We're back off the beaten path, with a tie-in to the Death of Doctor Strange storyline... which, features our flagship team... but, is really more a backdoor pilot for a follow-up to 2021's Black Knight: Curse of the Ebony Whateverthehell miniseries. Our favorite mutants are here, yes... but, honestly, (up until a reveal in the very last panel) it could've very well been ANY Marvel heroes. It's well-told and beautiful though - just not as X-Relevant as I was hoping! -- Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/xlapsed X-Lapsed Voicemail: 623-396-5375 (or, 623-396-JERK) Twitter: @acecomics / Instagram: @90sxmen weirdcomicshistory@gmail.com chrisandreggie.podbean.com The All-New, All-Different chrisisoninfiniteearths.com facebook.com/groups/90sxmen

The X-Men were revolutionized in 2000 with the return of legendary author Chris Claremont. Introducing new villains, new characters, and pursuing new character paths, Claremont's Revolution stands as an odd period in X-history. In this episode, I breakdown how X-Men: Black Sun is the secret beginning of that era and is, perhaps, better than we all think it is.
The Batwoman TV series is on the horizon, so Andrew, Mick and Rob thought it would be interesting to explore the character's rather strange history, and in order to do that we have to go back to the original Batwoman, which isn't the current Batwoman. It was mainly Andrew's idea. With a confusing cast of characters that includes the original Batwoman, Bat-girl, the current Batwoman, Batgirl (not a typo), Batman, Robin, the other Robin, Robin who used to be Batgirl, Superman, Superboy who grew up to be Superman, Bat-Mite, Ace the Bat-Hound, Krypto the Super-Dog, Supergirl, and Comet the Super-Horse (who is officially the worst), it's time to get a nice ball of string and head to the crazy wall. After sanity returns it's time for us to talk about the things we've been reading, which this week are Aliens: The Essential Comics Volume 1 (Outbreak, Nightmare Asylum and Earth War), Aliens: Dust To Dust, Mind MGMT by Matt Kindt, the second volume of Aposimz by Tsutomu Nihei, and X-Men: Black. The 2018 San Diego Comic Con is now officially in the rear view mirror, and while there wasn't a TON of X-related news coming out of the event, there were certainly a few big tidbits worth discussing. So join us as we offer our thoughts on the two new X-titles announced by Marvel - the relaunch of "Uncanny X-Men," and the villain-centric "X-Men: Black." Plus, we take a look at the brand new trailer for season two of Fox's THE GIFTED. Can the sophomore season maintain the momentum of last season's much improved final third? This trailer is our first potential peek at the answer. Plus, we talk about the newly revealed (alleged) release dates for NEW MUTANTS and X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX, and once again speculate on the future of the X-Men movie franchise in its current form. And, in another installment of Mutant Match-Up, a classic X-Force member and the most famous Morlock of them all go head to head in an unexpected culinary based showdown.
