Earlier this week, legendary comic Jeff Foxworthy joined the FOX News Rundown, sitting down with host Dave Anthony to talk about his career, his creative process, and his new FOX Nation special, The Joke's on Me. Foxworthy explained why he wanted to take viewers inside the grueling creative process of stand-up comedy, rather than just make his latest special an hour of performing. He also told Dave the origins of his iconic ‘you might be a redneck' jokes and how his wife remains his toughest critic and a vital part of his career. Jeff Foxworthy had many great stories and interesting insights from his decades in comedy and entertainment, but we couldn't fit them all into our weekday version. Today on Fox News Rundown Extra, we will share our entire interview with comedian Jeff Foxworthy. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Laughing in the Dark: Suicide Prevention, Comedy, and Hope with Frank King In this episode, Kevin sits down with Frank King, a suicide prevention speaker, comedian, and former writer for The Tonight Show. Frank spent 20 years writing for late night television and has been a full time speaker and comedian for more than 40 years. Frank's work is deeply personal. His speaking is shaped by his lifelong experience with Major Depressive Disorder and Chronic Suicidal Ideation, including moments where he came close enough to ending his life that he can speak honestly and powerfully about what that darkness feels like. Instead of hiding that story, Frank has turned his long, dark journey of the soul into lifesaving work. He has delivered 13 TEDx Talks and shares his insights with corporations, associations, and audiences across the country to help people understand suicide prevention, mental health, and the power of honest conversation. Over the course of his career, Frank has shared the stage with legendary comedians and entertainers including Jeff Foxworthy, Adam Sandler, Jerry Seinfeld, Dr. Ken Jeong, Ellen DeGeneres, Dennis Miller, Lou Rawls, The Beach Boys, and Randy Travis. And somehow, on top of all that, Frank has survived two aortic valve replacements, a double bypass, a heart attack, and losing to a puppet on the original Star Search. And yes, he's lived to joke about it all. This conversation is honest, meaningful, surprisingly funny, and deeply human. Frank brings a rare mix of comedy, courage, and lived experience to one of the most important conversations we can have. In This Episode Kevin and Frank talk about: • Suicide prevention and mental health • Living with Major Depressive Disorder • Chronic Suicidal Ideation • Why humor can help open hard conversations • Turning pain into purpose • Frank's journey as a comedian, speaker, and TEDx presenter • What people often misunderstand about suicidal thoughts • How honest conversations can save lives About Frank King Frank King is a suicide prevention speaker, comedian, and former writer for The Tonight Show. He has been a full time speaker and comedian for 40 years and has delivered 13 TEDx Talks. His work is informed by his lived experience with Major Depressive Disorder and Chronic Suicidal Ideation, and he now uses comedy and storytelling to help organizations have lifesaving conversations around mental health and suicide prevention.

What if you could actually enjoy praying? Believers know praying is a commandment and not just a good idea but being told to pray doesn't automatically birth a love for prayer in anyone. We know we should pray, but precious few of us enjoy a healthy prayer life. If we manage to squeeze prayer time into our busy lives, we often end up feeling like our efforts are wasted and fruitless because we aren't doing it right. Author Shellie Rushing Tomlinson knows how it feels to be stuck in a hit-or-miss prayer life while longing for a deeper connection with God. Shellie helps believers move past this common struggle so they can enjoy the life-transforming gift of prayer. Don't Try to Pray Like Her: Fifteen Simple Habits to Enjoy a Realer, Richer Prayer Life is packed with Southern charm, humor, and fifteen prayer habits drawn from Shellie's own experience. They're each built around a short story and a practical prayer support that will help you learn to enjoy lingering in God's presence. Scripturally anchored and perfect for personal reading or small groups, Don't Try to Pray Like Her will reshape how you experience God in prayer, one real conversation at a time. We get into his broadcasting career and the challenges that he faced in the broadcast booth. Then we talk about him creating Northgate Capital and getting into the financial industry. Lastly, we finish the interview with the Fatherhood Quick Five.  About Brent Jones  Brent Jones spent his entire athletic career—prep, college and professional—in the Bay Area, going from Leland High in San Jose to Santa Clara University to the San Francisco 49ers. He was the third tight end taken in the 1986 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 5th round. After being injured in a car accident, the Steelers released him allowing him to be signed by the 49ers and the rest is history for the South Bay product. Eleven of his twelve years in the NFL were as the Niner's All-Pro tight end. Jones ranks fifth in 49er career receiving history. In regular season play, he caught 417 passes for 5,195 yards and 33 touchdowns. In addition, Jones had 60 receptions for 740 yards and 5 touchdowns in the playoffs.  He helped San Francisco to victories in Super Bowls XXIII, XXIV and XXIX. Therefore, Jones became the prototype for the tight end position under legendary 49er Coach Bill Walsh, the architect of the West Coast Offense. A strong blocker, he was an integral part of the 49er offense. In 1998, Jones was awarded the AIA Bart Starr Award, given annually to the NFL player who best exemplifies outstanding character and leadership in the home, on the field and in the community. Brent retired from the NFL in 1998 and was quickly signed by CBS Sports for the NFL Today Show, and later as an NFL game analyst. He co-founded Northgate Capital and resides with his family in the Bay Area. Brent Jones and his wife, Dana, have two daughters, Rachel and Courtney. About Who Needs Friends “You don't really have any friends, do you, Dad?”   A seemingly innocuous, if direct, question from Andrew McCarthy's son left him reeling. McCarthy did have friends. Yet, like so many other men, the necessities of modern adult life had forced his friendships to the background. At one point his friends had been instrumental in broadening his horizons, bolstering his courage, providing safe harbor. Now, McCarthy found himself questioning what had happened to those friendships. Whether he needed them, what he valued, and what he had to offer. A simple question had become a moment that demanded a reckoning.  About The Art of Fatherhood Podcast  The Art of Fatherhood Podcast follows the journey of fatherhood. Oh boy, a talking animal movie counts as a racing movie? Of course it does! Racing Stripes stars Frankie Muniz as a Zebra who thinks he's a race horse. He finds a found family at a ranch after he was abandoned from a Circus. These wild group of characters include Hayden Panettiere, Dustin Hoffman, Whoopi Goldberg, Mandy Moore, Steve Harvey, David Spade, Snoop Dogg, Joe Pantoliano, Jeff Foxworthy, Michael Clarke Duncan and yeah I think that's enough. Hayden Panettiere is a person tho, not an animal. Anyway this episode went of the rails real quick when we started talking about horse breeding.Don't forget to join our Discord for movie nights and additional podcast discussions!Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Alec Gillis stops by to have a heartfelt conversation about his fatherhood journey. He and I have an honest conversation about the influence his dad had on him to make his own choice on how to be a dad. He shares the life lessons he learned from his four daughters. After that we blend family and his career by talking about working with his daughter, Camille. We go into his fantastic career in the film industry and how his craft has evolved over the years. Lastly, we finish the interview with the Fatherhood Quick Five.  About Alec Gillis Alec Gillis grew up in Orange County, California within sight of the Disneyland fireworks show. As a kid he roamed the mean streets of Main Street Disneyland, sometimes summering on Tom Sawyer's Island. It was here he gained a lifelong appreciation of animatronics, but it was in the local movie theaters that he fell in love with genre films. At age 20 Gillis began working for Roger Corman on a film called Battle Beyond The Stars. This was along with James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd. It wasn't long before Alec dropped out of UCLA Film School in favor of the education Corman offered. Gillis was recommended by James Cameron to Stan Winston, where Gillis worked on effects for classic films such as Aliens and Predator. In 1988 he co-founded Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. (ADI) with Tom Woodruff, Jr. Tremors was the company's first feature, and the film's giant subterranean worms gained notoriety for Gillis. As of 2022, Gillis is now a solo Creature FX Designer, founding his new company, Studio Gillis. His mission is to continue the tradition of creating high quality practical characters and to promote the art of Practical FX. To that end, his production company, Pro Machina, produces modest budget genre films as well as creating miniature effects for films such as Alien: Romulus. She's toured around the country, performed with some of the biggest comedians like Bert Kreischer, released specials and she's headed to Florida to perform. But before she does, she was nice enough to stop by the Doc G Show. Doc and Katherine had such a long talk, that we're splitting it up over two episodes! Meanwhile on the rest of the show Doc pulls through with his promise and tells Mike why there's an air recirculation button on car A/C. Not only that he gives about 100 more useless facts about car A/C.
