Merry Chrismahanukawanzakah and whatever else you might celebrate! We're bringing you a special Christmas episode of Two Tired Therapists! Getting in the festive, yet still tired, spirit, Jackie and Kyle are in agreement on the tiredness of Mariah Carey's dumb Christmas song and eggnog. On this not so silent night, Jackie and Kyle (with the help of Josh) discuss possible diagnoses of beloved Christmas characters such as the Grinch, Scrooge, and Jack Skellington. We add to the long list of movies Jackie hasn't seen and “very famous actors” whose names she can't recall. The episode quickly devolves to Jackie and Kyle bickering about who has seen better movies before they jingle all the way to a Christmas edition of Fetch or Flop. We here at Two Tired Therapists hope you have a wonderful holiday, happy new year, and above all, stay tired and petty. See you in 2023! “You know he's puttin' a lil' sum'n sum'n in that milk.” -Kyle

Today's guest is Asta, an amazingly strong member of our Twitch community. Asta is someone who suffers with the little know condition Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED). IED basically means that whereas for most of us we feel anger growing gradually and have opportunities to diffuse or walk away, those with IED can go from calm to a full rage in an instant, which can be traumatic for both those around and of course the individual who has the condition too. Asta shares their story here of how this condition was first noticed in them, how it was dealt with when they were younger and how now as an adult in their 40s they are finally finding answers on how to live a better life with it, rather tahn simply endure it.

Intermittent Explosive Disorder. That's what some therapists call it. We read of soldiers being injured or worse by IEDs overseas. Some of us have been taken out by a different kind of IED over here.Someone wise once said, “Speak when you're angry, and you'll make the best speech you'll ever regret.” I think a lot of us have been there. Acting in anger can often lead to more regret. Over and over in Scripture, we find the subject of anger being brought up. In fact, it's a theme in Jesus' teaching to His disciples and Paul's writings to believers. This weekend in our “After-Life” series, we'll consider how to handle anger before it handles us. It's actually the fruit of something else. To deal with it, we have to get underneath it.Of course, not all anger is wrong. The Scriptures tell us God is slow to anger and we are called to be slow to anger as well. Love isn't easily angered. But nowhere does it say that God is never angry and that we are never to be angry. But even anger when it's “right” can quickly go “wrong” when it's not processed appropriately.

Hello Treasured Listener's; Our new character this week deals with labels whether it is from a Doctor or a Friend or a Parent or a Co-worker. Labels are just that, they can be peeled away. This is proven by science "Dr. Caroline Leaf who is a neuroscientist specializing in cognitive and metacognitive neuropsychology., "Dr. Joe Dispenza" the author of The Science of Changing Your Mind (2007) and Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself. (Resources for further learning) "Tammy Too Many Labels" took after her Father "Calvin Conditional Labels" and her Mother "Mitsy Misplaced Labels". The journey for Tammy Too Many Labels was in discovering that she took on the label that her father had himself. "OCD" . She demonstrated this when she came into the studio and could not let go of rearranging the labels of the teas. She was obsessed with getting things in a certain way. She explains in her story working with her Father that she copied him. Then she took on a label from her Sister "Justi Justice". Tammy explains that Justi Justice suffers from MDD from her addiction to being right all the time. Tammy adapted this as well. Oh my Tammy was getting too many labels, she started to get really frustrated and then was labeled again by IED. Intermittent Explosive Disorder. Listen for this, it is too funny!,,,, Can't we just get angry without a stinking label? Finally she consulted her "Mother Misplaced Labels" and came to a realization that her music actually removes the labels. She discovered that when she is in the creative mode doing what she loves that everything comes to a calmness and order. She decided to share her music with some of those people that are experiencing discomfort from labels. It was a great awakening for her to make known that her music calmed these individuals with many disturbing labels. Tammy has moved on to make a record Label for herself. She is now contributing to others showing them that they too can remove the disorder in their lives. They too can be creative and live in the calm of order and peace. This was a beautiful opening for Tammy, This is April with the "Acting House of Healing" Remember "When you know what you do" Then " Do What you Know" --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/actinghouseofhealing/message

Azevan Pharmaceuticals is a clinical stage, small molecule drug development company developing novel therapeutics to treat disorders of stress, mood, and behavior. The Company’s first clinical compounds selectively block the effects of arginine vasopressin, a peptide neurohormone involved in the pathophysiology of Intermittent Explosive Disorder, neuropsychiatric symptoms in neurodegenerative diseases, PTSD, and other affective disorders. Vasopressin 1a receptor antagonists represent a novel mechanism of action for addressing these indications. The Company completed a Phase II clinical trial with its lead compound, SRX246, for the treatment of Intermittent Explosive Disorder in adults. The primary endpoint and exploratory goals of the trial were achieved. Two additional Phase II clinical trials launched for the treatment of irritability in Huntington’s Disease Patients and for the treatment of PTSD.
