Welcome back to the Show Up & Show Up Podcast! Simply put in this episode we talk about how happiness is within you! So many times in marriage/relationships we look to our partner to "make us happy" and that thinking sets you up to be let down and disappointed. You give away your own power when you look outside yourself for happiness. Other people won't and can't "make you happy" 100 percent of the time. That is way too much pressure to put on your spouse/significant other because at some point they are going to miss the mark and let you down, even if they are trying hard not to. Truth be told "Happiness" comes and goes, but true JOY is a Fruit of the Spirit and is founded in our love for our Savior Jesus Christ and His love for us! You can have JOY even in the darkest of times because His perfect love never fails. I (Michaelle) learned this very valuable lesson as I was going through some of the darkest times while dealing with the infidelity in our marriage back in the day. And once I learned that true joy and happiness could dwell within me no matter what I was going through, it changed my perspective and expectations on "happiness" tremendously! In today's episode we are talking about stepping out on faith. We read an excerpt from my journal (Jan 2021), where I'm at my wits end dealing with Jevonne's lies and shenanigans regarding his infidelity. I was struggling with being "still" and called upon my Father in Heaven to SHOW me what I needed to SEE in that moment. We also read excerpts from the chapter, "Get Out of the Boat" from my wife's book, "The Light Through the Darkness." And I talk about my struggle with getting out of the boat to finally trust God fully, and have faith that He could (and would) love me, forgive me, and show me the grace I needed to lead me out of my own indiscretions and hell I had been living in and putting my wife through. Having faith and "getting out of the boat" looked different for the both of us... but it was KEY to the transformation that ultimately came to us individually and as a couple for the restoration and renewal of our marriage. In today's episode we are talking about the energy you feed. When going through infidelity (or any trial in marriage for that matter) we need to learn how to focus our energy on the things of God rather than allow our thoughts to keep us in a place of negativity and darkness. Today I will be reading a journal entry that is much different from those that I've read thus far... and the excerpt from my book, "The Light Through the Darkness" gives more detail on how what we focus on we get more of. When we sit in the "muck" and allow our thoughts to focus on the negativity, we will continue to stay stagnant rather than progress forward. And one thing is for sure, the adversary loves to bring us more pain and negativity. In today's episode, it's all about letting go and letting GOD fight your battles! It's easy to "say" that we're going to let go and let God handle it, but it's a whole different ballgame when you start putting the words to action. It's not as easy as it seems and takes consistent faith to really let go. I'll be reading an excerpt in the section "Letting Go" from my book, "The Light Through the Darkness," and a journal entry from January 2021 when I realized how to finally give everything over to God, take the focus off my husband, and solely start to focus on me. Because that is the only way that you will truly be able to start the healing process and completely let go. Today we're going to show you a little more about what healing "looks like" as we read another entry from my journal (2021) and an excerpt from my book, "The Light Through the Darkness" where I talk about how I learned to "Fight the Right Way." In this episode I share my real feelings around "being enough" and my fears as to if Jevonne would ever choose to "change" in order to save our marriage. We talk about how sometimes being SILENT and STILL is the ultimate clap back! And how I chose to move when others tried their hardest to come in between us, destroy all that we had built together and what we were working hard to repair. We hope what we share in this episode will help those of you going through something similar and show you that anything is possible with God! If you both put Him first, ask Him to fix what's broken, proceed to do the work, then give it over to Him... We tell couples that you must give each other time to get over betrayal. And that the person that cheated and caused the betrayal must be willing to be 100% Open, Honest & Transparent and answer the tough questions that they would much rather forget & never bring up again. They must bite their tongue from saying things like, “Get over it!” “Let it Go” and “Stop bringing it up.” Doing this, is SUPPOSED to help the betrayed spouse/partner move THROUGH the pain. But with some… rather than moving “through”, they get stuck “in” the pain. And getting “stuck in the pain” makes it almost impossible to move forward in the rebuilding process and REAL TALK, can actually lead to the end of your marriage/relationship. One of the most important things you need in any relationship is Trust. In a marriage it is one of the cornerstones of the foundation of Marriage. Hey Everyone! Michaelle Here! I'm coming to you by myself, without the mic & music….just me and my phone, because THIS Divine Download I received I had to share!! It's mind blowing and such a powerful message that came to me in reference to a saying I've heard for YEARS! I was in prayer a couple of weeks ago and I had a Divine Download around the saying, “There are 3 Sides to Every Story.” Mind you, I've said this many times in my life and never thought I was saying & interpreting it wrong! The Divine Download that I received from God made me realize that the REAL interpretation can only come from a Healed Space. Which gives a different “twist” to the Third Side which we've coined as “The Truth.” But WHO'S side IS the 3rd Side? And WHO'S TRUTH is it?
