Now, their study was featured in the recent Australian Journal of Education (AJE) Special Issue on Arts in Education. In that paper (Gattenhof & Saunders, 2026), they warn the arts and creative sectors here in Australia are facing unprecedented challenges. We're going to be taking a look at what's happening in schools then in relation to that, starting with the declining enrolment numbers in year 12 arts subjects in Australian states and territories, and the implications of that. We'll also be talking about the challenge of out-of-field teaching in arts education and some of those practical supports and solutions for schools. Host: Jo Earp

On this week's episode of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame Podcast, host Zach Burke takes a journey back in time to celebrate one of the most dominant, elegant, and classy sprinters to ever step onto a track—1960 TSHOF inductee Bobby Morrow! Joining the show is Ron Hadfield, who brings his rich perspective as the editor emeritus, senior writer, and university historian for Abilene Christian University.Ron frames the conversation by looking ahead to the upcoming 70th anniversary of the 1956 Summer Olympic Games in Melbourne, where Morrow captured worldwide fame by winning three gold medals. We explore Bobby's humble beginnings as the son of a cotton and carrot farmer in San Benito, Texas, where his father Floyd used to help the local high school coach prepare the dirt and cinder tracks. Ron shares how Bobby's blinding speed was first discovered on the high school football field, leading him to state titles and catching the attention of top track programs nationwide—ultimately choosing Abilene Christian over the University of Texas to stay close to his family, his faith, and legendary sprint coach Oliver Jackson. The conversation dives deep into the mind-boggling dominance of Bobby's collegiate career, where he compiled a staggering 80 wins against just 8 losses, including a flawless 37-0 streak in the 100 meters. We revisit the magic of 1956, the first summer games televised live into homes, where Morrow beat out the likes of Mickey Mantle, Don Larsen, and the Heisman Trophy winner to be named Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year. Ron shares a wonderful testament to Bobby's innate humility, highlighting a classic quote from when he was named one of the "Nine Greatest Living Americans" alongside Norman Rockwell and Cecil B. DeMille, bashfully stating he just couldn't believe all of this came from his mom giving him two fast legs. Finally, Ron pulls back the curtain on the heartbreak of the 1960 Rome Olympics. After graduating in 1958, Bobby had to train and travel entirely on his own, and a poorly timed injury during the Olympic trials left him off the roster. Yet, in a testament to his class, Morrow still trained with the team, regularly out-sprinted the qualifiers in practice, and handled the ultimate rejection at the airport with pure grace. We wrap up by reflecting on the massive, lasting footprint Morrow left on ACU—a legacy that helped the program secure Texas Monthly's title of the "Texas Sports Dynasty of the 20th Century."See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Continuing our Summer Reset series on the Jesus Over Everything show, this conversation between Lisa Whittle and renowned researcher and author Dr. George Barna focuses on a foundational question: What does it mean to have a biblical worldview, and what's at stake if we fail to pass one on to the next generation?   The data Dr. George Barna brings to this episode is the kind that should wake every believer up. A biblical worldview isn't formed by accident: it's built in homes, modeled in churches, and lived out in the daily rhythms of faithful adults. The next generation is watching. The question is: what are they seeing?   Listen in to learn more: (00:24) Dr. Barna gets honest about nerves, aging, and why he still says yes to interviews (04:24) Why millions of Christ followers have walked away from Sunday mornings (08:04) How a 40-year researcher processes hope and despair in the data (13:54) Only 4% of American adults and just 1% of teens have a biblical worldview (14:36) Why a child's worldview is substantially formed by age 13 (16:42) Barna's simple definition of a biblical worldview (20:58) Is skipping church a sign of lost faith, or just doing faith differently? (31:22) Only 37% of pastors have a biblical worldview, and what that reveals about seminary (35:31) Barna's unfiltered take on social media and discipleship (36:09) Introducing the “seven cornerstones of a biblical worldview”   Mentioned in the Episode: Book - Revolution by Dr. George Barna: https://a.co/d/0iHdx2rZ Book - Raising Spiritual Champions by Dr. George Barna: https://a.co/d/05O2sSOV Latest Reports - Cultural Research Center at ACU: https://azcu.edu/culturalresearchcenter/   Connect with Dr. George Barna: Website: https://georgebarna.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/drgeorgebarna/ Connect with Lisa:Website: https://www.lisawhittle.comSubstack: https://letsbeclear.substack.comYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@lisawhittleofficialInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/lisawhittleFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/lisawhittleofficial

Episode 171 of Tablesetters is LIVE! We open with the first place Chicago White Sox, who suddenly sit atop the AL Central at 36-31 after starting the season 6-13. We break down whether this surge is actually sustainable, how Chicago has gone 29-17 since April 18, why their top-five offense has changed the entire outlook, and how Munetaka Murakami, Colson Montgomery, Miguel Vargas, Davis Martin, and top prospect Braden Montgomery have turned the White Sox into one of baseball's best stories. From there, we dive into Bryce Eldridge's unbelievable signature moment in San Francisco. Just two days after striking out with a chance to tie the game, the 21-year-old rookie launched an ultimate grand slam in the bottom of the ninth to complete an 11-10 Giants comeback over the Nationals. We discuss the Giants erasing a 9-1 deficit, Eldridge becoming the youngest player in MLB history to hit a walk-off grand slam, Matt Chapman's monster game, and one of the most improbable wins in franchise history. We also discuss Ronald Acuña Jr. landing back on the injured list with another Grade 1 left hamstring strain, what it means for the Braves, and the bigger question of whether he is still a superstar. Acuña's 2023 MVP résumé is undeniable, but with two IL stints this season, multiple major injuries since 2021, and current numbers below his usual standard, the conversation has shifted from talent to availability. Plus, Drew Rasmussen dominates the Red Sox with a career-high 13 strikeouts over seven shutout innings, Max Scherzer reaches 3,500 career strikeouts while his season-long struggles continue, the Athletics and Brewers turn Las Vegas Ballpark into a launching pad, Dalton Rushing's villain reputation grows after another controversial slide, and we make our official Men's College World Series picks with Georgia, North Carolina, Alabama, West Virginia, Texas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Troy all fighting for Omaha.

And as a reminder, “you cannot become a genuine disciple of Jesus without having a biblical worldview” (Dr. Barna).Drawing on years of research conducted with George Barna and the Cultural Research Center, Dr. Munsil explains how ACU measures worldview formation and what the data reveals about students, pastors, churches, and Gen Z. We discuss why biblical worldview is about more than knowledge, the surprising gap between Bible engagement and worldview adoption, and why intentional discipleship is essential for lasting cultural transformation. If you care about biblical worldview, Christian education, discipleship, and the future of the Church in America, this conversation offers both a sobering reality check and a reason for hope.Who is Disciple Nations Alliance (DNA)? Since 1997, DNA's mission has been to equip followers of Jesus around the globe with a biblical worldview, empowering them to build flourishing families, communities, and nations.

It's a must-read that every person, religious and non-religious, should buy and peruse every night before bed. It'll make you think harder, pray more ardently, and understand your civilization better." — Ben Shapiro, host of "The Ben Shapiro Show" "Dennis Prager's commentary on Exodus will rank among the greatest modern Torah commentaries. That is how important I think it is. And I am clearly not alone... It might well be on its way to becoming the most widely read Torah commentary of our time—and by non-Jews as well as by Jews." — Rabbi Joseph Telushkin, bestselling author of Jewish Literacy Why do so many people think the Bible, the most influential book in world history, is outdated? Why do our friends and neighbors – and sometimes we ourselves – dismiss the Bible as irrelevant, irrational, immoral, or all of these things? This explanation of the Book of Exodus, the second book of the Bible, will demonstrate that the Bible is not only powerfully relevant to today's issues, but completely consistent with rational thought. Do you think the Bible permitted the trans-Atlantic slave trade? You won't after reading this book. Do you struggle to love your parents? If you do, you need this book. Do you doubt the existence of God because belief in God is “irrational?” This book will give you reason after reason to rethink your doubts. The title of this commentary is, “The Rational Bible” because its approach is entirely reason-based. The reader is never asked to accept anything on faith alone. As Prager says, “If something I write does not make rational sense, I have not done my job.” The Rational Bible is the fruit of Dennis Prager's forty years of teaching the Bible to people of every faith, and no faith. On virtually every page, you will discover how the text relates to the contemporary world and to your life. His goal: to change your mind – and then change your life.   Highly Recommended by ACU. Purchase his book at- https://www.amazon.com/Rational-Bible-Exodus-Dennis-Prager/dp/1621577724   The Rational Bible: Genesis by Dennis Prager  USA Today bestseller Publishers Weekly bestseller Wall Street Journal bestseller Many people today think the Bible, the most influential book in world history, is not only outdated but irrelevant, irrational, and even immoral. This explanation of the Book of Genesis, the first book of the Bible, demonstrates clearly and powerfully that the opposite is true. The Bible remains profoundly relevant—both to the great issues of our day and to each individual life. It is the greatest moral guide and source of wisdom ever written. Do you doubt the existence of God because you think believing in God is irrational? This book will give you many reasons to rethink your doubts. Do you think faith and science are in conflict? You won't after reading this commentary on Genesis. Do you come from a dysfunctional family? It may comfort you to know that every family discussed in Genesis was highly dysfunctional! The title of this commentary is “The Rational Bible” because its approach is entirely reason-based. The reader is never asked to accept anything on faith alone. In Dennis Prager's words, “If something I write is not rational, I have not done my job.” The Rational Bible is the fruit of Dennis Prager's forty years of teaching the Bible—whose Hebrew grammar and vocabulary he has mastered—to people of every faith and no faith at all. On virtually every page, you will discover how the text relates to the contemporary world in general and to you personally. His goal: to change your mind—and, as a result, to change your life.   The Rational Bible: Deuteronomy: God, Blessings, and Curses by Dennis Prager Is the Bible, the most influential book in world history, still relevant? Why do people dismiss it as being irrelevant, irrational, immoral, or all of these things? This explanation of the Book of Deuteronomy, the fifth book of the Bible, will demonstrate how it remains profoundly relevant - both to the great issues of our day and to each individual life. Do you doubt the existence of God because you think believing in God is irrational? This book will cause you to reexamine your doubts. The title of this commentary is The Rational Bible because its approach is entirely reason-based. The listener is never asked to accept anything on faith alone. In Dennis Prager's words, “If something I write is not rational, I have not done my job.” The Rational Bible is the fruit of Prager's forty years of teaching to people of every faith and no faith at all. In virtually every section, you will discover how the text relates to the contemporary world in general and to you on a personal level.
