WWE has reportedly set its sights on "Switchblade" Jay White for their big Wrestlemania season free agent signing but that may not be the biggest news. According to recent reports, the company is interested in none other than Kenny Omega, the star and executive vice president of AEW, and IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion. Omega's contract is believed to be up or nearing its expiration date, although there is speculation that it could be extended due to injuries. Omega and his Elite stablemates The Young Bucks have had a highly successful four years with AEW, but it seems that WWE may have a plan for how to use Omega if they can convince him to join the company. Cody Rhodes, who helped create AEW alongside Omega and The Young Bucks, returned to WWE last year and is now set to compete for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of WrestleMania after winning the 2023 Royal Rumble. Could Omega be next in line for a big push in WWE? Also, AEW owner Tony Khan has taken to social media to criticize mixed martial arts reporter Ariel Helwani for his relationship with WWE, a company he reports on. Helwani appeared on "WWE SmackDown" to promote Montreal native Sami Zayn's promo and narrate a video about his main event match against Roman Reigns at the Elimination Chamber premium live event. This feud has stemmed from a past interview when Helwani asked Khan about the infamous media scrum and subsequent backstage altercation after AEW All Out 2022 involving CM Punk. Khan declined to comment, leading to Helwani calling it one of the most frustrating interviews of his career. Michael Cole even got involved in the argument, throwing shade at Helwani during commentary at the Elimination Chamber event. While Ariel Helwani is a respected journalist, his relationship with WWE has caused some backlash, and his appearance on the company's programming has sparked this feud with Khan. Finally, JDfromNY will go over the FALLOUT of the 2023 WWE Elimination Chamber, and the major storyline of Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, and Roman Reigns coming out of last night's EPIC main event, Mercedes Mone winning the IWGP Women's Championship, CM Punk showing up at Battle In The Valley, and more!

He explains why Triple H made the right decision to have Roman Reigns beat Sami Zayn and why he thinks he may have been too harsh on one aspect of last night's main event, where he thinks the Jey Uso story might be going and why this story is every bit as much about Jey as it is about Zayn, if not moreso. Welcome to the Squared Circle Podcast! I am your host Marie Shadows! And on this episode, I'm talking all about Mercedes Mone debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17. But first, make sure to grab your copy of my wrestling planner, One More Match from Amazon! Link: One More Match: A Wrestling Planner 2023: Shadows, Marie: Amazon.com: Books (If you need a link to your area or country, please let me know!) PLEASE LISTEN TO THIS PODCAST WITH AN OPEN MIND! Thanks! I hope that for 2023, Mercedes Mone proves me wrong about her time in Stardom with New Japan Pro Wrestling. Ever since November of 2022, New Japan has agreed to allow more Stardom wrestlers and wrestling matches onto their shows. NJPW is using Stardom as their women's division. Well, she gets to Wrestle Kingdom 17 after Tam vs Kairi Sane for IWGP Women's Championship and her debut is overwhelming and over performative. New Japan Pro Wrestling doesn't have the WWE magic to keep someone looking like a million bucks when they lack skill in other aspects of wrestling (using it as an umbrella term). New Japan doesn't care about how sexy you can get, how much make up you wear, or even how many hip swivels you do. All Japan cares about is wrestling. Awesome entrances and gear are one thing but once that bell rings, they care about the wrestling. Mercedes Mone automatically debuted and challenged Kairi Sane. That's an easy night for her since both have history in WWE. They've fought each other before. I'm concerned about Mercedes Mone being in Japan without having some matches and thinking she could be on their level. Japanese women train differently than American women. Japanese women go through the same dojo system as the Japanese men. American women train at wrestling schools but it's nothing like the dojo system. You can be called a wrestler and have matches after a 12-week training course (about 3 months) and that's if you can understand everything under that deadline. The wrestling training camps are so short. I don't like complaining about debuts but this one rubbed me the wrong way. Please listen to the podcast episode with an open mind. I used to like Sasha Banks; I just don't like Mercedes Mone. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/squaredcirclepodcast/message

Mina Shirakawa had one her best matches of her career in Stardom when she face Saya Kamitani for the White Belt in Hiroshima Goddess Festival on November 3rd but a botched finisher by Kamitani resulted in her losing 2 or 3 frontal teeth and bruised jaw. Also in Stardom's Hiroshima Goddess Festival, Mayu Iwatani madeva surprising move after defending the SWA title for a 3rd victory, she decided to relinquish itbto focus on the IWGP Women's Championship but what does this means for the title now that is vacant. At WWE Crown Jewel, Logan Paul had an amazing match against Roman reign for the Undisputed Championship so what are my initial thoughts. More info is coming out about the biopic film based of pro Wrestling family the Von Erichs which features Zac Afron and AEW star MJF. Unagi Sayaka continues to make waves as a freelancer but her recent development is at Just Tap Out when an unexpected Joshi wrestler made a surprising choice. Finally, Shooter aka Shota Umino now graduated to Roughneck made his surprise return to New Japan and challenge Will Ospreay at the Historic X-Over for the IWGP United States Heavyweight championship. ENJOY.
The match is set for November 20th for the IWGP Women's Championship with KAIRI vs. Mayu Iwatani who were the 2 aces of Stardom. The Joshi world was surprised with the return of Joshi wrestler Marika Kobashi as a freelance wrestler. Stardom members with be in New York for NJPW Rumble on 44th. Unagi Sayaka progress in Marvelous as a freelancer. What's going on with the Never Openweight Championship. 3 Joshi wrestlers are in Mexico for CMLL for lady's Grand Prix. Jungle Kyona vs. Riho. ENJOY
All Japan and Dramatic Dream Team are the main focus of the newest edition of the Eastern Lariat as both companies came off a weekend with multiple title matches. While DDT is giving us one of the best championship runs in recent history with Kazusada Higuchi, many decisions in AJPW, specifically around the Voodoo Murders, are mind boggling and they led to in part atrocious matches. Besides these two companies STRIGGA & Dylan also briefly preview the big NOAH & DRAGONGATE shows on the coming weekends and the final of the IWGP Women's Championship and its impact on NJPW is up for discussion at the end of the show!
Talked about Stardom 5STAR Grand Prix 2022 finals and what's the situation with the IWGP Women's Championship tournament. Developments with Joshi wrestler Unagi Sayaka apparently announced a interesting move. When we thought the drama was done in AEW, appears more is happening with Andrade "El Idolo" and Sammy Guevara. AEW seems to made a deal with former ROH World champion Bandido. ENJOY.
Alex and Dylan are back for another loaded episode of Stardom Quest. They discuss Unagi Sayaka's potential departure from Stardom, the IWGP Women's Championship tournament bracket and news, the New Blood 5 card, and the announced card for Stardom's PPV on November 3 including Konami's return. September 21st, 2022 will be remembered when Saraya (fka Paige) shock the Wrestling World when she appeared on AEW Dynamite/Grand Slam. Malakai Black speaks out on Instagram Live to set the record straight on what the dirtsheets are saying but also in relation Buddy Matthews was also in this predicament. At Stardom in Showcase vol. 2 we saw the beginning of a war between the old school Stardom vs. the new school. At DPW Victory Lap on September 17th we saw for the first time ever 2 Joshi wrestlers meet in the ring for the first time. More information is being set for the final matches of Keiji Muto/The Great Muta before his final match on February 2023. Finally, KAIRI announced that she will participate in the as a 3rd entrant in the international bracket for the IWGP Women's Championship. ENJOY.
AEW faces with a very delicate situation when CM Punk when on media scrum after All Out and disses Colt Cabana, Hangman Adam Page and the Elite that led into an altercation. Question is how could this been handled and where do they go from here. WWE had one of the most incredible matches at Clash at the Castle which was the Intercontinental Championship between Gunther vs. Sheamus that we agree should be a 5 star match. Something had developed with with Japanese promotions like Pro Wrestling NOAH and Dragon Gate which could lead a somewhat of a Jr. Heavyweight event. Keiji Muto transforms into his demon side the Great Muta for one last time at Osaka where the N-1 Victory finals took place in 6 man tag team match. Since the IWGP Women's Championship was announced, how this was was going find competition with Stardom bracket and international bracket. Jungle Kyona is set for her American appearance at various promotions. ENJOY.

Jon Moxley's summer gets capped off with a quick finish to his Interim World Title reign, dominating CM Punk to become Undisputed Champion. Can this story distract fans from the stories of drama behind the scenes in AEW? New Japan Pro Wrestling teams up with Sister-Promotion Stardom, to introduce the first ever IWGP Women's Championship - but The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer tells Mike McGuire how this could actually be a move to appeal more to AMERICAN audiences, than home country Japan. Next up, Canadian wrestler and historian, Vern May, better known to fans as Vance Nevada, takes us through his incredibly detailed project, "(Un)Controlled Chaos: Canada's Remarkable Professional Wrestling Legacy". Nevada shares stories of how a tall tale turned into his passion for researching wrestling history, some of the opposition he has faced, as well as getting over his own personal feelings when compiling information and stats - as well as "Best of" lists.
