Back in the mid-1980s, classic muscle cars weren't that cool, there were just old. Cars like Bandit Trans Am's, Chargers, AMXs… sure, they had a following, but they weren't sought after like today. Carburetors gave way to fuel-injection, and it seemed like every new car sold had air conditioning and power windows. And while late 1980s tech was cool 35-years ago, today, it could use an upgrade. That's why we here at Hemmings have decided to revamp a 1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z with a new EFI crate engine, a slick new 5-speed transmission, along with a host of other goodies. On this episode of the Hot Rod BBQ Podcast, host Mike Musto and Hemmings Terry McGean tell you why we chose this iconic Camaro and give you a little insight into the 6-part video series that you'll soon see on the Hemmings YouTube channel.

Movie Review: Big government and big business used big media to crush the little man who was just trying to build a better mousetrap of a car! That's right, our beloved Big 3 all agreed on something - and that something was getting their corrupt state senator to smoosh the competition of Preston Tucker for daring to want to offer a high speed, disc brake, seat belt equipped new car that could really move. I'm betting Elon Musk watched this movie, took notes on what NOT to do, then launched a car company without getting killed. That's all tongue in cheek of course (hopefully)! This is a movie that will inspire you, intrigue you, and make you want to learn more about the Tucker Automobile….but definitely the man who gave it name. It'll also make you want to smoke, drink whiskey, and wear suits with fedoras. I don't know how historically accurate it was in truth but let's assume that it was in the ballpark. Sure made for a good movie! 10 Corndogs Patreon Peeps, the year 2022 will be an important one for Patreon specifically, and if you'd consider jumping up to the $5 level it would sure help.
