Listen to today's podcast... Holidays provide opportunity for celebration, and they often bring about family tension. By determining your goals for the holidays and by staying in control of your reactions, you can help to ward off excessive stress and have a stress-free family gathering – whatever that may look like this year. Take One Action Today To Build Your #Resiliency!      So here are today's Tips For Building Resiliency and Celebrating Stress-Free Family Gatherings Week: The first and most important step to a less stressful family gathering is to determine who pushes your buttons. Then understand what the person gets from being so difficult. Some want to feel more in control over what is happening around them. Some want to feel important and listened to, and some want to avoid outright conflict, but will act out their annoyance or disagreement through other negative behaviours. By understanding what people expect to gain from using undesirable behaviours, we are in a much better position to deflect and defeat the difficult behaviour and move the person towards more acceptable ways of responding. Our job is to help these family members feel more in control, more listened to and more important. My second tip is to avoid ‘holiday perfectionism'. Thinking, saying, or planning for the best holiday ever can lead to certain disappointment. Be okay with disorganization, conflict, and family chaos. Going with the flow will help to reduce your stress. Finally, stop and be in the moment. When you start to feel the tension rising, take a moment to notice the wondrous sights, sounds, and smells around. Changing focus helps to reduce your stress level. Wishing you a meaningful, joyful, and Stress-Free Family Gathering. Remember, If you like today's wellness tips, let me know. Holiday cheer gets all the headlines, but the real story often includes tension, old patterns, and big expectations. We get honest about the pressure to make everything magical and offer a simple, usable plan to stay grounded when emotions spike. Our five-step PEACE framework—Pause, Examine, Adjust, Choose, Exit or Engage—turns reactive moments into chances for clarity and connection. We start with the body: how a brief pause settles the nervous system and opens space for choice. Then we name what's real. Beyond happy, sad, and mad, the holidays can stir guilt, resentment, grief, envy, and fatigue. By labeling emotions accurately, we stop fighting ghosts and address the true issue. From there, we examine the stories we carry about tradition, timing, and roles. If your family's script was written decades ago, it might be time for an edit that honors meaning without clinging to methods that no longer fit.Next, we practice choosing centered responses that align words, tone, and body language. That might look like a gentle boundary, a topic shift, a curious question, or purposeful silence. Finally, we decide when to exit to protect calm or engage to build trust—both valid when chosen with intention. Along the way, we share prompts to identify triggers, plan responses, and give yourself grace when you slip. You can't control every dynamic, but you can control how you show up, and that choice often shifts the entire room.If you're ready to trade perfection for presence and turn conflict into clarity, this conversation is your guide. Listen, pick one tool to try at your next gathering, and notice what changes. If it helps, share the episode with someone who needs a little more peace this season, and subscribe or leave a review so we can bring more calm, practical tools to your feed.#HolidayStress #FamilyDynamics #HolidayGatherings #EmotionalIntelligence #EmotionalAgility #EmotionalRegulation #NervousSystemRegulation #RespondNotReact #PauseAndChoose #StayGrounded #InnerCalm #ChoosePeace #BoundariesWithCompassion #HealthyRelationships #PresenceOverPerfection #ConnectionOverConflict #StressManagementTools #CalmUnderPressure #SelfAwareness #ConsciousChoices #LeadYourself #GraceUnderPressure #ClarityAndConnection #PEACEFrameworkQuestions? Surviving Family Gatherings Without Becoming the Family Therapist: Emotional Boundaries for the Holidays Curt Widhalm and Katie Vernoy explore how therapists can navigate family gatherings without slipping into the role of “family therapist.” They discuss emotional boundaries, guilt, codependency, and the importance of authenticity during the holiday season. Learn how to recognize old family patterns, manage emotional triggers, and show up as a whole human (not just a clinician) when family dynamics get complicated. Key Takeaways for Therapists: Therapists often revert to caretaker or mediator roles during family gatherings. Emotional boundaries matter as much as physical ones: protect your energy. “JADE” doesn't go to Thanksgiving: Don't Justify, Argue, Defend, or Explain. It's okay to have emotions and step away from unproductive conversations. Clarify your role (family member, not therapist) and engage authentically. We're talking… Easter feasts, the long-awaited Ranganathan family visit to the Davis's new home, the most beautiful cat ever, a very competitive FIFA tournament, Romesh vs the West Sussex County Council schools board (and the Netflix film version of that heroic story), corduroy vibes, wearing skinny jeans, ape-like physiques and the final week before Rom runs the London Marathon. Plus, Tom's idea for a Bible revamp and an email about a very troublesome ingrowing hair. For questions or comments, please email us at wolfowlpod@gmail.com - we'd love to hear from you. We are back for part 2 with Real Housewives of New Jersey icon, Teresa Giudice and she gets real about family drama, celebrity scandals, reality TV, and her cast fashion hits and misses. It's a bare all from Wendy Williams shocking financial situation to another unexpected piece of her Armenian Coffee Cup Grounds Reading, packed with tea, laughter, and unfiltered honesty and coffee grounds revelations..  We begin with our Haute Topics & Celebrity Gossip regarding Wendy Williams Broke as reports claim she has only $15 left. We discuss how this could happen to a talk show legend and whether dementia played a role in her losing control of her finances.  Another Haute Topic is Heidi Montag & Spencer Pratt's GoFundMe Backlash – After losing their home in a fire, the reality TV couple asked fans for donations. Is that fair or tone-deaf? Teresa shares her thoughts on celebrity privilege and public perception.  Teresa's Personal Reflections include candidly speaking about her ongoing feud with her brother Joe Gorga, claiming he chose Margaret Josephs over his own sister. Losing Her Parents – She recalls losing her mother shortly after coming home from prison and how it marked the end of her marriage. Three years later, she lost her father and it devestated her. She bares her soul about Reality TV & Betrayal reflecting on falling out with cousins Kathy & Rosie and how RHONJ permanently fractured all her family relationships and shares how she teaches her daughters to always stick with family unlike her own experiences. Blood is Thicker than Water. Our Runway Rundown is all about her RHONJ Cast and it's no holding back as we critique the good, the bad and the UGLY! Who was cheap and uninspiring? Which Jersey Girl wore real jewels and who wore the fakes? Who was elegant and classy and made bold statements? Who had a fabric disaster and who looked like they shopped in LA's infamous Santee Alley? Who was Teresa referring to when she used the words "prom misses"? We delve into Reality TV Reboots The trio discussing Vanderpump Rules and RHONY revamps and agree that nothing beats the OGs. What is Teresa's opinion of The Valley? Teresa reveals some  Behind-the-Scenes Bravo Secrets and spills on last-minute wardrobe stress, stylist nightmares, and why casting decisions cause major drama.  We end part two with another piece of Teresa's Armenian Coffee Cup Grounds Reading and a Shocking Prediction with an upcoming family gathering where shocking news will be revealed. The advice? Stay quiet and observe—but can Teresa resist speaking her mind? Who cheated on her and is she ready to head back to those table flipping moments? Last but, not least...Will Teresa return to RHONJ? Will Bravo make the 'right' casting choices?  And, yes we have a PART 3 with Teresa Giudice releasing soon!
