The show starts with Benjamin's review of the 2025 Genesis GV80 Coupe, which features a sleeker profile, and a new powertrain with an electric supercharger. How does these changes affect the typically well recieved GV80 crossover? Benjamin spills all the details, while going on quick tangents about wireless charging and digital gauge clusters. Then Sami finds a solution for families on the go with a tight budget. While many may seek out something like the 2025 Honda Pilot, the new Hyundai Santa Fe may be everything families are looking for, especially in the affordable hybrid guise. Sporting 231 horsepower and 36 mpg combined, the Santa Fe feels like a better crossover than its price tag indicates. So whats the catch?
This week the Unnamed Automotive Podcast tackles a pair of vehicles that haven't been discussed in over two years! First Sami reviews the 2025 Ford Explorer ST, which packs plenty of power with its three row setup. While Sami claims that's a good trick to help the Ford overcome its rivals, Benjamin argues that addition is not relevant enough or useful to shoppers. After that hot debate, Benjamin shares his thoughts on the 2025 Genesis electrified G80, a much loved executive sport sedan that made the transition to electron operated propulsion. That change comes with a few compromises as Benjamin notes, but do they tarnish the overall experience? Then the guys return to the Fiat 500e, where one of our listeners describe their use case scenario for the small EV and how it works in a completely different market.
Hyundai launched the 2026 Ioniq 9 SUV ahead of the 2024 LA Auto Show. This three-row electric vehicle is the largest in Hyundai's range and features the company's biggest battery yet. The Ioniq 9 will offer over 300 miles (483 kilometers) of range in all versions and in North America will come natively with a J3400 connector on the side. This new flagship electric SUV builds on the 2021 IONIQ Concept 'SEVEN', with the name change allowing for future vehicles to be called the IONIQ 7 and the IONIQ 8. This model is the third in Hyundai's Ioniq series, following the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6.
In Podcast #340, John Davis and the MotorWeek crew recap everything that's new…and not so new from the 2024 LA Auto Show. We launch into the details of the 4th-gen Volkswagen Tiguan, the revamped Genesis GV70 SUV, a special fashion edition of the Fiat 500e, the 3-row Hyundai IONIQ 9, and Kia's updates to the Sportage, EV9, & EV6. Plus, our Lightning Round brings up Jaguar's controversial rebrand and a viewer has a question about Honda and Toyota's recent influx of recalls.

Put your seatbelt on and get ready for GreenCars, The Podcast's Best Moments in 2024 (part 1)!Some key learnings from 2024 covered throughout episodes 1-6:Cost Savings Over Time:Electric vehicles (EVs) can offer significant long-term savings compared to gasoline vehicles. This includes lower fuel costs, reduced maintenance expenses, and potential tax incentives and rebates. Despite higher upfront costs, the overall cost of ownership can be lower due to these savings.Environmental Benefits:EVs contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution. By switching to an electric vehicle, drivers can significantly decrease their carbon footprint and support sustainable living. EVs are a crucial part of the effort to combat climate change and promote cleaner air quality.Advancements in Battery Technology:Modern EVs are equipped with advanced battery technology that provides longer range, faster charging times, and improved durability. Understanding the different types of batteries, their maintenance needs, and how to maximize their lifespan is essential for prospective EV owners.Charging Infrastructure:A comprehensive understanding of the various types of EV chargers (Level 1, Level 2, and DC Fast Chargers) and the growing network of public charging stations is crucial. Effective charging strategies, including home charging setups and planning for long trips, can enhance the convenience and efficiency of owning an EV.Driving Experience and Performance:EVs offer unique driving experiences with benefits such as instant torque, quiet operation, and smooth acceleration. Additionally, features like regenerative braking can enhance driving efficiency. Prospective EV owners should be aware of these performance benefits and how they differ from traditional gasoline vehicles.Hit that "like" button, subscribe for more electrifying adventures, and join us as we navigate the exciting world of electric vehicles at the Electrify Expo Long Beach 2024!Learn more about greener driving options, or by visiting: https://www.greencars.comHave Questions?
