After dominating most of the game, Aston Villa ran out 3-0 winners at Villa Park this afternoon against relegation threatened Bournemouth. Goals from Douglas Luiz, Jacob Ramsey and Emi Buendia sealed all three points which saw Villa edge ever closer to the top half of the Premier League table.
Douglas Luiz, Jacob Ramsey and Emi Buendia cap a beautiful day at Villa Park as Unai Emery rocks up to what some Bournemouth fans were calling their “playground” and he toyed with them.Matt Cash was brilliant, Leon Bailey even got an assist and Villa got a sight of the top 10 of the Premier League. Some days are good. On the second Clash of the Correspondents ahead of Blank Gameweek 28 James is joined by Aston Villa fan Neil Grover and Bournemouth fan Neil Grover to preview the weekend meeting at Villa Park, all the latest at their clubs and the FPL assets of interest with both clubs playing in the Blank and having a double Gameweek in 29. Villa will appeal particularly this week, should Ollie Watkins be a shoo-in for FPL managers? Whose the best of the Villa defenders to target? (we find out it's complicated!) and what about the prospects for Leon Bailey and Emi Buendia? While Bournemouth shouldn't be overlooked neccessarily either, Philip Billing is on a fine run of form and there's a strong case made for Neto, Dango Outtara and Dominic Solanke who could all offer solutions, particularly for those looking to Bench Boost in GW29. Plus, can Villa make a late run for a European spot and Bournemouth will believe with their remaining fixtures (they only play one of the top 8 between now and the end of the season) that they can prove the doubters wrong and beat the drop... Emi Buendia v Danny Ings had nothing to do with football but it was symptomatic of Villa's approach to defending corners. Emi Martinez had an un-Martinez like game and Callum Chambers was thrown into midfield again. A lot of fun in today's podcast, even from that game! It goes from bad to worse for Everton, as Lucas Digne made an immediate impact on his return to Goodison Park, providing the assist to Emi Buendia's winner. While Aakarsh was not around to rant about his beloved Toffees, Amogh was full of glee at Man United's back to back victories over Brentford and West Ham! Against all odds, United now find themselves in 4th spot. Who would have thunk it? After the Brentford victory, Bees manager Thomas Frank was not too pleased, maybe his mercury is in retrograde! Meanwhile Watford slumped to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Norwich, which also gave us a goal of the season contender in Josh Sargent's scorpion kick. This result takes Norwich OUT OF THE RELEGATION ZONE! But this also means Ranieri's position as manager of Watford is under threat. (UPDATE: Ranieri was sacked 30 minutes after we finished recording. What ya, Watford.) We also talk about the Indian Womens Football Team and their abrupt end to the AFC Womens Asian Cup, thanks to a COVID outbreak in the camp. The transfer window has shut after a summer where numerous new players joined Aston Villa and one major name left. Although Villa lost their talisman Jack Grealish to Man City, they invested heavily in the attacking areas, with the likes Emi Buendia, Leon Bailey and Danny Ings joining for big fees. Both Axel Tuanzebe and the versatile Ashley Young rejoined Villa, too.The question now is whether Villa have done enough? What is the overall aim for this season? Did the club miss out by not signing another CDM, or does it provide the likes of Carney Chukwuemeka and Jacob Ramsey more room to grow as players? We're joined by Holtecast contributor and lifelong Villa fan, Tom Nightingale, to talk over this summer's transfers and what Villa can now aim for going forward.GET IN TOUCHTwitter: @VillaNoFillerInstagram: @allvillanofillerFacebook: All Villa No FillerEmail: allvillanofiller@gmail.com See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

We talk about the improvement in transfer activity, early season frustration, Norwich with and without Emi Buendia & this potentially being the best team the Championship has seen.
We are back to discuss if Norwich City can keep Emi Buendia this summer after Arsenal step up their interest in football heaven.
The Athletic's Norwich City reporter, Michael Bailey, is in equal parts jubilant and exhausted as he's joined by Steve Sanders and Dan Brigham to celebrate the club's second Championship title. There was also a rich haul at the season's EFL awards, with individual honours for Emi Buendia and Daniel Farke which some might consider overdue. And there's plenty more besides, including the panel's views on the social media boycott and some thoughts about next season. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
