Episode: 3264 David Hockney, Digital Painting, and Art's Technophobia. Today, painting with pixels, in the hands of a master.
The 1800s represent a significant period which art historians estimate to be the beginning of transition from the Neoclassicism art movement which was founded on the Roman art, to the Romantic era that advocated for expressive art. Painters who lived during the period attempted to reach out to their audience by touching what went on during the period they lived (Van Gogh-Bonger and Gayford, 2018). This paper presents a biography of Vincent Willem van Gogh, a Dutch painter who because his emotional and psychological struggles, found solace in painting, and even became the forerunner of the revolutionary Expressionism art movement. Brushwork flips reality to the abstract in Vaulting. Modern artist Susan Rothenberg’s known for her expressive technique. Her paintings exemplify movement. This is the key element to Vaulting. A vaulter becomes motion rather than mere man. This American painter reveals the inner experience of movement. It’s also how she created this masterpiece. As a dancer, Susan Rothenberg knew what it felt like to move. There’s intensity inside a moving body. This is what comes through in her painting Vaulting. It’s not just a body moving. This portrays a body as movement. When she painted this, Rothenberg was living by the sea. Its constant shifting inspired her to capture the concept of movement itself. So, her painting took on a fresh quality. She used paint to show the liquidity of motion. Learn more about this and other masterpieces with a click through to LadyKflo's site. https://www.ladykflo.com/vaulting-by-susan-rothenberg/
