Paul and Mesh begin with some MCU updates: Daredevil's director Yann Demange being the second director to bow out of the project; and RDJ stating that he's open to reprising his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man. Next, they dive into Gina Carano's wrongful termination and discrimination lawsuit which stems from her being left out of Season 3 of the Mandalorian. Finally, Paul breaks down a recent lawsuit by the members of the 1983 Men's NCAA Basketball champion NC State Wolfpack against the NCAA for a share of NIL compensation. As a podcast there are some comics we've had yet to review even after 200 episodes. One of those being an Iron Man book. Tony Stark - Iron Man, billionaire industrialist and director of S.H.I.E.L.D. - faces the most overwhelming challenge of his life. Ezekiel Stane, the son of Tony's late business rival and archenemy Obadiah, has set his sights, his genius and his considerable fortune on the task of destroying Tony Stark and Iron Man. What's worse, he's got Iron Man tech, and he's every bit Iron Man's equal and opposite...except younger, faster, smarter...and immeasurably evil. After the cinematic lows of The Amazing Spider-Man series it was time for another Spider-Man reboot, this time by folding him into the MCU. After his first apperance as Peter Park in Captain America: Civil War, Tom Holland got his own (sort of) movie dealing with the trials and tribulations of being a high school superhero. Going up against Michael Keaton's Vulture and his terrible surrogate dad in Tony Stark/Iron Man the film did a great job at youthifying the franchise and taking the character in a new direction. Which some people like and some people don't. Ten years ago, audiences were treated to what would be THE final stand-alone movie focused on the character of Tony Stark/Iron Man played by Robert Downey Jr.....and for his solo swan song, he helped bring over an old friend to direct, Shane Black. Black had previously directed RDJ in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang eight years prior, a dark action comedy which is among several notable entries in the buddy cop drama written by Black including the original Lethal Weapon. Also returning for this "three-quel" are the previous Iron Man films are Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, and Jon Favreau.....now facing off a couple of new villains played by Guy Pearce and Sir Ben Kingsley. The story focuses on a dangerous new technology developed by one of Stark's rivals which he must face head-on....often without the help of his Iron Man suit no less. And what results is a superhero epic which is fast, funny, action-packed....and takes place during Christmas, go figure!Host: Geoff Gershon Editors: Geoff and Ella GershonProducer: Marlene Gershonhttps://livingforthecinema.com/Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/Living-for-the-Cinema-Podcast-101167838847578Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/livingforthecinema/Letterboxd:https://letterboxd.com/Living4Cinema/

I share my backstory, useful resources I've found most helpful, and the importance of just living despite herpes.

Have you ever concerned yourself with the psychological profile of one Anthony E. Stark? In today's episode, Kyle comments on the tiredness of the war against mothers who don't breastfeed while Jackie is tired of Kanye (hard stop). Jackie, in a professional and very methodical way, walks us through possible diagnoses and treatments of Tony Stark/Iron Man. Is he full of himself like a Narcissist? Or is there something more under that cold, hard (giggity), ferrous surface? You'll also catch hot takes about Gwyneth Paltrow (which aren't great), EMDR, and the introduction of Would You Rather (Two Tired Therapists edition). Full on spoilies for many movies in the MCU. Don't forget to reach out to us on Facebook (Two Tired Therapists), Instagram (@TwoTiredPod), or Gmail (twotiredtherapists@gmail.com). The Summer of Spidey rolls onto my look at Spiderman Far from home. Set months after Tony Stark/Iron Man's death Peter Parker is heartbroken and shellshocked unsure IF he can be an Avenger which he dreamed of being not 9 months earlier. Too bad Mysterio has other plans to take his place using his hologram tech to fool the world he is a superhero. All the while he and his schoolmates are on a class trip to Europe. Anyway don't forget to like, share, comment and subscribe. Twitter: @heresjohnnyspod

Are people solving the wrong problems in their life due to ignorance or because the real problems that need attention are too much to handle? Is it that likes, income, affiliation, grandiose behaviour and more, deter us from solving the problem that will give us freedom and an improved state of mind? In this episode we look at the infamous Tony Stark (Iron Man) to see where he would rather save the world than solve his own problems which appears to leave him rich, famous, powerful and also lonely, neurotic, and unhappy. In the third season of The Enneagram in a Movie podcast, Mario Sikora and TJ Dawe are joined by TJ Ingrassia to explore themes related to the Enneagram in a variety of movies, starting with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They examine “Iron Man,” focusing on the character, Tony Stark/Iron Man, as Enneagram Type Seven, “Striving to Feel Excited.” They also discuss how the various Enneagram types play into the group dynamic of “The Avengers,” specifically with Iron Man and Captain America.“I think one of the unfair depictions of Sevens in some of the Enneagram literature is that they're either not that smart or they're frivolous or they don't finish things. Sevens don't finish things when they get bored with them, so they take on things that are really interesting challenges.” - Mario Sikora [17:29]“The symbolic value of shrapnel in his chest that's traveling towards his heart and this magnet that keeps it at bay is very similar, like a symbolic equivalent to Seven's relationship to pain and anxiety.” - TJ Dawe [22:08]“I think this film is mostly pitting Tony Stark and his style against Steve Rogers/Captain America and his style, and as the resident Type One here, I can attest that Cap is about the One-est One who's ever One-d.” - TJ Ingrassia [37:32]TIMESTAMPS[00:01] Intro[00:57] What to expect in Season Three[01:50] The Marvel Cinematic Universe[03:39] Jon Favreau's directing career[04:54] Enneagram Types in the Marvel Universe[06:05] An overview of “Iron Man”[10:37] Tony Stark as Enneagram Type Seven[19:25] An excerpt from “Instinctual Leadership”[22:56] Other Enneagram types in the movie[28:05] Next movie: “The Avengers”[33:59] Two cameos[37:14] Iron Man vs Captain America[44:00] Nick Fury's Enneagram type[47:46] Bruce Banner's Enneagram type[50:29] Other characters' Enneagram types[51:54] Clash of leadership styles[56:22] Summer Blockbusters as a Type Seven[59:03] OutroConnect with us:Awareness to ActionEnneagram on Demand The Awareness to Action Enneagram PodcastMario Sikora: IG: @mariosikoraWeb: mariosikora.comTJ Dawe:Web: tjdawe.caTJ Ingrassia:Web: tjingrassia.comYouTube: @TypeCast

Peter Sena is todays guest joining us on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots podcast. Pete is a design-led entrepreneur who loves to partner with future-forward founders, entrepreneurs, and business leaders to unlock new possibilities and growth. At nine years old, Pete was the kind of kid who found taking computers apart and putting them back together fun. A digital native on steroids, “Pete the Geek” started coding at 13, consulted for global companies in high school, and launched Digital Surgeons from his dorm room. Digital Surgeons, a forward-obsessed brand experience consultancy. But what is being forward-obsessed all about. He chooses to place his passionate, purpose-driven focus on leveraging the power of design and technology to make the world a better place. This is Pete's Ikigai — the thing that gets him out of bed in the morning. As he says “My heart would always would start beating faster when it came to art and technology. How The Dots Joined Up For Pete My coding and design skills became my ticket to college. Ready for a mentor but not sure how to find one, I turned to geniuses, innovators and billionaires both real — Steve Jobs — and fictional, like my old favourite, Tony Stark (Iron Man) for inspiration. But the one thing i knew more than anything was by improving people's businesses and increasing their bottom-lines with next-level design, I could help people and organizations build affluence and influence — so they can pay their success forward. Helping as many people and businesses as possible use their power for good. So why has he been driven so much to help the world, when so many business owners are all about me, me, me? And what was it about a talk by the pretty unknown Brene Brown that truly changed his life forever? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Pete Sena
This week we go from Peking to Duck (literally), and we are sure you're going to find the tastiest treats anywhere. We take you crashing down a staircase with a wireless data communication company, add more evidence for spellchecking your child's tweets, and an idea why this team won't be looking like Tony Stark (Iron Man) any time soon. We give you a light pole update. Yes, we got that right, a light pole update. And what college students should do quickly if the school they are going to, or even applied to, is one of those caught up in the Accellion file transfer software compromise. We finish with something that we thought was pretty cool… It's almost the gamification of tracker blocking. We loved it for Android and iOS and we think you will too. OK dinner guests. We will be finishing indomitable self-confidence month with looking at the A line in the model this week, and then the F line next week. To illustrate this, we will be making a comparison of Tony Stark (Iron Man) and Steve Rogers (Captain America.). Sean answers your Marvel questions! 0:43 Kerry VanderbergHi Sean, I hope you are doing well. What are some of your “must-haves” in the new era of X-Men films which you want to see once they are introduced into the MCU? A few for me are: a more drawn out fight between Wolverine and Sabretooth where they actually get to slash each other up (which they had the perfect opportunity to do in LOGAN, but missed out by not bringing back Leiv Schreiber); Rogue somehow getting her flight and super-strength powers; and for them to plant the seeds of the larger mythology with Cyclops and Jean, where their offspring (Cable) would become the one who can truly defeat Apocalypse in the future. This involves a lot of players including Mr. Sinister, Stryfe, Apocalypse, and should be a long-game plan. Personally, I would hope to see them build up to an adaptation of the X-Cutioner's Song Saga, and play up the mystery that Stryfe is a clone of Cable. Although most important I supposed would to see the X-Men working together as a TEAM. What are your thoughts?8:58 Kerry VanderbergWhat do you think are the missed opportunities for Spider-man from the Amazing Spider-Man films? Personally I didn't like either film, and the only thing that I was excited for before ASM 2 came out was Shailene Woodley's casting as Mary Jane. Personally I thought she was pitch-perfect casting, as I would see her in interviews (particularly one with Conan O'Brien), and I thought her natural personality in that interview matched MJ perfectly. So I was bummed when she was cut out, but I doubt her appearance would have made much of a difference for that film anyways. In any case, that is one where if there was a way to de-age Shailene Woodley to match Tom Holland's age, I would prefer to see her cast as Mary Jane in current era of Spider-man, but I doubt that will happen either. What did you think about Shailene Woodley's casting at the time, and what do you think were the missed opportunities with that version of Spider-man (other than ASM 2 simply not being a good movie)?15:19 Kerry VanderbergWhat types of movies do you go to when you have finished an MCU/superhero movie marathon or re-watch? Do you have a “palette cleanser” of sorts? Some of my favorite non-superhero genres are crime dramas, spy thrillers, and sci-fi films. While obviously the MCU has done a great job in intermixing multiple genres in their films, sometimes it's great to go to a stand-alone film like LA Confidential or Interstellar for a change of pace. Any recent ones you've discovered or revisited?18:20 Mookie JohnsonGiven your report on the Daily Bugle yesterday, I kept waiting for you to say that "the Oscars want the Avengers to come save the day" or something like that... maybe i'm the only one who hears these bad jokes in my head.Anywho, Do you think there's any chance that comes with any promotional reveals like a costume, trailer, behind-the-scenes, etc.?Also do you think the actors would be themselves for the segments or would they be in character? For example, would the title card say Robert Downey jr. And he is being himself, or might he come out in an Iron Man suit and be acting as Tony Stark/Iron Man?If it is the latter, would they not have dusted characters present?21:33 Woo S! KimNow that we are closer to the launch of Disney Plus and the FOX/Disney merger coming to a close, where do you think the place of Marvel TV within Disney will be especially since sites like The Wrap and The Hollywood Reporter which I know can be cold and hot on these stories sometimes especially when there is not a lot of information, but they have reported over the last month or so that Marvel Studios is going to do quite a bit of live action content on Disney Plus, do you think that Marvel Animation that is under the Marvel TV umbrella will do a lot more exclusive animated films, for Disney Plus? Also, I have been thinking this for a couple of days now, and you have touched on this in the past, has your mode of thinking altered in that Marvel Studios series will stay primarily on Disney Plus which will be a big selling point to the casual non geek audiences to get Disney Plus subscriptions and Marvel TV will primarily produce shows for Freeform and FXX as well as “Agents of Shield” on ABC?29:94 AlexHey Sean can I ask how you'd prefer MCU Sue Storm be portrayed in comparison to the Fox-versions played previously by Kate Mara and Jessica Alba respectively? In my mind, Sue should be confident and assertive, while also being a complete badass. And also I would like for the MCU to have Sue Storm be among the strongest and most dangerous characters in the universe. Sue is already the most powerful member of the FF30:05 AlexForgive me if you've been asked this question before but for the MCU do you think the best approach for realizing the Thing in live-action is putting the actor in a Mo-Cap suit like we've seen done for Hulk and Fan4stic or would would you prefer old-school practical thing like makeup/prosthetics like we've seen done before with the Tim Story movies and most recently with the Skrulls?31:56 David RosenHey Sean, I've been holding onto this question for a while now, mainly because it has more to do with Disney-Fox than the MCU, but with the launch of your new Star Wars podcast, I figured this is the right time to ask. Once the deal goes through, can you see, and/or would you prefer, Disney putting the Fox fanfare back in front of Star Wars movies and/or new tv shows? That fanfare is so iconic, that whenever I hear it, my mind automatically jumps to the opening Star Wars theme right after hearing it. Plus, like the MCU fanfare, I've become conditioned to get excited for whatever is about to come after it. When I saw Force Awakens and Last Jedi, I couldn't help but feel like something was missing at the beginning of those movies and it just didn't feel right hearing the opening Star Wars theme without the Fox fanfare in front of it.34:34 David RosenOn a separate note, between all you do for this podcast, writing for the MSN website, the new Fandalorians podcast, your twitter activity, reading for the Marvel unlimited bookclub, and keeping up with everyone on the Discord, I seriously have no idea how you have the time to do all of it. You're not secretly in possession of a time stone that gives you more hours in a day, are you? If so, quit holding out on the rest of us. Not cool. Seriously though, I'm super impressed with and thankful for all you do for your fans and creating this little community of ours that we have going. I'm also really looking forward to the podcast's leadup to Avengers End Game, so thanks as always and keep it up!39:30 David RosenAnother Marvel/Star Wars question: As they are both coming our this year, and will both be serving as conclusions of sorts to their respective franchises, which movie do you think has more riding on it, Avengers Endgame or Star Wars Ep. 9? Also, which movie do you think has more pressure to succeed?46:20 Hector Giovanni NavarreteHey Sean hope you and all my fellow Patrons have a great weekend! So I have heard great things of Jonathan Hickman's FF comic series! What is your take on it? Why would you recommend this series for someone to read?48:06 Hector Giovanni NavarreteFavorite MCU costume? Don't know if this has been asked before.49:30 Hector Giovanni NavarreteYour personal favorite funniest moment/joke in the MCU?51:04 Michael Louis WeaselboyHey Sean hope your weekend is going good, my question is about the X-Men in the MCU, first off who do you think should be the villain in the first X-Men MCU film?? Who would you cast as that character?? What would be the lineup you would pick? And finally who would you cast as them?? Thanks for all that you do and I hope you have a nice weekend.54:16 AlexOut of all the Fox movies that was currently in development before the Disney deal was announced that we know of like the Doctor Doom film, Kitty Pyrde film, or the Gambit film which movie would you most want to be saved and be re-purposed to fit in the MCU and which project would you most like to see Marvel abandon?56:20 AlexIf Spider-Man was to leave the MCU after ‘Far From Home' what do you think will be the biggest missed opportunity that comes with Spider-Man's MCU tenure coming to an end? For myself it would be Spider-Man not being in the MCU long enough to be able to meet/interact with Fox characters like Wolverine and Johnny Storm. I want Spider-Man to meet the Fantastic Four on screen before I die. I want that so badly.58:48 AlexJeremy Conrad and Christopher Marc(former Editor-In-Chief of a scoop site called Omega Underground) have been insistent that both Dark Phoenix & New Mutants will see a theatrical release even when Disney takes over and I have to wonder what you you think if both Dark Phoenix & New Mutants gets delayed again? Would you still be somewhat confident Disney would release those movies despite the mutiple delays based soley on that report by the Wall Street Journal that Disney will release those movies no matter what? I can't shake this sneaking feeling that something is going to happen with these movies soon.1:04:42 Liam HeslinHi Sean and fellow Patrons, hope everyone is having a nice start to their weekend. I saw a tweet on Friday from Daniel Richtman saying any Fox movie not already in production (like Dark Phoenix and New Mutants) will likely be scrapped when the Disney-Fox deal finally closes. My question is what do you think this means for a potential X-Force movie? I was under the impression that Fox has Josh Brolin and Zazi Beetz locked up for more movies and even if X-Force is delayed will those contracts get handed over to Disney after the deal? Thanks as always for answering our questions and creating such an awesome community for Marvel fans.1:08:37 Alex WardDo you think Marvel Studios would consider doing reshoots of New Mutants to make it their own? I think the casting was perfect so I would hate to see it go to "waste". The only downside to that idea I can think of is that it would probably interfere with their overall X-plans. Also, what do you think of the casting and roster of New Mutants?1:10:37 Alex WardAlso, we've talked before about how the timing of the Fox deal will likely prevent certain characters from ever being able to interact. For example, if Cap dies in Endgame, he'll never meet Wolverine, and so on. What character interactions between current MCU characters and FF/X-Men characters are you most hoping to see? I just have one: Spidey and Human Torch, maybe with them both going to the same high school!1:13:08 Alex Ward]In-universe, are the MCU heroes having adventures between the movies, maybe even against other villains, or are we seeing all of their heroics onscreen? I know it's implied that characters like Loki and Thor were up to something before Ragnarok, but for other characters it's not so clear. For example, it's hard for me to infer whether Cap, Natasha, Falcon and the gang were doing any missions while in hiding.1:14:49 Alex WardThis sort of has to do with the previous question: how would you feel about an MCU "canon" similar to what Star Wars does, in which all the books, comics, video games, and other supplemental materials are now canonical? I know we have the tie-in comics, and that these characters *came* from comics, but I think they're such significant pop culture characters that they now transcend any specific media format. I know we have books like Thanos: Titan Consumed, but while it takes place within the MCU, it's been clearly described as non-canonical.1:20:42 Woo S! KimWhat do you think of the possibilities that the post credit scene in "Avengers: Infinity War" where Hill and Fury are driving take place after the events of "Spider-Man: Far From Home?" also I wou be shocked if I am the only one that's thought of that. With the biggest Marvel film to date opening this week, our team decided to tackle the most important elements going into Avengers: Infinity War! In part 2, James, Skid and Andy discuss "Captain America: Civil War,” its source material in the comics, and its possible role as it relates to Avengers: Infinity War! In this episode, they discuss the following questions: In the seven issue miniseries "Civil War," the inciting incident is an explosion that killed children at a school because of the inexperience and negligence of young super heroes starring in a reality T.V. show. However, in the film, it is the culmination of continued human collateral damage sustained in battles between the Avengers and their adversaries in New York City (AVENGERS), Washington D.C. (CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER), Sokovia (AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON), and Nigeria (CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR) that leads to the U.S. government's super-hero registration act. Is there a storytelling advantage to having the inciting incident be a culmination of events over several films leading to CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR? In the comic series, the argument is over registration. Like, licensing someone to use their powers. In the film, Captain America frames it differently, because it's about their freedom of choice. In the series, Tony Stark essentially becomes a villain, while Cap becomes a hero. Does this work in the comics? Does it work differently or more or less effectively in the film itself? Marvel Studios made a deal with Sony to include Spider-Man in CAPTAIN AMERICAN: CIVIL WAR. Is Spider-Man's presence in the film necessary to tell the story, or was it Marvel Studios sole purpose to introduce the character in order to setup SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING? The film establishes Captain America as the protagonist of the film. However, it is Tony Stark/Iron Man that has the greatest emotional arc. After seeing the film, there were people who considered themselves "Team Captain America" and others "Team Iron Man." Does the confusion on which Avenger is the protagonist help or hurt the film? From a character stand point, it seems that the Marvel Cinematic Universe may have switched its lead character. In the beginning, it was Iron Man, and that's clearly the case through the first AVENGERS film. But by the end of CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, it appears that Captain America has taken center stage in the MCU. Did you agree or no, and if you do, how or when do you think this happened? BONUS QUESTION: What are your thoughts, hopes, and/or predictions going into AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR? Please leave us a review and subscribe to the podcast! #MovieReview: Spider-Man: Homecoming After two reboots, and film live action films, Spider-Man has finally made his way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Played this time around by newcomer Tom Holland, Marvel Studios in a joint venture with Sony Pictures brings us a new #Spiderman solo adventure. Taking place just after the events of Captain America: Civil War, the 15 year old Peter Parker AKA Spider-Man finds himself trying to desperately prove to Tony Stark/Iron Man that he is worthy to be an Avenger alongside the other heroes. When a new villain known as the Vulture (Michael Keaton) arises and is stealing high end tech from around NYC and using it for nefarious means Spider-man sets off to stop him and prove his worth. The film does a wonderful job of balancing time between the super heroics and his normal high school life. Tom Holland manages to bring laugh out loud moments to the hilarious character who is constantly trying to figure this whole superhero thing out. Director Jon Watts shows us just what a John Hughes movie would feel like in the modern age of superheroes. Cast: Tom Holland Michael Keaton Robert Downey Jr. Jon Favreau Zendaya Marisa Tomei Jacob Batalon Budget: $175 MillionThis show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5939723/advertisement
