The “fake it til you make it” mentality is exhausting; both for the people faking it, and for those watching it too. I have been there; when I was first starting out my own leadership journey I was excellent at taking advice, but not discerning whether that advice or information was good for me or not. I was faking it until I made it. While I did make it, I know better now. Today I want to break it down in two different angles, and really help you realize that there's a better way through beginning your own leadership journey. That's why episode 149 of Becoming Iconic is about my preferred mentality: Faith it until you make it! In this episode of Becoming Iconic, I'm sharing the importance of being genuine and actionable steps you can take right now to avoid the “fake it til you make it” mentality. I cover some of the following topics: My personal story of faking it until I made it, and while it was successful, why I don't recommend it for you.How faking it until you make it creates an energy leak that prevents success. Why it's not Faking it until you make it, but Faith it until you make it.Why building a business built on integrity and faith is far more successful than one of any other falsities. It can be so difficult not to compare your business or journey with anyone else, but trust me on this: if you hold faith, and believe in yourself, you'll have a far more loyal and inspired community than any other way. This week's Soul Spark is all about pain point selling, and how we need to stop using pain points as a marketing strategy. I have created pain point selling in the past, and while I felt that those marketing strategies always came from the purest of places in my heart, I recognize now, years into entrepreneurship, that this is not the right way to sell to clients. It is an overly pronounced way of marketing in every industry and my hope is today's Soul Spark will allow a new way of marketing into your heart.Be sure to tune in to all the episodes to receive tons of practical tips on all things business, style, relationships and family. The other day I thought about what I would say if one of my children came to me and asked me to help them with their own entrepreneurship calling. This week's Soul Spark is all about 5 leadership lessons learned through a hurtful situation. I recently went through a hurtful situation in my business and learned some very valuable lessons from them. These lessons don't just apply to business but can apply to any relationship where there may be strife or hurt.5 Leadership Lessons Learned Through HurtTurn your eyes and heart onto the people in your life who are grateful, loving, and kind toward you than the very few who don't.It's easy to sit in the self-doubt and the victimhood longer than necessary.A leader is just an easy target to blameWhen you show up consistently and with ethics and someone says something about you being unethical, no one is going to believe them.Remember, there are way more people who love you and desire your leadership than those who don't.This will be an episode you will want to come back to for when you need it the most. Spirituality and faithfulness are pillars for your life. This week's Soul Spark is all about anchoring your life in faith. You can call it whatever you care to call it. I have zero judgment. For me, I refer to it as God. That is my spirituality. It's important that we hold space for our spiritual practices. With so much chaos going on in the world around us, I have no doubt many people are questioning their faith, God, and the universe. This is a time where we can make the choice to anchor in and ground ourselves even further in this relationship with God.Join the FREE Masterclass, Abundance of Wealth.
