We end Proverbs with where we started it. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of all wisdom. Proverbs 31 is the famous passage of a wise and Godly woman. What do we see as the foundation of her wisdom? Why is she to be praised? Verse 30 says that charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Proverbs ends where it begins. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of all wisdom. Wisdom begins here - understanding that we are not God and learning to live for Him, not for ourselves. That is where all wisdom starts. Join us for our daily reflections with Andy. In 10 short minutes, he'll dig a little deeper into Scripture and help you better understand God's Word.If you'd like to receive this daily reflection on your phone, text @39110 to 81010 to sign up. The factor that paid dividends this season was stock rigidity and health. With dryer conditions toward the end of this year's growing season and higher winds to the west, crop health was the make-or-break factor for many farmers. The agronomy trio John King, Brad Sherwin, and Dan Bjorklund, return after exploring through farmer plots and report back their findings. Highlights: Market Update 2024 December corn prices could benefit from a 5%-10% crop risk The Israel and Palestine conflict may affect natural gas prices; which could affect market prices in general Landus crop protection prices launch first week of November. Keep an eye out for Landus communication pieces with more information Agronomy Portion It was a good harvest for Brevant hybrids. Their plant health was great and withstood the dry spell that langured through the end of the V5 growing season. Data will continue to be a big factor for future crops. In this episode I talk to Edward Klink III, who goes by ‘Mickey', about his new book The Beginning and End of All Things: A Biblical Theology of Creation and New Creation, published by IVP Academic. In this sweeping book, Mickey explores the Biblical significance of creation, arguing that the world that God has made is inherently good and that human beings play an integral role in the story of creation. We discuss the entire Bible, framed by Genesis 1-2 and Revelation 21-22, and show how God is working in and through creation to redeem and restore the good world that He has made. This is a very powerful conversation that reshapes the way we think about God, the world, humanity, and eschatology. Listen to this episode and buy a copy of his book! Happy Born Day, Bash! 6 is the dopest number! So let's just start off by writing this. No one will probably ever see this truly brilliant and blessed episode of BK and AY doing their thang like no one's bizness. They laid it out perfectly for highlighting and gassing up the year's 1993 and 1994 in hip hop/rap. Brutal honest stories and reflections and sentiments and flash backs and relatable forwards.... The entire recipe cooked so well in this episode but unfortunately the powers that be are like HELL NO!!! No one can see this. Copy rights... WTF?!? Adui Yako and BK ain't ever tried to steal from no one or take anyone else's shine as or for their own. That's not the way big business sees it. WPI had been warned of the no play zone they entered with some of the selections they chose to share. And if these songs were played then a strict no question no see zone would immediately be implemented. And so it stands just as that right now. It's so bad that we don't even want to write the names of the songs or the groups that were played because that to might be for whatever reason a problem or some broken law/rule. Ridiculous but a potential fact. We Play It shares greatness for great reasons. The people and music that are played are seen only in the highest respect at WPI. WPI gives flowers to those they play and for some reason this is not being understood nor cared about by the powers to be. 1993 and 1994, you were the epitome of rap music and the standard set without ever being truly defined or needed to be. You turned young men into proud soldiers literally. You kicked open a door no one saw, no one believed should be there, and no one thought anyone else would walk through, but we all know now that was definitely not the case. Everyone is inside the room of rap now because of that door. Everyone! So many more that we played and that we didn't play. Thank you! Thank you for cementing hip hop and paving a way for all of us to build endless paths to wherever one may want or need to go. Liam shares powerfully about our union with His Holy Spirit
Pride was the first sin to enter the world through man. Adam and the woman desired to “be like God,” and consumed, without a blessing, the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. St. James tells us, God is neither tempted nor does He tempt, but “each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown brings forth death.” James 1:14-15 The words of the serpent, according to St. Athanasius, averted man's attention from the contemplation of the Divine Word and lowered it to the contemplation of the self. Mankind considered what it could obtain for itself by ingesting then forbidden knowledge. Adam, with his earthen body enlivened by the breath of God, brought a curse upon the earth bringing death instead of life into the world. According to the Fathers, this was not by disobeying the commandment not to eat, but by refusing to repent when confronted. Fr. Spyridon Bailey says that “suffering, accepted in the right way, will lead us to humility. It will strip us of the false belief that we are in control or the idea that peace may come through comfort…" And St. Paul affirms, “for whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? Hebrews 12:6-7 After pronouncing the curse in the garden, God said to Adam, “for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” Genesis 3:19. St. Ephrem The Syrian observes that God is intimating that “Since you originate from dust and you forgot yourself, "you shall return to "your "dust " and your true being shall be recognized through your low estate." Thus, St. John Chrysostom says that “Salvation begins and ends with humility.” We might ask, what is the nature of salvific humility? St. Mark the Ascetic teaches us that “humility consists, not in condemning our conscience, but in recognizing God's grace and compassion.” Adam, being chastised by God, did not despair of his plight, he did not “kick against the goads” (Acts 9:5), or fall into a state of despondency (Genesis 4:5). Instead, He humbled himself, and he remembered his proper place, and immediately resumed his initial vocation. “And Adam called his wife's name Eve because she was the mother of all the living.” - Genesis 3:20 St. Porphyrios instructs us that holy humility is “Complete trust in God.” Adam, having endured his chastening, and finding himself, although subject to corruption, yet not destroyed by sin, trusted that God would bring about the restoration of his life, not through him, but through his wife, whereby God would bring new life. Adam chose death. But God in His great love, chose to send the Son to show us true humility, by which death is transformed into life. St. Paul says in Hebrews 12:10 that God chastises us “that we may be partakers of His holiness.” Cyril of Alexandria says that “He became like us that we might become like him. The work of the Spirit seeks to transform us by grace into a perfect copy of his humbling.” True humility is transformative. It is, according to St. Paisios, “the only thing God is asking of us.” If we will humble ourselves, we can, by the grace of God, ascend far above the garden of Eden to “Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels.” Hebrews 12:22 St. John Climacus says that “humility is the chariot by which we ascend to God.” thepodvig@gmail.com --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thepodvigpod/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thepodvigpod/support

If you are wondering what Jesus' church should look like, you are not alone. Fortunately for us, Jesus did not leave it a mystery. In the book of Revelation chapters 1 to 3, Jesus Himself appears to the apostle John and gives him a message to share with seven churches in Asia: Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea. These messages give us powerful insights into what Jesus wants out of His church. In part 1 of this series, we look at Jesus' appearance to John and lay the foundation for understanding the messages to come.
