Message from 16/08/2020 by Nicolene Du PlessisGOD IS COMMITTED IN THIS COVENANT WITH US. ARE WE COMMITTED TO THIS COVENANT AS THE BRIDE?WE LIVE IN A CULTURE THAT DESIRES INTIMACY WITHOUT RESPONSIBILITY AND PLEASURE WITHOUT COVENANT.
This week we had guest speaker, Ed Strong, from One Life Church in Pietermaritzburg. He shares with us the difference between 'scattered" and "shattered" with regards to the church right now. Shattered has the notion of being destroyed and in the negative. Where scattered has a sense of sowing and planting out in the positive. Please follow us on other social media platforms - #sermon #edstrong #foresightchurchOur Website: http://www.foresightchurch.co.zaFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/foresightchurchInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/foresight_church
The optimism test: Do you see the glass half FULL or half EMPTY??? Chris askes the question to ultimately explain: The Spirit WITHOUT LIMIT!IS THE GLASS HALF FULL OR HALF EMPTY – IT DEPENDS ON WHO IS DOING THE LOOKING!1. Rather demonstrate than talk2. People need to experience God in order to understand3. The holy spirit describes truth in his own vocabulary. We may be asking the wrong questions. Instead of asking “Where is God?” we should ask “What is God doing right now?”God is knocking at the door (heart/lives) of believers (church) that may have disregarded him. In REV 3:20 - Jesus is saying I will come share with you where you are at – then come and share in the inheritance I have for you.REVELATION 3:20 - 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.The holy spirit gives us keys and streamlines our lives BUT we sometimes treat him like an outsider.- What is God doing in the world? - (What is happening in the world right now (Covid 19) has not caught God unprepared. The situation we are in has caused the systems of the world to wobble – not God.)- What is God doing in our nation?- What is God doing in our town?- What is God doing through the Holy Spirit in our church?- What is God doing in your home?REVELATION 3:20EPHESIANS 4:301 COR 2:16CONTACT US DIRECTLY: https://bit.ly/FSconnectPlease follow us on other social media platforms - Our Website: http://www.foresightchurch.co.zaFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/foresightchurchInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/foresight_c...
Chris talks about the ten virgins waiting for the groom. In waiting, they ALL fell asleep, but when the groom arrived five were prepared with extra oil in their lamps and five were not, having to leave temporarily to get more oil which resulted in them being late and thus rejected by the groom.MAT 24:44So, you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.1 THESSALONIANS 1:3We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, yourlabor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.MAT 25:1-13 – PARABLE OF THE 10 VIRGINSDo you have enough oil in your lamp? Message from 19/04/2020 by Chris Zeelie NOTHING WORKS LIKE THE LOCAL CHURCH – WHEN THE LOCAL CHURCH WORKS WELL. The church we see in the bible was a radical community (1 THESSALONIANS 1:3-10), they were a real church for real people. This is the same vision that Chris & Suzaan had for Foresight church. WHAT MADE THIS COMMUNITY DIFFERENT? • Joy & Sincerity • Purpose & mission • Overflowing love 1 Thes 1: 3-10Acts 2:41-42.

Message from 05/04/2020 By Dave KrugerLockdown has changed the way we do life and has temporarily become our new normal • What have we done with our time? • Has lockdown intensified our relationship with Jesus? • Have we become the disciple spoken about in John 13:35?Scripture: Mark 10:17-27The Rich Young Ruler• He had all the comforts of life• Didn’t have to do much because he had it all• When ask to lay it all down and follow Jesus, he couldn’t. Fear of the unknown• He didn’t realize that Jesus would take care of him in ways unimaginableQuestions• What did it look like to be a Christian pre-Corona/Lockdown?• What does it look like to be a Christian during Lockdown?• What will it look like being a Christian post Lockdown? The message of All In is simple: if Jesus is not Lord of all then Jesus is not Lord at all. It’s all or nothing.• The Gospel costs nothing. You can’t earn it or buy it. It can only be received as a free gift compliments of God’s grace. It doesn’t cost anything, but it demands everything.• It demands that we go “all in,” a term that simply means placing all that you have into God’s hands.• You’ve never actually sacrificed anything for God, if you always get back more than you gave up, have you sacrificed anything at all?Lasting thought• Going ALL IN, means dethroning yourself, and enthroning Him.
Message from 15/03/2020 by: Chris ZeelieThe purpose of the church is to help people fulfill God’s purposes for their lives. The reason for everything:Everything starts with God and His Supremacy! (Col 1:16)God is love. (1 Jn 4:7-8)God loves you and gave you a spiritual family. (Eph 3:14-15)God’s family is the church. (1 Timothy 3:15)God’s family will last forever, outlasting everything else in creation. (Titus 1:2)Although God created us last, he thought of us first. He planned the Universe for his family. (Is 44:2)THE CHURCH is God’s plan. (Eph 3:9-11)Jesus makes the whole plan possible. (Eph 1:11-12)The time is getting close. (Mat 24:14)In the meantime, we can practice for eternity. (Titus 2: 12-13)

Message from 01/03/2020 by Dewald Du Plessis“Waiting on the Lord is the opposite of running ahead of the Lord, and it’s the opposite of bailing out on the Lord,” writes John Piper. “It’s staying at your appointed place while he says stay, or it’s going at His appointed pace while he says go."We have the choice, then, to take a deep breath, release our clenched hands, and let God be God. And we are invited to continue hoping in his greatness.2 WAYS TO WAIT:PASSIVELY: Taking a back-seat and not co-laboring with God. Sitting back and waiting for the call/breakthrough/promise to drop into your lap. Often comes from disappointment and leads to not actively participating in current season. ACTIVELY: Anticipation and expectation and being faithful to steward the prophetic word or call on your life. Serving faithfully. (Pregnant woman gets nursery ready and buys clothes for baby) in the labour she has to intensely focus – in waiting we need to be ALL IN and INTENSELY FOCUSED.GOD’S WAITING PERIODS ARE PREPARATION PERIODS. We often want Him to do something FOR US when He wants to do something THROUGH US. We are often not ready for the solution - Our gifts and callings can often take us to where I character cannot sustain us. We choose BAIL OUT: Mindset: “God you did not come through for me, therefore I will not do anything until you do.”Or we choose - RUNNING AHEAD: Mindset: “God your not doing what I asked, I’m just going to do it myself.” WAITING BENEFITS: Renews our strength (Is 40:31)Establishes security (Psalm 40: 2)Reveals heart motives Transforms our characterWHAT TO DO IN THE WAITING: Pray – stay in communication and intimacy with God.Don’t strive (pushing in your own strength and running ahead in independence) Do what you can, with what you have, where you are. Believe, Bow, worship

Message from 16/02/20 by Kenny Le Roux (Guest speaker)OUTLINE OF THEME:Let your kingdom come – let your will be done – on earth as it is in heaven - It is God’s plan that we bring heaven to earth and walk in the authority He has given us. “As my father sends me, I am sending you.”God is delighted in His creation and has a purpose for every believer. This plan is accomplished through every saint sticking up their hand. We are all given gifts to build up the church and make it strong. Caring for the poor, rejoicing with the rich are expressions of “let heaven come to earth”WE CAN’T LIVE IN THEORY, RITUAL OR ROUTINES – WE NEED TO SEE THE KINGDOM MANIFEST. We can look for evidence of Heaven manifesting in our prayers and pray persistent prayers till there is victory. Push through, keep trusting God.UNITY & Diversity. We all have similar assignments that are done differently but are pleasing to the Lord. (Gen: 1:28 - Subdue is a military term: it means to TAKE GROUND)THE ENEMY IS OUT TO BLUR THE IMAGE OF GOD. God’s plan is destroyed and diluted when we add to it little by little and move away from what God originally intended. Embrace and understand the original plan to be worked out. When we move away from the plan Robots and Rebels are created – be yourself – Unity comes by the Spirit. (Eph 4:3) You side with the devil when you DIVIDE.
Message from 09/02/2020 by Chris Zeelie Exodus 33. The Israelites build a golden calf Presumption of the Word pushes us away from God We sometimes put God in a mold / box just like the Israelites did Psalm 19:2-13 Willful in this scripture also means presumption Exodus 33:1 Moses spoke face to face with God Do you know God that well that you can call on him and his favour for you? Do you know you have an audience with God? Without the presence of God we are just like people of the world Have you met God or just believe what you have heard about him? Hebrews 12:18-28 God wants to be more present in your life than he was with Moses!
Holiness is the condition of being “set apart”.1. Set apart from the world2. Set apart for God Consecration is an intentional and conscious process of personal holiness:1. “I set myself apart from...”2. “I set myself apart unto the purposes of God.”Sanctification is a work of the Spirit to clean me up once I set myself apart.1Peter1:15-16“But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: ‘Be holy because I am holy.’”STAGE 1:Exodus 33 from verse 1 to 10. Moses has spent 40 days in the tangible manifest presence of God.He comes down from Sinai to find the Israelites worshiping a golden calf that had been handcrafted by Aaron: Ex32;4“He took what they handed him and made it into an idol, cast in the shape of a calf, and fashioned it with a tool.”Aaron led the people astray because he was a people-pleaser. (Gal1:10)Aaron says: “I threw the gold into the fire, and out came a calf.” A blatant lie.1. Idols take time to build in our lives2. Idols are intentionally erected3. Idols are crafted with much dedication4. Idols cost us money.Moses calls out “Whoever is for the Lord, join with me.”They get sent to slay brother and neighbor and friend.Ex32:29“You have been set apart (holy) to the Lord today because you were against your own sons and brothers, and He has blessed you this day.”STAGE 2: God responds! Reading EX33:1-10God sends a plague and many die.Psalm 39:11“When you rebuke and discipline anyone for their sin, you consume their wealth like a moth...”1. God is holy2. A Holy God does not cohabit with sin - sin separates us from God. “I will not go with you...”3. God punishes sin. Sin is contagious. “If I go with you I might destroy all of you...”4. The wages of sin is death5. Even in the OT, God makes a way. “I will send my angel ahead of you...”6. God always fulfills His promises.James 4:8STAGE 3: MOSES RESPONDS TO GODEx33:11 onwards1. Moses goes to God2. Moses meets with Jesus face-to-face as a man meets with a friend.3. It was an intentional 2km walk to the Tent of Meeting. We need to meet with God.How do we meet with God?1. It is intentional, not accidental.2. Turn your back on the world and leave the camp3. Draw near to God4. Meet with the Trinity:* Holy Spirit ( the cloud at the entrance)* Jesus (face-to-face)* Father (cannot see His face)Questions:1. How can I move forward in setting myself apart for God’s plan?2. Are there things in my life that are displeasing to God? 3. What things do you do to spend time with God?4. What things can we put in place to live in the conscious manifest presence of God?

Message from 05/01/2020 by Dave KrugerActs 2:14-41 Peter Addresses the CrowdPivotal in New Testament teaching. Why? Partly because God used one man who was initially chosen…. once ran in fear and denied Jesus. stood up. Spoke boldly. Within minutes he captivates his audience with some compelling words. ***Simon Peter, also known as Cephas – “Peter the Rock” (John 1:42), He was one of the first followers of Jesus Christ. He was an outspoken and ardent disciple, one of Jesus’ closest friends, an apostle, andPaul writes that he was a “pillar” of the church (Galatians 2:9). Peter was enthusiastic, strong-willed, impulsive, and, at times, brash. He was a fisherman, a husband, and brother of AndrewPETER HAD CHARISMA“Charisma is compelling attractiveness or charm that can inspire devotion in others”Or Cambridge Dictionary“a special power that people have naturally that makes them able to influence other people and attract their attention and admiration”
Ephesians 4:11-13 WE WERE CREATED FOR SPIRITUAL MATURITY, AND SO FOR US LEADERS, OUR RESPONSIBILITY IS TO EQUIP YOU TO STEP INTO YOUR MINISTRY.Zechariah 2:1-5 “Run, tell that young man, ‘Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the great number of people and animals in it. HEBREWS 13TO BE A CHURCH WITHOUT WALLS. ITS NOT A PICTURE OF A PHYSICAL CHURCHBUT THIS IS RATHER A PICTURE OF JESUS STANDING WITH A MEASURING TAPE IN HIS HAND, ASKING YOU THE QUESTION. WHO ARE YOU? WHERE ARE YOU GOING? WHAT ARE YOU DOIN? ARE YOU READY?ITS CONTEXTUALChurch is NOT a BuildingScripture makes it very clear what a church is and what it is supposed to be. It is not a building. It is not a program. It is not a single service. The Church is God's people gathering together COLLECTIVELY to worship Him and do His will. The Church is YouWhich means Being a Church without walls means we offer unconditional acceptance to people who are hopeless and with people we don’t get along with
Choices – The story of SamsonJudges 13 – 16Choice 1: What do we do with what has been given to us?Choice 2: Who do we spend our time with?Choice 3: How do we react?Choice 4: Who do we share with?Choice 5: How do we respond when confronted with sin?“Great choices lead to great character”James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
Sparks shooting everywhere with the potential to light other fires. Our church has sent people out to be instrumental in other churches.Zechariah 2 v 4 - “A city without walls” “God will be our wall of fire”Hebrews 12 v 28-29 - “A kingdom that cannot be shaken”Discipline is critical in your life. You are what you repeatedly do. Process: Thoughts – Actions – Habits – Character - Future (As a man thinks, so is he)Fire = Destruction ... but also cleansing. Fire is a process.A glimpse of what heaven is like: just look at a local church that works well. Family held together by the presence of God. Togetherness as believers is essential to staying “ignited”. A log on it’s own cannot continue burning. Jesus is the fire! We’re just the wood.Fire needs (to burn):Dry fuelOxygenHeat / spark1 Corinthians 3 - “Build with quality materials that won’t get burned up in the fire”God works all things to the good of those who love him and are called to his purpose. We have to trust that God is the consuming fire. Allow the love of Christ, through people, to invade your space.Story: Paul gets bitten by a snake, shakes it off in the fire and does not die. That testimony sparks a church plant right there.
Prophetic Word over us: We are an “aircraft carrier”Blessed are you when you believe that the Lord will fulfil his promises to you.God initiates. I come in line.We don’t walk ahead or behind of His promises, we walk IN His promises. But we do need to respond.“We see Foresight like an aircraft carrier. You will be a base for sending out and refuelling missions.” The aircraft carrier is on of the most offensive weapons that a military can command. (Crew of 6000 for 180 pilots)The purpose of an aircraft carrier is to be in a strategic place in the world close to the action sending out fighter planes to attack and/or protect. “The fruit of a prophet is not prophecies, but prophets, because they should be equipping the saints” We don’t send out our weakest... We send our strongest.Descriptions of what we do:We work with other churches. (NCMI)We resource each other with time, treasure and talents. We are not a solo act.We partner with other churches and make use of their strengths. We strengthen and encourage other churches.5 FOLD MINISTRY: we send and receive in and out of the church.Culture of generosityCulture of prayer and fastingAppoint elders in each churchGather the church and give feedback Bible References: Acts 11 v 19 (onwards) Luke 1 v 45 Eph. 4 v 11Salvation prayer at the end!!
“I pray because I can't help myself. I pray because I'm helpless. I pray because the need flows out of me all the time, waking and sleeping. It doesn't change God. It changes me.” ― C.S. Lewis- In Mat 6 - Jesus taught us how to pray.- If you don’t have a prayer life in secret, you won’t accomplish things in public. (v5)- Prayer is relational communication.- Prayer is not an information session, God knows all the details, He wants to know if you want to talk about it. (v8)Tips to lead to a “posture of prayer”1. Pray simply.2. Read your bible and pray verses.3. Make prayer active and multi-sensory.4. Make prayer an integral part of your life – a lifestyle.5. Pray expectantly.
God wants to INCREASE AND ENLARGE everyone of us. There are POSTURES that bring increase and enlargement. Is 9: 3 - You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest, as warriors rejoice when dividing the plunder.OUTLINE OF SERIES:1. Posture of worship – received by Grace.2. Posture of the Farmer – Received by labour (work for it).3. Posture of a warrior – Received through training.THE POSTURE OF WORSHIP (20 OCT)Worship is a posture of Surrender. Worship and Surrender set us free from the shackles that the enemy has put on us.Jehoshaphat won the war with praise and worship (2 Chronicles 20: 20-23) (You win the war inside to win the war outside.)Worship & surrender means “rightstanding” with God.Surrendering is not occasional moments but a lifestyle of worship. The more fully you relinquish yourself to Him, the more you will discover that He has your best interests at heart and that His will truly is “good, acceptable, and perfect” (see Romans 12:2). The whole idea of surrendering to someone else’s control runs counter to the prevailing mind set of our culture—we don’t want anyone telling us what to do—we want to be in control of our own lives! But paradoxically, we are never truly free until we have fully surrendered ourselves to the Word and will of God.
1. Posture of worship – received by Grace. *Previous Episode*2. Posture of the Farmer – Received by labour (work for it). *Previous Episode*3. Posture of a warrior – Received through training- We need to remember that we are in a WAR. We need to train for the WAR and always beprepared. There is a difference between being acceptable and exceptional. Most people just exist and do not rule.- We can also fight for one another by holding each other accountable and praying for one another.- We have to fight against all the wrong input into our lives. Either God is in control of your life or the devil is.- Praying in the spirit is a powerful weapon.- The word of God, the spirit of God and fasting are important weapons in spiritual warfare.- Internal victory = corporate victory.
