This Is Us S5 E1 and E2 – FortyKat and Chele chat about the two-part season opener. Season Five starts off with the fortieth birthday of the Big Three. Randall and Kevin haven’t reconciled after their blow-up at the end of the fourth season. Kate and Kevin celebrate their birthdays at the cabin with the family minus Randall, Beth, and their kids. The Pearson deal with various issues and crises, including Rebecca having a scare that leaves her lost. We learn more about Randall’s biological parents and find out an interesting surprise. In addition to the usual up and downs, the show does a great job of including important events of 2020, including the murder of George Floyd and the COVID crises.

Season 4 Episode 6 – The ClubSeason 4 Episode 7 - The Dinner and the DateWe’re chatting about the sixth and seventh episodes of This Is Us.Episode 6 - In the past (the 70s) Jack goes golfing with Rebecca’s father and hates it. In the 90s Jack teaches Randall how to play golf and learns a few lessons of his own. In the present Randall plays the game with other city councilmen, Kate and Toby’s physical relationship is lacking, and Kevin and Cassidy’s relationship takes an expected unexpected turn.Episode 7 – Deja and Malik cut school, to see Malik’s Philadelphia. Randall and Beth invite Malik and his parents to dinner. In the 70s, the Pearson’s have dinner with Mr. Lawrence (Randall’s teacher) and his wife.
Season 4 Episode 3 - UnhingedSeason 4 Episode 4 - Flip a CoinSeason 4 Episode 5 - Storybook LoveKat and Chele are back after some technical difficulties. They give a quick recap on episodes 3 and 4 of the fourth season of This Is Us, and give their opinions on what they thought of the 5th episode. Season 4 Episode 2: Still ThereIn the past, Jack and Rebecca want to have to end of summer quality time with the kids. Things don’t work out as they hoped.In the present, the struggle is real. Kevin is struggling to find his purpose outside of work. Kate is in denial about the struggle with baby’s Jack’s blindness. Randall is struggling with raising angsty teenagers in a new city.
Season 4 Episode 1: StrangersIn the season four opener, we’re introduced to some new characters.In the past, Jack and Rebecca return from California. Rebecca invites Jack to dinner with her parents. While trying to by an outfit for dinner, Jack meets his future best friend, Miguel. At dinner, Rebecca’s parents suck, as expected, and after dinner, Rebecca’s father tells Jack he will fight to keep them apart. As we all know, Jack wins this battle. In the present, Cassidy, who is a Marine stationed in the Middle East in the beginning of the episode. Later in her story we see her go home and end up having a difficult time adapting to civilian life. While she’s at a group therapy meeting, a brick in thrown in the window and Nicky steps into view. Now Kevin is off to Pennsylvania to save his uncle and possibly meet a new addition to his story.Malik, a young father in Philadelphia, working hard to give his baby a good life. Although he has the support of his parents, he contemplates working for a shady character to ensure he can give his daughter the best life has to offer. Of course, his father is not having it, and reassures Malik that he and his wife will be there for him. At a cookout Malik meets Deja and sparks fly. Kate and Toby learn their child is blind. In the future, their son Jack, finds love, happiness, and lives Kate and Rebecca’s dream of becoming a singer.
Kat and Chele are back and talking about another magical girl favorite, Princess Tutu. Princess Tutu Is about a duck who turns into the magical Princess Tutu, whose job is to collect the scattered heart shards of the prince from a magical story come to life. Take a listen as our hosts discuss what got them into the series, their favorite parts, and what they thought of the swan lake themed ending.
Season 3 Episode 16: Seven Strike as One In the series finale, Sunny and his companions have their final battle with Pilgrim. Cressida’s prediction for Minerva almost comes true. Minerva has a hidden power we didn’t know about. Cressida escapes from Pilgrim’s clutches and Nathaniel’s vengeance. Pilgrim and MK final meet their ends. Sunny’s gift is restore a bit too late. But, was it? We’re left on a cliff hanger – the Master has told Sunny needs to train before returning to the Badlands to deal with another powerful enemy.
Season 3 Episode 15: Requiem for the Fallen We’re chatting about the latest episode of Into the Badlands. Kannin tells Pilgrim the dark powers and Azra were about genocide and Pilgrim is okay with it. Minerva has confirmed she’s pregnant. She’s having second thoughts about this war with Pilgrim or staying in the Badlands. Nathaniel plans to leave the Badlands after killing Cressida. MK has turned to opium to help him cope with his burns. Sunny and Bajie seek help from the Black Lotus to deal with Pilgrim.
Season 3 Episode 14: Curse of the Red Rain Cressida is taken prisoner by Minerva. When things don’t go her way, she conjures up some blood rain and eventually kills Lydia. Minerva learns she may be pregnant and becomes distant with Gaius. Pilgrim and MK decide to go to war with Minerva and learn the importance of planning before running headlong into battle. After a long walk in the middle of nowhere and several warning from Bajie, Sunny learns Kannin is not 100% trustworthy.
Season 3 Episode 18: Her The season the finale of This Is Us In the past, Rebecca is hospitalized due to a car accident. Jack and the kids struggle the one night without her. In the present, Kate continues to mentally compete with her mother, even though Rebecca is trying to do what’s best for baby Jack. Kevin is hopeful that Zoe will change her mind about having children; in the end they break up. Randall and Beth struggle in the aftermath of their big fight, however they find a way to work things out. In the future, we see Kevin has a son, Nicky is part of the family, and Rebecca is ill – possibly suffering from Alzheimer’s.
Season 3 Episode 12: Cobra Fang, Panther Claw Season 3 Episode 13: Black Lotus, White Rose Over the last two episodes, Sunny learns his sister is alive and working with the Black Lotus. Magnus thinks he’s killed Ankara and Bajie. However, Ankara awakens long enough to revive Bajie before dying for real. Minerva saves Gaius and Tilda from Baron Chau, before killing her – keeping her head as proof for loyal Chau clippers. The Master allows Pilgrim to overwhelm her, waiting for the right moment to deal with him, only to be killed by MK. It’s revealed that Sunny is the reason the Black Lotus were able to destroy Azra.
Season 3 Episode 11: The Boar and the Butterfly In this week's recap of into the Badlands, Rachele and Kat discuss some of the most memorable moments of the episode. Team Nix/Sunny feels like the new dream team, and The Master has so much power she's been hiding. Also, Bajie, and Minerva have been giving us fun dynamics, and we can't forget that our favorite characters haven't forgotten about the justice Veil deserves, she will be missed.
Season 3 Episode 17 – R & B We’re chatting about the 17th episode of This Is Us. Randall and Beth have their big argument. In this episode we see how it all began and the ups and downs throughout their 20+ year relationship. The flaws and imperfections of the couple are laid out. In the end, we’re left wondering if they’ll be able to work things out.
Season 3 Episode 9: Chamber of the Scorpion Season 3 Episode 10: Raven's Feather, Phoenix Blood We're chatting about episodes 9 and 10 of Into the Badlands. In the return of Into the Badlands, we see the aftermath of the war and Pilgrim receiving the gift. Minerva is with the Master and the Abbots. Baron Chau is probably alive and hiding. Lydia is injured but healing after taking one for the team. Pilgrim is mad with power. Sunny must figure out how to deal with the chaos he thinks he’s brought onto the badlands.
