Want proof that Trump's lost control of the Epstein situation? Just look at how they're trying to respond. A majority of Americans - including a majority of Republicans - think there's a coverup. And why Democrats need to stay on target. Take a lesson from the guy who's won two of the last three presidential elections (and is, you know, currently in the Epstein files). Repeat, repeat, repeat. She dives into the fragile legal structure of NIL, the confusion over fair market value, and the ongoing battle between collectives and compliance. Amanda also discusses why the Big Ten is still exploring private equity while other leagues pull back, and whether Tony Petitti's 5+7 playoff format is a negotiating tactic or a genuine strategy. Antonia helped build one of the most iconic period brands in the world. In this episode, she takes us inside the real, messy, deeply human journey of launching Thinx: from her pink pajama shame moment at 13 to raising millions, writing her own patent, and co-founding a brand that changed the way we talk about periods. But that's only the first half of the story. She opens up about what it actually felt like to raise money, negotiate with strategic partners, and sit in rooms where you slowly lose control of the brand you built. Planning a job is one thing—getting it through the shop without chaos is something else entirely. In part two of our Managing Orders series, we move beyond quoting and scheduling to the messy reality of production: where kitting falls short, setups go long, expectations don't match reality, and quality gets squeezed when time runs out. We've seen it happen. A setup that was budgeted for two hours takes six. Why? Because the job wasn't kitted right. Because the estimator used wishful thinking. Because no one raised their hand when they knew the target was off. It's not just frustrating—it's a breakdown in accountability and trust across your team. This episode is about fixing those breakdowns. We unpack how better handoffs, clearer documentation, and stronger internal service mindsets can completely transform your process. From shift tie-ins and floor leads to process development and postmortems, we share how to build a shop where problems get solved before they become expensive. Roy van den Broek is the founder and CEO of Rentman, a rental business management software platform for event and media production companies. Roy built software for his event equipment rental business in the Netherlands. He had over 100 software customers in Europe before selling his rental equipment company in 2015 to focus on growing his Rentman SaaS company. Rentman grew slowly and profitably as word of mouth spread in the industry and their product evolved. In 2024, after growing to nearly 100 employees and 200,000 users across 100 countries, Roy raised a $22 million growth equity round from Expedition Capital to derisk the founder's investment and add growth capital to continue expanding. In this episode, Roy discusses how they managed the painful growth stages as they expanded from one employee to 80 global employees, building a multi-lingual product and business, and why he chose to raise a significant growth equity investment. Quote from Roy van den Broek, founder and CEO of Rentman “We had a lot of interest in investing in Rentman after COVID, so we ran a quick process. We ended up with 3 term sheets. You have multiple ways to look at these term sheets. You can look at the numbers and the valuation, which is a big part. “But what's often overlooked is the other terms. The other terms are as important as the valuation because they really determine the way you work together. I think these terms might even be important or more important than the valuation. You got to understand their game and really figure out if you could get some alignment. “In essence, you are negotiating the amount of autonomy that you have as a founder. That's basically what we prioritized. Like the board seats and who makes certain decisions, what are the decisions that require a majority vote? And I think we were able to get 100% autonomy on our side.“ Links Roy van den Broek on LinkedIn Rentman on LinkedIn Rentman website Expedition Growth Capital website The Practical Founders Podcast Tune into the Practical Founders Podcast for weekly in-depth interviews with founders who have built valuable software companies without big funding. Amnesty International is now calling Israel's mass atrocity in Gaza “a live-streamed genocide” due to the way this nightmare is unfolding right in front of us on the screens of our devices around the world, and public support for Israel is plummeting in the United States. Welcome back to Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu. In this thought-provoking episode, Tom sits down with Mike Baker—former CIA officer, security expert, and host of the President's Daily Brief podcast—to dissect some of the most pressing issues facing America and the world today. Together, they dive deep into the real threats posed by China, from cyber warfare and TikTok's influence, to intellectual property theft and military ambitions in the South China Sea. Mike shares his insider perspective on just how vulnerable the U.S. population is to manipulation and misinformation, and why America's short-term focus could leave us blindsided by powers playing the long game. The conversation doesn't stop there. Tom and Mike tackle America's mounting debt crisis—why it could be our biggest existential danger—and break down the hard realities of realpolitik, from uneasy alliances to the sometimes ugly calculations behind foreign policy. They take an unflinching look at the Russia-Ukraine war, Israel and Gaza, and the cultural and geopolitical tensions threatening to reshape the global order.
