Artificial intelligence is not a ghost, a UFO, or a cryptid, but it may be one of the strangest and most unsettling mysteries of our time. On this episode of The Paranormal Podcast, Jim talks with A. G. G. Liu, co-author of The Handy Artificial Intelligence Answer Book, about the rise of AI and the big questions it raises about consciousness, control, creativity, and what it means to be human. Could machines ever become truly aware? Are we building tools we can manage, or something that may eventually outthink us? Jim and A. G. G. dig into the promises and dangers of AI, from medicine and scientific breakthroughs to job disruption, cybersecurity threats, AI-generated art, energy demands, and even artificial companions. It is a fascinating, sometimes unnerving conversation about a technology that is no longer science fiction. Whether you use AI every day, avoid it completely, or still are not sure what to make of it, this episode will give you plenty to think about. Episode 1: The Board Four college friends rent a cabin outside Boone, North Carolina, for what should have been an ordinary autumn weekend in the mountains. Instead, they discover something none of them expected: an old Ouija board left behind by a previous guest. No one brought it. No one believes in it. So they decide to ask it a question. The answer comes almost immediately. What begins as harmless curiosity quickly becomes something none of them can explain. A name appears across the board. A voice in the room begins to change. And one simple response—YES—sets in motion a weekend none of them would ever forget. In Part One of this three-part Campfire Files case, The Devil Within explores a story rooted in real places, documented history, and the unsettling possibility that some doors, once opened, don't easily close. Sometimes the most dangerous decision isn't summoning something. It's believing nothing will answer.

Tonight's story is a classic scary story. It's so unbelievable that I think a lot of people are going to have a hard time believing it, but when this happened in Hong Kong, this story got picked up by many major outlets and was covered extensive – so that suggests there's some real credibility to this story. But ultimately, it's up to you to decide what you actually believe. Be sure to WATCH this episode on my YouTube channel on Friday, June 26th! Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. A cemetery worker sees something he cannot explain, and what follows may be one of the most haunting Campfire stories we've heard in a long time. In this episode, a shadowy figure appears in a graveyard, but the story takes a powerful turn when that figure seems to lead a procession of the dead. It is eerie, emotional, and unforgettable. From there, the strangeness keeps coming: a classroom mystery that feels like a crack in reality, unexplained knocks in the night, haunted buildings, Ouija board unease, and encounters that leave ordinary people questioning what they saw. These are the stories that make Campfire special, the ones that start quietly, pull you in, and stay with you after the episode is over. Infused with the relaxing quality of nature and the sound-masking properties of white noise, listening to rain is an ideal way to switch off all the stressful things life brings and to de-stress. Some of our most popular sounds are rain on an umbrella, hailstorms, hard rain, soft rain, gentle rain, wind and rain, rain on a car.White noise helps babies and children to get a better and deeper night's sleep. This is because external sounds are masked by the noise. With white noise in the background, your child will not hear annoying cars driving by or dogs barking in bed. This allows your little one to sleep better. And it also saves you as a parent a lot of hours!Pink noise is more common in nature than you might expect. It can be compared to continuous rainfall or wind. In addition to white noise, pink noise is also increasing in popularity, especially in business environments. Because it can increase productivity, concentration and creativity.Brown noise can be compared to waves of the sea, a river current, strong winds or the sound of thunder during a storm. Like pink noise, brown noise is very similar to white noise. However, the frequencies have been lowered even further and a lot more concentrated. This gives it a rougher/coarse tone than pink noise. It sounds a bit deeper and a bit bass-like. The benefits of brown noise are the same as the other types of noise. It provides relaxation, increased focus and improved deep sleep.DISCLAIMER: Be aware that loud noises can damage your hearing. If you can't carry on a conversation without raising your voice while playing one of our spheres, the sound may be too loud for your ears. Do not place the speakers directly next to a baby's ears. Before Amityville, before the Warrens, and long before famous hauntings became part of pop culture, there was the Wizard Clip haunting. Dr. Stan Williams joins Jim to dig into this strange and deeply historic case from the 1790s, where a farmer named Adam Livingston found himself at the center of unexplained poltergeist activity, mysterious fabrics cut into crescent shapes, and a haunting that shook an entire community. Dr. Williams, author of the Wizard Clip Haunting trilogy, shares how a possible film project turned into years of research through courthouse records, church archives, old accounts, and one surprising discovery about a key priest in the story. It is part ghost story, part historical mystery, and part spiritual battle, centered on what just might be America's greatest haunting you've never heard of. Grace & Grit Podcast: Helping Women Everywhere Live Happier, Healthier and More Fit Lives

You don't fall off your health practices in one dramatic moment. You drift. Slowly, almost imperceptibly — one small compromise at a time, one skipped morning routine, one week where things got busy and you told yourself you'd get back to it. And then you look up and realize the fire has gone out. I introduce the Campfire Principle — the idea that it is infinitely easier to add a log to a dimming fire than to restart one that has gone cold. And I share the story of a client who broke the cycle of falling completely off track by learning something surprisingly simple: how to recognize her own earliest signals of drift. This episode will help you identify your personal misalignment cues — the specific, early signs that you are starting to drift — so you can do something about it while the fire is still burning. Eleven Hands at a Campfire - and What They Tell Us About the RV Market

The RV industry is chasing the wrong generation. While manufacturers court 30-somethings with outdoor TVs and influencer campaigns, the buyers who are actually writing checks right now look nothing like the people in the ads.Last week I sat around a campfire in Hocking Hills, Ohio with 88 members of our RVCommunity. I asked how many had bought a new RV in the past year. Eleven hands went up. A 12th would have, but he was out on a six-mile hike. He was turning 70.That tells you everything the sales charts do not.In this episode we dig into who is really driving the RV market right now, what experienced RVers actually want that manufacturers keep missing, the quiet but alarming shift happening in our national parks, and a dramatic rescue on the Appalachian Trail that is a reminder of exactly why preparation matters out there.Read the companion blog post on RVing in the second half of life at RVLifestyle.com - link below. Here is the complete episode, start to finish.THE RV PODCAST - MONDAY NEWS EDITION Episode Air Date: Monday, June 23, 2026 - 6:00 AM Approx. Running Time: 25 Minutes Host: Mike WendlandTHE LAST GENERATION THAT KNOWS HOW TO TRAVEL ...and why the RV industry keeps ignoring themOPENLast week I was sitting around a campfire in Hocking Hills, Ohio, with about 50 members of our RVCommunity.com.I asked a simple question: how many of you have bought a brand new RV in the last year?Eleven hands went up. A 12th would have, but he was out on a six-mile sunset hike - and he was turning 70 that summer. This was happening while the RV industry is posting some of the worst wholesale shipment numbers in over a decade.Which raises a question the people running this industry ought to be asking themselves: who exactly are they building RVs for?Because I can tell you who is actually buying them. And they look nothing like the people in the ads.OPENINGGood morning and welcome to the RV Podcast Monday News Edition. I'm Mike Wendland.Eighteen Emmy Awards. Thirty-plus years covering everything from wars to the White House to consumer affairs. And for the past 15 years, living the RV lifestyle myself with my wife Jennifer in every type of rig you can imagine, coast to coast, all 48 contiguous states.Today's show is a little different. Instead of leading with a breaking story, I want to start with something I witnessed firsthand that I believe tells you more about the real state of the RV market than any press release you will read this year. And if you want to go deeper after you listen, I have been writing about this topic at RVLifestyle.com for the past several weeks. We have been exploring what it means to RV in the second half of life - the freedom, the community, the mindset, and yes, the ways the industry keeps getting it wrong. There is a link in the show notes. I think you will recognize yourself in it.Here is what is happening on the road. And here is what the industry is getting wrong. Let's get into it.LEAD STORY: THE LAST GENERATION THAT KNOWS HOW TO TRAVELThe RV industry is having a rough year. A really rough year. And the numbers tell the story fast, so let me give them to you and move on, because the real story is not the numbers. The real story is who is still out there buying and camping while those numbers grind downward.Wholesale shipments are down more than 13 percent through the first four months of 2026. Retail sales off 14 to 15 percent from last year. The industry's own forecast, just revised downward again this month, now projects this as one of the worst years for new RV sales in over a decade. So who is still buying? Here is what I can tell you from 15 years in this world and from what I saw last week in Hocking Hills. The people who are still writing checks for new RVs, right now, in the worst market in a decade, are the people the industry seems most determined to pretend do not exist.Baby Boomers. Older Gen Xers. People who grew up reading paper maps. Making reservations by phone. Talking to strangers when they got lost. Fixing things with their hands. Navigating real uncertainty with nothing but experience and nerve.According to industry research, Americans 50 and older remain the primary customer segment for RVs. Many are retirees fulfilling long-held travel dreams, and that population is still growing as the tail end of the baby boom ages into retirement. These are people with home equity, disposable income, and something even more valuable: the time and the confidence to actually use what they buy.And yet when you look at the ads. When you watch the Go RVing campaigns. When you walk the floor of any major RV show and look at the marketing materials stacked at the booths. You see toned and trendy 30-year-olds doing yoga on the roof of a Class B. You see influencers with ring lights and perfect hair. What you do not see is the 68-year-old retired engineer who just dropped $95,000 on a new fifth wheel and is headed to Alaska. That is a real blind spot. And I think it is costing the industry real money. Here is what I saw at our Hocking Hills rally. Eighty-eight people, ranging from their 50s into their 80s. Riding bikes and e-bikes and scooters. Hiking up and down some of the most spectacular terrain in the Midwest. One of our members, a retired RV technician, got under a fellow member's trailer and repacked the wheel bearings on the spot. Another couple spent an afternoon giving scooter lessons to anyone who wanted to learn.Nobody was stuck. Nobody was panicking. When something broke, someone fixed it. When someone needed help, someone helped them. These are people who grew up problem-solving before there was an app for it. And they brought every one of those skills out here.I asked how many had bought a new RV in the past year. Eleven hands went up. Twelve if you count the man who was out on a six-mile hike at 70 years old. This is happening while the industry chases 33-year-olds with solar panels and TikTok aesthetics.I am not saying younger buyers are not important. They are the future and we need them. But the marketing case being made inside RV boardrooms right now, that the 50-plus buyer is yesterday's news, is demonstrably wrong. And in a market this soft, you cannot afford to ignore your most reliable customer.I wrote about this at length over at RVLifestyle.com. It is part of an ongoing series we have been running on RVing in the second half of life. The link is in the show notes. If today's lead story speaks to you, that post will too.STORY 2: WHO IS ACTUALLY DRIVING THE MARKETThe demographic picture of who owns and buys RVs is more complicated than the ads suggest, and it is worth understanding. The median age of RV owners has come down in recent years. Younger buyers were absolutely part of the pandemic surge. Millennials and Gen Z now represent roughly 22 percent of RV owners - the same share as Baby Boomers - which tells you something about how quickly the demographics shifted during COVID.But here is what the industry sometimes misses in that data. Younger buyers came in during a period of historically low interest rates, flush pandemic savings, and work-from-home flexibility. Those conditions no longer exist. The buyers who are proving most resilient in this market are the ones who are not dependent on 7 percent financing to make the purchase work.Industry analyst Earl Hunter Jr., founder of The Unity Folks, put it bluntly in a recent trade publication outlook piece. He said the biggest trend in the RV industry right now is, simply, lack of growth. And that the industry has not figured out why emerging demographics and nontraditional consumers have little to no interest in the RV lifestyle. That is a real problem worth solving. But while the industry works on reaching new audiences, there is a generation of experienced, well-capitalized, deeply motivated buyers out on the road right now who built this market and are still carrying it. They deserve a little more respect than a supporting role in someone else's marketing story.STORY 3: WHAT EXPERIENCED RVers ACTUALLY WANT - AND WHAT MANUFACTURERS KEEP MISSINGI want to tell you one more thing from Hocking Hills, because I think it reveals something important about the disconnect between what the industry is building and what experienced RVers actually need.During our campfire conversation, I asked people what features they most use in their current rigs. What do they love. What they would change.Nobody mentioned outdoor TVs. Not one person. This is notable because outdoor entertainment has been one of the most aggressively marketed RV features of the last several years. Manufacturers have been loading up rigs with outdoor TVs, outdoor kitchens, outdoor speakers. The assumption is that RVers want to recreate the suburban living room experience outside. Our members were out hiking six miles. They were packed into a campfire circle talking to each other. They were fixing each other's trailers. The last thing they wanted was a television. What did they talk about wanting? Better towing stability. Improved service networks. Simpler systems that do not require a software update to turn on the hot water. Quality that lasts. And dealers who actually know the products they are selling. These are people with decades of RV miles behind them. They know exactly what they need and exactly what they do not. When you have that kind of experience, you stop being impressed by features and start being impressed by reliability. The industry could learn a lot by listening more carefully to the people who have been doing this the longest....

Two hundred episodes. Five years. Hundreds of conversations with ordinary people who said yes to something extraordinary. For this milestone episode, there is no guest. It is just Scott, a cup of coffee, and a long overdue conversation about where Inspire Campfire started, what it has become, and the patterns that keep showing up across 200 hero's journeys.Scott shares the origin story of the podcast, beginning with a daddy-daughter camping trip, a feeling he could not shake, and a moment in the Minnesota Boundary Waters where two weeks passed without a single thought about meaning or purpose. That absence, it turned out, was the answer. He reads the introduction from his newly self-published book, Campfire Within: Three Simple Steps for Reigniting Your Inner Fire, and reflects on what five years of listening to adventure stories has done to him. The conversations changed him. The guests pushed him. And somewhere along the way, a real estate broker from Charlotte who liked to go camping found himself trekking to Mount Everest Base Camp.In this episode, Scott walks through the patterns he has noticed across 200 episodes: why people choose difficulty on purpose, what nature actually does for us when we let it, how shared struggle creates bonds that last a lifetime, and why ordinary people are the ones who end up with the most extraordinary stories. He also gets honest about what has been hard, what he wants more of, and what he is ready to let go of.This one is for the listeners. For the guests. For everyone who has ever felt a pull toward something and wondered whether to answer it.Get the book: https://www.inspirecampfire.com/book

Who is David?1 Samuel 16:11–13Then Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all your sons here?” And he said, “There remains yet the youngest, but behold, he is keeping the sheep.” And Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and get him, for we will not sit down till he comes here.” 12 And he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy and had beautiful eyes and was handsome. And the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him, for this is he.” 13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward. And Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.1 Samuel 17:34–37; 45–47But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep sheep for his father. And when there came a lion, or a bear, and took a lamb from the flock, 35 I went after him and struck him and delivered it out of his mouth. And if he arose against me, I caught him by his beard and struck him and killed him. 36 Your servant has struck down both lions and bears, and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be like one of them, for he has defied the armies of the living God.” 37 And David said, “The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!”Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and cut off your head. And I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, 47 and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear. For the battle is the Lord's, and he will give you into our hand.”Foundational Scripture for the SeriesHebrews 12:1 (ESV)Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.[IF David…] sat down at the campfire, I think he would say something like this:“The battles you win in private prepare you for the battles you'll win in public.”David speaks to everyone who has ever felt overlooked, underestimated, or hidden in preparation while waiting on God's timing. Our big idea today is this: Private faithfulness prepares you for public victory. Some of you are in a season where it feels like nobody sees your obedience, nobody notices your growth, nobody understands your process, and nobody realizes what God is doing in you.But David's life reminds us that what you defeat in private matters.Let's walk through David's story.POINT 1: DAVID WAS FAITHFUL BEFORE HE WAS VISIBLE1 Samuel 16:11–13Then Samuel said to Jesse, ‘Are all your sons here?' And he said, ‘There remains yet the youngest, but behold, he is keeping the sheep.' … Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him…David is not even brought into the room at first. His stronger-looking brothers are there; The more obvious choices; The ones who fit people's expectations. And David is out in the field… just being faithful. Before the crown, there was the field. Before the giant, there was the sheep. Before public recognition, there was hidden obedience.Never forget that God sees what people overlook. This is important because our culture often trains us to value visibility over faithfulness. We think if people do not see it, it does not count. If it is not public, it is not powerful. If it is not noticed, it is not important. But the kingdom of God does not work like that… In God's economy, hidden faithfulness still matters.God often prepares people in hidden places. Some of you need to hear this today:Just because your season is hidden does not mean your season is wasted. If you are serving where nobody notices, keep serving. If you are praying where nobody sees, keep praying. If you are growing in private, keep growing. If you are faithful in the field, keep being faithful.Because God does not need a spotlight to do deep work in a life… God was developing David.Luke 16:10 — “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much.”Psalm 78:70–72 says God chose David from tending sheep and brought him to shepherd His people.Big Truth: Your hidden season is God's preparation season.POINT 2: THE BATTLES NOBODY SEES SHAPE THE VICTORIES EVERYBODY NOTICESWhen David steps up to face Goliath, he does not begin by talking about strategy. He begins by talking about private battles.1 Samuel 17:34–37Your servant used to keep sheep for his father. And when there came a lion, or a bear… I went after him… The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.David is standing in front of a giant, but his confidence is based on history… And that history was built in private.Nobody was there when he fought the lion.Nobody was there when he fought the bear.Nobody was writing songs about him yet.Nobody was posting about him.Nobody was validating him publicly. But those battles mattered… [BECAUSE...] What you overcome in private builds confidence in God. Some of the most important battles in your life are the private ones:The battle against compromise; against lust. The battle against pride; against fear. The battle against bitterness; against laziness. The battle against discouragement; The battle to stay faithful in prayer. The battle to keep your thought life clean; The battle to keep your character intact.[BECAUSE...] if you ignore private battles, public pressure will expose what private compromise has been building. But if you let God help you defeat things in private, you are developing spiritual strength that will matter later.David did not suddenly become courageous on the battlefield. He had already learned to trust God in unseen places.[SOME OF US WANT…] Goliath-level breakthrough without lion-and-bear-level faithfulness.God often uses small, private victories to build us for larger public ones.Song of Solomon 2:15 speaks of the little foxes that spoil the vines.1 Corinthians 10:13 reminds us that God provides a way of escape in temptation.Big Truth: NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE OF YOUR PRIVATE BATTLES.POINT 3: CONFIDENCE IN GOD IS BUILT, NOT BORROWED1 Samuel 17:45–47Then David said to the Philistine, ‘You come to me with a sword and with a spear… but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts…'David is not repeating a slogan he barely believes. He is not imitating somebody else's confidence. He is not borrowing spiritual language to sound impressive.David's confidence is built on what he knows of God personally.Confidence in God is built, not borrowed… Personal history with God produces real confidence. [THAT IS WHY IT IS SO KEY THAT…] David refused Saul's armor.Because borrowed strength does not work in battles that require personal faith. There are some battles where other people's testimonies can encourage you, but they cannot replace your own history with God.Your pastor's faith can inspire you.Your parents' faith can influence you.Your spouse's faith can encourage you.Our church's faith can strengthen you.But there comes a point when you must know God for yourself!Because David knew what God had done before, he had confidence for what God could do now. That is how real faith grows… by walking with God over time until your trust is rooted in personal experience of His faithfulness.Psalm 27:1 — “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?”2 Timothy 1:12 — “I know whom I have believed…”Big Truth: REAL CONFIDENCE GROWS OUT OF REAL HISTORY WITH GOD.WAYS TO LIVE DAVID'S LIFE LESSON1. BE FAITHFUL IN HIDDEN PLACESDo not wait for a bigger moment to become serious about obedience… Because hidden faithfulness still matters to God. 2. TAKE PRIVATE BATTLES SERIOUSLYDon't tell yourself, “It's just a small issue.”Don't normalize the things God wants to deliver you from.Don't ignore battles in your heart because they are not yet public.Take private battles seriously… Because what you tolerate in secret can weaken you in public.[AND…] what you defeat in secret can strengthen you for public assignment.3. BUILD YOUR CONFIDENCE THROUGH PERSONAL HISTORY WITH GODDo not try to live off borrowed oil.Get in the Word; Pray consistently; Obey in small things; Worship in private… and remember what God has already done.Build your confidence through personal history with God. 4. DON'T HATE SEASONS OF PREPARATIONThe hidden season is not flashy, but it is fruitful. The preparation season may not be visible, but it is valuable.Don't hate seasons of preparation… Because what feels slow may actually be strategic.CLOSINGDavid's life reminds us that the things we do in private matter more than we often realize.[BECAUSE DAVID WOULD TELL YOU…] “It was out in the field is where God taught me to trust Him.”[DAVID WOULD TELL YOU…] “The lion and the bear were not distractions; they were preparation.”[DAVID WOULD TELL YOU…] “The hidden place was not punishment; it was strategic training.”[DAVID WOULD TELL YOU…] “What I defeated in private mattered when the giant showed up in public.”And that is the word of the Lord today: The battles you win in private prepares you for the battles you'll win in public… because what you defeat in private matters.Response / Prayer MomentMaybe today your prayer sounds like this:“Lord, help me stay faithful in hidden places.”“Lord, give me victory in private battles.”“Lord, build my confidence through personal history with You.”“Lord, help me value preparation more than visibility.”

Infused with the relaxing quality of nature and the sound-masking properties of white noise, listening to running water is an ideal way to turn off all the stressful things life brings, and to de-stress. Some of our most popular sounds include a river, flowing creek, babbling brook, gentle waves on a lake, and a bamboo fountain. Rain also creates a natural white noise. It sounds a bit deeper and a bit bass-like. The benefits of brown noise are the same as the other types of noise. It provides relaxation, increased focus and improved deep sleep.DISCLAIMER: Be aware that loud noises can damage your hearing. The episode kicks off with Luke sharing a story about a summer pear tree in his front yard in Northeast Texas. The tree drops a massive amount of fruit, which squirrels nibble on during the day. By nightfall—around 9:30 PM—a sounder of about ten wild hogs arrives like clockwork to eat the fallen pears. Luke reveals he has been tracking them with a thermal monocular and plans to hunt them from his front porch (about 45 yards away) using his new Ten-Point crossbow. Larry and Luke dive into the fascinating intelligence and sensory capabilities of wild hogs. Larry notes that research shows hogs have an extraordinary sense of smell (capable of detecting truffles six feet underground in Europe) and an incredible multi-generational memory that maps out seasonal feeding patterns year after year. The duo reminisces about their shared history hunting hogs and their co-authored book, Poor Man's Grizzly. They look back at the timeline of the wild hog population in Texas: The 1970s: Hogs were sparse and considered a highly prized, rare trophy in places like South Texas. The 1980s: The population boomed. Luke and Larry candidly admit that back then, it was common—and legal—for hunters to trap and relocate wild hogs all over the state to create hunting opportunities, inadvertently fueling the massive population explosion seen today. Luke's Roots: Luke shares that his fascination with hogs started at age eight when he saved up pecan-picking money to buy his first two domestic pigs for $6 each. Luke recants his latest fishing adventures with his colleague Jeff Rice from A Sportsman's Life TV Show which can be found on Carbon TV and YouTube. They recently fished the Red River below the Eisenhower Dam at Lake Texoma with airboat guide JC McCullah. Using heavy casts into 15-foot-deep washouts, they hammered channel and blue catfish, including a massive blue catfish weighing around 40 pounds. JC McCullah also uses his airboats to transport hunters to remote, untouched wilderness areas along the Red River on the Oklahoma side. Luke and Larry discuss plans to head up there this fall for an isolated deer hunt, utilizing a remote FEMA building JC has set up as a rustic camp. Larry celebrates his long-standing friendship with Luke, noting that he has been a regular guest on Luke's commercial radio show and podcast, Catfish Radio, for over 20 years. They close the episode by highlighting a few major upcoming events for outdoor enthusiasts: DSC Summer Show: Taking place July 23–26 at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas, featuring over 400 exhibitors and the DSC Foundation Gala on July 25th. An Evening at the DSC Office: Scheduled for September 17th, featuring wild game cooking and storytelling. Luke's Annual Rendezvous: Held every spring (typically the first Saturday in March) in Greenville, Texas. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Rock and roll has always had a shadow side, and Richard Syrett joins Jim to explore some of its strangest stories from his new book, Tales from the Rock and Roll Twilight Zone. From the roots of blues folklore and Robert Johnson's legendary crossroads tale to theories about the Beatles, “Paul is Dead,” and the eerie staying power of rock's greatest mysteries, Richard looks at why music history seems to attract so many strange rumors, unsettling coincidences, and unanswered questions. Jim and Richard also dig into the 27 Club, the tragic plane crash that changed Lynyrd Skynyrd forever, the mysteries surrounding Elvis Presley's final days, and the suspicious circumstances some have associated with the death of Rolling Stones founder Brian Jones. It is a wide-ranging conversation about fame, myth, tragedy, conspiracy, and the powerful hold these stories still have on music fans decades later. Some of our most popular sounds include a river, flowing creek, babbling brook, gentle waves on a lake, and a bamboo fountain. Rain also creates a natural white noise. Tonight, I have a great story to tell you. It reminds me of when I was a kid, I used to go camping with my family out in western Massachusetts – we'd sit around a campfire, and my parents would tell me and my sisters ghost stories. It was unclear how true the stories really were, but they were all terrifying. And this story that I'm going to share with you is from Japan, and it happened over 50 years ago. And over the last 50 years, it's been shared many times, and there are many versions of this story, so it's up to you to figure out how much you believe is really true here. But it's a genuinely frightening story. Also, according to some versions of this story, once you hear it, you only have three days left to live, unless you follow really specific instructions... which I'll give you at the very end.   Be sure to WATCH this episode on my YouTube channel on Friday, June 12th at 2:00 p.m. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. In the 1970s in Missoula, Montana, there was a brief epidemic of unsolved violent murders that shocked the small city down to its roots. A dark rumor spread quickly—the deaths must be the work of some sinister Satanic cult, secret rituals performed in the service of demonic powers. This was not the case. The murders were unconnected, the motives behind them having nothing to do with the big bad devil… except for one, in which the killer proudly declared his occult allegiance to anyone who asked. But that was just a cover for overpowering violent fantasies that this weak, strange man would never try too hard to resist. After this first murder, he'd kill again and again. Can astrology help us better understand love, attraction, compatibility, and the patterns we keep repeating in relationships? On this episode of The Paranormal Podcast, Jim talks with Canadian astrologer, and author Tracy Quinlan about her book Charting Love with Astrology. Tracy explains how the birth chart can offer insight into romance, marriage, friendship, sexuality, timing, and the deeper dynamics that shape the way we connect with others. This is a fun and thoughtful conversation that goes beyond the usual “what's your sign?” approach. Tracy discusses why astrology is more about tendencies than fixed fate, how opposites and so-called incompatible signs may actually work together, and what relationship houses can reveal about where love might show up in a person's life. We also touch on soul connections, relationship patterns, the role of Venus and Mars, and Tracy's fascinating work with sound.
