Well it only took us one hundred and ninety seven episodes, but we have finally done it! Our internet radio show has talked about actual radio. Kinda. It's called Wave, Listen to Me!, based off the manga by Hiroaki Samura. The anime was animated over at Sunrise, directed by Tatsuma Minamikawa. We also get into the anime Astro Note, the sudden reappearance of Ninja Gaiden games, and how One Piece is a good time.OSMnotesNow that you have listened to our song podcast, you may be asking yourself “Gosh, how can I check out this show and/or manga?” Do not worry! Today's guest on the Cryptid Creator Corner has worked in comics as both an editor and a writer since 2008. He worked for Marvel Entertainment, Image Comics, Kodansha, Viz, Vault Comics, and Wizards of the Coast. In 2018, he helped launch TKO Studios as Editor-in-Chief. It's Sebastian Girner and he's now embarked on a new endeavor with Goats Flying Press! They've already launch The Dead and the Damned #1 and #2 and The Fables of Erlking Wood. Sebastian and Jimmy discuss those 2 projects, including the stunning artwork of Kelly Williams and the incredible artistry of Juni Ba. Sebastian talks about his hopes for Goats Flying Press and previews what is coming up in 2025, including Lake Yellowwood Slaughter, described as "The “official comic adaptation” of the most infamous Italian Giallo you've never seen!" Jimmy's brother Bobby is very excited about that one after seeing the cover at Baltimore Comic-Con. Yes, it's a wrestling reference given that the only two on here for this show have names that start with A. And yes, this show is late, once again due to a more-than-hectic week. Apologies for the not-great scheduling, but we're working in the background to get things more stable. Also, there's a thing happening on November 5, so maybe do it either on that date or before - you all know what the thing is, it doesn't need to be said. Anyway, we've got an abbreviated recap of the summer season, thoughts on Look Back and MHA: You're Next, a major shift for GKIDS, and the biggest change to the One Piece anime yet - that's all in the first hour, and there's plenty from NYCC to dive into, both good and not-as-good. Convention season is wrapping up and we've got some bangs to go out on, for sure. We'll be back with the fall dub cast rundown next time, after... you know, the thing happens. More info. FOC for Issue 1 is July 31 - Release Date: August 23The premise of The Schlub is so perfect, so, “how did nobody think of this before,” what is the elevator pitch in your own words?Ryan, I know this was an idea you pitched a few years ago, how did the project change once Kenny and Tyrell came on board? The ashcan preview issue has been out for a little over a week. How has the response been so far?Is this a writing situation similar to Mike Mignola who works with tons of writers to bring Hellboy to life, Kenny & Tyrell are you running everything by Ryan who must approve every small detail? (joking)Now's your chance to promote KLC Press and its Substack, what can Schlub fans get if they join? We've seen some cool process drawings on there! Was the design of Roger Dalton inspired by any person you may know, or a character? What's the design process like here for various characters? For Wyrm, did anyone say “more tubes!” or for Roger, did anyone say “schlubbier!”The premise has Roger switch with Cirrus, and while it'll be great to see what Roger does with powers, will the story explore what Cirrus is going through in a very unhealthy human body? This book is funny, but it's also full of action. In terms of both scripting and illustration, how do you balance laughs with tension?Tyrell, your style screams “there are easter eggs!” Is there a favorite thing you stuck into a scene or background in the series, and what is it so we can go looking? Anything else you fellas would like to plug today?
