Centre backs that are Right backs Lets look at a familar face to Emery. Someone that rocketed to prominence under him at Villarreal Former Spurs player and World Cup winner Juan Foyth NOTE: There is no link to Foyth nor are we saying this play specifically is a player to sign. We are scouting for traits and types of players. Defensive Ability: Juan Foyth is a disciplined defender who is comfortable playing in a high-pressing system. He is agile and quick, which enables him to close down attackers quickly and make interceptions. Foyth is also physically strong and does not shy away from challenges. He uses his body effectively to shield the ball and is a reliable tackler. Positioning and Awareness: Foyth has a good sense of positional awareness and knows when to push up and when to hold back. He reads the game well and is able to anticipate opposition movements, which helps him intercept passes and block shots. His spatial awareness is excellent, which allows him to cover his teammates effectively and prevent opposition attacks. Technical Ability: Foyth is technically proficient and has good ball control and passing skills. He is comfortable on the ball and is not afraid to take on opposition players. Foyth is also able to deliver accurate crosses and set-pieces from the right flank, which is an important asset for his team. Physical Attributes: Foyth is a physically strong and agile player. He has a good turn of pace and is able to cover ground quickly. He also has good stamina, which allows him to maintain his high intensity throughout the game. Foyth's physical attributes make him an effective player both in attack and defense. Overall, Juan Foyth is an excellent right-back who combines technical ability, positional awareness, and physical attributes to make a positive impact on the game. He is a versatile player who is able to play in multiple positions, which makes him a valuable asset for any team. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

I am joined by Sidarth to talk about things Villarreal. Two episodes in one week!! We'd like to focus on victories for the first and second teams in week one, but the looming cloud of transfers requires our attention too. Which is sad really--why can't the transfer window end BEFORE the season starts? And why do we have to focus so much on how much money everyone is making--can't we just enjoy the Beautiful Game? Well, obviously not. And that was before we heard of Barcelona trying to buy Juan Foyth for some made-up price that they can't pay except in Monopoly money anyway and we have indeed sold Pervis Estupiñan, who is now a Brighton Seagull (my mother's favorite English team, for reasons I won't go into here!!) Anyhow, do enjoy this. We managed to keep it pretty short, for us. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Not much need to beat around the bush here--there's one topic and one topic only, the upcoming second leg at Arsenal. (Well, we do rubbish the penalty decision in the first leg and VAR's non-use in what it was designed for, fair enough). How will Unai Emery set up his squad? Do we go defensive early, or try to get away goals first to put the tie away? And who replaces Juan Foyth and Etienne Capoue in the lineup? Endavant Villarreal! Learn more about your ad choices. This wacky summer tournament schedule is about to come to a close, which means the Wankers wanted to give a preview episode ramping up for Sunday, July 7th. Listen in for all that spilled tea (2:55) between Phil Neville, Alex Morgan, and all the things he found disgraceful, enjoy some semi final recaps for the Women's World Cup (12:20), the Gold Cup (19:40), and Copa America (24:20) before Andrea and Steven give their finals day predictions. And as always, you've got subs if you need 'em.
The guys run another roundtable and discuss the ongoing tortoise race to the Top 4, Liverpool's slim chances at Premier League glory and the future of Ole's Manchester United. Another frustrating Rumour Mill has us wondering if Chris Hughton has an inflated Brighton transfer budget and we examine Spanish players in Player Profile.

Crossing the Thames is a podcast based on the rivalry between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal (the only two worthy North London teams). The hosts, TJ Fittis and Dan Ericson cover the teams in depth each week and take many pops at each other. Yes, we're American. Don't fault us for that - we still love the game. If you're a Spurs or Gunners fan, this is the podcast for you. In this podcast, November 12th, 2018, we chat about Spurs bringing forth Juan Foyth to down Crystal Palace, Arsenal getting bitten by Wolves, and Dan has an existential crisis of the German sort. Are You Lillywhite or Red? Where do you stand? Podcast Notes: https://www.crossingthethames.com/s02-e13-bring-forth-juan-foyth/
