two "Hammond-Suzuki New B3's" as Tony was awarded a major endorsement role with Hammond and Suzuki. As Tony's reputation has grown, he has been blessed to play with some of the greatest musicians in jazz, including Mel Lewis, Lewis Nash, Red Holloway, Plas Johnson, Sonny Fortune, Jon Faddis, Adam Nussbaum, Bruce Forman, Harvey Mason, Chester Thompson (drummer) Herlin Riley, Matt Wilson, Jeff Clayton, Terrell Stafford, Eric Alexander, Late Bobby Durham, Russell Malone, Peter Bernstein, Paul Bollenback, Bruce Forman, Kevin Mahogany, Victor Lewis, Pat Martino, Fareed Haque, and even George Benson. An ardent student of the organ, it's no surprise that Tony is an accomplished teacher as well. In addition to private students, classes and clinics, Tony has produced a series of instructional DVDs titled "Playing Jazz Hammond" that have quickly become indispensable for any serious student of the organ. Tony teaches Lessons online with a system he created giving lessons one on one online to anyone from anywhere around the globe! Presently, Tony maintains a busy schedule touring, including festival appearances, clinics, and workshops In 2007 he appeared on the cover of Keyboard Magazine. In April 2012, Tony released "Celebration Life * Love * Music, a two-disc set of all originals as he continues to Celebrate his Musical gifts and shares his skills with everyone. Tony's drive as an innovator and missionary continues to carry forward his passion for the Hammond Organ. Now Executive Producer of the Summit Records subsidiary Chicken Coup Records, he has recorded and released CDs for several undiscovered organists around the globe, and his role as an educator has allowed him to spread and cultivate many new hopefuls to the art of the jazz organ. In 2014 Tony released Furry Slippers with fellow guitarist Fareed Haque and Drummer Greg Fundis! Topping the Jazz and College charts and gaining several reviews! Tony continues his mission to raise awareness and appreciation of the jazz organ and its importance in genres as diverse as traditional Gospel, RnB, and Modern Jazz. He is formulating new strategies and record deals using his network through Chicken Coup Records to help himself and his peers and students advance in this ever-changing music market and utilize new technologies and markets. Tony is a vital source of musical experience, knowledge, and humility ready, willing, and able !!! In 2017, Tony celebrated a special anniversary, celebrating 50 years as a musician! In January 2019, Tony released his 11th Internation release "The Definition of Insanity" on his Chicken Coup Records label. He will be recording his second venture with Drummer great Steve Smith and Guitarist Vinny Valentino as Groove Blue Trio Tours Russia and Europe! Tony's looking forward to recording both new Instructional Vids as well as New Music while touring globally! In this episode, Altin shares his background, education, and musical journey.

Artists making music without rules or limits set the tone for the advent of the Progressive Rock era!Genesis didn't set the world on fire at the start (not unlike other progressive pioneers), but their influence grew and changed through their early phase, even after Peter's solo departure. Like some of their contemporaries, the lineup that made the band's mark isn't the one they start out with. The Imbalanced Boys dig into that aspect, among other things related to the days from inception through Peter Gabriel's answering of his solo calling. On this old but new episode, Terrence looks at an overlooked Genesis classic from 1978 entitled And Then There Were Three which was originally recorded in 2018 but was not happy with original intro where I regrettably attacked Andrew Jacobs (that intro is now GONE FOR GOOD) and now replaced with rant on some music genres and The Last Domino Tour and screwing Chester Thompson out of the last Genesis Tour. This week is the Season 1 finale. My guest is Tom Politzer. Tom is the lead tenor saxophone player for the funkiest band around TOWER OF POWER. Their website is https://towerofpower.com/ Tower just celebrated 50 years as a band and just released an incredible live album 50 Years of Funk & Soul: Live at the Fox Theater This album captures Tower of Power's storied career with two no-holds-barred victory lap concerts in Oakland, CA on June 1 & 2, 2018, performing their full spectrum of life-affirming funk and soul hits. This historic concert includes special guests Chester Thompson, Lenny Pickett, Francis ‘Rocco' Prestia, Bruce Conte and Ray Greene. Tom was born in Detroit, Michigan the home of Motown and was raise in Palo Alto, Calif. His parents were opera lovers, so he grew up with a strong background in classical music. He took up the clarinet when he was ten and became very proficient playing in the school bands and with local youth orchestras. Half-way through his junior year in high school, the Jazz Band needed someone to fill the baritone sax chair. He was skeptical, but playing Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich and especially “Squib Cakes” by Tower of Power convinced him. Had he not made the switch; he probably would have not become the professional musician he is today. Tom has been a member to Tower of Power for 20 years now. He is part of a fraternity of amazing lead tenor players. Lenny Pickett, Marc Russo, Richard Elliot, Brandon Fields, and Davin Mann to name a few. The lead tenor chair in Tower is one of prestige and honor and Tom has filled that chair with his amazing sound and the hippest licks on every song. The leader of Tower of Power Emilio Castillo, was instantly impressed with Tom and his professionalism and if you watch their shows, he glows with pride every time Tom plays a solo. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/yoel-hyman/support

Drumming great CHESTER THOMPSON is an icon of progressive music. He's well-known for his work with Zappa, Weather Report, and Genesis, and we touch on all of that. (Back in 1977, my dad took me to see Genesis at MSG - Chester's first time in NYC with the boys - and that's just how far back my history with Chester goes.) It's an honor to welcome Chester Thompson to The ProgCast!
I was still a Young Man When I was working @ tower records following a stint @ Boston University in the late nineties when I came across a compact disc of a band that seemed to fit inside the Jake Feinberg pocket. Nice melodies, contrapuntal piano techniques, power horns and the funk drumming. It was harder soul then the Temps and more modal then the Brubeck/Desmond/Guaraldi Tjader Jazz across the Bay. They had infectious hooks, polyrhythmic percussion and messages that spoke to the changing dynamic of cities and the soul circuit of music as a conduit to magic. My guests drumming chops came from his work with Tower of Power but it also came in the form of Jacks on Sutter, The Vizedero, Jimbo's Bop City, The El Matador, the Black Saint and all his pocket trap buddies.....Eddie Moore, Gaylord Birch, Mike Clark, Eddie Marshall, Dick Berk Greg Errico and Jerry Granelli. Being able to play live for nights a time in Japan town with some sticky sake and udon noodles next to Chester Thompson ambidextrous organ, Greg Adams trumpet or Lenny Williams urban renewal of the Oakland Stroke. San Fran gets all the pub but Oaktown is the gritty dirty scrappy step brother who over performs and out maneuvers it's more glitzy neighbor. Don't change horses in midstream because the hot bet is on the boogie down east bay grease that cooked that stew of Sly Stone, The Fillmore District and East Side San Jose and Barry Bonds. My guest today is in the same master drumming discussion as the aforementioned cats as well as Mickey Roker, Lenny White, Bernard Purdie and Jim Keltner. He has the chops to play in any musical setting because he can feel and is sensitive to the bump city that might be on the 1/3 or the 2/4 or a quick hop skip over to the BART station to learn some drumming techniques from the birds on hippie hill. He's open to playing if the music is good just like Taj Mahal or Sam Lay or Michael White. He's open to painting the rhythm and hue because let's face it- the books still being written...David Garibaldi welcome to the JFS...... --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jake-feinberg/support
I have long sought after Chester Thompson. The guy moved from Ok. City to San Francisco to live the gypsy life. After night gigs at "Jack's on Sutter" and the Fillmore District he was back in a San Francisco bank singing "Your Still A Young Man," which he late busted out with East Bay Funk outfit Tower of Power. He lived among the people and saw how Bill Graham would weave these tremendous multi-racial concerts (Malo, Black Jazz, Jefferson Airplane). You had Chicano, Blacks and Whites all showing up to the same gig. It was a positive Sly and the Family Stone attitude. Hunting and still Open....... "The struggle was actually the Jewel".... Enjoy this Treasure and thank you Chester, --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jake-feinberg/support

If you are an aspiring pro musician this is the episode to listen to. Steve is the zen master and provides nuggets of wisdom to level up your game. As a bassist, Steve Billman has been playing for over 40 years. Working with some of the finest musicians in the world, he has played with such greats as Frank Gambale, Tak Matsumoto, Mike Stern, Billy Cobham, Daniel Ho, Chester Thompson and Brian Bromberg. Steve has been involved with education for over 30 years. For 23 of those 30 years he has been connected with Los Angeles College of Music (formerly Los Angeles Music Academy), where he has been teaching in the Bass department as well as many of the All School Classes; teaching such subjects as Harmony and Theory, Ear training, Jazz Bass, Jazz History (which he wrote the online curriculum), Rhythm Studies, Ensemble Classes, Music Notation, Beginning Piano and Sight Singing for vocalists. He has also taught private lessons for most of his career, not only to bass players, but also drum and guitar students. Not only has he written the online Jazz History course for LACM, he has also written 6 quarters of Jazz curriculum for the bass department and 2 quarters of a bass “Rhythm Studies” class. This class deals with everything rhythmic, including odd meters, building the inner clock and exploring polyrhythm and metric modulation. Steve is passionate about his students. He has developed a teaching style that is all his own. He gives students the essential tools they need not only to be great musicians, but more importantly, he gives them the skills to be good people and to be successful in life. He encourages them to reach for their dreams and to be the best they can be. He gets them to establish a centered and focused work ethic that will serve them the rest of their days, helping them to discover who they are and helping them find their own musical voice, which is one of the reasons why he is so perfect for this podcast. First up for the “Chicks with Sticks” month is Nashville drummer, Kayleigh Moyer. The idea to do this series came from my friend Kenton Bell who had recommended that I check out Kayleigh and Elie Bertrand for podcasts. It started off as that only, until I started to consider the fact that I had not had a series in quite some time and the times I ran a series I really enjoyed having a common theme throughout. So with that I decided that I would put together a month of female drummers only and I decided to call it “Chicks with Sticks”. Kayleigh has quite a history with drums as it turns out. She studied with Chester Thompson since she was twelve years old and maintains the relationship to this day. Kayleigh shares her stories about what it was like to have him as his instructor, how it played a tremendous part in her moving to Nashville and even how he supported her outside of drumming as a true genuine friend as well. Chester Thompson is one of those drummers that I personally quite admire, for his playing abilities but also his storied career. For Kayleigh to have the opportunity to study with him for so many years is instrumental in her growth as a player and she attributes who she is on drums to his influence and direct tutelage. At 24 years old, Kayleigh carries a very solid career and she is a true musician in every sense of the word. After speaking with her, it seems that her focus with playing drums, is what I personally feel they do best and what makes the biggest impact overall, is supporting a band. It isn’t to say that she can’t blow chops and play flashy stuff, it is just that she doesn’t see that as being the main purpose for the instrument and it’s role musically. She has a great deal of sensitivity and wisdom with how she carries her playing and it makes sense that it is due to Chester’s great teaching and Kayleigh’s willingness and openness to grow into the player she is today. This interview also wanders into current events with passion projects and her current gig for hire in China. It turns out that she is quite enamoured by stringed instruments and finds herself in this musical landscape more times than not. She is also classically trained, so she has no issues with performing in an opera pit either. Overall, she is very well balanced in her knowledge and approach and it lead to some very interesting conversation. This is a fine first instalment of what will be a very exciting series for the podcast. Music provided for the special intro is performed by Oli Bernatchez. LOVECOVERS! A beautifully illustrated and expressed musical message of healing truth from preeminent and peerless jazz saxophonist Kirk Whalum arrives just in time for a world whose rhythm is more than a tad off-kilter. And at the heart of this homage to love, what else, the good news… the everlasting “Gospel” message of God’s covering and enduring love. Sync this with Kirk Whalum’s masterfully arranged and inspired saxophone reverie, a host of music’s most acclaimed instrumental talent (Paul Jackson, Jr., Chester Thompson, the late Ricky Lawson, John Stoddart, Kirk’s son Kyle, among others) and the contemporary Gospel stylings of Cedric and Victor Caldwell and you’ve got a stratospheric worship experience. And though Kirk’s matchless artistry is front and center on #LOVECOVERS, nuanced and stirring vocals abound with a stellar list of guests including Nia Allen, Ruby Camille, Donnie McClurkin, Wendy Moten, Kevin Whalum, plus Angie, BeBe, Carvin, and Debbie Winans. The album, like so many things in the journey God reveals, seemed like a simple collaboration. Gospel producers/composers/arrangers and Kirk’s personal friends Cedric and Victor Caldwell (Donnie McClurkin, Smokie Norful, CeCe Winans) had produced some covers of epic gospel songs that had not been released, and needed some additional artistry to bring them fully to life and thought Kirk was the answer. Kirk had met the Caldwells decades before at church camp the same year he met his future wife Ruby
Welcome back to another episode of the DrumGAB podcast. This weeks’ guest, Tim Buell, speaks to us from Nashville, TN. Episode four is quite anecdotal. It spirals into several rabbit holes throughout the interview and for the most part is completely spontaneous. Like all interviews that I perform, I always have notes and questions prepared for each podcast, however, on this occasion, I referred to them twice. Tim has such an interesting background with drums. The stories about his time in Belmont University are a definite highlight in this podcast episode. He studied under both Derico Watson and Chester Thompson, while at Belmont, among other teachers. Tim shares some of his experiences while studying with these two iconic players. In particular, the story about him and Chester is something you won’t want to miss. Tim also elaborates on the fine balance of being yourself as an artist and “getting the job done” as a Nashville session musician. We go pretty deep here, to say the least, and I believe we uncover some really interesting points of view that perhaps you, the listener, might take into consideration when you enter a studio or a live musical setting. Later on, we talk about the great Brian Blade. I don’t want to spoil anything here in the podcast notes but this story is the cherry on top with this episode. A close encounter with this magnificent drummer and how any great player can make any situation work for them. Finally, we wanted to promote Tim’s new Ableton Live video series titled “Ableton For the Working Drummer”. This video series that Tim has produced focuses primarily on how to run tracks in Ableton. Up until now, there haven't really been any resources, according to Tim, on how to run tracks in Ableton so he wanted to remedy that. Catch the video series, it will launch today, 01/25/17 and he will have this available for a limited time before he will take it down for further refinement. The track at the beginning of this episode is titled “Sides of the North” by Remedy Drive. Tim endorses Vic Firth and The Drum Wallet. I hope you enjoy the anecdotal nature of this interview and please subscribe and leave a review, every little bit helps!!
Welcome to the Guitar Speak Podcast! Today we conclude our two part interview with Australian guitarist David Moyse and follow his career post Air Supply. David went on to become an in demand session musician in Sydney, including playing on film scores for huge films such as Crocodile Dundee and Strictly Ballroom. David also shares about recording and touring as a member of the Hillsong worship team and Don Moen's band - which included Shelia E, Chester Thompson, Abraham Laboriel and Paul Jackson Jr. We also get a sneak peek at his solo album. David speaks candidly about faith, what it means to play as an extension of yourself and why he's still passionately creating music.
Though he’s played with everyone from The Fowler Brothers to Freddie Hubbard to Frank Zappa, Chester Thompson is best-known as the touring drummer for the progressive rock super group Genesis. A jazz drummer from the start, Thompson talks about how his playing large arenas actually makes it harder to get jazz gigs and why his trio albums are his labor of love. Intro: Kickin' it - Jeff Lorber
I attended Podcast Movement last week, and I am busting at the seems to tell you about it. To keep this short, here are my top memories and take always from Podcast movement. 1. The Door Key Was Branded Yeah, you know the magnetic door key. It had their logo on it. I often lose hotel keys and have to ask for another one. I didn't this week. What a HUGE first impression. I told Dan and Jared that there was so much icing on the Podcast Movement cake that you could not get a bad piece of cake. 2. The Michelangelo Line from Lou Mongello Lou Mongello is one of my favorite people. Lou is so authentic (you will see a theme here). In his keynote he just kept saying things that made me want to stand up and go "Preach On Lou!" (his talks was on Sunday). He said a line like, "When people came in to look at a new painting from Michelangelo they didn't go, "Great Painting - What brush did you use?" 3. Ejecting Bad Guests - Jordan Harbinger Jordan is like a Lioness guarding her cubs when it comes to his show. It's HIS show, and if you try to mess with HIS show he will kick you to the curb. Try to keep pimping your stuff on his show when he explained up front that the pimping (if any) would be done at the show and he will shut down the recorder and send you home. It's HIS show. 4. Aisha Tyler - It's MINE. This one really hit home with me. How many things are truly 100% YOURS. Aisha has like 37 roles on TV, movies, etc. Yet, she records, edits, tags, uploads, and writes notes for her podcast. Why? She admitted she is an workaholic (transparent), and she said with all of her roles, her podcast is the only thing that is 100% hers. When a listener said she talked too much when interviewing a guest she advised him to get his own show (where he could be a mime for an hour). 5. Great Content - Different Angles The combination of Lou Mongello (The Dean of Disney) and Aisea Tyler (a fanatic of the F word) was a bit of a whiplash, but it was AWESOME. Why? Because they both were hitting the same topics. Why? Because they are best practices. Don't get in it for the money. Be unique. Follow your heart. Make and learn from your mistakes. 6. Nice Flip Flops - Marc Maron I'm standing in the Stockyards restaurant and in walks Marc Maron. I felt like I was on his TV show. There he was in cut off jean shorts and flip flops. Marc is Marc. He's authentically Maron. What you see is what you get. What you get is funny. I apologized for him having to be interviewed in Cleveland where the DJ had his staff vomit in the studio (Marc refused to go in the room). He laughed. 7. Embrace Your Audience - Marc Maron There were tons of podcast "Celebrities" at this event. When Marc walked in, celebrity went to a new level. I felt honored to shake his hand. Later I saw where he took photo after photo with people who know like and trust him. 8. No Recording Devices - Really Sarah Koenig? You come to a podcast event and tell us to NOT record you? This left a bad taste in my mouth. It just seemed out of place. It seemed so ....RADIO. Afraid someone might post it to YouTube and you can't do the same presentation over and over? WOW. 9. Pat Flynn - How To Top A Delorean Pat Flynn did got me. At one point I actually thought the mighty Pat Flynn had lost his place in his presentation. Then an English accent came out of the speakers. I found out later that each time the English voice (inside Pat's head) was created by Pat pressing a button. This was hugely entertaining. Once it was over, and you just realized what you saw, the magnitude of preparation had to be insane. I once saw the band Genesis. Phil Collins and Chester Thompson did a 15 minute drum solo. Both men were completely 100% in sync. The longer it went on (with the beats getting more complex) the more mind boggling it became. Once it was over, you just kept asking, "How did they do that?" Pat, how did you do that? Pat entered the room with a movie and a Delorean at the New Media Expo. 10. I'm Getting Your Banner - Gary LeLeand I've always needed a backdrop for my office. Part of the icing of PM15 was the banners outside the doors. They looked awesome. Call me weird, but I really like the one with my name on it. So I asked after the last presentation if I could have the banner with my name on it. I asked different folks and they had to check some things. Later I was walking down the hallway and there was one of the creators of Podcast movement Gary LeLeand working with the banner. I asked him was he was up to and he said, "Getting your banner, do you have a screw driver on you?" I expected some hired hand to do this, not one of the co-founders. It was important to me, so it was important to them. Listening to what your audience wants, and giving it to them. That's good old Podcasting 101. 11. A Quick Handshake out the Door - John Lee Dumas I was watching a keynote on Sunday when I felt a hand on my shoulder, I turned around and there was John Lee Dumas extending his hand. He said, "I'm taking off it was great to see you." I am a big fan of JLD. He is the energizer bunny of podcasting. His combination of talent, charisma, dedication, and delivery have served him well. He is the poster child of, "It is possible to make money with podcasting." If I had a nickle for every time someone said the words "John Lee Dumas" at this convention I would be rich as well, John Lee Dumas. I had wanted to hang out with him at the Stockyards, but silly me, there were two additional rooms that I never discovered (and all of my friends apparently were in those rooms). When I was an award winning customer service representative I discovered that its the little things that mean alot - like a handshake out the door. 12. Life is Like a Box of Chocolates - Glenn the Geek I will be interviewing Glenn next week. Glenn is the man behind www.horseradionetwork.com and while Glenn was not even supposed to talk, he did an impromtu speech on Friday that blew me away. I can't wait to interviewing him, and share his story. He has been podcasting for 8 years, and it is his full time gig. I can't wait for you to meet him. 13. UBER I went to lunch with David Hooper and Mark Johansen. I was courageous enough to take up Dave's offer to get an uber for us. It was a great experience. Paul Colligan heard me tell him about it, so he sent me a link to get me $20 off my first ride. This proved again that you pay with things in two currencies money or time. It would've cost me an extra 20 to take Uber to the airport, but Paul's coupon took that away and instead of waiting for the shuttle, to then wait for the shuttle to fill up, I got to sleep more.
