Maddy, Ryan, and Todd manage to finish their review of X-Men Apocalypse (2016), and they're all the worse for wear. What even happens in the second half of this movie? An extensive Weapon X section in which Wolverine runs around murdering people and running into the child version of Jean Grey, who might fall in love with him, except she's busy taking secret phone calls from Xavier, who's trying to avoid Apocalypse's Freaky Friday body switch plan. Cairo gets destroyed and Storm ends up attending Xavier's school because she doesn't have much else to do, and she also doesn't have any lines. Quicksilver is also here for all of this, and we don't know why. Next week's episode: The X-Men anime! Finally, we've reached the final X-Men movie directed by Bryan Singer, although the fact that we have Dark Phoenix (2019) does not comfort us very much. Maddy, Ryan, and Todd collectively lose their minds over the sheer volume of characters in this movie, and the number of scenes that don't matter at all to the plot but still didn't get cut out of the movie. This is only the first half of our journey, so we haven't even gotten to Weapon X yet, but please trust that we're already mad about it. According to the official "For Your Consideration" site, Disney is pushing for all of 2022's various Marvel Cinematic Universe installments to be considered for the Best Picture Academy Award. All three of the aforementioned movies are also targeting nominations for Best VFX, Best Director, Best Costume Design, Best Adapted Screenplay and many others. The Academy has yet to officially announce the nominees for 2023's ceremony but the final list of contenders will be unveiled in the coming months. Fans Are Roasting Marvel for Thor: Love and Thunder's Oscar Campaign https://www.cbr.com/fans-roast-marvel-thor-love-and-thunder-oscar/ Fans cannot believe that Marvel Studios submitted Thor: Love and Thunder to be considered for Best Picture at the Oscars. According to the official "For Your Consideration" site, Disney is campaigning for all three 2022 Marvel Cinematic Universe movies to be nominated for Best Picture. Fans were especially shocked to see Thor: Love and Thunder on the site, which many believe to be a weaker MCU film and a significant step down from its predecessor, 2017's Thor: Ragnarok. Disney submitted Love and Thunder for several other major awards as well, including Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best VFX. Angela Bassett Lands One of Black Panther 2's Two Golden Globe Noms https://www.cbr.com/angela-bassett-lands-black-panther-2-golden-globe-noms/ Angela Bassett has earned her second career Golden Globes nomination for her performance in the 2022 Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The nominations for the 80th Golden Globe Awards were announced on Dec. 12 by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, with Bassett receiving a Best Supporting Actress Performance in a Motion Picture nomination for her reprisal of Ramonda, the Sovereign Queen Mother of Wakanda, in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She will be competing against Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin), Jamie Lee Curtis (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Dolly de Leon (Triangle of Sadness) and Carey Mulligan (She Said) in the category. Bassett previously won the Golden Globes award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her performance in 1993's What's Love Got to Do with It. James Gunn's Thor/GotG Timeline Explanation Baffles MCU Fans https://www.cbr.com/james-gunn-thor-gotg-timeline-baffles-mcu-fans/ James Gunn's explanation for where Thor: Love and Thunder fits into the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline has left fans confused. Detail-oriented fans have pointed out that Thor had to have spent more than "a few weeks" as part of the Guardians of the Galaxy team, which he was seen joining at the end of Avengers: Endgame and leaving early in Love and Thunder. If Jane were "blipped" during Infinity War, this would mean that following her resurrection in Endgame, the Mighty Thor had time to be diagnosed with cancer and spent six months in treatment prior to the events of Love and Thunder. Many have suggested this would have to have occurred while Thor was with the Guardians, meaning his time with the team was much longer than a few weeks. Some enthusiasts stated that Love and Thunder appears to confirm the long-held fan belief that Jane was among those killed in the Snap by having Thor and Jane disagree about how long it had been since they last saw each other. Thor thinks it's about five years more than she does. However, others reject that as confirmation, instead seeing it as a joke about the pair's different attitudes towards their break up. Whether Jane was snapped is still hotly debated by fans, as there has been evidence on both sides. A tie-in novel for Avengers: Infinity War confirmed Jane and her friends Darcy and Dr. Selvig to all be among the survivors, while Endgame's script revealed Thor's beloved to be among the dead, alongside other characters whose confirmations never made it into the movie. These include the likes of Wong, Sharon Carter, and General Ross MCU – NON MARVEL STUDIOS SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE - Official Trailer (HD) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqGjhVJWtEg DISNEY+ Marvel's Wonder Man Series May Arrive in Late 2023 https://www.cbr.com/marvel-wonder-man-disney-plus-possible-release-date/ Marvel's planned Wonder Man show may have a release window that lands it on Disney+ sometime in late 2023. Andrew Guest, who joined the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe show as its head writer, listed on his Writer's Guild of America page that Wonder Man is scheduled to come out during the 2023-2024 season. Remember how frustrated we felt about the "Wolverine vs. Hulk" episode of Wolverine and the X-Men? We didn't know how much worse it could get. This 2009 straight-to-video precursor to the series we just completed is a slog, told out of order and packed with Weapon X flashbacks. Time for a mandatory episode in which Wolverine fights Sabretooth and has nine flashbacks to Weapon X. Nine! Nine flashbacks! We can't do this anymore, Logan. Neither can Hank, who gets a talking-to from Rogue for putting up with Logan's bullshit. Meanwhile, Kitty and Bobby are organizing the X-Mansion library according to how gay each book is, and we'd rather watch an entire episode about that. With training camp right around the corner, I take a look at the Denver Broncos offense. While the addition of Russell Wilson stifles the quarterback competition talk, there are plenty of things to discuss. The Denver Broncos receiving core seems solid at first glance, but Tim Patrick and Courtland Sutton seem to be the reason for that conclusion. When you talk about Jerry Jeudy, you have to ask if he can explode to greatness in his second year? Will the Broncos use KJ Hamler as a "Weapon X" type tool on the field? When it comes to tight ends, will Albert Okwuegbunam be able to lead the way?The running back room seems legit, as they have Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon. But don't expect the two backs to have and even split on carries. The big concern for the Denver Broncos offense has to be the offensive line. Mainly, Garett Bolles. If he can enter this season with a more matured mind, that will benefit the team tremendously - If not, he'll end up hurting the Broncos.
Chris, James, and James descend right down into the heart of misery itself. Do you trust the government? Should you? Should you when you know that we brought those Nazi scientists over and authorized them to perform secret experiments on the poor ruined body of an abuse victim? When we KNOW that that evil seeps everyday into our homes and into our bodies, destroying love? This isn't just any funny book ladies and gentlemen. This is the funniest book. "Please Tom, not now--I'm busy having sex with other men."

Maddy and Ryan review the pilot episode of Wolverine and the X-Men, which feels like X-Men Evolution, except now it's all grown up... and dealing with some serious political oppression. There are multiple flashbacks in this episode, and it moves fast, but somehow, it all works (maybe because these aren't Weapon X flashbacks again). Also, Beast and Wolverine are two gay dads and they do a prison break together and we love that for them. By the way, if you're a new listener, our mascot for the plugs section at the end of the episode is an anthropomoprhic butt plug named "Pluggy," and he's in this episode, and we don't explain it, because this is how our show goes. In the finale to our 3 part series, we take a look at the true, bloody birth of Wolverine and those bone claws we teased at the end of Part 2. This is probably our darkest episode yet. This episode covers issue #1-6 of Wolverine: Origins (2001).
We finish exploring the Weapon X Program, Wolverine's time BEFORE Weapon X, all the other Weapon Plus Programs, and further revelations about Wolverine's anatomy and abilities. Are you confused? Don't worry. Wolverine is too. This episode covers issues #80-84 of Marvel Presents Weapon X (1991), #1-4 of Further Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix (1996), #25 of X-Men (1993), and #48-50 of Wolverine (1991).
We begin our 3 part journey into Wolverine's complicated history through a chronological lens, combing through the nuggets of lore dropped for comic books readers as they came out. We explore his debut, the evolution of his established powers, and around half of the Weapon X program itself. This episode covers issues #181 of The Incredible Hulk (1974), #98 of the Uncanny X-Men (1976), and #72-79 of Marvel Presents Weapon X (1991).
Starting out slow this year, but we're back with more books! How many more issues until Alan Davis is back on Excalibur? Do we have to go another year of aimless drifting... Dr Doom betrays Excalibur, Generation X continues to float without direction, Weapon X is our new team on Exiles, and Polaris is character assassinated in X-Factor. Our heroes have seen better days. Join us as we strive to survive in the ... EVERYVERSE! It's Exiles (2001) #38, Excalibur #37 (1988), Generation X #26 (1994), and X-Factor 84 (1991)

Let me be clear, this man is one of the baddest dudes to ever play in the NFL, but that's not who he is. Football is what he did, but Brian is so much more than a football player. He carries that same passion into his next act. One Word, Legend. Without further ado, one of the greatest players to ever compete in the NFL, The iconic Brian Dawkins. Join your host Craig Siegel as he sits down with 9 time Pro Bowl NFL Legend, Hall of Famer, one of the greatest defensive players in the history of the sport, the most feared athlete to ever wear the iconic Philadelphia Eagles uniform, speaker, life coach, author and extraordinary competitor, the iconic Weapon X, Brian Dawkins. Brian elaborates on his intensity and passion for both football and life. Craig and Brian discuss how to channel built up anger and frustration and use it as fuel on the football field to dominate the opponent. They illustrate the impact of faith and how that and asking for support helped Brian climb out of his darkest days, as a rookie in the NFL. They talk the significance of a changing of perspective and how that creates clarity during the different seasons of life. Brian talks about the Beast Package and all the exciting things he has going on now. Craig and Brian showcase integrity and how doing what you said you were going to do is a choice and a lifestyle. Brian talks the origins of his alter ego, Weapon X aka Wolverine and dives in on how the locker rooms had a separate locker for Weapon X. They peel back the layers on taking a standing 8 count and taking a second to catch your breath and alter your perspective. They illustrate how most of success comes on the backside of pain. They speak about how people with no vision, will perish. It's the best podcast there is at what it does, and what it does best is tell you about Wolverine. Today's episode is our final Weapon X Revisited episode. We take an in depth look at the Weapon X prose novel. Don't call it a novelization of the timeless Barry Windsor-Smith series though. This novel, though faithfully adapting all the best parts of the comic expands on the science and the effects of the brainwashing in ways not yet explored in the comics!
