Johnny GoudieHis alternative, pop-rock band, Goudie, was signed by Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich who was impressed enough to release the album “Peep Show” in 2000. Besides his namesake band, Johnny Goudie has also made a name for himself with the Austin-based bands, Mr. Rocket Baby and Skyrocket, among others. Since 2011, he's hosted the “How Did I Get Here?” podcast, which is a question worth asking considering his Lars connection and work with members of the Go-Go's, Fastball, the BoDeans and others. He joins us to discuss all this and more.Created and Produced by Jared Tuten

True Crime Podcast 2024 - REAL Police Interrogations, 911 Calls, True Police Stories and True Crime

The Murder Of Natalie Antonetti [True Crime Documentary] Natalie Antonetti, a carefree and loving mother, died in a tragic accident that has remained a mystery for more than 26 years. Natalie, a 38-year-old Cuban native who excelled in the Austin music scene and regularly brought friends over for haircuts and home-cooked meals, was killed by an unknown assailant, according to the Austin police department. It was an ordinary Sunday on October 13th, 1985. Natalie Antonetti, 38, shared a room with her roommate Susan Otten and her sixteen-year-old son Johnny Goudie in Austin, Texas. On October 12, she went to a bar called Toulouse with friends the night before, returned at around 2.30 a.m., and promptly fell asleep on the couch. Susan, too, had retreated to her bed. Natalie Antonetti awakened at 4.40 a.m. to sip a glass of water, but she remained sound asleep on the couch. Susan, who had been asleep in her bed for approximately an hour, awoke to the sound of thumping and groaning and followed the sound of a door closing into the living room. Natalie was seated on the couch with her head bent. She had no clue it was her at first since she was unrecognizable and covered in blood. Susan roused Johnny and quickly dialed 911. Johnny tried to ask NaNatalie Antonettitalie what had occurred, but she couldn't talk or reply. Her eyes were filled with apprehension. Johnny demanded a kiss from his mother when the paramedics came. And he received one. Natalie was rushed to the hospital and put into a coma. She stayed in that state for the following eighteen days. According to the medical examiner, Natalie suffered blunt force injuries, which might have been caused with a club or small baseball bat. The Murder Of Natalie Antonetti True Crime Documentary

Johnny Goudie is a Cuban-American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumental musician, record producer and podcaster based in Austin, Texas. Through his four-decade career, Johnny's musical experiences span the artistic gauntlet and include being the frontman of many bands including Goudie (Elektra Records), the guitarist/keyboardist/backing vocalist for renowned touring acts like Ian Moore & Bodeans, a songwriter working with the likes of Jane Wiedlin, Charlotte Caffey and Kathy Valentine (Go-Go's), a solo artist capable of revealing a previously unseen intimacy, and of course, keyboardist/vocalist for SKYROCKET! In January of 2018, Johnny enlisted the help of his old friend, producer/guitarist, "Scrappy" Jud Newcomb (Slaid Cleaves, Ian McLagan) and recorded four songs for an upcoming e.p. to be released September 13, 2018. In 2011 Johnny took his talents to the world of podcasting and launched “How Did I Get Here?”, an audio segment that takes the form of a casual living room conversation while simultaneously packing the punch of a formal interview. With thousands of subscribers, the show has garnered a worldwide fanbase through Johnny's curiosity and disarming sense of humor. He's hosted renowned guests like Ian McLagan (The Faces, The Rolling Stones), Dwight Twilley, The Bodeans, as well as up and comers like White Denim and Wild Child. What was first an archive of Austin music history is quickly becoming a chronicle of music beyond city limits. http://johnnygoudie.com

Today I am rapping with Johnny Goudie.  He’s a staple in the Austin music scene and has his own podcast called How did I get here.  He’s been in multiple bands including Mr. Rocket baby, Goudie and he now performs under his name.  One thing I did not know about him was that he lived in Mexico.  I sure do love Mexico. We talk about how My Bloody Valentine uses a ton of loops and it’s hard to distinguish if what you are hearing is a guitar or keys.  He describes their sound as a symphony of noise.  We talk about how Tom Petty was on the verge of becoming an amazing songwriter but still had his aggressive youth mannerisms.  I love how he said that the Velvet Underground spent $10 thousand on an album that created 10 thousand bands. Close your eyes. You’re back on that desert island again.  What five records do you have? Until next time. http://johnnygoudie.com/ https://www.instagram.com/johnnygoudie/ https://www.facebook.com/johnny.goudie https://www.facebook.com/johnnygoudiemusic/ https://howdidigethere.podbean.com/ https://open.spotify.com/artist/4L5DsvjigI2zMFIurepHqR   https://www.thebiggunshow.com https://www.facebook.com/thebiggunshowband/ https://www.instagram.com/thebiggunshowband/ https://www.youtube.com/thebiggunshowband

Today I'm eating food with the legendary Johnny Goudie, and we've ordered from two different places, Modern Market and Plow Burgers. Most known for his position in Skyrocket, he's a singer, guitarist, and creator of the world-renowned podcast “How Did I Get Here”, which currently has over 850 episodes. We talk about Johnny's career as a musician and podcaster, and reflect with each other on what it's like making podcasts. The food arrives and we've got some damn delicious chips, and with these and our sandwiches, the conversation is flowing well and we're having a great time. The talk moves on to our food, our experiences with cooking, and suggestions we have for all those wanting to cook at home. It seems like the whole food thing has been made about convenience and price, but it doesn't cost that much more to not eat crap. – Johnny Goudie [robo-gallery id=”2239″] Time Stamps:   02:55 – Where we are getting food from today.  03:08 – Who Johnny is and what he does.  05:00 – How it feels to run a successful podcast.  06:12 – The last show Johnny played.  08:23 – What we think of London and the food there.  10:55 – What it's like recording podcasts live.  12:29 – How to be a better podcaster.  14:53 – Our food arrives… 16:40 – The way restaurants make chips.  18:18 – We start on our sandwiches… 22:34 – Our take on desserts.  28:12 – Johnny's favourite dish to make at home.  29:44 – The fun involved with cooking.  31:28 – The satisfaction involved with serving a person.  36:48 – How they've cooked the steaks.  37:40 – Patrick's favourite food to cook.  41:00 – Where Patrick learnt to cook. 45:23 – Johnny's favourite place to eat meat in Texas. 47:42 – Learning to butcher meat.  49:36 – How fast food has been changing.  55:05 – Pinterest, YouTube chefs, and being a perfectionist.  58:04 – Our rapid fire questions.  Resources: How did I Get Here Podcast  Modern market Plow Burgers www.texasrealfood.com Connect with Johnny Goudie: Instagram Facebook Twitter Website Connect with Patrick Scott Armstrong: Instagram Facebook
