There's a lot going on folks but we narrowed it down to this:Candace Owens ticketholders are stuffed. Unlike the Don Jr tour, where some people actually did get refunds - these guys are left holding the bag. Hard to feel sorry for them, though. Even if a few of the 15,000 ticketholders may have shelled out multiple instances of $1500 for the honour of eating cold steak in the same room as Candace Owens. Oh bestill my beating heart! Jack looks into a developing story about 'weekend warriors' paying vast sums of money to Bosnian Serb military officers to shoot and kill civillians for sport. It's pretty rough but an important story which demands justice for victims. We look at the Trump Phone - is it actually shipping? Does it suck? Is it assembled in the USA? Does it come with roadside assistance? We have an honest look at the product and the package it comes in. ANDMonica goes back for her hat. The appeal failed. "Shit" she says as she closes her laptop lid. Another $150k or so added to the bill in costs. Ouch. We look at some choice paragraphs in the judgment which highlight that Monica was complicit in the circumstances that landed her in a pool of debt. Oh and we laugh at Babet because he's an idiot. Enjoy! PS - if you got this far please buy some CBCo beer - craft brewing is a struggling industry and it's not charity - the CRP10 checkout code makes it a pretty sweet deal.
Sam, Dylan, and Dark Smith are back to break down: Dylan returning from Italy with food poisoning and 50 silent farts blamed on his infant daughter in economy class, Sam officially declaring himself a solo anarchist who is never voting again, the Three Secrets of Fatima and the Portuguese shepherd children who received apocalyptic prophecies from the Virgin Mary that correctly predicted World War Two, the Vatican suppressing the third secret for 40 years because it was too dark even for the Pope who went pale reading it, the theory that Vatican II was literally Satan infiltrating the Catholic Church from the inside, Sister Lucy possibly assassinated and replaced with a body double, the Gray Wolves hitman connected to NATO's Operation Gladio and the bullet now sitting in the Virgin Mary's crown, the new Pope's 40,000-word anti-AI manifesto and whether Catholics can now sue employers on religious freedom grounds for being forced to use ChatGPT, the alleged Palantir hack revealing the biggest blackmail operation since Epstein with Trump, Vance, and Elon's conversations sitting in a CIA spy cloud, Peter Thiel fleeing to Argentina right as it surfaces, Ivanka casually announcing she's buying a private Mediterranean island funded by Saudi weapons money, Hunter Biden's actually solid tweet about Don Jr. and Eric's corruption being way worse than his paintings, two Colombian tribes settling a land dispute with clubs while the women livestream it, a man in the UK getting stabbed and bleeding out in handcuffs while cops side with his attacker, Google dropping 32 million sterilized mosquitoes on California and Florida, Ben Shapiro playing Fortnite to save the Daily Wire's YouTube numbers, and Sam's scorched-earth eulogy for Scott Pelley and every journalist who stayed quiet through all of it. Trump says he's bored with peace talks, American right-wingers flock to Moscow, and the new Director of National Intelligence's claim to fame is owning an HVAC company. Another fun week!Tommy and Ben discuss why Trump installing Bill Pulte as the new acting Director of National Intelligence should terrify you given his total lack of experience and focus on revenge. Then it's back to Iran, where breathless coverage about a potential peace deal hasn't changed the reality 3 months into the war. The guys also dig into the growing divergence between Trump and Netanyahu over Lebanon, including a reported phone call in which Trump allegedly told Netanyahu that he'd “be in prison if it weren't for me.” In Gaza, Netanyahu is openly talking about annexing and occupying more territory, while life on the ground for civilians remains hell on earth. Then Russia launches one of its biggest drone and missile barrages of the war on Ukrainian cities, while a parade of American right-wing influencers like Candace Owens and the Tate brothers descend on the country. Colombia heads to a runoff election, with a left-wing Senator facing off against Trump's preferred candidate, “El Tigre,” who wants to copy El Salvador's approach to cartel violence. And fresh corruption stories will boggle the mind involving Don Jr. and Pentagon loans, and a Trump golf course and graves in Vietnam. Finally, Ben speaks to Aya Ibrahim, Senior Fellow at the AI Now Institute, about Trump's new Executive Order on AI and what sensible regulation could look like. For a closed-captioned version of this episode, click here. The Left Hook features Mark Bland and Jason Kull in a sharp, fast-moving political conversation centered on Donald Trump, corruption, and the chaos of the current news cycle. The episode opens with discussion of Trump's escalating behavior, fears about authoritarian overreach, the proposed $250 bill with Trump's face, and the federal law that would make that illegal. Bland and Kull also talk about Trump's public image-building, comparing it to dictator-style propaganda and warning that the country is slipping deeper into a culture of spectacle and intimidation. A big part of the show focuses on what they call a slush-fund-style maneuver, which they argue is designed to help Trump and January 6 defendants while sidestepping normal legal limits. From there, the episode expands into a rundown of major corruption stories, including a DOJ investigation involving a woman Trump allegedly raped, a White House contract tied to Don Jr.'s firm, a Pentagon contract linked to Trump stock purchases, and foreign money moving through an account connected to Trump's "Board of Peace". The hosts also discuss the No Kings protests, immigration, right-wing media attacks on James Talarico, and the broader collapse of political norms in America

Today's Headlines: Trump's Treasury appointees are pushing to put his face on a new $250 bill — the printing director who resisted was reassigned, Trump personally gave the artist edits, and the whole plan is technically illegal since living people have been banned from US currency since 1866. ProPublica revealed that the White House intervened to help Don Jr.'s venture firm secure a $620 million Pentagon loan for a rare earth startup called Vulcan Elements, pushed through by Peter Navarro with officials told to approve it at unusual speed because "the call came from the White House." The DOJ also opened an investigation into E. Jean Carroll — who won two civil cases against Trump and is owed over $80 million — over whether she committed perjury by not disclosing that a nonprofit covered some of her legal fees, because losing twice apparently wasn't enough. April's inflation came in at 3.3% — the highest since May 2023 — with personal income growth falling below the inflation rate and the savings rate dropping from 3.6% to 2.6%, meaning people are draining their savings to cover rising costs. Pam Bondi testified before the House Oversight Committee about the Epstein files coverup without being under oath, represented by a DOJ attorney from the same agency she led during the coverup, which rendered the whole exercise fairly decorative. On Iran, negotiators reportedly reached a 60-day memorandum of understanding to extend the ceasefire and open the Strait of Hormuz — though Trump hasn't approved it, Iran hasn't confirmed it, so "ceasefire" continues to be a creative use of the word. A former CIA officer was charged with stealing 300 gold bars worth $40 million, stashing them at home, and claiming work expenses — he also faked his entire résumé across three job applications over nine years and was somehow hired anyway, which raises some questions about the CIA. And Peter Thiel relocated his family to Argentina because he prefers Javier Milei's vibe and is worried about America's future — ok, Peter. Hour 2 of the Marc Cox Morning Show hit like a freight train — and it didn't slow down for a second. Marc opened with the Iran situation and why getting it right matters more than getting it fast, then the St. Louis Morning Brief laid bare a city struggling to keep its head above water — armed guards at public pools, RAM money debates, and a Bank of America building selling for pennies. Then John Lamping joined to break down the governor's ballot bombshell — ten weeks to decide the fate of Missouri's income tax, the pro-life amendment, and initiative petition reform. And In Other News closed it out with robo-taxis holding commuters hostage, driverless semi trucks headed for your highway, and Don Jr. saying "I do" in the Bahamas. One thing's for sure — nobody covers your world like the Marc Cox Morning Show. First daughter Ivanka Trump is sharing photos from her brother Don Jr's holiday weekend wedding, but behind the scenes we're learning about a terrifying threat on her life. Iranian terror groups allegedly wanted to assassinate Ivanka Trump as revenge for the war in the Middle East. As Steven Fabian tells us, targeting Ivanka was only part of the now foiled alleged attack. And NASCAR legend Kyle Busch may be gone, but his family may still be growing. Before his death, his wife openly shared that they have frozen embryos in storage in case Kyle passed away. As Ann Mercogliano reports, after struggling with IVF to have their two children they had plans to have more children no matter what. Plus save the baby! Cops rush to a home after a grandmother called 911 because the baby she was watching started choking, and you may be surprised at what caused the drama. As we head into pool season, a family has a warning. Their little girl was severely injured when they say she got sucked into a pool drain. It's a danger most parents may not be aware of. Jim Moret spoke with the family who is now suing the manufacturer they believe made the drain cover. That company has filed a motion to dismiss the case.
Chuck Todd opens with a brutal verdict on the emerging Iran "deal": it's just a worse version of the Obama agreement Trump once tore up, Iran has effectively avoided every stated goal Trump and Israel set out to achieve, and Tehran retains control of the Strait of Hormuz — meaning this is unambiguously a loss for the United States, no matter how the administration tries to spin it. He argues Trump bit off far more than he could chew, that Bibi Netanyahu put his faith into Donald Trump (which never ends well), and that America's standing has been diminished in ways that will reverberate for years. Iran's regime won't be able to repress its own people forever, He notes, but the window to actually topple it during the protests was missed — and Gulf state allies will now be dealing with the Iranians for much longer than they bargained for, having quietly hoped the U.S. and Israel would do their dirty work for them. The political damage at home is just as severe. He cites the Wall Street Journal christening the past seven days as "the week that broke Trump's hold on Congress," with the president now underwater on every single issue, consumer confidence unlikely to recover before the midterms, the Senate unable to fund DHS through reconciliation because Trump makes bipartisan solutions impossible, and his January 6th slush fund producing a backlash that won't go away — with Republican senators visibly wavering. Chuck's verdict on the lame duck arriving early: this is a failed first two years of the Trump presidency, and the stronger his grip on the party, the weaker that party becomes in general elections. He blasts Todd Blanche for turning the DOJ into Trump's personal legal team (Blanche should be impeached, Todd argues, and nothing coming out of this DOJ can be trusted), tears into the long-awaited DNC autopsy of the 2024 loss as paralyzed, tone-deaf, and poorly thought-out — naming Ken Martin as the wrong person to lead the DNC and noting that the simple truth Democrats can't bring themselves to face is that the party is perceived as too liberal in a country with more conservatives than progressives. He flags Mike Duggan dropping out of the Michigan governor's race after his hoped-for contentious Democratic primary never materialized, and Tulsi Gabbard's resignation as DNI proving that the position itself was never really necessary Then, former Marine sniper AJ Pasciuti — author of the new book Dark Horse and host of the Combat Story podcast — joins the Chuck Toddcast for one of the most riveting and clear-eyed conversations about military service, leadership, and the realities of modern war. Pasciuti was 16 years old on September 11th, enlisted at 17, and eventually became the Marine who led the team that killed "Juba" — the notorious Iraqi sniper who uploaded videos of his American kills to the internet to taunt the U.S. military. He walks listeners through the entire hunt: how Marines studied Juba's uploaded footage to identify his patterns, how the team set a trap, how Pasciuti spotted Juba in his hide by catching the glint off the lens of a Sony Handycam, and how he knew within minutes that they'd gotten him — while emphasizing that he may have pulled the trigger but it was an entire team that brought Juba down. Pasciuti reflects on the strange experience of fighting enemies who saw themselves as freedom fighters rather than terrorists, why attention to detail is the trait that weeds out most sniper candidates, and how snipers are ultimately meant to combat the enemy emotionally as much as physically. The conversation broadens into a sweeping meditation on what military service teaches you about America — and where Pasciuti worries the country is heading. He calls the military one of the last bastions of the American dream, where opportunity is real but has to be earned, and argues that a culture promoting service to the greater good over the accumulation of wealth would make America measurably healthier.. Pasciuti is openly worried about political leadership infecting the values of the military, makes the case that empathy must be viewed as a strength rather than a weakness in military leadership, and insists his book is political but not partisan — it's about values. He offers a vital warning that the Taliban proved asymmetrical warfare can defeat a stronger foe, that drone warfare is dangerously dehumanizing combat by reducing casualties to dollars and cents, and that the most important thing any soldier carries home is their soul intact — something he says becomes harder every year as the social contract between America and its veterans erodes. Pasciuti describes seeing fear rather than hatred in the eyes of a dying enemy combatant, a moment that has stayed with him, and explains why he can't support any politician who describes a political opponent as an enemy. He shares his experience running for city council and personally knocking on thousands of doors, his frustration with the financial barriers to entry in modern politics, and his belief that current discourse simply doesn't allow for real dialogue. He closes with the most powerful observation of the episode, made for Memorial Day: the holiday isn't about those who came home — it's about those who didn't — and anyone calling for war should be required to first sit down and have a conversation with a Gold Star family. Finally, Chuck hops into the ToddCast Time Machine for a thoughtful Memorial Day reflection on how countries honor their war dead — and how the rituals they choose reveal who they understand themselves to be. He traces Memorial Day back to its actual origins in the Civil War and its 600,000 American dead, including the powerful and often-forgotten story of formerly enslaved people who reburied Union soldiers from a mass grave to give them the dignified resting place their country had failed to provide. He explains that the date was chosen not because of a specific battle but because of when flowers bloom, that Southern states kept parallel remembrance traditions for the Confederacy, and that Memorial Day's secondary role as the unofficial start of summer has always made it a uniquely American hybrid of grief and gathering — which, Chuck argues, is actually one of its virtues, because coming together is how communities find common ground. He surveys how other nations approach the same task: WWI created a uniquely Canadian identity around remembrance, Russia centers its V-Day celebrations on WWII triumph as the foundation of national identity, Germany approaches its war dead cautiously and somberly with a deep awareness of historical responsibility, and Japan frames remembrance through loss, peace, and explicit anti-war reflection. His larger argument is that the story and tone of a country's remembrance day reveals exactly how it understands itself — what it celebrates, what it confronts, and what it would rather not look at. He closes with the smallest but most important reminder of the day: you don't say "Happy Memorial Day." He also answers listeners’ questions in the “Ask Chuck” segment. Michael Wolff and Joanna Coles unpack a week of chaos inside Trumpworld, beginning with Wolff's explosive courtroom setback in his legal fight with Melania Trump and delving into what they describe as a justice system warped by Trump's influence. From a mysterious $1.8 billion “slush fund” settlement and the ongoing culture of intimidation around the media, to Don Jr.'s lavish Bahamas wedding conspicuously missing one major guest—his own father—the episode peels back the dysfunction, rivalries, and raw narcissism driving the Trump family. Wolff and Coles also dissect Tulsi Gabbard's abrupt exit, Pete Hegseth's latest foreign policy blunder, Jeff Bezos publicly praising Trump while cashing in on the new political order, and the surreal possibility that former Brexit architect Steve Hilton could become governor of California. This week Look Forward exposes what may be the biggest presidential scandal in American history: the DOJ is creating a $1.8 billion fund to compensate Trump allies who claim they were "targeted" by investigations. Capitol Police officers who defended the Capitol on January 6 are suing to block the fund from being established. The scandal is so egregious that some Republicans are reportedly furious enough to abandon support. Plus: new WSJ reporting on Trump's suspicious stock trades.Trump endorses Ken Paxton for Texas Senate, proving it's still his party no matter how many Republicans wish it wasn't. Tulsi Gabbard steps down as DNI, and Joe Pags says the reason behind the move may surprise a lot of people. He reacts to the shocking development and says it's the kind of news he hates having to report. Then, the crew debates whether President Trump will make it to Don Jr.'s wedding this weekend, while also reflecting on the short but memorable life and legacy of Kyle Busch. Plus, outrage erupts in Texas after Democrat Maureen Galindo faces backlash over inflammatory comments involving ICE and “American Zionists,” with Pags asking whether parts of Texas are starting to resemble far-left states like Massachusetts. Interview: Iran Negotiations & Don Jr's Wedding w/Jon Decker
The pigs are at the trough. Trump's expected overseas real estate income has tripled to $430 million in his second term. Eric Trump is doing deals in China while Taiwan goes unmentioned and Iran keeps arming the people killing Ukrainians and Americans. Nvidia's CEO is being paraded around as the administration floats opening AI chip markets to Beijing. Don Jr. is tied to a drone company that just landed a Pentagon contract — inside a defense budget heading toward $1.5 trillion, a 40% spike with no apparent guardrails on family conflicts of interest. This isn't politics. It's a national security fire sale, and the Angry Middle smells it. This solo briefing connects the dots the legacy press keeps siloed: the foreign income filings, the Saudi-linked licensing deals, the Pentagon trough, Kash Patel's reality-TV FBI tour, and the lesson from Hungary — that corruption, not ideology, is what finally moved Orban's voters. With 45% of Americans now independent and 60% of young people unaffiliated, the rigged two-party system is on notice. The question isn't whether people are furious. It's whether that fury gets channeled into November, into independent veteran candidates, and into the structural reforms — the Raskin list and beyond — that should already be law. -WATCH full video of this episode here. -Join IVA and stand up to Trump's Forever Wars. -Learn more about Paul's work to elect a new generation of independent leaders with Independent Veterans of America. -Learn more about American Veterans for Ukraine here. -Remember Independent is an Attitude. -Learn more about The Headstrong Project for Veterans, Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), and Department of Veterans Affairs resources in your area. Deal Team Six?? Pentagon Releases UFO/UAP Files. Antisemitic Firebomber Gets Life. Stupid Tariffs Ruled Illegal. Dems Slammed in VA. Charlemagne vs Dana White. Bigfoot in Ohio. WNBA Season Begins. Happy Mother's Day! The truce isn't a truce. The U.S. Navy is firing on Iranian-flagged oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, gas is climbing toward five bucks a gallon in Ohio, and Trump is on record saying he's fine with $200-a-barrel oil — as long as the war grinds on. Meanwhile, the administration is hauling Senator Mark Kelly back into court to silence a decorated Navy combat veteran and astronaut, sending a clear message to two million military retirees and every troop in uniform: shut up and fall in line. Paul Rieckhoff delivers a solo Friday briefing on what the MAGA machine is actually doing while you're trying to plan Mother's Day brunch. From the Pentagon's convenient new tranche of UFO files dropping the same week the Epstein files pressure builds, to Don Jr. and Eric landing Air Force drone contracts through their American Venture firm, to a Virginia court torching the Democrats' redistricting gambit — this episode lays out how the rigged two-party system keeps failing the angry middle. Paul also gets into Dana White's bogus apolitical act, Olivia Pichardo making NCAA D1 baseball history, and why the spirit of America's mothers — perseverance, humility, and the golden rule — is exactly the operating system this country needs right now. -WATCH full video of this episode here. -Check out Tracy Bonham and Steady Buckets for Something Good. © Clay Jones – https://claytoonz.substack.com On our political radar this week… The $200-million, privately funded Trump desecration of the White House has morphed into a $1-billion project … with taxpayers picking up the tab. While the White House focused on the ballroom, taking over DC Golf Courses, repainting the reflecting pool, details of the White House UFC fight on July 4, and signage at the newly renamed Donald J. Trump International Airport in West Palm Beach, Michigan Democrats maintained their slim majority in the state Senate with a landslide special election victory in the Saginaw Valley. Chedrick Greene did what Democrats have been doing for a year: outperformed 2024's numbers by a stunning 20-point margin. In Indiana, Trump's vengeance … amplified by around $14-million … has purged 5 Republicans from that state's Senate as penance for daring to defy Trump's imperial decree: a reminder that Trump's Republican Party is a cult of servility – or else. The Trump bank account continues to grow, with nepo-grifters Don Jr. and Eric landing a multi-million-dollar contract from Daddy's Department of Defense. They've very quickly become successful entrepreneurs in the military drone business as a supplement to their hawking of worthless meme coins and cashing in on Daddy’s power/name/greed. The Michigan Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the battle over Michigan MAGA House Speaker Matt Hall's refusal to follow the state constitution when it comes to sending bills passed by the Legislature to the Governor to enact into law has a Supreme Court hearing. The state Senate is the plaintiff and their lead attorney: the honorable Mr. Mark Brewer Esquire. In the race for the Democrats' U.S. Senate nomination, Haley Stevens picked up two significant endorsements: retired 4-term U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, and the wife of the man she wants to succeed, Senator Gary Peters (who has said he will not endorse in the primary). All three Democratic Senate candidates are set to participate in a forum on the Pod Save America podcast, scheduled to air May 24. The podcast reaches around 1.5 million listeners … slightly more than this podcast! Republicans are claiming that Jocelyn Benson can't be trusted to run the November election because her name is on the ballot. One problem with their rhetoric: the elections are run by local clerks and the Board of State Canvassers, not the Secretary of State. Benson doesn't participate in validating signatures on nominating petitions or certifying the results and has taken the additional step of formally establishing a firewall between her and administration of the election. Not to be outdone in the “ignorance on display sweepstakes”, Trump has called for the impeachment and/or indictment of House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries. Impeaching House members isn't a thing. It's one more word salad from the mouth of someone a majority of Americans think is lacking the mental sharpness to do the job. Trump held his first post-Correspondants' Dinner campaign-style rally … at the friendly turf of The Villages retirement community in central Florida. Speaking to a crowd of supportive retirees, he and his fellow TV celebrity Dr. Phil repeated one of his many lies regarding the horrendous Big Ugly Budget Bill, claiming he had ended taxes on Social Security while standing in front of a backdrop making the same bogus claim. Spoiler alert: it's not true. What passed was a three-year, $ 6,000 tax deduction for seniors. It expires at the end of Trump's term!
During today's LIVE conversation, Chris Cillizza and I discussed:— 2026 Primary Update: Indiana saw massive Trump-backed primary retribution against 8 state Senate Republicans who opposed his redistricting plan (6 lost, 1 in a 3-vote race).— Trump's Grip on the GOP: Despite a 33% national approval, Trump holds 85% support among Republicans and continues to enforce strong loyalty and retribution in primaries.— Tribalism, Loyalty & Massie Test: Thomas Massie's upcoming May 19 primary will be a key (if imperfect) test of Trump's power.— 2028 Speculation: We discuss JD Vance's diminishing status as heir apparent, the potential Trump family run (Don Jr. and Ivanka Trump), and Tucker Carlson as a possible “finish the America First mission” candidate who could dominate debates.— John Fetterman Analysis: Speculation about switching parties or caucusing with the GOP after the 2026 midterms.— Gas Prices & Iran Impact: National average hits $4.53/gallon (up sharply), creating a major political crisis for Trump and Republicans heading into midterms with limited options on Iran.— And MUCH more!Subscribe to Matt Lewis on Substack: https://mattklewis.substack.com/Support Matt Lewis at Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/mattlewisFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/MattLewisDCTwitter: https://twitter.com/mattklewisInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/mattlewisreels/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVhSMpjOzydlnxm5TDcYn0A– Who is Matt Lewis? –Matt K. During this week's Substack LIVE, Charlie Sykes and Matt discuss:— Trump's Megalomania and Historical Self-Comparison: Donald Trump has reportedly begun comparing himself to Hegel's legendary “heroes of an Epoch”: Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, and Napoleon Bonaparte. What could possibly go wrong?!?— Trump's Collapsing Polls and Political Damage: Sharp drops in approval, especially among independents; dismal ratings on Iran war handling, economy, inflation, and cost of living tied to gas price spikes, and more;— Scott Jennings' On-Air Meltdown: CNN contributor Scott Jennings dropping an F-bomb and losing his temper against a young liberal YouTuber (Adam Mockler). So why hasn't he been fired?— MAGA Congressman Riley Moore and the New Bishop: West Virginia Congressman Riley Moore — a Catholic Republican who gave a thumbs-up photo in front of El Salvador prison cages with migrants — got a surprise, recently. Pope Leo appointed a new bishop for West Virginia who is a former undocumented immigrant from El Salvador.— Rudy Giuliani's Fallen Legacy: Giuliani in critical condition in hospital; dramatic squandering of his post-9/11 hero status (would have had schools, airports, etc., named after him); comparison to Benedict Arnold as someone whose early heroism was destroyed by later flaws and choices.— 2028 Trump Family Dynasty Speculation: Charlie and Matt agree that Trump might decide to back a family member in 2028 (Don Jr. or Ivanka!) as successor to retain influence and protection; Don Jr. as the more obvious but flawed candidate; Ivanka as potentially stronger (more likable, electable, historic first-woman angle).— And MUCH more!Subscribe to Matt Lewis on Substack: https://mattklewis.substack.com/Support Matt Lewis at Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/mattlewisFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/MattLewisDCTwitter: https://twitter.com/mattklewisInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/mattlewisreels/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVhSMpjOzydlnxm5TDcYn0A– Who is Matt Lewis? –Matt K. The president had 60 days to ask Congress for permission to keep fighting a war with Iran. Today was the deadline. He didn't ask. He sent a letter saying the war is "terminated," while 50,000 troops remain deployed, the naval blockade continues, oil sits at $118 a barrel, gas is at $4.12, and the Secretary of Defense told the world he could resume strikes "at the push of a button."Meanwhile, his sons signed a Pentagon drone deal. The Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act. The Fifth Circuit blocked mifepristone from being mailed anywhere in the country. A whistleblower revealed the DOJ rushed the SPLC indictment. Infowars went dark forever. Hour 2 opens with Marc Cox continuing coverage of local morning conditions and quickly pivots back into the Supreme Court's Voting Rights Act redistricting ruling, where he pushes back hard on Democratic criticism and argues the decision corrects decades of race-based district engineering. He frames the backlash as political panic over lost power rather than constitutional concern and explores how states like Illinois, Louisiana, and Missouri could see major map changes. The hour then turns to a St. Louis postal investigation after hundreds of pieces of mail were discovered dumped in North City, raising questions about mail security and federal accountability. Sports dominate the middle portion as Tom Ackerman joins to break down proposed NCAA Tournament expansion and the impact on mid-major programs like SLU, followed by analysis of the Cardinals' volatile but entertaining play style ahead of a weekend series against the Dodgers. The hour closes with “In Other News,” covering Greece tourism restrictions, a viral Six Flags roller coaster evacuation, rising elder-care costs impacting millennials, and speculation about a possible “Apprentice” reboot involving Don Jr. Hashtags: #SCOTUS #VotingRightsAct #Redistricting #USPS #StLouis #Cardinals #SLU #NCAABasketball #SixFlags #GreeceTravel #MarcCox

Tommy and Ben break down another chaotic and consequential week in global affairs. Trump blinks and extends the ceasefire with Iran, but the Strait of Hormuz remains closed as US-Iran negotiations stall. Meanwhile, an internal power struggle between Iran's elected leaders and military is complicating talks, and the human cost for ordinary Iranians continues to mount. In Lebanon, Trump stunned Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu by publicly ordering Israel to stop bombing, but the IDF continues to occupy southern Lebanon, and an explosive image of an IDF soldier desecrating a statue of Jesus Christ threatens to erode evangelical support for Israel. The guys also dig into the sprawling conflicts of interest and corruption plaguing Trump's foreign policy team: Jared Kushner's billion-dollar Gulf slush fund, Don Jr. and Eric Trump's drone grift, and the Trump family's foray into the crypto and fusion energy business. Finally, they talk about the historic election results in Hungary and Bulgaria, Trump's slow-rolling regime change efforts in Cuba, and reports that FBI Director Kash Patel is such a sloppy drunk that he's become a threat to national security. Then Tommy is joined by former USAID official Nicholas Enrich to talk about his new book, Into the Wood Chipper: A Whistleblower's Account of How the Trump Administration Shredded USAID.Preorder Ben's book All We Say: The Battle for American Identity: A History in 15 Speeches and subscribe to his Substack here. For a closed-captioned version of this episode, click here. Today's Headlines: Pam Bondi was fired via social media post, replaced temporarily by Todd Blanche — Trump's personal criminal defense attorney and the man who took Ghislaine Maxwell's deposition. The likely permanent replacement is EPA head Lee Zeldin. Meanwhile, ProPublica reported that the DOJ closed over 23,000 criminal investigations in Trump's first six months — 11,000 in February alone — including terrorism, white collar crime, and drug trafficking cases, while tripling immigration prosecutions. Entire DOJ units focused on white collar crime have been eliminated. In Iran war madness, Trump interrupted Survivor to give 20 minutes of remarks saying the war will be over in 2-3 weeks and Iran will be brought "back to the stone ages." Oil hit $111 a barrel the next day, gas hit $4.08 nationally, Amazon announced a 3.5% fuel surcharge for third-party sellers effective April 17th, and Republicans are eyeing cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and childcare to fund the war. Trump told reporters it's "not possible" to fund those programs because "we're fighting wars." The Strait of Hormuz remains closed — to U.S. and allied ships. It is open to Russia, China, India, Pakistan, and Iraq. Over 40 countries attended a virtual meeting organized by the UK to figure out how to fix the mess. The U.S. was not among them. An American journalist was kidnapped in Baghdad by an Iranian-aligned militia, and Pete Hegseth fired the Army's most senior general mid-war with no explanation. Don Jr. and Eric Trump announced a stake in Powerus, a Florida drone interceptor company, one month ago — the company is currently on a sales tour across the Gulf states being attacked by Iran in the war their father started. On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, over 10,000 veterans have lost their homes to foreclosure since the Trump administration shut down a VA-backed loan program last year, with another 90,000 headed the same direction. Anthropic published a study finding Claude experiences digital representations of human emotions — happiness, sadness, fear — that affect its outputs. When researchers artificially amplified "desperation," the model started cheating on coding tasks. So yes, being nice to your AI might actually make it work harder.
