Welcome to the Ava Flanell Show, Episode 392. Today I'm going to chat with Ron Dan from Field Ethos and discuss Pam Bondi's progress on Trump's 2A executive order. I'm your host, Ava Flanell.
Jason Vincent from Field Ethos joins Jay and Kevin in the studio for some titillating dialogue about a myriad of intriguing topics. Conversational themes include the adventure lifestyle, bullfighting, private pilots, pursuing your passions, dream hunts, golfing, red dot sights, picking just one gun to survive with, and a variability of other shenanigans... Oh yeah, and hard dudes. A lot of hard dudes...
With the Sheep Show just over the next ridge, Sheep Fever hosts Gray Thornton and Keith Balfourd sat down with Mike Schoby of Field Ethos to discuss what's new and what to expect at the Show, what our new partner, donor, and exhibitor Field Ethos has in store, and announce a special featured auction item. Field Ethos is a relatively new outdoor adventure media company founded by Donald Trump Jr. and Jason Vincent. Their goal was to unapologetically revive the action-adventure into hunting, fishing, and exploration of the outdoors around the world. With print, digital, and social, they have amassed quite a following of raw adventure seekers searching for a rush wherever they can find it. Along those lines, Field Ethos has fully donated a VIP Mongolian ibex hunt with Donald Trump Jr. and Shikar Safaris to the Sheep Show auction for Saturday night's Grand Finale banquet. Watch live-stream and bid on the Sheep Show nightly live and silent online auctions at this link.

On today's show with GunBroker.com, we're at SHOT Show joined by Donald Trump Jr. and Mike Schoby of Field Ethos and Brett Vorhees from Taurus. We open up with Brett Vorhees talking about getting bit by the African Safari hunting bug. Logan asks the group what's the best advice for someone's first time safari hunt. The group consensus was to not take a checklist with you for what game you want to chase. The reasoning behind this is because when you get there you may be surprised at some of the game you would like to go after! Make sure to listen in to this episode Presented by GunBroker.com to hear all about African Safari hunting! Next up, Logan asks Brett what exciting items Taurus has coming to the hunting world. Brett's first thought was the Taurus Expedition rifle, which is a new Taurus bolt action hunting rifle. He also talks about their Raging Hunter revolver which goes all the way up to a .500 Magnum! Mike Schoby brags about the quality production at Taurus and how their state of the art facility was a surprise for him when he first visited! Trump Jr. tells all about how Brett Vorhees is an actual gun guy. There's a ton of firearm company CEO's who aren't gun enthusiasts, or hunting enthusiasts, so it was a breath of fresh air when Brett gave Field Ethos the green light to give a no holds barred review of Taurus. Logan asks about Field Ethos Magazine and how it got started. Donald Trump Jr. said that Field Ethos was born out of a need to break the mold of outdoor media. With a lack of real conversations being had about hunting, they saw a void that needed to be filled. Mike Schoby says that one of the best things about Field Ethos is their honesty, even some companies that are paying Field Ethos as part of their partnership. Mike believes that it's one of the most important parts of what makes Field Ethos stand out in today's world of outdoor media. Closing out, Logan asks a tough question – if you could own one gun, what gun would it be? With an almost impossible question to answer for the crew, he then delves into what firearms everyone learned to shoot. The crew talks about their favorite guns, grail guns, and guns that they would love to get their hands on if they could. Tune in to the full episode to hear all about it! The show launches every Thursday morning. Subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

As military spec ops in Iraq, bill had the idea for Spartan forge. He realized that the prosecution/finding of terrorist targets and pursuit of trophy whitetails have many parallels. Jason and Bill discuss the mapping software designed in war, made for hunters.
Governor Kristi Noem is a rancher, farmer, small business owner, and New York Times bestselling author of Not My First Rodeo: Lessons Learned From the Heartland. Watch as see applies those hard earned lessons in her conversation with Jason and Charlie.

Field Ethos was the brainchild of Donald Trump Jr. and Jason Vincent, a multi-media platform to tell the stories of time in the field, but with an unapologetic, cut-to-the-chase brand of adventure, exploration, and the things that matter most, the life-long bonds we create with those we share campfires with. In this episode, co-host Keith Balfourd visits with Bozeman local Mike Schoby, Field Ethos's COO. Mike's resume includes past Editor-in-Chief of Petersen's Hunting and Guns & Ammo magazines. He's hunted everything from everywhere and is a key piece of the Field Ethos platform, including a website, newsletter, printed Field Journal, newsletter, and podcast. Their approach to sharing information and story-telling is unique, edgy, and entertaining, as if you were telling tales with friends over a campfire with a bottle of brown. The unapologetic part is we hunt because we hunt; it's in our blood.
Christian Schauf is the founder and CEO of Uncharted Supply Company, a manufacturer of high-quality survival systems and products made to empower people with the proper gear and education to guide them back to safety in an unanticipated emergency. Christian Schauf, a serial adventurer, athlete, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, grew up on a farm in Wisconsin where he learned to navigate the environment, operate and repair vehicles, and handle animals from a very young age. When emergencies would strike their small community, Schauf's family would leverage their tractors, chainsaws, and experience, to help dig out or clear a path for their neighbors. His upbringing etched memories of being prepared for enduring the worst – and always lending a helping hand to anyone in need – a trait Schauf carries today.

On this week's episode, we are remembering the life of James Gutherie. He is thought of as an extremely talented writer for several outdoor magazines like Guns and Ammo, Field & Stream, and Outdoor Life- but as exceptional of a writer as he was, he was a much better friend to many people. Donald Trump Jr. joins the podcast for a robust conversation about the future of hunting, and a myriad of other current affairs. Field Ethos Journal We're outdoor adventure seekers with hunting, fishing, travel and conservation at the center of our DNA. For too long mainstream media and corporations have defined the narratives of time in the field. Our Journal is changing that. We're giving a voice to you: the nomads, sojourners, and the searchers. By delivering content from contributors worldwide, Field Ethos will tell the stories of the adventure minded – whether that's travel to remote corners of the world or a trip to the woods outside of town. Through rich content across platforms in print, online, film, social media and conversations on the Field Ethos podcast, we're making you, our audience, the story tellers. This is Field Ethos. Donald Trump Jr. Founder Most people see me as a businessman, a figure in the political world and a family man. While I certainly love all of these things I also felt the need to work on a passion project in the world of hunting, fishing and adventure. Myself along with several friends launched Field Ethos Journal as a small business dedicated to telling the stories of time in the field. Our brand focuses on the things that truly matter to us: the places we go, the people we meet, the cultures we experience, the adventures that lie in wait for anyone willing to take a step into the unknown and the global successes of conservation that preserve all of these things for generations to come. I hope you'll follow along and even take part in what we're doing. Life's greatest adventures are ahead of us all. Photo credit: @davidmccleafphoto Kifaru Become a Patron!
