Improving Communication to Release Relationship Tension 6. Final Thoughts: Embracing a Life of Freedom Why Letting Go is Essential for Emotional Freedom Letting go is not about forgetting or ignoring the past; it's about choosing peace over pain. I explain that when we hold onto resentment, fear, or self-doubt, we prevent ourselves from moving forward. Key Reflection: What emotional weight are you carrying that no longer serves you? Releasing Past Memories: Breaking Free from Emotional Baggage Many of us replay painful experiences in our minds, unconsciously reliving negative emotions. I discuss how we can rewrite our internal stories and consciously choose to focus on the present instead of the past. How Physical Movement Helps Release Emotional Tension Due to the body storing emotions, physical movement is an effective way to shake off negative energy. I highlight how walking, stretching, or dancing can release emotional blockages. Key Takeaway: Moving your body isn't just for fitness; it's also for emotional release. Letting Go of Worry: A Three-Step Process Worry can feel productive, but it often keeps us stuck. Inspired by Dale Carnegie's wisdom, I share a simple three-step process to break free from worry: Identify your most significant concern – Clarify what's on your mind. Ask: Can I control this? – If yes, take action. If not, release it. Replace worry with action or surrender – Do what you can, then let go of the rest. Reflection Prompt: What's one worry you can choose to release today? Improving Communication to Release Relationship Tension Unresolved misunderstandings and unspoken words can create emotional blockages. I discuss how clear, honest, and compassionate communication can help release relationship tension. Tip: Seek first to understand, then to be understood. Final Thoughts: Embracing a Life of Freedom Letting go is an act of self-love and courage. By releasing emotional weight, you make room for new possibilities, unshakeable peace, and a lighter way of living. Final Takeaway: What will you choose to let go of today? Give yourself permission to release, trust, and move forward. Conclusion Episode 383 powerfully reminds us that true freedom comes from within. By letting go of what no longer serves us - past hurt, worry, or negative patterns - we open ourselves up to a more peaceful, joyful, and fulfilling life. I encourage listeners to take a small step today to set themselves free through mindful reflection, movement, or a meaningful conversation. Remember, the journey to emotional freedom begins with a single step. What will your step be? ✨ Thank you for listening! Pascale --------------------------- FULL TRANSCRIPT --------------------------- Episode 383: Set Yourself Free - Embracing The Magic Of Letting Go For Inner Peace Have you ever felt the need to let go of a particular thought or feeling, unaware of how to do it? Do you unconsciously and repeatedly recall the same hurtful memory and can't let it go? Holding onto emotional baggage weighs us down and prevents us from living fully. But what if I told you we find true freedom in letting go? Imagine walking lighter, breathing smoothly, and feeling at peace simply by letting go. Thank you for tuning in to episode 383 of The Everyday Life Balance Show, a podcast dedicated to helping you achieve emotional freedom and balance in your everyday life. In today's episode, we'll explore releasing what no longer serves you, from painful memories to daily stress. You'll learn practical steps to free yourself emotionally, embrace peace, and create space for more joy in your life. Let's begin this journey together. Here is the truth: most of us feel stressed out because we struggle to let go. We often struggle with old habits that keep us prisoners in the same old story. However, how do you set yourself free? Let Go Of The Hurtful Memories Of The Past. Prisoners of the past hold on to what happened yesterday and fail to be present with NOW. Do you have an unpleasant memory you find difficult to let go of? It's time to shake it off, to feel the weight lift off your shoulders as you release these burdens because they no longer serve you. Holding on to unpleasant past memories stops you from living fully because it interferes with your emotional freedom or well-being and makes you a prisoner of the past. If this resonates with you, take a moment to reflect on the following: How does the unpleasant memory of the past affect your life now? Being a prisoner of the past can be a destructive experience that creates suffering. It's time to set yourself free! I recommend seeking professional help or a self-help solution like Dr Harry Barry's Emotional Healing process. I followed his process in the past; it's been life-changing. You can listen to my emotional healing experience in episode 380, entitled "Heal Your Heart: Finding Emotional Freedom Through Love.” Emotions are stored in the body; therefore, physical movement can be a powerful way to release tension and stress. Shake It Off Physically Too many people hold on to physical tension for too long. Here are some ways to help yourself and let go of the tension: Exercising will help you re-energise and shake off the stress of the day. For example, if you had a stressful day at work, physical exercise helps you change your state from exhaustion to mental and physical upliftment due to the release of feel-good hormones when you exercise. To let go of any mental and physical tension, make it a habit to boost your happy hormones with regular activity. By the way, it doesn't have to be strenuous because gentle stretches are highly effective. I stretch all the time. Smelling the roses is another way to let go. For example, a nice, meditative walk in nature surrounded by wildlife, trees, and flowers can help you let go of worries. As you stroll in nature or cycle, fill your lungs consciously with oxygen and slowly release carbon dioxide. Enjoy this peaceful moment as if you have no worries in the world. Allow yourself to let go. Dancing with your favourite music or singing in the bathroom is a great way to shake it all off as you allow your free spirit to express itself. When we hold onto pain, our body stores it as tension, affecting our nervous system. Exercise, whether it's walking, stretching, or dancing, helps shift stuck energy, allowing us to move forward emotionally and physically. Let Go Of Worry Learning to let go is a new habit you need to develop to invite more lightness into your life. This leads me to the subject of worry. Concerns or worries are disrupters of peace. Dale Carnegie affirms in his book "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living" that 70% of our worries are money problems. What about you? Worrying is one of the hardest things to let go of because it feels productive. But the truth is, worry doesn't solve problems; it only drains our energy and keeps us stuck in fear. Instead of letting worry control your thoughts, try this three-step method to regain peace of mind: 1. Identify your most significant worry, your 70%. Take a moment to clearly define what is causing stress. Write it down if needed. Often, when we name our worries, they feel less overwhelming. Worry can be caused by health issues, finances, children, and relationships at home and work. 2. Ask yourself: Can I control this? If the answer is yes, shift your focus to taking action. What steps can you take to improve the situation? If the answer is no, practise acceptance and consciously release it. Remind yourself that worrying won't change the outcome. 3. Replace worry with action or surrender: If the situation is within your control, take small, constructive steps to address it. If it's outside your control, use deep breathing, meditation or journaling to release the fear and shift into trust. By practising these steps, you train your mind to let go of unnecessary worry and focus on what truly matters. And lastly, let's talk about relationship worry. Improve your relationships As an advocate of the power of love, let go of wanting to be right all the time. It's ok to make mistakes. If you have a troubling relationship and the E.G.O (Edging God Out) gets in the way, lovingly solving the problem would mean seeking first to understand and then to be understood. There might be a misunderstanding you might not be aware of. Seeking first to understand opens our hearts and helps us see the situation more lovingly and with a new perspective. Miscommunication is a common ailment in relationships and leads to conflicts. If this relates to you, first seek to understand the person you are in conflict with compassionately. By the way, you might be thinking, why should I? However, give it a try. What happens in your mind and body when you do? Do you feel lighter or less angry or resentful? The process of seeking first to understand, then to be understood, taken from Stephen Covey's book "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People," which sold millions of copies, is a powerful way to view situations openly and let go of negative emotions. Today's episode is an invitation to develop a new habit: letting go. As you release, you let go of the unpleasantness, open up your heart again, and free yourself mentally and physically. Here is a recap of the three letting-go habits you can develop to invite more peace into your life: 1. Let go of the hurtful memories of the past to live fully in the present moment. 2. Establish an exercise routine to shake it all off physically and release feel-good hormones. 3. Let go of worry by following the three-step method to regain peace of mind. 4. Seek first to understand, then to be understood, to improve your relationships. Letting go is not about giving up; it's about making space for something better. When you release a painful memory, a worry, or a limiting belief, you take back your power and move one step closer to emotional freedom. So, as you go through your week, ask yourself: What am I ready to release? It could be a past hurt, an unrealistic expectation, or the need to control an outcome. Whatever it is, permit yourself to let go and trust that something better is coming. Thank you for spending this time with me. If this episode resonated with you, I'd love to hear what you're choosing to let go of, feel free to reach out or share your thoughts at support@pascalegibon.com. Until next time, I'm sending you lots of love and the courage to embrace freedom as you let go of anything that holds you prisoner and stops you from living fully, now.

Forgiveness isn't about excusing others—it's about healing yourself. In this transformative episode, forgiveness expert Dara Mckinley introduces a revolutionary approach to forgiveness as a healing modality, blending somatic awareness, emotional processing, and the power of unconditional love. Through her personal story of betrayal and recovery, Dara reveals why traditional forgiveness methods often fail and how we can use the “divine mind” within us to access the wisdom and love necessary for deep healing. Learn how to identify the emotions that keep us stuck, liberate yourself from looping narratives, and transform pain into peace. With practical tools like somatic practices, creative externalisation, and self-compassion, this episode is a guide to achieving emotional freedom. Whether you're healing from a single wound, enduring ongoing challenges, or grappling with generational pain, this conversation will inspire you to embrace forgiveness as the ultimate act of self-love. About Dara Mckinley In 2012, Dara Mckinley's life took a profound turn when two decades of experience in psychology and spirituality failed to help her navigate a deeply challenging situation. Desperate for relief, she turned to forgiveness but found that while there was plenty of discussion on why to forgive, there was little guidance on how. Determined to heal, she developed her own step-by-step process and experienced a breakthrough, finding peace for the first time in three years. This transformative experience sparked a lifelong devotion to forgiveness as a powerful healing modality. Recognising that mainstream forgiveness definitions often obscure the true path to healing, Dara created How to Forgive, a practical and spiritual framework that guides people in transforming pain into peace. Today, Dara empowers others to move beyond conventional forgiveness narratives, offering a clear, actionable process to heal wounds, restore balance, and reclaim their emotional freedom. It's hard to reconcile that another year has flown by and we are in December already. This final edition of UP! for 2024 has a blend of house and club tracks to keep you dancing into the New Year. The set kicks off with Alok's new track "Body Talk" then moves into 7th Heaven's new remix of their classic track "This Is Your Life". Dirty Disco features four remixes here, the first being "Set Yourself Free" by Celeda. A smooth house mix that glides along. Mark also does remix duties on tracks for Lady Gaga, BB Hayes and Cher. I'm really looking forward to the release of the fourth installment of his Pop Classics Reworked early in 2025. Division 4 delivers a punchy mix of Tate McRae's "It's Ok I'm Ok" as does Robbie Rivera on "Your Kinda Love". Drew G (working here as Drew Gilbert) spins Katy Perry's track "Crush" into dance floor heaven and Robbie Carrigan delivers a power house new mix of "Live You All Over" by Deborah Cooper. The Edson Pride remix of Kylie's "Lights Camera Action" is an anthem and 7th Heaven once again bring their unique skills to a cover of Cher's "You Haven't Seen The Last Of Me". Cher herself teams up with Kelly Clarkson to close out the set with "DJ Play Me A Christmas Song". That's as festive as I get this time of the year :) I wish all my listeners and the crew at podomatic a safe and happy holiday season. See you in 2025. “The closer he got to the realization of his dream, the more difficult things became.”– Paulo Coelho, The AlchemistHave you ever noticed that the closer you get to your goals, the more intense the challenges seem to become? This stage is where our greatest fears rise to the surface and we are tested to our core.In this episode of Love & Learn, we explore The Approach to the Inmost Cave and The Ordeal—two key stages of the Hero's Journey reflected in Santiago's story in The Alchemist. These trials push him to his limits, but also pave the way for his ultimate transformation. In this episode, we'll uncover:How Santiago's journey through the desert represents the difficult Tests and Trials we all faceThe Inmost Cave, where our deepest fears reside, and how we must face them to growWhy surrendering to the unknown is key to navigating the OrdealHow transformation happens when we let go of the old and trust in the processActionable steps to apply Santiago's lessons to your life:Face Your Greatest Challenges: Like Santiago, we all face moments where we must confront our deepest fears. Instead of avoiding these challenges, consider them opportunities for growth. Ask yourself: What is my “Inmost Cave”? What fear or obstacle am I ready to face?Surrender to the Unknown: Santiago's greatest test, the Ordeal, required him to let go of control and trust in something greater. In your own life, reflect on where you might be holding on too tightly and how you can embrace the unknown. Let go of control, and trust the process.Embrace the Transformation: Transformation happens after we've faced our greatest fears. By surrendering to the process, we are reborn into a new version of ourselves. Remember, it's often in the moments of greatest difficulty that we grow the most.As Santiago shows us, the Ordeal is not about mastering the world around you, but about trusting in the flow of life and allowing yourself to be transformed by it.ALL CONCEPTS FROM THE ALCHEMISTOvercoming DOUBT: How to Listen to the Universe's SignsStepping into the UNKNOWN: Overcoming Fear and Embracing ChangeIt's DARKEST before the dawnCONNECT WITH PAULO COELHOWebsiteBooksInstagramCONNECT WITH JESSICA FLINTWebsiteRetreatInstagram

I want to talk about something that is tough, but super important - forgiveness, reconciliation, and repentance. For years, I struggled with what others expected me to do versus what God told me. It was a constant battle because these opinions came from people I deeply respected. But every time, something inside me stopped. It took years and some recent experiences to realize that this hesitation was God protecting me. People often confuse forgiveness and reconciliation, thinking they're the same thing. But they're not. And repentance isn't just about saying sorry to excuse bad behavior—it's about truly changing. Forgiveness starts with God — it's not just about saying, “I forgive you.” It's about letting go of resentment while still acknowledging the pain. Reconciliation, on the other hand, is like two people with drawbridges. Both have to be willing to lower their bridges to rebuild the connection. Trust isn't instantly restored; it has to be earned and maintained. Repentance means turning back to God. It's a genuine response to godly sorrow, which is a profound recognition of our sins and shortcomings. This sorrow leads to repentance, changing our minds, hearts, and direction. It's redemptive and life-giving, making us more receptive to God's grace and compassionate towards others. No matter the relationship—whether it's with a friend, family member, partner, or spouse—these three elements will always be part of the process if both people are willing to work on it. This message explores the freedom of forgiveness found in Psalms 32. David rejoices because of his forgiveness and invites others to return to God. Unforgiveness is something many of us carry around. God calls us to forgive as he forgave in love.

In this week's episode of the podcast, I am chatting with fellow doula Cara who is a true inspiration to so many in the birth world. Her knowledge and passion shines through in the support she offers. Cara also shares so beautifully her own experience of how she let go of old wounds and history that was holding her back. In this sovereign birth season, I feel strongly that as pregnant women, you need to investigate what you have within you as a person to ensure that you have nothing left to sabotage your birth. This episode will hopefully help you to identify, and then eliminate deeply hidden issues that can arise in birth, and impair your experience. What do you have to shift within you? We had the pleasure of interviewing Moon Taxi over Zoom video!Nashville-based indie/alt band Moon Taxi have released their highly-anticipated 6th studio album Set Yourself Free, available to stream now on all DSPs worldwide. Later this summer, the band will begin their Set Yourself Free tour - a 3 month US run with support from The Stews including stops in Atlanta, Nashville, Boston, Cleveland, and many others.Once again ready to push the boundaries of their genre, Nashville-based indie alt-rock band Moon Taxi is back with their sixth full-length album, Set Yourself Free. With tracks ranging from rock to synth to pop to bluegrass, the new lineup showcases what 15 years as a band gets you: a polished, classic sound without fear of exploration. The five-member group- vocalist/guitarist Trevor Terndrup, lead guitarist Spencer Thomson, bassist Tommy Putnam, keyboardist Wes Bailey, and drummer Tyler Ritter - stepped back into their roots to create an album primarily written and recorded by themselves and set for release on their own label, 12th South Records.“It was really rewarding for each of us. The last record had quite a few co-writes- this record did not. We challenged ourselves to write most of the material on our own and that's really something to hang your hat on these days when you typically hire an outside writer or producer,” said Bailey on the band's creative process. “We really tried to look inward and do a lot of that on our own.” Remote collaboration on Set Yourself Free started for the group during the pandemic, but 15 years of working together made that transition a smooth one.“During the pandemic, we got used to FaceTime songwriting. For better or worse, it's been a great way for everyone to collaborate remotely. The lyrics for the title track, "Set Yourself Free," were even written on a 5-way call. And the song shows that collaborative color throughout. "The idea of falling back on someone you trust is so important nowadays. But truly it's how we've tried to operate as a band for all these years,” said Terndrup. The album was finished through work in a few Nashville studios with the help of producer and collaborator, Brennan Aerts.Despite a more fragmented process, the band regards Set Yourself Free as more reminiscent of their early work, citing it as fresh and exciting. Ritter believes they have a fan favorite on their hands - something that will re-energize the old fan base as well as draw in new listeners. Without a set sound in mind, the group was free to mold the record into what feels like an authentic Moon Taxi album. With five previous albums under their belt, Moon Taxi had, and took, the opportunity to think outside the box and make some reaches, both musically and lyrically. “I think a lot of that freedom comes with having done it for a long time and on album number six, you're no longer trying to find your sound like you are in earlier albums. You can kind of do what you want and then objectively look at it towards the end,” said Putnam. “You just trust yourself and your ear.”Set Yourself Free showcases the skill of a fully developed and practiced group of musicians. Free from the barriers of genre and self-definition, Moon Taxi presents a fresh and bold take on their sound. We want to hear from you!
