That's right! ArtByTesslyn (interviewed in episode 10) is back and we're talking Harley Quinn, the underappreciated adult animated series! Chloe does a really bad Bane impression. We spend lots of time talking about Kite Man and a song about poop. Tesslyn wows us with an impressive amount of knowledge of comics history. Also we get down to discussing Harley and Ivy, eventually. www.inmediales.com Twitter: @inmediales Instagram: @inmediales Reddit: www.reddit.com/r/inmediales Music by tatianagladetsk Find out more at http://inmediales.com

WORST. COMIC. PODCAST. EVER!

On this week's episode of the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!, we are taking a look at representation in comics with the celebration of Pride Month. Representation is important, and there were times when comics got it right, and more times when comics got it wrong. Whether is Northstar, Harley & Ivy, or any other characters past or present, we have a free-form conversation talking about the characters that so many people identify with. And while we did not address this on the show, let's put this back out as a reminder as we slowly return to conventions across the country. Whether we are set us as the podcast or volunteering for the Hero Initiative, our booths are always a safe space for anyone. If you see us on the show floor and need assistance, just grab us and we will do what we can. We are here for you. Speaking of conventions looks like Cullen will be the first one returning to a full con next weekend with the Washington State Summer Con. They have a great list of modern and veteran comic creators, and they will all get the full Stapleton experience at the show in mid-June. (On the off-chance that Al Milgrom happens to be reading this post, let us go ahead and apologize now for anything Cullen may say or do during his fanboy meeting with you in ten days.) Of course, we do have to talk about comics, especially with our Pick 3 choices sponsored by Clint's Comics. We have three great books chosen for this week, including John's pick which ties back in with this week's theme. We have a return of our trivia question, but we are not giving away just one prize. Try FOUR! Seriously, answer early and get the first pick of the loot.  Jerry got to watch some of the new Sweet Tooth series on Netflix - check it out NOW if you haven't already. Especially if Disney + crashes with the launch of Loki today.  We would love to hear your comments on the show. Let us know what you've been reading or watching this week. Contact us on our website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or email. We want to hear from you! As always, we are the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! and we hope you enjoy the show. The Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! is proudly sponsored by Clint's Comics. Clint's is located at 3941 Main in Kansas City, Missouri, and is open Monday through Saturday. Whether it is new comics, trade paperbacks, action figures, statues, posters, or T-shirts, the friendly and knowledgeable staff can help you find whatever it is that you need. You should also know that Clint's Comics has the most extensive collection of back issues in the metro area. If you need to find a particular book to finish the run of a title, head on down to Clint's or check out their website at clintscomics.com. Tell them that the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! sent you.

Is this the end of Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy? It's certainly our final conversation discussing the two love birds for a bit, and we're sad to see them go as we've fallen hard for them over these last four episodes. Have no fear though, we go out with a bang, diving deep into the controversial comics that dared to put #HarlIvy on the backburner. The 2019/2020 mini-series, written by Jody Houser and illustrated by Adriana Melo, wreaks havoc with our emotions. One minute, we've never been happier with this ship, and the next, we're screaming in frustration and anger. That's some damn good comic book storytelling. Thankfully, we have Lindsay King-Miller's "Ask A Queer Chick" to aid in our discussion as well as the emotional turmoil sparked by this particular mini-series. As far as couple journeys go, the trip from "Batman: The Animated Series" to these six issues was absolutely wild, and we're excited to see what's on the horizon for Harley & Ivy, and yeah, there is still a future there, folks. Issues covered in this episode: "Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy" No. 1 - 6, written by Jody Houser, penciled by Adriana Melo, inked by Mark Morales and Wade Von Grawbadger, lettered by Gabriela Downie, and colored by Hi-Fi. Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy hit the road, ditching Gotham for the bright lights and tight spandex of Metropolis. The girls are on the hunt for Superman but have to settle for Jimmy Olsen and Bizarro. What begins as a joyous coupling slowly drives a wedge into #HarlIvy. Can they survive an apartment's lack of sunlight and the small bother of a super-villain kidnapping? Tune in as we root for our favorite Gotham girl gang, digging into the early days of Harley Quinn's solo career. Also, we ditch our previous love gurus Ben Schwartz and Lauren Moses for relationship columnist Lindsay King-Miller and her advice book "Ask a Queer Chick: A Guide to Sex, Love, and Life for Girls Who Dig Girls." As we discover this week, there's plenty of hope for Harley & Ivy as they're presented in the "Welcome to Metropolis" story arc. Issues covered in this episode: "Harley Quinn" No. 13 - 19, written by Karl Kesel and primarily illustrated by Terry Dodson and Rachel Dodson, but featuring fill-in art by Pete Woods, Phil Noto, Craig Rousseau, with guest-inks by Mark Lipka, Dan Davis, and Kesel himself. Colors provided by Alex Sinclair and Peter Pantazis, and letters by Ken Lopez and Kurt Hathaway. Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy finally come to the Comic Book Couple Counseling Podcast! We kick off our exploration of this villainous Gotham City duo by digging into their earliest adventures, as seen in "Batman: Harley & Ivy" spearheaded by the Animated Series collaborators Bruce Timm and Paul Dini. While they are not technically lovers (yet), we do witness an intense bond between the two, which separates them from the rest of the rogues that plague Bruce Wayne's vigilante lifestyle. Being in a couple means being partners in crime, and not acting like an A-hole. To help us understand the complicated bond between Harley & Ivy, we're using "Things You Should Already Know About Dating, You F*cking Idiot" by Ben Schwartz & Laura Moses. Sometimes commons sense isn't so common. Issues covered in this episode: "Batman: Harley & Ivy" No 1-3 written by Dini, illustrated by Timm, inked by Shane Glines, colored by Lee Loughridge, and lettered by Tom Orzechowski. The Arkham Sessions: Psychology of Batman & More

It's another amazing Harley-centric episode! But, as always, it comes with its own controversy surrounding Harley's unhealthy relationship with the Joker. Our analysis focuses not just on the cycle of violence in their relationship, previously mentioned in "Harley & Ivy," but also Harley's costume as a big part of her identity, Batman's own ability to to think like the Joker, and more! Plus, we experiment with live questions via Periscope!
