It's been 8 and a half years since Fred has been on the show. He's not being ignored. I see him every year on various trips to Toronto. This year, I missed my spring trip so I thought we'd just record our usual call. We talked about Fred shares his transition from mornings at Edge 102 to afternoons at Q107, discussing the challenges of radio, mental health, and other crazy industry transitions. He reflects on mentors like Darrin Harvey and Dean Blundell who shaped his career, and candidly talks about his experiences with workplace changes and personal growth.Fred has this love of comic books that I will never understand (and rather envy), his family and family life, and radio. We also explore critical industry topics like the impact of AI on creative fields, with Fred expressing strong concerns about intellectual property theft. I pushed back as I always do. (I also once suggested to Art Alexakis from Everclear that Napster was a good thing so you know how that conversation went, right?)A Transcript and video of the show is available on our network page. Please sign up for the SOUNDING OFF Newsletter. Dean Blundell and Zev Shalev delve into the intricate backstory that spans apartheid South Africa, the dawn of AI, and 'technocracy.' Air Force One landed in darkness. The inauguration was hastily moved indoors. Something very different was happening - this was an inauguration taking place in the eye of a storm. Hours earlier, President Biden delivered his final address from the Oval Office, speaking of the Statue of Liberty's ability to withstand fierce storms. "She sways a few inches," he warned, "but she never falls into the current below." As he spoke of an emerging oligarchy threatening democracy, few knew that a different kind of storm - codenamed "Salt Typhoon" - had already reshaped America's power structure. Behind the official explanations of weather and crowd size, a months-long Narativ investigation reveals a hidden realignment of global power. Our reporting traces a transformation that began in the uranium mines of apartheid South Africa and leads directly to America's AI future. At its center are four men who emerged from apartheid's collapse to reshape Silicon Valley: Peter Thiel, Roelof Botha, David Sacks, and Elon Musk. Their rise parallels China's growing influence in American technology and politics, culminating in this week's unprecedented scenes: tech billionaires lined up in the front row of Trump's indoor inauguration, TikTok's CEO prominently placed, and failed negotiations with Putin suggesting a new global alignment. The story begins with Pik Botha, South Africa's former foreign minister and grandfather of Silicon Valley kingmaker Roelof Botha. As minister of mineral and energy affairs, he oversaw the uranium program that connected Peter Thiel's father to South Africa's nuclear ambitions. Their vision of technocratic rule - where technical experts and engineers would govern society - didn't die with apartheid. It evolved. By the time PayPal emerged in the late 1990s, these four men had positioned themselves at the intersection of technology and power. Documents reveal PayPal's original mission wasn't American at all - it was designed as a payment processor for Chinese companies, the first step in a decades-long partnership that would reshape global power. Today, as Biden's warning about oligarchy echoes through empty halls, we see their technocratic vision coming full circle. From Trump's $500 billion AI initiative to China's new role as America's strategic partner, a transformation decades in the making has reached its culmination. What began as a day marked by Russian interference - from FBI warnings about Russian-originated bomb threats at polling stations to debunked deep-fake videos - ended with an electoral outcome that seemed to follow a Russian-crafted narrative. Our show began confidently at 9:30 PM ET, with Dean Blundell and Spencer “Spenny” Rice joining me to witness what we expected to be a historic victory for Kamala Harris. The mood was light, even celebratory. "Dancing in the streets by 11:30," we predicted. But as the night progressed, the numbers shifted dramatically. One by one, the critical swing states fell: Michigan (+90,820 for Trump), Wisconsin (a razor-thin +29,797), Pennsylvania (+153,204), and Georgia (+117,384). By the time foreign policy expert Rick Petrie joined our panel, what had started as a celebration had transformed into growing concern about the integrity of what we were witnessing. By morning, what seemed impossible at 9:30 PM had become reality - Donald Trump had secured victory in nearly every battleground state, with margins that defied both polling and campaign internal numbers. Dean Blundell joins Zev Shalev for the third installment of Narativ Canada. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has a list of members of Parliament who are either actively engaged with or at high risk of foreign interference, putting Parliament Hill in crisis. The bombshell disclosure came at Canada's Foreign Interference Inquiry, during which Trudeau expressed frustration at Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre's continued refusal to receive top-secret security briefings about the threat. I have the names of a number of parliamentarians, former parliamentarians, and/or candidates in the Conservative Party of Canada, who are engaged or at high risk of, or for whom there is clear intelligence around foreign interference," PM Justin Trudeau under oath. The Prime Minister emphasized that his government has directed CSIS to inform the Conservative Party leader about these security risks, but Poilievre's refusal to receive classified briefings means "nobody in his party, nobody in a position of power knows the names of these individuals and can take appropriate action." Indian Government's Deep Infiltration Exposed The revelations come amid mounting evidence of Indian government interference in Canadian politics. The RCMP has uncovered evidence linking Indian government agents to a campaign of violence, including homicides, coercion, and extortion on Canadian soil. In a dramatic development, Trudeau confirmed he confronted Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi about these allegations during what he described as a "very uncomfortable" conversation at the G20 summit. The Prime Minister disclosed that Indian diplomats and consular officials in Canada had allegedly leveraged their positions to engage in clandestine intelligence-gathering activities. Conservative Party Operative Under Investigation Adding to the growing scandal, recent reports indicate that Arpan Khanna, who served as Pierre Poilievre's Ontario co-chair during his successful leadership campaign, is under investigation by CSIS for potentially receiving support from the Indian government. Khanna's nomination in the Oxford riding has come under particular scrutiny. Two senior riding officials resigned in protest, claiming the party leadership "hijacked" the process to favor Khanna. About Dean Blundell Dean Blundell, a legendary figure in Canadian broadcasting who hosted the boundary-pushing morning show on Toronto's 102.1 The Edge (2001-2014) and later Fan 590, has transformed from self-described "shock jock" to one of Canada's most important investigative voices through his Dean Blundell Show podcast and Crier Media empire. Under the Crier Media banner, which operates dozens of podcasts and works with a collective of reporters, journalists, and lawyers while maintaining complete independence by refusing government funding, Blundell has emerged as a leading investigator of foreign interference in Canadian politics, breaking significant stories about threats to democracy that mainstream media outlets often hesitate to cover, including early reporting on Pierre Poilievre's refusal to obtain national security clearance and exposing connections between Canadian conservative movements and international actors.

In the latest episode of Narativ, host Zev Shalev and guest Dean Blundell deliver a chilling wake-up call to Canadians about the dire state of their democracy. The conversation paints a disturbing picture of a nation teetering on the edge of autocracy, with foreign interference and media corruption threatening to unravel the very fabric of Canadian society. Blundell doesn't mince words as he exposes the rot at the core of Canada's media landscape. He reveals how outlets like Rebel News operate as little more than paid advocacy groups, pushing propaganda that aligns with Russian interests and far-right ideologies. The recent Supreme Court ruling confirming Rebel News produces less than 1% of actual news content is just the tip of the iceberg. But the threat goes beyond biased media. The episode uncovers the alarming influence of foreign actors, particularly Russia, in Canadian politics. From co-opting influential individuals to running sophisticated disinformation campaigns, these efforts aim to polarize public opinion and undermine trust in democratic institutions. Even more shocking is the revelation that Canadian taxpayer money has been used to fund Russian propaganda films. The urgency of the situation becomes clear as Shalev and Blundell discuss the upcoming election. They warn that Canadians face a stark choice between character and corruption, with the very soul of the nation hanging in the balance. The potential for a Pierre Poilievre-led government, coupled with the possibility of a Trump presidency in the US, paints a grim picture for North American democracy. Time is running out for Canadians to wake up to these threats. This episode of Narativ serves as a crucial call to action, urging citizens to engage critically with the information they consume and to fight for the preservation of their democratic values. The future of Canada hangs in the balance, and every voice matters in this battle against creeping authoritarianism.
In a groundbreaking exposé, Narativ's special Canada edition, hosted by Zev Shalev with guest Dean Blundell, unveiled disturbing parallels between the rise of authoritarianism in the U.S. and emerging threats to Canadian democracy Poilievre: The Face of Maple MAGA Pierre Poilievre, leader of the Conservative Party, has emerged as the standard-bearer for what some are calling "Maple MAGA" - a Canadian iteration of the populist movement seen in the United States. With his party leading in the polls, Poilievre stands on the brink of potentially becoming Canada's next Prime Minister. This prospect raises alarming questions about the future of Canadian democracy. As Zev Shalev noted, "Poilievre's rise mirrors the playbook we've seen in other democracies that have slid towards authoritarianism. The parallels with figures like Viktor Orbán in Hungary are hard to ignore." The CBC: Autocrat Target While the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) is in a very precarious position if an authoritarian-leaning government takes power. "History shows us that public broadcasters often become prime targets for leaders seeking to control the narrative," Dean Blundell emphasized. "If Poilievre wins, the CBC could face a fate similar to public media in Hungary or Poland." Security Clearance Controversy Adding to concerns, Poilievre has refused to submit to a top-secret security clearance check - an unprecedented move for a potential prime minister. This stance becomes even more critical as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's Liberal Party has lost its crucial partnership with the New Democratic Party (NDP), putting the current government in a precarious position. Recent polls showing Poilievre's Conservatives with a significant lead amplify worries about a potential leadership change without proper security vetting. Russia's Billion Dollar Digital Racketeering Market Compounding these internal challenges, a recent U.S. Department of Justice indictment has unveiled a massive $10 million Russian disinformation operation targeting both Canada and the United States. This operation, involving Canadian actors, highlights significant vulnerabilities in Canada's defenses against foreign influence. The indictment implicates Tenet Media, a conservative outlet founded by Canadian influencer Lauren Chen, as a potential front for pro-Kremlin propaganda. This revelation underscores the sophisticated nature of foreign interference in Canadian politics. Democracy at a Crossroads The convergence of these events – Poilievre's rise as the face of Maple MAGA, his refusal of security clearance, political instability, and foreign disinformation campaigns – paints a troubling picture of Canadian democracy at a critical juncture. "What we're seeing in Canada eerily echoes the early stages of democratic erosion we witnessed south of the border," Shalev warned. "The potential threats to institutions like the CBC may not be overt yet, but the groundwork is being laid." The Narativ Canada special edition serves as a wake-up call, urging Canadians to remain vigilant about the potential for both domestic and foreign interference in their political processes. As this story unfolds, Narativ promises to stay at the forefront, providing in-depth analysis and uncovering the hidden connections that could reshape Canadian democracy. The future of Canada's democratic institutions may well depend on how its citizens respond to these emerging challenges, particularly as they approach a potentially transformative election.

This week, we're back with another old friend of the show. Charles Adler was last on in 2019, and at the time, he was about to be on-air with Corus Radio. Nowadays, he's joining the ever-growing list of radio vets who have decided to go digital.Charles is starting up his own podcast, The Charles Adler Show, in just a few weeks. We know this, not just because he told us, but because The Sound Off Media Company is going to be handling the production side for him. We won't be hosting the show, though. Instead, you can find him on Dean Blundell's network, Crier Media, once the show goes live.As usual with radio-stars-turned-podcasters, we talk with Charles about what made him decide to make the transition. It does get a bit political, since that's one of the main themes of his shows. You've been warned. We also discuss the direction of his new show, as well as how he's had to adapt to social media, and the love and hatred he's been exposed to through the lens of Twitter. As mentioned, keep an eye out for The Charles Adler Show on Crier Media. If you want to keep up with Charles in the meantime, you should also drop him a follow on Twitter or check out his personal website.A Transcription of this episode is available here. This show is made possible every week by contributors like:Blurve: A great way to help you prep your Show.NLogic: TV & radio advertising and audience data solutionsMegatrax - Licensed Music for your radio station or podcast production company.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
We explore the results of a happiness study, which was conducted over almost 100 years. Plus, we chat about the rise of independent media with the voice behind Crier Media, Dean Blundell. Also, with news about layoffs in the tech space appearing with increasing frequency, we discuss the best way for tech leaders to calculate their budgets for the bigger picture. In Socially Speaking, we talk about the future of work and a new start up in Berlin called NEW WORK.Links to this week's stories and discussion:[09:22] What We Have Learned About Happiness: cnbc.com[17:56] Apptastic[25:48] Dean Blundell: crier.co[40:13] How Leaders In The Tech World Can Save Money[47:08] The Future of WorkYou can also find both AmberMac and Michael B on Twitter.
This week we're joined by Dean Blundell to talk about his newest venture: Crier Media. It's the best way to find all the blog and podcast content you love from Dean's network, all in one place, but it's also a lot more than that. It's a cooperative of podcasters, writers, bloggers, and all kinds of folks from the radio industry who got sick of seeing big radio companies prioritize the wrong things. The Sound Off Media Company partnered with Dean a few years ago and manage the podcast side of their business and collaborate on marketing. Crier Media wants to shift the focus back to the talent, and give them a springboard to do whatever they want with their own content. We talk with Dean about why he started Crier, as well as how it ties into his storied and controversial history with radio and his podcast. He calls it being a responsible citizen- no guidelines for what can and can't be covered, no fear of taking risks because some corporate bigwig is afraid of losing profits, just digging as deep as you need to on stories that need to be told. This discussion inevitably leads us to talking about Caryma Sa'd, who works with Dean regularly and who we both agree is awesome. The best place to follow her is on Twitter, but you can also check out her website, carymarules.com. And hey, you can find her posts on Crier, too! And, of course, it wouldn't be a Sound Off Podcast episode with a former radio personality without copious discussion about the inevitable death of radio. But we're not just ragging on it needlessly- a lot of Dean's reasons for starting Crier are tightly tied into the problems radio is facing. From personalities taking the backseat to radio stations broadly sucking wind when it comes to transitioning to podcasts, we talk about all the things that made Dean sick enough to start his own place for the lost and forgotten souls of radio to feel at home again. It should go without saying that you should check out Crier Media, but that goes double if you're a broadcast industry vet looking to start doing your own thing. Head to their website, Crier.co, or shoot an email to info@crier.co and they'll see what they can do for you. You should also follow Dean in all the usual places: DeanBlundell.com, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. A thanks to the people who support the show each week and allow it arrive on your phones for free. How are YOU doing, THURSDAY!!! Well, Twitter's "Great Verification Parade has begun, and despite some severe shaming, almost everyone at DeanBlundell.com paid there $8 dollars"just for the videos and 1080p stuff" LOL. - What does verification mean now? - How to tell the difference between paid and unpaid official verification? - How much money did Elon make forcing people to sign up to not be shadowbanned? Speaking of ELON, his DOGEcoin is worthless after crypto CRATERED yesterday. Our Crypto Finance guy Scott Trades wrote a few desperate tweets yesterday, and it looks like he's had enough of the fake digital money scam. He joined us to discuss wtf happened in the Crypto markets and who it served (spoiler alert - not you) A British man was kicked out of a Job interview because his penis was too big. Dean explains because he understands the "my wiener is too bg" news stories. Fish, meet barrel. BIG changes are coming to DeanBlundell.com. We're finally able to talk about them a little. What to expect, and we finish off with a bit of Q and A about what to expect in the coming days.
Dr. Michael Geist is Canada's foremost expert on Internet Law and Policy, and is a fierce critic of Bill C-11, the Trudeau govt's internet censorship bill. ORIGINAL AIRDATE: November 4, 2021Summary by Peyton SmithHour 1, segment1: Americanuck Radio was proud to once again have Jeremy Mackenzie, aka "The Raging Dissident" join us today.Today, Jeremy came by to drop some big news about the PPC party of Canada...and it's rather alarming. At a PPC rally on election night in Canada, there were many attendees who fell sick. They may have been poisoned.Bio attack? One woman in attendance may have been drugged. At the rally venue, which 500 people attended, the ventilation system was disabled. Two individuals in attendance who were wearing masks(excellent cover) were acting strange, according to Jeremy. They were yelling very script-like right wing slogans. After the event, they followed Jeremy's group out.The intentions of these shady, masked, Israeli accented individuals is unknown. Still, they appeared quite dubious.A member of the PPC party, Mark Friesen, was at this event. He came down with severe bacterial pneumonia. Mark is now in a coma in a hospital in Ontario. He could have been a targeted man.The hospital that Mark is in has been doxxed, and his family is being harrassed.Such a multitude of strangeness. The conversation continues into segment 2.-----------------------Hour 1, segment 2: Jeremy continues to gain notoriety, lately with an appearance on the Dean Blundell show.It was a trainwreck, instigated by Mr. Blundell. Still, Jeremy came out the better man.Chris Skye also comes up in the discussion. Mike and Jeremy discuss how a steady hand goes a long way, and how Chris is currently not putting that into practice. The chat also covers the fact that Canadian's and American's are essentially the same people, who fall prey to the same brainwashing from a very similar government media complex.Jeremy emphasizes how coexisting with the evil entities on both sides of the border who wish to put everyone into a state of slavery is impossible. This is another excellent chat with Jeremy Mackenzie, which must be heard IN FULL!Keep up with Jeremy at the link below:https://ragingdissident.com/----------------------------------------------Hour 2, segment 1: (AUDIO) Doctor's are raging that Quebec and Ontario have dropped vaccine mandates for healthcare workers.https://americanuckradio.com/current-events/doctors-outraged-as-ontario-quebec-deny-covid-19-vaccine-mandates-for-health-workers/------------------------------------------'(AUDIO) A Global News report on an Angus Reid poll which shows why Canadian's aren't getting the vaccine.Rather than trying to compartmentalize this, maybe the simple takeaway should be that these people chose to say NO!Leave it at that.https://americanuckradio.com/breaking-news/polling-the-unvaccinated-why-canadians-say-they-wont-get-a-covid-vaccine/--------------------------------------------(AUDIO) Pfizer is trying to entice children to get vaccinated because it will make them "superheroes."How sick. The target demographic of this garbage isn't children...it's actually parents.Mike explains and analyzes this scam.---------------------------------------------(AUDIO) Trudeau blathers about Duwali, the "festival of lights."Something about light conquering darkness.Happy Duwali to everyone, from a failed Bollywood actor.---------------------------------------------Hour 2, segment 2: (AUDIO) Ben Carson, along with the head of pediatrics at John's Hopkins, disagrees with jabbing children.---------------------------------------------(AUDIO)James Carville blames wokeness for electoral failure around the nation.https://americanuckradio.com/current-events/james-carville-blames-stupid-wokeness-for-dems-weak-showing/---------------------------------------------(AUDIO) Glenn Beck makes some sense, as he talks about the "Joe Rogan" effect that is becoming the norm across all facets of our society.Mike greatly expounds on this.----------------------------------------------If your American Airlines flight was delayed, or canceled, would a free joint make it better?L.A. based company Emjay, a cannabis retail and delivery company comes to the rescue.https://americanuckradio.com/current-events/u-s-company-offers-free-joints-to-grounded-american-airlines-passengers/-----------------------------------------In Jerusalem, a defrocked Rabbi has implicated himself in two gory murders, dating back to 1986.Rabbi from hell, indeed.https://americanuckradio.com/breaking-news/rabbi-from-hell-at-center-of-gruesome-cult-murders/----------------------------------------------Enjoy all this, and more, in a splendid hour 2 from Mike.
Today we break down Tim Horton's entry into the fats food pizza game. They started testing Tim's Pizza at 20 select Ontario locations and somehow, everyone, including and especially Ryan who's a total food snob. We check out some reviews, and wondered why the fuck McDonald's isn't storming the fast food gates by bringing back the McPizza!!! SERIOUSLY, Ronald. Let's fucking GO! While we're on the topic of Pizza, Dean wants to talk about the best pizza that no one talks about. We have an sales update on the FUFW shirt sale. Parn.ca is getting a hefty check in the mail thanks to Peterborough Mayor Diane Therrien. HOWEVER, someone here @ DeanBlundell.com has an issue with all the bad language on merch. Our Merch. We dig in. Former Vet John Dow joins us. He's spearheading the Mass Mefloquine lawsuit, and in light of Diagolon founder Jeremy Mackenzie's threatening us, Dean wanted John to come on to explain why so many former military cats like Jeremy become accelerationists. Big word, but it's important to remember most radicalized former military become radicalized because the government fucks them over when they leave the service. Almost all of them carry around some deep seeded shit most of us will never understand.

Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Robert KuneyThe Honchos returned after taking a well-deserved Spring Break vacation. The Honchos recounted their vacations and then skewed really old with some chatter about the Monkees and Carole King before transitioning to Who Wore It Best? This is episode 58, so we paid tribute to another famous 58, former Red Sox, Phillies, and Nationals relief pitcher Jonathan Papelbon. The Honchos finished the opening segment with another batch of headlines that included cats as weapons, bad neighbors, and Elon Musk's purchase of Twitter (he just outbid Paul for the little blue bird). The NFL Recap focused on the upcoming NFL Draft and how it is Christmas in April for Rob. The conversation focused on what teams look for in the draft, best player available or need, and why the so-called experts focus so much on Combine measurables and ignore how they perform at game speed. The Honchos checked in on the USFL as well and whether this will be the Spring league to survive. SPOILER ALERT! It will not.The NHL/NBA/MLB segment opened with a salute to two NHL legends the world lost recently, Mike Bossy and Guy Lafleur, and the dynasties they represented. The Honchos also wound down the NHL regular season before moving on to the NBA. It was all Brooklyn Nets talk in the NBA portion because for a team that was swept out of the playoffs they seem to be the number one story in basketball. A very brief look at the MLB focused on Miguel Cabrera's 3,000th hit and the exclusive club that he has joined and the San Diego Padres opening the door for advertising on the uniforms. The Honchos may have had some jet lag after two weeks off, but there was enough energy to end like they always do with the Dope of the Week. This week's winner was Rob Manfred, the alleged commissioner of Major League Baseball. Follow everywhere @sportshonchos.
It's just a little blood when I cough, what the big deal? Can a little cough take your life? What's your mentality in regards to taking care of yourself? In this strangely lighthearted and funny episode, we talk to Ryan Lindley from The Dean Blundell Podcast and Sheeple Shepherd Podcast about his extremely serious health care experience, one that could have taken his life. Listen as he describes his terrifying experience (like a comedian) and what advice he has about not ignoring your health. Between failed hack broadcaster Dean Blundell and his entourage of incels getting ratio and comments massacred resulted in hiding the video, and hiding from ME - the absolute cavalcade of seething crying babies over Marxism being rejected in Virginia OR the obliteration of the Kyle Rittenhouse prosecution case... AND the "muh mandate!" being destroyed in Ontario and Quebec for health care workers...
