Send us Fan MailThis week the boys open with a "loving" influencer explaining why we're all going to hell — and it only gets holier from there. Social media Christians who gay-bait on Snapchat, megachurch pastors who need a second jet, and why nobody is getting into Heaven Plus. Then Bobby reports live from Charlotte: a city full of 23-year-olds, an open bar (RIP), and a gay bar near the airport that sparked the most honest conversation about race we've ever had on this show. Plus a gas station encounter that proves travel actually changes you.And the main event: a full dramatic reading from the Book of Faggot — a Grindr message from a hookup 13 years ago with a suspiciously perfect memory, a top-three ranking (out of three), and the coldest "Got it." in recorded history. Also inside: the president is a farter, Pillion is unrealistic (Alexander Skarsgård is a 95, sorry), doctor's office anxiety is just hookup anxiety, why the gays bully the gays, and the moment we realized the days are already getting shorter.

If you've been feeling constantly exhausted, burned out, or mentally drained, even after you've caught up on sleep…this episode is for you. Because sometimes we're tired in ways sleep alone can't fix. Today's truth-bomb: sleep and rest are not the same thing. And most chronically drained people are missing the kind of rest that would actually restore them. In today's quickie, we're breaking down the 4 types of fatigue that could be draining your energy — and why most people are trying to fix the wrong problem. This will help you identify why you're so tired all the time, and what actually works to feel better. Backed by research, fatigue is a multidimensional experience, and until you address the specific type of exhaustion you're experiencing, no amount of sleep, coffee, or productivity hacks will fix it. Tune in to hear about: The 4 main types of fatigue: physical, cognitive (mental overload), emotional, and existential Why doomscrolling, screen time, and constant stimulation are worsening your exhaustion Active vs passive mental fatigue (and why both leave you drained) How people-pleasing and unreciprocated emotional labor lead to deep exhaustion Why you need to close those “open mental tabs” with monotasking How to reduce digital overload and give your brain real rest Why monotasking and closing mental loops can instantly improve focus and energy The power of awe, purpose, and gratitude in reversing existential burnout For advertising and sponsorship inquiries, please contact Frequency Podcast Network. In this episode, Walter sits down with former Congressman Matt Gaetz to discuss explosive whistleblower claims about alien-human hybrid breeding programs, reverse-engineered UFO technology, and government cover-ups. Have you ever been in the middle of a busy, successful season only to be hit by a sudden, creeping feeling that none of it matters? You aren’t alone. In this episode of Thinking Christian, Dr. James Spencer and Dr. Ben Mathew (Professor of Counselor Education at CIU) dive deep into the "existential leg" of the mental health stool. Dr. Mathew joins us from the middle of a literal storm to discuss the figurative storms of the soul—those moments when we feel like we are "running into the wind" without a sense of purpose. We explore why "existential dread" is often a rational response to a broken world and how the local church should serve as the primary "house" of support before we ever reach for clinical intervention. In this episode, we discuss: The "Running into the Wind" Analogy: Understanding the baseline anxiety that seeps into our work and daily lives. Angry at Existence: How to navigate feelings of bitterness toward God or life itself. The Power of Lament: Why we need to stop "shortcutting" to the fix and start making space for groaning and frustration. The Church as Triage: Why general community support is the "glass of water" we often need before calling a "neurosurgeon." Shared Meaning: How the "pillar and buttress of truth" helps us avoid despair. If you’ve been feeling the weight of the world or questioning your impact, tune in for a conversation that re-centers our story within the greater narrative of God's work. Get early access and a bonus with a Patreon membership. Subscribe to our YouTube channel To read James's article on this topic, check out his author page on Christianity.com.

If you're wrestling with big questions about your purpose, you aren't broken—you're experiencing a universal part of being human. In this episode, Dr. Judy Ho explains that existential anxiety isn't a malfunction; it's a message from your brain to pay attention to your life. Whether you are navigating a quarter-life crisis, a midlife transition, or a major identity shift, learn how to turn that discomfort into a values-driven path forward.Key insights include:Meaning over pleasure: Why humans are driven by meaning and how "eudaimonic" flourishing is more protective against distress than temporary pleasure. The paradox of choice: How social media and infinite options can paralyze our ability to choose a meaningful life.Values as a compass: Why you should live by your values—which are inexhaustible directions—rather than your fleeting moods or temporary goals. This week on NAFC, the boys somehow juggle politics, sports, and life frustrations before diving into something way darker. They kick things off talking about ICE, facial recognition tech showing up at MSG, and somehow land on the Charlotte Hornets—because nothing says smooth transition like that. There's also a unanimous agreement that children's band recitals are universally painful experiences.Izzy shares his thoughts on The Scarlet Letter and gives more updates on his new house, where things continue to go wrong in increasingly creative ways. Gibbs brings in a review of Mosaic Perspective, while Mox and Gibbs get into spoiler territory on Project Hail Mary. Finally, the crew dives into Him (2025)—a tense, uncomfortable watch that fits right into their wheelhouse of “why did we pick this?”Support us on Patreon!

Andy Frasco and the crew dive into one of those episodes that somehow starts with gym etiquette and ends with a full-on reality check about life, music, and why people need to stop waiting around. From awkward gym interactions to debates about philosophy, retirement, and whether anyone actually knows how to "live in the moment," this one goes everywhere. Nick Gerlach brings the heat with some brutally honest takes on musicians, success, and why complaining might be the biggest thing holding people back. There's also talk about touring, TV pilots, Sundance moving to Boulder, and the changing music scene. It's funny, chaotic, a little unhinged, and surprisingly real. If you've ever questioned your career, your habits, or just people in general, this episode hits.

Claude's new AI code review feature sparked a huge backlash this week, with developers stunned by the $15–$25 per pull request pricing. But the debate quickly became about more than cost. The controversy exposed a deeper tension about whether AI tools should be priced like software subscriptions or like labor they replace, and revealed the existential anxiety developers are feeling as agent-driven workflows begin dissolving long-standing rituals like human code review. Your body is basically a Cold War-era construction site, and Lexington is ready for company from 40 light years away. In Episode 1044, Scot and Tony examine the "Existential Dread" of birthdays, the biology of aging, and why you should never let a "Feng Shui Master" near public road safety equipment. As always, the news is true—as far as you know.Space-Age Bourbon: Lexington, Kentucky is so desperate for tourists they've started firing infrared lasers into space. They've sent the molecular structure of water, bourbon, and dopamine to a star system 40 light years away. We expect a "No Thanks" by 2064.The "Ship of Theseus" Body: Why do you feel like you died at Gettysburg when most of your cells are less than 10 years old? We dive into cell turnover, carbon-14 dating from Cold War nuclear tests, and the parts of you (like your eye lenses) that are "original equipment" from birth. The "Aunt's Dog" Defense: A Florida woman (because of course) tries to beat a mandated drug test by submitting a sample from her aunt's dog. Pro tip: Scientists can tell the difference between human DNA and a Golden Retriever.Demonic Mirrors vs. Oncoming Traffic: In Shanghai, a woman's quest for better Feng Shui leads her to disable a traffic mirror because it was "irradiating her home with negative energy." The result? High-speed "positive energy" collisions at a 90-degree turn.Birthday Logistics: Why having a birthday six months from Christmas is the ultimate gift-giving hack, and why June 15th is a dangerous day for Scot's memory. If you enjoyed this dose of the truth-adjacent, please like the video, subscribe to the channel, and leave a comment. January 21st – Show 1103The ChatThe group discussed Lee’s recent car purchase of a Chinese car and his father’s temporary move into his mother’s house. T shared that she was feeling low and anxious, particularly concerned about the current political climate. The conversation also touched on the growing popularity of Chinese-made vehicles and the lower tariffs they now face in Canada, with Lee and Snug agreeing that buying a Chinese car was not problematic as long as it met their needs. Planning for Life’s Uncertainties The group discussed personal challenges, with T sharing emotional fragility and Snug coping with his aunt’s recent death, which prompted reflections on mortality and the need for planning. Lee emphasized the importance of preparing for such eventualities by organizing important information and having conversations with family members about their wishes and assets. Many of us wrestle with the unsettling truth that everyone – including ourselves and those we love – will one day die. Though this awareness is uncomfortable, research suggests that the human capacity to contemplate death is a byproduct of consciousness itself. In fact, our efforts to cope with mortality are at the core of culture, religion, the desire for wealth, and even many of today's societal crises. How might a deeper understanding of our implicit reactions to mortality help us turn towards responses that are more supportive of our species and planet? In this episode, Nate is joined by Sheldon Solomon, a psychologist and co-developer of Terror Management Theory, which posits that while all living beings strive to survive, humans are unique in knowing that death is unavoidable. Solomon explores some of our instinctual coping mechanisms, including clinging to existing cultural worldviews and activities that bolster our self-esteem, even when they may have negative consequences for those around us. He also explains how these defensive mechanisms manifest in modern society, influencing politics, consumerism, and religious beliefs. Why does our fear of death drive materialism and the endless hunger for "more"? How do reminders of death impact our attitudes toward people with different political or religious beliefs? And lastly, could practices rooted in mindfulness, gratitude, and awe help us to more skillfully relate to death anxiety by strengthening our relationships, giving to our community, and reveling in the expansive magnificence of the universe in which we get to inhabit? (Conversation recorded on September 25th, 2025) About Sheldon Solomon: Sheldon Solomon is Professor of Psychology at Skidmore College. His research on the behavioral effects of the unique human awareness of death have been supported by the National Science Foundation and the Ernest Becker Foundation, and were featured in the award winning documentary film Flight from Death: The Quest for Immortality. Sheldon is the co-author of the book In the Wake of 9/11: The Psychology of Terror and The Worm at the Core: On the Role of Death in Life. Additionally, he is an American Psychological Society Fellow, as well as a recipient of an American Psychological Association Presidential Citation (2007) and a Lifetime Career Award by the International Society for Self and Identity (2009). Jack Elderton and Cal Goodall break down West Ham's 0-2 loss to Brentford in the Premier League. Nuno Espírito Santo rung in the changes at the London Stadium on Monday night, with surprise inclusions for West Ham academy graduate Oliver Scarles and Scottish international Andy Irving starting the game against The Bees. Alexis Plaen releases her sharp, conceptual, and beautifully constructed pop debut, “Enjoy the Void,” on 10/10/25. In advance of that, she joined me for a conversation in Avondale that covered: *The pervasive album themes of existential dread and finding oneself *The devastating (and perhaps suspect) house fire that changed everything for her *The variety of styles and approaches to her music *The trouble with TikTok *The hauntingly accurate and memorable lyric, “Too bad a funeral’s cheaper than a hospital” If you haven’t yet heard Alexis’s music or watched her videos, I think you’ll be impressed by how accomplished it all is. Truly a striking DIY debut. Car Con Carne is sponsored by Easy Automation: Looking to transform your home, office, or business into a smart, seamlessly connected space? Alexis Plaen releases her sharp, conceptual, and beautifully constructed pop debut, "Enjoy the Void," on 10/10/25. In advance of that, she joined me for a conversation in Avondale that covered: *The pervasive album themes of existential dread and finding oneself *The devastating (and perhaps suspect) house fire that changed everything for her *The variety of styles and approaches to her music *The trouble with TikTok *The hauntingly accurate and memorable lyric, "Too bad a funeral's cheaper than a hospital" If you haven't yet heard Alexis's music or watched her videos, I think you'll be impressed by how accomplished it all is. Truly a striking DIY debut. Car Con Carne is sponsored by Easy Automation: Looking to transform your home, office, or business into a smart, seamlessly connected space? What do you get when you mix a disappearing god, a multiverse glitch, and a talking squirrel? Apparently, therapy. Show Notes: In this second helping of the Ash Ely Planescape Postmortem, the hosts dissect the juicy narrative meat of a campaign marinated in memory loss, Mind Flayers, and metaphysical trauma. From the desperate hunt for Orochalcum to the chaos of battling Cathraxus (yes, that Cathraxus), our hosts recount the highs, lows, and emotional collateral damage of storytelling across the planes. The episode dives deep into the decisions that shaped the campaign—like letting players talk to their other selves (always a great idea until it's not), negotiating with shady NPCs who definitely read the fine print, and exploring the emotional weight of being a dwarven sister with unresolved issues. Featuring Rattatosk mischief, back-alley conspiracies, a glitch in the multiverse, and the Lady of Pain pulling the ultimate disappearing act, this episode will remind you that sometimes the best part of tabletop games is just how weird, poignant, and gloriously off-rails they can get. No, we're still not emotionally recovered. After Excelsior, the cast needed a palate cleanser. They got existential dread instead. Radar almost died. Ash almost killed him. Honestly, we all almost cried. Emotional damage: acquired. At least we had fun! (Said through tears.) “I can let you talk to your other incarnations.” – what could possibly go wrong? Always check your contracts. This is Planescape, not Disneyland. There was an argument, and yes, it was Ash's fault. “I want one of your incarnations.” – Excuse me?! Orochalcum: not just hard to spell, but apparently vital to reality. Glorium: where big things happen, and sometimes explode. Enter the Rattatosk, chaotic good(ish) squirrel gremlin. Tilia's emotional arc hit way too close to home. The Lady of Pain is gone—and that's everyone's problem. Fights get wild when the enemy is Cathraxus, bring backup. The dwarven sisters have more drama than a season finale. Mind Flayers: when one plot thread just isn't enough. The players' choices kept reshaping the story like a psychic Etch-A-Sketch. Zavik spilled the beans on a multiversal conspiracy. The last Modron March? Yeah, they got banished. Shemeshka is back. Of course she's back. There was a glitch. No, not in the Matrix. In reality. The Lady of Pain's rebirth was… a moment. Mazes are now graveyards for forgotten worlds. Thanks, Ash. The Gatekeeper's tragic past is a storytelling gut punch. Despite it all, hope kept showing up. Mostly uninvited. Final score: Lady of Pain sacrifices herself, players cry, and the DM retires (until next week). Final Thoughts: Planescape Part II delivers all the chaos, depth, and emotional wreckage you'd expect from a campaign where metaphysical squirrels share the stage with godlike beings and grief-laced mazes. Would play again. Would cry again. How is Trump's executive order redefining the language permissible in scientific research, and what does it mean for academic freedom? Today, we examine the complexities surrounding scientific research under shifting political landscapes with Ivan Oransky, a seasoned medical journalist and co-founder of Retraction Watch. Oransky discusses the implications of President Trump's executive orders and how it has sent ripples throughout the scientific community, causing researchers to reconsider their work amidst existential uncertainties. Oransky explores the nuanced relationship between government funding and scientific inquiry. This episode unpacks the historical precedents of government involvement in research, tracing back to the 1940s, and examines the mounting challenges faced by scientists under the recent policy changes. Oransky provides a critical analysis of how such directives potentially stifle open inquiry and drive talented researchers away, ultimately impacting the future landscape of scientific discovery. Send us a textThis episode was a whirlwind of chaotic energy fueled by cold brew, deep thoughts on dicks, and unsolicited introspection. Bobby and Jim discuss everything from waking up at ungodly hours, Botox touch-ups, and the undeniable power of bulge bands. There's talk of mysterious Irishmen, deep-seated bisexuality panic, and how Gen Z is dismantling the big dick industrial complex. The boys take a detour into a philosophical breakdown of averages (which nearly breaks Bobby's brain), get deep into Trump voters realizing they've been conned, and unpack why someone always has a bottle of lube at the ready.Somewhere along the way, Jim relives his DC trauma of watching Beaches next to a grieving classmate, Bobby gets manhandled in a Chicago bar bathroom, and they both theorize that being blind might make sex infinitely better. Also, a local takedown segment hilariously roasts a couple with too much sniffies exposure, and they contemplate why straight frat guys invented butt chugging. It all ends with Bobby questioning if he should go into politics and a serious, yet unserious, conversation about how tech bros like Elon Musk are destroying the world. Most Inappropriate MomentsThe boy pussy moan during straight sex.A man being “helped” to pee by an overly supportive stranger.A deep discussion about how straight frat boys invented butt chugging. The full forensic analysis of dried cum stains on various clothing items.Monkeypox paranoia spiraling into full-body checks.A local couple exposed for their public sniffies profiles. The realization that half of men have a dick under 5.5 inches.A therapy session gaslighting a man into believing he isn't sick.Someone carrying pre-lubed pockets “just in case.”The math breakdown of how dick size averages really work.Frat boys nervously explaining why butt chugging isn't gay.A man getting Botox while wearing a suspiciously stained hoodie.Straight men admitting they've thought about the other side.Airport passengers losing their minds over flight delays.A guy jerking off in a car with emergency lube on standby.Support the showAs always you can write us at nowellpodcast@gmail.com or call us at (614) 721-5336 and tell us your Not Wells of the week InstagramTwitterBobby's Only FansHelp us continue to grow and create amazing content, like a live tour or just help fund some new headphones when needed. In this episode, Jonathan and James tackle life's most pressing questions with their usual mix of humor, skepticism, and existential dread. Why do people trust AI to make decisions for them, even when it's clearly wrong? How is it possible that intelligent life should be everywhere in the universe, yet we've found nothing? And in perhaps the most unsettling discovery of the week—Egyptian mummies actually smell amazing. They also go on wild detours about the global chicken census (which James wildly overestimates), reminisce about pandemic-era absurdities, and consider whether aliens are just watching us like a cosmic reality show. Oh, and if you're wondering what a 2 AM walk with a dog and zero signs of human life feels like—it might just be the start of an alien abduction. Come for the thought-provoking discussion, stay for the revelation that maybe—just maybe—you should save a horse and bang a mummy.
