“Fuck ‘em, do you,” says Kelli Tennant, Host of The Kelli Show podcast and CEO of Soul Fire Productions. Former TV show host, Kelli became burnt out by an industry that consistently encouraged women to blindly play their part. Now, Kelli has made a career of helping women step out of their “good girl” roles and into their sexuality and soul purpose.Kelli tells us that, growing up, she embodied society's idea of success. She was one of the top five volleyball players in the country, she was a straight A student, she was on ESPN at 21; in other words, Kelli just kept checking the boxes she needed to receive external validation. But one day, she looked in the mirror and realized she had no idea who she was, what she wanted, or what actually felt good to her. Throughout her years of people pleasing, Kelli had completely lost sight of her authentic self. It was at that moment that Kelli began to create her own rules, so she could live life on her own terms. Tune into this week's episode of The Self Love Breakfast Club for a conversation with Kelli about discovering your soul-level self. Learn why asking our bodies what they need is the key to unlocking fulfillment, why society's concept of success does not have to match your own, and how to create a life that nourishes the truest version of yourself.Quotes• “I was just living for everyone else. I never asked myself, ‘What do I want? What feels good to me?' I had just lived this life for everyone else, and so when I looked in the mirror, of course I didn't recognize myself because it wasn't me. It was the version that everyone else wanted from me.” (5:27-5:41)• “The more I asked for more in every aspect of my life, the more I felt comfortable doing it.” (6:53-6:58)• “I started to find myself for the first time. I started to feel like myself. I started to look in the mirror and recognize myself, and it was all because I got rid of these rules and lies that I had lived by for so long, and I started to create my own.” (7:44-7:56)• “If we just take a second to get quiet and ask our bodies, ‘What do you need? After you drop a bomb on your life you have the opportunity to get back to your most simple self and ask “what do I actually want”. This conversation is with a woman who gave herself that permission after going through a divorce. In this episode my guest and friend, Bryn Daylor, shares how she came to truly know who she is through the catalyst of her divorce. We discuss codependent relationship patterns and how Bryn outsourced her wants, needs, and autonomy to her partner without even realizing it. It took her years but eventually, the voice telling her that she needed to experience life on her own terms became too loud. Bryn takes us through her divorce and all its hardship and all its beauty. We talk about the gifts that this breakup brought her and the woman that she became because of it. Aron Bender is joined by Kelli Tennant, a podcaster and CEO of Soulfire Productions. I first talked with Kelli in 2019, shortly after she walked away from reporting on the Dodgers, Lakers and other LA sports teams and events. Kelli has experienced an awakening, on many levels. She's come out as bisexual, has explored and embraced plant-based medicines such as mushrooms and ayahuasca, and is now engaged to Conner Moore, host of the Politically Homeless Podcast. And together, Kelli and Conner host the OK, Babe Podcast. In this episode Kelli and I discuss her evolution, how she's dealt with the death of her mom in 2020 when they weren't on the best of terms, her relationship with her dad and brother, plus lots and lots of mental health, anxiety and self-care. What was once deeply associated with the hippie movement is now being used to help people recover from trauma and improve their mental health. Today we're talking psychedelics and psychedelic therapy. Ronan Levy, co-founder and chairman of Field Trip Health is actively contributing to the psychedelic renaissance by providing a space for clinical mental health treatment using ketamine assisted therapy (and hopefully MDMA and psilocybin assisted therapy in the future when approved by the FDA). Ronan and I talk about what it feels like to be on psychedelics, how the brain is affected by psychedelics, and what's actually happening biologically when someone is on psychedelics. We also discuss the incredible clinical studies and trials happening with MDMA and psilocybin and how they are contributing to the betterment of mental health and mental health treatment. Psychedelics have offered me profound experiences in my own life, and whether you're interested in trying them or not, this episode on the psychedelic renaissance is profoundly informative. Enjoy! Today's guest reminds us that “None of us are perfect and we are perfect in that,” in this raw and inspiring episode. I found Kelli Tennant by listening to her Top 50 podcast The Kelli Show and absolutely falling in love with it. I have loved everything about her and her energy and how she is showing up on this planet. The coolest thing is that I reached out to her on Instagram as someone she doesn't know and she immediately opened her arms and said yes. I am so thrilled and honored to have her here. Kelli Tennant is a great example of someone who shows up as herself, that might make us uncomfortable, but always makes us “check ourselves.” She is successful, confident, and triggering and I'm sure that there you might be turned off by your own opinion, fear, and judgement. But remember that triggers are a gift. Kelli is a former pro athlete who found herself reporting for ESPN. Now she is a leader, coach, podcaster, and CEO of Soulfire Productions, all of which have nothing to do with her former athletic career. Why did she leave it all behind? In today's episode, Kelli lays it all out on the table. Why she made drastic changes in her life to save herself and how she lives her life as her true self today. I also have an exciting announcement! I am partnering with Supercast which will give you more access to me and even more content that you won't find here on the podcast. It's so much of a deeper dive into important topics crucial to the growth and journeys we are all on together. It is also an opportunity to learn more about how I was able to go from being broke to owning a multi-million dollar business. You deserve to do this work. As hard as it is, this work will get you one step closer to excavating the real you and finding your joy and abundance. [8:10] - Kelli shares that with her TV background, women were always put up against each other instead of helping each other and working together. [10:21] - Kelli describes her background in volleyball, a false diagnosis, her work with ESPN, and the why behind starting her journey. [12:18] - Kelli's appearance and skills in volleyball led to a message about her always dismissing the inside and always looking at the outside. [13:50] - She could have cashed in on her skills and appearance and admits that she did for a long time but her worth and value were impacted. [15:41] - Kelli's competitiveness and need to be the best made things challenging for her. [16:39] - She realized that she was dressing and appearing a certain way to make everyone else happy. [17:50] - Kelli's behavior led her to start having hard conversations with herself. [19:38] - When looking at her career, Kelli realized that she was actually really good at her job and made people comfortable. [21:11] - The identity given to Kelli and what she was taught to learn about herself was shallow. [22:02] - Kelli wrote a book when she was 25 for athletes transitioning from being professional athletes to “normal people.” She connects this to her own experience. [23:07] - What does Kelli do with the women she works with now? [24:48] - Jill shares an observation of her daughter's Instagram. [26:17] - To all the women in my life to whom I complimented your appearance first, I'm sorry. [29:01] - Kelli thinks she hit behind her personality as a helper and when she stopped trying to fix and rescue everyone, she was able to truly see herself. [30:55] - After breaking from her “good girl” box, Kelli has had many people judge her outwardly but then come back and apologize. She has made people uncomfortable but also forces them to “check themselves” by showing up the way she does. [32:02] - Kelli describes experiences from middle and high school of people pinning girls against each other. [33:32] - “I became the woman I judged harshly my whole life.” - Kelli Tennant [36:03] - Women are programmed to feel threatened by confident women. [37:21] - Even with Kelli's appearance, she compared herself to other women, developed an eating order, and nothing was ever good enough. [38:42] - Kelli shares an experience of calling someone out for comparing herself to other women in her mastermind. [40:00] - What are we teaching other people by judging and comparing ourselves to others? [41:57] - As we look at others that are seemingly perfect, we put them on a pedestal because we don't acknowledge our own outer and inner beauty. [43:32] - In acknowledging the imperfections of someone else, we are mirroring our own imperfections. [45:11] - We think that others are seeing our flaws because that's what we see. [46:07] - What if I chose a different lens? [47:53] - Kelli learned a lesson about her lens of abandonment that she was even looking through in situations with her fiance. [50:39] - Kelli explains her upbringing and the spiritual experience she had in her early 20's. Listening to podcasts helped her discover her spiritual side. [52:57] - The catalyst for Kelli to seek different approaches her physical, spiritual, and mental health was having an abortion that sent her the message: “wake up.” [54:04] - Plant medicine is something a lot of people are afraid of. Kelli describes the origin and history of types of plant medicine. [55:59] - Kelli describes what happens with some of the plant medicine that she has used through the recommendation of her doctors. [57:44] - There's more to it than just having the ceremonies Kelli is describing. You have to take control. [58:44] - You can get addicted to this type of thing because being a human is hard. It can be abused to escape but its intent is to integrate into your life. [60:52] - Kelli admits that she still finds herself slipping into old behaviors, but she recognizes it now. She's able to call herself out. [62:17] - Pausing and asking herself “Why am I doing this?” keeps her in alignment. [64:43] - Kelli shares how to get in contact with her. Neuro*Queering: Beyond the intersection of Neurodiversity and Queerness
So, I did the scary and brave thing, Y'all. I asked Kelli Tennant to be on my podcast and she said YES! Yes, this is the same Kelli Tennant who was a college athlete and famous sports reporter who covered the Lakers and Dodgers. Yes, THE Kelli Tennant of “The Kelli Show” and the “Yes, Babe” podcast. Yes. The Kelli of the IG Pleasure Channel with 31.5K followers. Yes. The one with all the sexy, half-naked photos that make you drool. Yes. Kelli Tennant who is an Intuitive Facilitator, Reiki and Hypnosis Practitioner, Women's Circle Facilitator, and plant medicine advocate! Good. I am glad we got that all out of the way because all I care about is the WOMAN and the SOUL that is Kelli Tennant. I honor the woman who broke free from a lineage of toxicity and found her voice and power. I adore the woman who challenges social norms and encourages other women to create their own narrative from their evolving truth. I celebrate the woman who moved from the grief of losing her mom, dad, and puppy and slowly made her way back to self-worshipping. I want to highlight the woman who is courageous and vulnerable in sharing her stories of facing her deepest fears and accessing her deepest pleasures. And, yes, I HAD to ask Kelli about THREESOMES and how they actually work. You're welcome. Actually, I had a lot of questions. Here's some that were answered in this episode: Can you be a “good wife” if you want to explore sex with other people? How do you find a third, a “unicorn”, anyhow? Bumble, you say? Can your friend be your third and would that “ruin” your friendship? Can you be monogamous AND have a threesome? Is that monogamish? Does it matter if I don't know how to identify? Who do labels help anyhow? Do you have the capacity to hold space for our fears of abandonment, grief, and sexual pleasure in the same breath? Hint: yes. Is it possible to let go of control and simply enjoy life? How can you surrender to asking for and receiving pleasure? How do I practice self-worship? What about jealousy? What about our fear of abandonment? How do you set boundaries? How do you stick to the boundaries you set? What if you want to change your mind? What do you do if you are stuck in a pattern of chronic pain and illness and don't feel sexy? What if you keep losing people and pets and the grief makes it hard to access pleasure? Is it normal that I always think something must be wrong because something often goes wrong, so when I can't find anything wrong, I freak out as if there is something wrong and then I freak out because I always look for something to go wrong instead of just enjoying a single fucking moment? LOL.This is exactly how Kelli and I conversed and laughed together. It was a blast. Just lock the door, get naked, throw the rubber duckies aside, hop in the bathtub, and listen. Kelli herself said “Let Pleasure be the Measure” is “an Important podcast that is fucking changing people's lives”. Aw, shucks...and thank you, it's true. Hey there sister! In this episode, I talk with Kelli Tennant about her journey to self expression, sexual liberation, spirituality and the power of accessing our emotions. Many of us have struggled with emotional expression, afraid to really feel our feelings, causing us to stay inside a narrow range of human experience, where we never get “too sad” or “too angry,” but we also never feel as much pleasure and joy as we're capable of. Kelli opens up and shares about some of her most painful experiences and how they led to deep spiritual transformation + how these experiences opened her up to some of the greatest pleasure she's ever known. Tune into this convo if you're ready to learn about how sexuality and spirituality intersect, what alternative relationship constructs can look like, and why it's so important to take radical responsibility if you want to experience deep pleasure (in and out of the bedroom). This week on the show - Kelli Tennant!!! I've been excited to have Kelli on the show for some time for two reasons: 1. Her story is very close to mine in terms of the length of time she was ill and the paths she went down and I know many of you will feel the same2. She has placed a massive emphasis on the power of the mind in her recovery. I've mentioned psychedelics and ayahuasca a number of times and how they are more and more interesting to me in terms of healing and these are areas which Kelli knows a lot about and so I'm excited for you to listen to those particular areas. Please connect with her on Instagram @kellimtennant

Today's episode is a recording of Julianne's guest appearance on the Ceremony Wellness podcast with Kelli Tennant, speaking about finding the power of your own Goddess. Coming from a place where her body no longer felt safe and she was fully disconnected from it, Julianne shares how she rediscovered and reconnected with her inner Goddess, her sexuality, and her pussy power. She recounts how everything else in her life from mindset to health to business improved and shifted after her somatic experience and opening herself up to heal from the inside. Powerful highlights include: How past traumas actually allowed her to crack open and dive deep and find ways to reclaim her pussy power. How showing herself grace and being alone allowed her to figure things out. The connection between sexuality & mindset, tapping into the power within us through self pleasure and knowledge of our own bodies and responses and feelings. Letting go of shame and judgement to be able to actually be in your body. Her ability now to talk more freely and use her voice, saying what needs to be said. How sexology and sexuality relate to her business and the rest of her life. “When there is all the noise, and all the stuff, and all of the programming that's like really holding you back from your authenticity and being in your loving essence, I feel like there's so much blame and defection. ” Connect to @kellimtennant on Instagram, visit her website and check out her podcast Ceremony Wellness. ----------------------------------------- FREE GUIDE: 'GUT ED: 3 Holistic Gut Healing Hacks For Amazing Digestion, Clear Skin & A Happy Mind' GODDESS INITIATIVE enrollment opens TODAY, August 1!
