Ready to challenge everything you thought you knew about the spiritual realm? Curious about how ancient biblical truths apply to modern-day struggles and supernatural encounters? In this deep-dive episode of The Erik Cabral Show, Erik sits down with Eric Scovill, financial advisor and founder of Storehouse Wealth, for an unfiltered conversation that goes way off the typical format. They tackle tough questions about prayer, salvation, biblical giants, and why Jesus's definition of belief might be radically different from what we've been taught. This isn't your typical feel-good faith conversation—it's a raw exploration of biblical truth that might shake some foundations. What blocks us from hearing God clearly? We examine how our thought life becomes the primary battlefield where the enemy plants "poison pills" of deception wrapped in partial truths. The distinction becomes crystal clear: when God speaks, peace follows—even in urgency—while the enemy's voice brings anxiety and apprehension. Many believers struggle with divine communication because they've created a buffet-style approach to Scripture, embracing comfortable passages while disregarding challenging ones. This selective obedience severely limits spiritual hearing and stunts growth. Through powerful testimonies and biblical examples, we demonstrate how God speaks most clearly to those with humble, teachable hearts. The episode offers practical guidance for developing spiritual discernment, highlighting the crucial role of spiritual mentors and community. Like Samuel who needed Eli's guidance to recognize God's voice, we often require mature believers to help navigate our spiritual journey. This requires humility—something our individualistic culture often discourages.Perhaps most importantly, we reveal the circular relationship between hearing and obeying: God speaks to those willing to act on what they hear, creating a positive cycle that increases spiritual sensitivity over time. God is more interested in developing your character than changing your circumstances, speaking into today's challenges to prepare you for tomorrow's calling."Message Our Father's Heart a Question or Response"Support the showThank you so much for listening and sharing with others! Hearing God's Word is vital—but it's in the doing that transformation happens. James reminds us that those who act on what they've heard are like people who look in a mirror and remember who they are. Obedience is the path to blessing, not just knowledge. This message will encourage us to move beyond passive listening and step into active faith, living out God's truth in our daily lives.

Jonna Schuster aimed for picture-perfect faith. Until everything started to fall apart. Jonna's perfectionist tendencies left her drained and unhappy—she even started having health problems. When Jonna attended a silent retreat with Passionist Nuns in Kentucky, everything changed. While a blizzard raged outside the chapel, Jonna knelt alone inside. She felt the indescribable touch of God—like she was being held in His hand. Over time, Jonna learned to let go of her habits of self-sufficiency and people-pleasing. She experienced the newfound freedom of being her authentic self with God and others. Listen to Jonna in this series, “Women of Wisdom,” and be blessed with the kind of internal freedom that only comes from God. Drawing from examples throughout scripture—from Samuel learning to recognize God's voice through Eli's guidance, to Jesus himself setting the perfect example of listening before speaking—this message reveals why some hear God clearly while others strain to hear anything at all. The answer lies not in technique, but in heart posture. Those with "uncircumcised ears" (bound by fleshly desires and rebellion) cannot truly hear God's voice. Many believers approach prayer as a monologue rather than a dialogue, speaking their requests and immediately concluding without giving God space to respond. This impatient, one-sided communication reveals our flesh-driven nature and unwillingness to wait in God's presence. What's particularly challenging is how we often deceive ourselves with false security, believing our religious heritage, material blessings, or intellectual understanding of scripture means we're hearing God correctly. Yet the scripture reveals that "those whom the Lord hears are those who hear Him"—a paradoxical truth that points to the reciprocal nature of divine communication. The path forward requires humility and a willingness to be corrected. We must learn to value hearing over speaking, to seek understanding through obedience rather than demanding understanding first, and to pursue God with the passionate determination of the bride in Song of Solomon who refused to rest until she found her beloved. Are you approaching God like a lovesick bride desperate to hear His voice, or merely fulfilling religious obligation? The difference determines whether you'll truly hear what He's saying. Listen to this message and discover how to cultivate ears that truly hear."Message Our Father's Heart a Question or Response"Support the showThank you so much for listening and sharing with others! Do you ever feel like you're waiting on God to speak… but it's just quiet? What if He's already spoken — and He's waiting on you to move?In this episode, we dig into a powerful truth that can change your walk with God: obedience brings clarity. Pastor Jack continues our Pneuma series with the message "Hearing God". Following Jesus has everything to do with learning to hear and live by God's voice. Discernment- The gift and practice of attuning to God's voice in the middle of all the competing and counterfeit noise. "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me." John 10:27 Discernment is the spiritual practice of differentiating between the listening ear of my ego and my soul. —— If you want to support what God is doing through Cityline, click here: https://www.citylineonline.churchcenter.com/giving Want to learn more about Cityline and how to get involved? This is Week 3 of our series, By My Spirit.
We all ask the question at some point: What is God's will for me? In this week's message, we walk with Elijah from the mountaintop of fire to the quiet of the cave and listen for the whisper of God. While we often search for big signs, emotional highs, or opened doors, Scripture shows us that God's voice often comes in stillness - and His will begins not with direction, but with relationship. Join us as we explore 1 Kings 18–19, reflect on how we try to hear God, and hear the good news that even when we've filled our lives with noise or run the other way, Jesus still calls us back - not to shame us, but to bring us life. Real life. Abundant life. 1 Kings 19:9b–21 Galatians 5:1, 13–25 Luke 9:51–62

* Why Not Believe Like Jesus? * Do we spend more time believing in Jesus than we do believing like him? * If so, what might that be costing us? What do we normally substitute for Direct, Responsive Obedience to what we see Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit saying and doing? * Often, we substitute a “belief” measured by agreement over ideas about… 1. Principles that reflect who or what we think God is (or is doing). 2. Things God is specifically recorded in scripture as saying or doing. 3. Things people-perhaps with authority or influence-say about God. 4. What you personally hear God say or see Him do or doing. 5. What you see, hear of, sense, or even imagine Him doing in and through the people in your family, life, and circle. 6. Are there other influences? The warfare is after your ear. If the enemy can cut your ear off in the spirit, he cut you off from hearing what God wants to do.Bishop Victor Powell leads us through a powerful exploration of Matthew 26, focusing on the dramatic moment when Peter cuts off the ear of the high priest's servant. This isn't just a story of impulse and violence—it's full of profound symbolism about transition, obedience, and the voices that shape our spiritual journey.Bishop Powell unpacks how, as Jesus prepares his disciples for a major shift—the passing from the old order to the new—our ability to truly “hear” becomes more important than ever. Send us a textHave you ever wondered where and how you hear God most clearly? In this episode of Small Beginnings with Sara, we're leaning into what it really means to hear God's voice—and to respond with obedience. Using the Hebrew word shama, which means “to hear and obey,” we'll explore how faith is birthed when our hearts respond to the voice of the Anointed One (Romans 10:17).Sara shares personal reflections on how God made each of us uniquely to connect with Him—and how your “secret place” may look different from someone else's. Whether it's quiet moments by still waters or unexpected whispers in the chaos, God is always speaking. The real question is: Will we obey when we hear Him?Anchor Scriptures:
