Despite what you have been led to believe, it's not really about cars. We discuss Coppola's desire to do something interesting with his wealth, how George Lucas bailed his mentor out after a decade of flops, why Martin Landau was robbed of an Academy Award nomination at the least, Coppola's failure to secure Frank Capra as an executive producer, and so much more.Ryan's Recommendations: “The Godfather” (1972), “Apocalypse Now” (1979), and “The Cotton Club” (1984)For exclusive bonus content and early releases of every episode, join our Patreon and become an Official Minder: http://www.patreon.com/onetrackmindpodcastTheme Music by: Bildschirm (bildschirm.bandcamp.com). The name alone conjures up iconic images: Marlon Brando's chilling stare, helicopters thundering over Vietnam, and a young Al Pacino taking over the family business. But beyond the Godfather films lies a treasure trove of Coppola's work from the 70s and 80s. In this episode, Jason and guest Megan Kearns delve into five of his most intriguing films from this period: The Conversation (1974): A paranoid surveillance expert gets tangled in a web of deceit with chilling consequences. Apocalypse Now (1979): Coppola's epic journey into the heart of darkness of the Vietnam War. Rumble Fish (1983): A stylish and introspective look at teenage alienation starring Matt Dillon and Mickey Rourke. Peggy Sue Got Married (1986): A housewife gets transported back to her high school days in a delightful time-travel comedy. Tucker: The Man and His Dream (1988): The true story of visionary car designer Preston Tucker and his fight against the Detroit giants. Join us as we: Debate the merits of each film: Is Apocalypse Now a masterpiece of cinema or a bloated spectacle? Uncover hidden gems: Is Rumble Fish an underrated coming-of-age story? A recent survey reveals that 9 out of 10 parents prioritize financial independence for their children's adulthood, making it a top concern. We begin by exploring the significance of financial independence and the long-term benefits of early financial education. Recognizing the impact of such education on a child's future, Barb shares insights on why starting early is key.The episode unfolds with actionable steps tailored for different age groups, ranging from 6 to 26. For the youngest, we discuss foundational steps like introducing money through play and establishing basic financial skills and experiences. As the age group progresses, topics shift to budgeting, savings accounts, part-time work, and even discussions about investments. For the older age brackets, we address more advanced concepts such as responsible credit card use, discussions on student loans and college funding, and encouragement for entrepreneurship and side hustles/gigs. YOU"RE NOT ALONE>>>Website: https://www.nami.org/HomePhone: NAMI HELPLINE 800-950-6264 or TEXT "helpline" to 62640In 2020, the nation took a significant step forward with the enactment of the National Suicide Hotline Designation Act, a bill NAMI advocated for that created a nationwide three-digit number (988) to assist people experiencing a mental health or suicidal crisis. This number is now available in communities across the country.NAMI recognizes that other organizations have drawn distinctions between what diagnoses are considered “mental health conditions” as opposed to “mental illnesses.” We intentionally use the terms “mental health conditions” and “mental illness/es” interchangeably.A mental illness is a condition that affects a person's thinking, feelings, behavior, or mood. These conditions deeply impact day-to-day living and may also affect the ability to relate to others. If you have — or think you might have — a mental illness, the first thing you must know is that you are not alone. Mental health conditions are far more common than you think, mainly because people don't like to, or are scared to, talk about them. However:1 in 5 U.S. adults experience mental illness each year1 in 20 U.S. adults experience serious mental illness each year1 in 6 U.S. youth aged 6-17 experience a mental health disorder each year50% of all lifetime mental illness begins by age 14, and 75% by age 24A mental health condition isn't the result of one event. Research suggests multiple linking causes. Genetics, environment, and lifestyle influence whether someone develops a mental health condition. A stressful job or home life makes some people more susceptible, as do traumatic life events. Biochemical processes and circuits and basic brain structure may play a role, too.None of this means that you're broken or that you, or your family, did something “wrong.” Mental illness is no one's fault. And for many people, recovery — including meaningful roles in social life, school, and work — is possible, especially when you start treatment early and play a strong role in your own recovery process.THERE'S HELP & HOPE...

Get ready for a cinematic exploration of innovation and intellectual property as depicted in popular movies about inventors and creators. In this episode, IP Goes Pop!® co-hosts Michael Snyder and Joseph Gushue, peel back the layers of iconic movies that not only inspire us, but also shed light on the realities of building successful businesses and protecting ideas.  Starting with 1988's Tucker: The Man and His Dream, your hosts dive into the story of Preston Tucker and his revolutionary automobile, the Tucker 48. This tale not only epitomizes the spirit of disrupting the status quo but also draws parallels with modern auto-innovators like Tesla. Tucker's journey sheds light on the crucial role of patents in protecting groundbreaking ideas, emphasizing the continued real-world relevance of Tucker's innovations in today's automobiles. The episode next moves through the intricate mazes of copyrights, branding, and partnerships. The Social Network, which depicts the founding of Facebook, serves as a prime example of the potential legal pitfalls that can emerge in the creation of successful companies. It delves into the entangled web of legal battles and the importance of safeguarding ideas in the tech world. This evolution, of what is now known as Meta, highlights the necessity of meticulous contracts and legal representation at different stages of bringing an idea into the world. Another extraordinary origin story is that of the McDonald's franchise, as portrayed in The Founder. While the success of the McDonald's franchise demonstrates how effective branding and strategic IP licensing can catapult a company to global recognition, this cautionary tale of partnerships offers valuable lessons for businesses of all sizes. Ultimately the McDonalds brothers lost control of their company, their name, and their IP such as the “golden arches,” when they were outmaneuvered by an emboldened Ray Kroc and a “handshake” agreement.  The film Flash of Genius draws attention to the pitfalls and triumphs of patent litigation. Lesson learned are especially valuable for inventors and creators, as it underscores the complexities of litigation, the importance of having competent legal representation, and the dangers of self-representation in intellectual property matters. Listeners will come away from this episode not only entertained but also enriched with a deeper understanding of the intersection between intellectual property and popular culture. Whether you're an entrepreneur, a legal professional, a student, or simply a movie buff, IP Goes Pop!® offers a captivating and educational experience that will entertain and inform. Don't miss out on this engaging and enlightening journey through the world of IP and movies!  Starting points: 2:32 Disruption, Technology, and Patents in Tucker: The Man and His Dream (1988) 9:40 Copyright and Idea Protection in The Social Network (2010) 16:43 Branding, Trade Secrets, and Franchising in The Founder (2016) 25:04 The Case of Joy Mangano's Miracle Mop in Joy (2015) 28:55 Patents in Flash of Genius (2008) 34:16 Final Thoughts

If you've seen a 3-year old wielding a quarter-size violin and sawing at its strings to play Mozart, chances are you witnessed a student of the Suzuki Method. Created by Japanese educator, Shinichi Suzuki, the Suzuki Method is how many young American children learn to play classical music on the violin, cello and piano, among other instruments. But the Suzuki Method isn't just about teaching children to master Bach or a vehicle for Tiger Parents to cultivate exceptional children. Rather, it's an approach to education that believes talent is a muscle to be developed and that all children should be measured against their own abilities. We'll talk about Suzuki and why he believed that little children could do great things. Guests: Eri Hotta, author, Suzuki: The Man and His Dream to Teach The Children of the World Cathy Lee, Suzuki Method educator, Lee studied directly with Shinichi Suzuki, and has taught violin for over 40 years. She has also trained dozens of teachers in the Suzuki Method.

Gas and diesel Mopar power are welcome!  Visit https://moparty.com to register and then go buy yourself something for the event at Holley.com. Make SURE you tell them we sent you! Movie Review: Big government and big business used big media to crush the little man who was just trying to build a better mousetrap of a car! That's right, our beloved Big 3 all agreed on something - and that something was getting their corrupt state senator to smoosh the competition of Preston Tucker for daring to want to offer a high speed, disc brake, seat belt equipped new car that could really move. I'm betting Elon Musk watched this movie, took notes on what NOT to do, then launched a car company without getting killed. That's all tongue in cheek of course (hopefully)! This is a movie that will inspire you, intrigue you, and make you want to learn more about the Tucker Automobile….but definitely the man who gave it name.  It'll also make you want to smoke, drink whiskey,  and wear suits with fedoras. I don't know how historically accurate it was in truth but let's assume that it was in the ballpark.  Sure made for a good movie!  10 Corndogs Patreon Peeps, the year 2022 will be an important one for Patreon specifically, and if you'd consider jumping up to the $5 level it would sure help. But what you do in between is a legacy that you leave behind for everyone else. And you've to decide what type of legacy you want to leave.” “Remember who you are and whose you are.” USEFUL RESOURCES: https://www.jimtherookiemorris.com/ https://www.instagram.com/jimtherookie morris  https://www.facebook.com/JimMorris.TheRookie  https://twitter.com/JimTheRookie  https://www.linkedin.com/in/jimtherookiemorris  https://www.dreammakersbook.com/  https://www.youtube.com/user/ProEdgeManagement  CONNECT WITH JOHN Website - https://thejohnhulen.com  Clubhouse - https://www.joinclubhouse.com/@johnhulen  Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/johnhulen  Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/johnhulen  Twitter - https://www.twitter.com/johnhulen  LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnhulen  YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLX_NchE8lisC4NL2GciIWA  EPISODE CREDITS Intro music provided by Tony Palacios - https://www.instagram.com/tonytonedog/  Outro music provided by Jeff Scheetz - https://jeffscheetz.com/

“Jim Morris is no stranger to big dreams. Since he was five years old, he passionately yearned to play baseball in the major leagues. However, despite all his hard work and determination, a series of unfortunate events and injuries scuttled his career before he was twenty-five. Doctors told him he would never play again. Then at age thirty-five—after a string of highly implausible events and at an age when most players are retiring—Morris found himself on the mound as a relief pitcher for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. His return to the game was so incredible that Disney made his story into a heartwarming film—The Rookie—with a stellar performance by Dennis Quaid. It was released to popular acclaim and was a huge box office success. It won the ESPY for Best Sports Movie in 2002 and the CAMIE award for Character and Morality in Entertainment.Morris is the author of two books, with his most recent release entitled Dream Makers. It picks up where The Rookie left off. This compelling memoir explores the untapped territory of Morris’s life, including his contentious relationship with his father, his incessant and grueling struggle with pain and addiction, the mentorship with his wise and loving grandfather who kept him grounded, and the resolve and faith that drove him to overcome every tribulation. Dream Makers explores the transformative power of surrounding yourself with the best, most accomplished people possible—inspiring you to overcome life’s obstacles and achieve your dreams.Morris is a seasoned motivational speaker, traveling the world since 2001. He has participated in such prestigious events as The Million Dollar Round Table, twice. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008, by the Bobby Bragan Foundation. Morris also started a Foundation in his name helping inner city children find hope and inspiration through sports” (Jimtherookiemorris.com).Hosts: Tyler Buchholz and Colin KirkThe Rookie: The Incredible True Story of a Man Who Never Gave Up on His Dream by Jim MorrisDream Makers: Surround Yourself with the Best to Be Your Best by Jim Morris and Mark StuertzJim Morris baseball statisticsBob Feller Act of Valor Award FoundationSupport the show (https://customcoinholders.com/product/walk-of-heroes/)

Join host Shenaya Annise as she sits down with our Senior Leadership -- Dr Robyn Kassas, Ps Tony Kassas, and Ps Nathan Kassas -- and portals on this right-on-time conversation from Heaven about exchanging your fantasy for His Dream. Many of us have our own concept of how we see God fulfilling our destiny and our dreams. Unfortunately, this is an illusion. It is not the way that God sees this fulfillment and ends up usually becoming a fantasy that we tend to live in. In this portal, the team talk about the main reasons behind why we try to live in the fantasy and what effect it has on our relationship with God. They share powerful gems and keys. They discuss how God will massage our heart into His direction and cause us to desire what He desires so that we never settle for our fantasy but go after His Dream. It's about His dream for us; this is where the emphasis is. Dr Robyn reminds us with the main gem of it all -- Our perception of God will become our deception of God and that the number one problem fantasy will create to our lives is limit our concept of who God is. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/portals/message

This time around, we tackle the news that we have a couple of older movies getting the re-cut and re-store treatment with dubious upcoming anniversaries. Sylvester Stallone is working on a directors cut of Rocky IV for its 35th anniversary and Francis Ford Coppola is giving us his definitive cut of The Godfather Part III on its 30th anniversary. We contrast all of that with the upcoming Snyder Cut of Justice League on its... third anniversary?!... and decide whether we're buying or selling all of this nonsense. LINKS OF INTEREST:Just to keep the facts straight, Disney did decide to give us a Mandalorian trailer, it just came a few days after we recorded this episode. Here's the "How To Make A Blockbuster Trailer" video Todd heard about on Fatman Beyond. And yes, they are totally using mannequins for people to make out with on soap operas during COVID.Some background on the robot from Rocky IV, in case you're into that sort of thing.Warning: watching video of the Carl-Arnold handshake from Predator will raise your testosterone levels 400%.For those among the curious, Tim was correct - Jesse Ventura became a governor before Arnold. Ventura was governor of Minnesota 1991-1995 and Arnold Schwarzenegger was governor of California 2003-2011.Here's the full version of James Brown's "Living In America". The Eddie Murphy call out is just after the 4-minute mark.Tucker: A Man and His Dream was definitely not Coppola's finest box office moment, costing an estimate $23 million to make and only making $19.6 million in theaters. Yup, Todd managed to get it somewhat right. The Oscars took back their nomination for The Godfather score because a piece of a theme had been used in another movie. Here's Shawn Michaels hamming it up leading to his match with Hulk Hogan. ...AND ANOTHER THING:TIM recommends checking out the music reaction videos from Twinsthenewtrend on YouTube. Life's been good to these kids - they've got over 630,000 subscribers!TODD thinks you should drop what you're doing and download the new track "Rise" from Corey Henry & The Funk Apostles. FOLLOW US ON THE SOCIAL MEDIAS:Did you love what you listened to? Augustine, Saint, Sinner & Son“Our heart is restless until it rests in You.”When we speak of Saints, not meaning to be disrespectful, we sometimes say, they were sinners who became Saints. If there is one, the world knows most for that distinction, it would have to be Saint Augustine. But he is so much more.We talk of touchability and we think of this Saint. If we’re not careful, we ignore his strength, and become comfortable in his weakness. We speak of conversion, and he comes right to the forefront of our minds. It’s so reassuring; St. Augustine had 30 years to reform his life. We like that idea; convert me, Lord, but can You wait ‘till tomorrow! But as we travel deeper into his life, we discover not only the son Augustine, we encounter the Saint of Prayer, that relentless petitioner, his mother Monica. He led her to her sanctification, as she led him to his. This is a story of a priest and his mother. It’s a story of love, powerful, unconditional, untiring love. It’s not too popular a story, in our present age, because: number one, it’s true; number two, it’s about hope; number three it’s about faithfulness; number four, it’s about conversion; number five, it’s about love and a mother’s love, at that. This all adds up to that very unpopular message of the Gospel. But I think, it’s time for the Gospel. It’s time for Miracles. It’s time for sinners to turn into Saints. It’s time for you and me. “Our heart is restless until it rests in you.” This, probably the most quoted statement of St. Augustine’s Confessions, speaks clearly of man’s struggle on earth and his search for God. We are told, by Jesus, the road is narrow; yet, not listening, we insist on taking that wide road which is so broad, we do not notice when we veer off.God wastes nothing. As He is creating us, He is already formulating a plan, His Dream for us. Everything He places in us, every precious ingredient, including that most precious of all, free will, is a preparation for our complete life with Him in Heaven. Those of us who are parents remember our joy, as we planned, before our babies were born, the hopes and the dreams we had of what they would be like; what course they would take; what kind of life they would lead. We hold our breath until they are born, praying. When we see these little ones, for the first time, we just know they have to be the most perfect (outside of Jesus and Mary), ever born.We hear the words, “He delighted in His creation. He was well pleased. It was good.” Do we ever think how He, our God, feels, when we throw the gift of ourselves, He so carefully fashioned, back to Him, discarding His creation for the plastic substitute the world offers? Thank God, He has generously given us a Heavenly Mother, and an earthly mother like St. Monica, who beg Him for mercy for us, for just a little more time. When we wrote of Mother Mary and her many faces, we called it a love story, a story of a Mother of unconditional love, who, over the centuries, has been intermediary between us and Her Son, and Her Son and us. Parents, as you read this chapter, bring your children, as St. Monica did before you, to the foot of the Altar. Children, read this chapter as your very own. You may find yourself within the pages of this Saint, sinner, and son, Augustine.Continue Reading https://bobandpennylord.store/blogs/news/saint-augustine-and-saint-monica-blog-postSupport the show (https://bobandpennylord.store/pages/we-need-your-help)

Oscar winning screenwriter David Seidler takes us through the multi faceted brilliance and inner workings of his mind! Yes, David won an Oscar for his film, The Kings Speech, but to say that it's not the most interesting thing he's ever done may in fact be true. In his 81 years, David has led ten lives that resemble a fantastical odyssey of international wonder, intrigue, mystery all while dancing with the stars! Our conversation went exactly where it was supposed to go as it traversed his current work, Hollywood, the current state of culture and the craft of writing. My only regret is that it wasn't longer. To me, David is the quintessential example of where the arts meets the humanities! Intro rant - The nature of change in the form of material possessions David Seidler- A Londoner by birth, David was sent to the USA as an infant during WWII which resulted in a childhood stammer. George VI, the stuttering reluctant King, became a boyhood hero, role model, and many years later the inspiration for his film The King’s Speech staring Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush, Helena Bonham Carter, and Guy Pearce, which won the Best Picture Oscar for 2010 and for which David was awarded the golden man for Best Original Screenplay, two BAFTA’s and numerous other gongs. His stage version has toured England, played the West End, and been produced so far in eight foreign languages. He no longer stutters. Seidler’s career commenced with writing dubbing scripts for Godzilla The Monster movies. He has over twenty credits to his name including: Tucker, The Man and His Dream starring Jeff Bridges, directed by Francis Coppola. Nominated for Writing Achievement by the WGA three times (winning for Onassis, The Richest Man In The World). David has also written three animated features, including Quest for Camelot. He is currently working on a Miles Davis project, So What, for Denzel Washington to direct. David has lectured in Milan, Rome, Porto, A.F.I. Los Angeles, Sundance, Dreamago Institute in Switzerland, and Laboratorio Novas Historias in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He lived for several years in Fiji, where he was Political Advisor to Chief Minister Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara. He also resided in New Zealand for eight years and returns to Godzone yearly to educate the trout and torment his son Manu who is a senior video editor at TVNZ. His Dream of Lions, who recently announced their new EP, Pseudo Star. Set to be released on February 2nd, the five-track EP was engineered, mixed, and mastered by Ben Green at Ivakota Studios and showcases a sound that is a departure from His Dream of Lions' pop/rock style with new kinds of synths and drums and will appeal to fans of artists like Fun., COIN, and Colony House. Get a taste of what to expect by checking out lead single, "Love Me Like I'm Sick," which was accompanied by a killer music video paying homage to glam rock bands like Queen.   With their new EP, the four young rockers have captured a feeling about facing uncertainty. Pseudo Star is funny yet serious, epic yet intimate, empowering yet doubtful, touching on the emotions we face when it feels like we don't know where we're going. "But Pseudo Stars still shine," shares frontman Seth Coggeshall, "and that's more than enough reason to press on." Experience the record for yourself and stream Pseudo Star

It was the car of the future! In the late 1940's, a charismatic man named Preston Tucker got America excited about his innovative, futuristic car design... Sid and James welcome Steve Lehto, attorney, author and automotive journalist to talk about Tucker: The Man and His Dream, Francis Ford Coppola's surprisingly accurate portrayal of a man who sold his dream to the country, only to get squashed by the government and the big three. Steve has some amazing stories and the group also discusses Tucker's eerie similarity to Elon Musk. We also talk about the car itself, the Tucker 48 (sometimes called the Tucker Torpedo) and its quirky, ahead-of-its-time features! We got a real knock out for you sluts out there with this one. https://twitter.com/watchalonepod GLOW - the docu, not the show cuz the show sucks even if Allison Brie shows her tits twice in one episode. Valerian - scifi from Luc Besson, not great, but Cara Delevingne who got fucked on a plane apparently and *kisses fingers* God bless he who rogered. Antonio Campos' Afterschool! Lucky McKee's All Cheerleaders Die! John Waters's Polyester! Lovely Divine and Mink Stole tranny love. Great fuckin flick. Kill By Inches - the Tiny Tailor Slasher Shit you didn't think you needed; it's like Perfume, but instead of cologne murders, it's dick measuring tape murders Child's Play 2 - it's good, but Chucky is a dumb franchise! George Romero may he rise in peace - Bruiser from 2000 and Survival of the Dead from 2009 Eric Rohmer's Love in the Afternoon - gorgeous 1972 French morality play Joseph Losey's 1951 Prowler! Noir goes backdoor. David Lowery's A Ghost Story - really good shit per Josh, won't even watch it per Andrew FF Coppola's Tucker: The Man and His Dream - for lovers of Hudsucker Proxy and sad sacks of shit. The Gymnast - Ned Farr's cishet P90x babe wife plays a bulky lesbian in a loveless het marriage. Free your shackles. War for Planet of the Apes - Gollum does monkey business again, but who can remember anything? Woody Harrelson has to walk around reminding the audience of past two plots out loud. Otto Preminger's Bonjour Tristesse - David Niven, Deborah Kerr and Jean Seberg make and ruin love in the beautiful Mediterranean The Horseman - a forgettable sack of shit starring Dennis Quaid. Do you like theme serial killer movies like Se7en? Then skip this one, cuz it's more of the same! L'eclisse - Antonioni. Andrew hates, Josh loves. L'avventura - more Antonioni, ditto. The Naked Prey - some man shit where Africans hunt a naked white down in the bush for sport. Convincingly, he outplays them all. The Hunter - Andrew nearly showed an emotion talking about this one with Willem Dafoe and Sam Neill; a tale of a man hired to kill the last Tasmanian Tiger. Never on Sunday - Jules Dassin's shitty sex comedy. Skip it and watch classic Dassin like Brute Force. Cosmos - Zulawski's last movie before he croaked. Delirious, hallucinatory, amazing, per Josh. The Verdict - Lumet puts Newman as a shitty lawyer who insists his client go to trial on a med mal case when they'd rather settle. Predictably, problems ensue and the law has its ways with the facts.

I Am a Soul Winner and a Disciple Maker1. A People Who Love The Father and His Dream #makedisciples Matt 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things and lo, I am with you alwaysHe had worked with them, he had challenged their values, he developed their character and he had fine tuned there attitudes to the point that they became different men, and here He is now giving them the great commission to do the same #MultiplyDiscipleship is for every born again Christian but in order to be a good disciple maker we must first become a good disciples2. Discipleship is When Our Values Are Challenged #fruitfulinallJn 8:31-32 “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”We live our lives based on the promises of God #chooselifeJn 15:7-8 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.3. Discipleship is When Our Character is Developed Into His HeartbeatMatt 9:35-38 "But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. So pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. The approach of ministry changes when there is a deep seated belief that every believer is called to eventually lead and multiply The burden and yoke is the one He can't carry alone, and that is to preach the gospel and to make and multiply disciples Matt 11:30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”Mk 10:30 “Mark my words, no one who sacrifices house, brothers, sisters, mother, father, children, land—whatever—because of me and the message will lose out. They'll get it all back, but multiplied many times in homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and land4. Discipleship is When Our Attitudes Are Fine Tuned #breakthrouhMk 2:3-12 Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men. 4 And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.” 10 He said to the paralytic, 11 “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” 12 Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”A breakthrough attitude In us can help others get breakthroughWhen they do their part the needs are met and Jesus gets glory Is 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”Tithe and Offering – El Shaddai - The God Who is More Than EnoughGen 17:1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, God appeared to him and told him, “I am the Almighty; obey me and live as you should.Obedience in our giving always releases El- ShaddaiGen 24:1 Abraham was now a very old man, and God blessed him in every way.

Man, I love college… This week, intern Drew Snadecki interviewed Asher Roth, a hip-hop artist who spoke the famously wise words, “Do I really have to graduate? Or can I just stay here the rest of my life?” back in 2008. What has the Bucks County, PA native been up to since he presumably graduated? Making his father proud, of course. “He's extremely critical, which I think is great for me, because when you start to see some success, you start to get a lot of people just wanting to keep you happy, not wanting to piss you off,” said Roth. “We call them Yes Men, and my father definitely isn't one of them.” Roth even has a track dedicated to his father called “His Dream,” and used SAT vocabulary to tell us why. He said, “[I'm a] total mama's boy…my dad was the disciplinarian, my mother was kind of loose, but now that I'm grown up, the authority that my dad had in the household really plays a part of where I am now. It's just kind of like a little bit more mature and taking this opportunity to sit with you and other opportunities a little more seriously.” It appears that Roth is all grown up and his biggest hit to date is but a distant memory.
