Play Episode Listen Later Feb 12, 2024 3:22

Nottingham Forest captain Joe Worrall was left furious after the closing of the January transfer window, as the player had his heart set on a move to almost relegated rivals Sheffield. However with the Turkish transfer window still being open, there is still a potential exit route for Worrall, but would he be interested in a move abroad? Nottingham Forest #nffc look set to complete their 4th signing of this summer transfer window, with world cup winning right back Gonzalo Montiel heading to Nottingham today to complete his medical and sign his contract.  The deal with #sevilla looks set to be a loan with a obligation to buy for around the £10 million mark, the reason for this could be to bypass FFP rules, as we all know Nottingham Forest have concerns over FFP this summer and pushing the transfer into next year helps balance the books. Montiel is a experienced right back, with champions league games under his belt, and of course good experience on the international level with Argentina. Could the arrival of Montiel see the the departure of Serge Aurier, with reports coming out today that the Saudi League is interested making a bid for the Ivory Coast International, so would you see this as an upgrade in the right back position, or would you be sad to see Aurier leave? Let us know in the comments below. In other news we have to mentioned yet again, Dean Henderson, as #manutd look set to complete the signing of backup keeper, this frees up space for Henderson to be allowed to leave. But with Crystal Palace now leading the race for Hendo, Forest might miss out on their number one goalkeeper target. We do have news of outgoings today aswell, with out of favour midfielder Jonjo Shelvey being linked to Leeds United today. The English midfielder has not featured in Steve Coopers plans this season so far, and a move away looks likely before the transfer window closes. We also have a round up of all the other transfer news today, so let us know your thoughts on todays talking points, plus dont forget to LIKE and SUBSCRIBE to Forest Fan TV!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This felt like a symbolic result after Forest got battered at the King Power Stadium a few months ago, as a measure of how far the Reds have come. Two goals from Brennan Johnson decided the match, the first after VAR intervened on an offside call, and the second from a frankly sexy counter-attack. Rich Ferraro and Baz discuss the game, the injuries and Forest's newfound status as a mid-table Premier League team (but it's still pretty tight down there). We also have honourable mentions for Renan Lodi, Serge Aurier and of course Gibbs-White, Johnson and that man Stevie Cooper. Thanks for listening as always, we'll be back after the Bournemouth game. It felt a little bleak when Forest managed to concede yet another soft goal in the first half, but they came out fighting after the break to really take the game to Chelsea; Morgan Gibbs-White was unlucky with a 20 yard thunderbolt, and the number 10's corner caused havoc in the box, and Serge Aurier took advantage to score his first goal for the club. In the end, Forest were disappointed not to get the win which would have elevated them out of the drop zone. Steven Toplis is joined by a rather hoarse Tom Newton to review the match, in particular the Reds' second half showing, and thinking ahead to the midweek six-pointer against Southampton; we'll be back after the match at St Mary's.
