Danny kicks this one off by delivering the most impassioned breakdown of his career covering Bayern Munich while sick with a cold. Call it his flu game. Bayern Munich beat an in-form FC Augsburg 3-1 in a fun Bundesliga battle under the Friday night lights. But at what cost? Bayern Munich lost Jamal Musiala for the season with a hamstring tear, adding to the list of crucial players who are injured. It looks like Bayern will be desperate for the services of cast aside club LEGEND Thomas Muller after all. Don't worry, Danny sheds some light on this situation as well with his thoughts on how bad of a look it is for Bayern. Back to the match, we offer a full breakdown of Vincent Kompany's lineup, tactics, player performances, all of the match highlights, and even match awards for the key players. Jamal Musiala scored the first goal for Bayern Munich before getting hurt with a nice turnaround shot when Leroy Sane found him with a beautiful ball into the box. Harry Kane drew a second yellow card on a risky challenge from Zesiger sending Augsburg down to ten men before scoring the go ahead goal with a perfect assist from Michael Olise. The final goal of the match was awarded as a goal to Leroy Sane before being changed to an own goal for Matisma on Augsburg. Danny closes things off by looking ahead to the Champions League Quarter Final showdown with Inter as well as Der Klassiker with Dortmund in the Bundesliga. Lots of fun & difficult matches coming up without key injured players. Jim comes through by breaking down Chelsea's fun and exciting 1-0 over Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premiere League. Enzo Fernandez scored the only goal of the this rollercoaster match assisted by Cole Palmer. Jim reviews Enzo Maresca's lineup, tactics, all of the match highlights, and individual player performances. Jim provides an update on Chelsea's season as whole and how he feels about it as well as where they stand in the EPL table and the UEFA Conference League going forward. Chelsea players Brentford next in the EPL and then faces off against Legia in the Conference League Quarter Finals. Subscribe to the YouTube channel to stay updated! Hello Rank Squad! On Monday news broke that Trent Alexander-Arnold's move to Real Madrid this summer was close to being completed, with the Liverpool defender seemingly leaving his boyhood club for free at the expiration of his contract this summer, and it got us thinking - who else is in the same category of being on the open market this summer and where could they go?We start with a discussion of the three Liverpool names that have been in the spotlight all season - Trent, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah - taking a look at who is perhaps most expendable, who is least replaceable, and what we think might play out, especially with Salah and VVD, as well as taking a brief look at some potential replacements. Then it's on to some other names - we discuss the futures of Angel Gomes, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Leroy Sane, Jonathan David, and young Swedish talent Roony Bardghji - and where they all might be plying their trades next season given the expiration of their current deals at their current homes. Jack finishes us off with a few more names to keep an eye on as the deadlines for extensions get closer and closer - Andre Franck Zambo Anguissa of Napoli, Marco Verratti of Al-Arabi - who is being linked with a move back to Europe - Sergio Reguilon of Tottenham Hotspur, and Espanyol captain Javi Puado. It's Ranks! And remember, if you'd like more from the Rank Squad, including extra podcasts every Monday and Friday (including our weekly Postbox taking a look at the whole weekend of football) and access to our brilliant Discord community, then why not join us here on Patreon?

Thanks for riding with us as we got things started in 2024 and we can't wait to bring a whole lot more to you in 2025. We introduce things in this one by getting you caught up to speed on the goings ons of late in the worlds of both Bayern Munich and Chelsea. Check out Danny's State of the Season Address Winter Pause episode on YouTube to get caught up with the entirety of the first of the season for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, DFB Pokal, and Champions League. Next, Danny breaks down both of Chelsea's recent hiccups in the English Premiere League in their 1-2 loss to Fulham and their 0-2 loss to Ipswich town. He reviews both of these matches including all of the match highlights, the highs and the lows, lineups, tactics, and player performances. It's hard to give out match awards for these two when Chelsea didn't look particularly strong anywhere on the pitch. Cole Palmer scored the only Chelsea goal in these two matches assisted by Levi Colwill. Jim jumps in to provide his overall thoughts on the Chelsea performances and what this means for them going forward and into the January transfer window. He highlights how he feels about individual players as well as the manager Enzo Maresca. Jim previews the next match against Crystal Palace and provides some wise words to Chelsea fans everywhere. Danny jumps back in to close things out by discussing the recent winter news in Bavaria as Bayern Munich has multiple massive contract deals looming. Danny looks at all the major deals Vincent Kompany and the Bayern bosses need to make some progress on soon. This includes a break down of the current situations for key players like Jamal Musiala, Joshua Kimmich, Alphonso Davies, Leroy Sane, Manuel Neuer, and Thomas Muller. Happy Holidays from the Always Bayern Chelsea crew! Welcome to the IMPROVED Always Bayern Chelsea show complete with introduction music for the first team ever. (As long as we can clear that copyright). This is a big one, Bayern winning in the Bundesliga, and Chelsea winning/drawing the UEFA Conference League/English Premiere League. We kick things off by talking about Bayern Munich's potentially best performance of the season in their final match of the hinrunde in their massive 5-1 win over RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga on 12/19. We take a moment to mention the tragedy that occurred as the match was playing out in Germany at the Magdeburg Christmas Market. And as usual look at lineups, coaching tactics, individual player performances, and all the match highlights before handing out our match awards. Jamal Musiala, Konrad Laimer, Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sane, and Alphonso Davies all scored for Bayern Munich while Michael Olise, Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, and Joshua Kimmich all provided assists. Benjamin Sesko scored Leipzigs only goal assisted by Lois Openda. What's next for Bayern Munich heading into the winter pause before the next match against M'gladbach? There's lots of contract situations on-going as well as players that need to get healthy. We certainly won't be taking a pause this winter. We move over to Chelsea to discuss both the 5-1 victory over Shamrock Rovers in the Conference League on 12/19 as well as the draw verus Everton in the EPL on 12/22. As always we review lineups, tactics, key moments in the matches, and big player performances. And of course deciding on match awards to dole out. In Chelsea's major Conference League win they had a hat trick from Marc Guiu as well as goals from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Marc Cucurella with assists from Christopher Nkunku and Noni Madueke. Their frustrating effort against Everton was goal-less but Robert Sanchez provided multiple impressive and important saves to salvage a point for Chelsea. There's no winter break over in England and Chelsea now plays against Fulham this week on 12/26. ABC has plenty in store for you under the tree this holiday season. Videos, comprehensive hinrunde reviews, Bundesliga reviews, and a preview of what's to come for a very special event happening this summer over in Cincinnati if you care to wager a guess. Welcome to the Always Bayern Chelsea program. In this addition of the show we breakdown the weekend matches. In the Bundesliga Bayern Munich lost to Mainz 1-2 and in the English Premiere League Chelsea beat Brentford 2-1. We start things off by looking at Bayern Munich's lackluster 1-2 defeat on the road to Mainz 05. Mainz came with a better energy and a great pressing plan. We look at all the tactics, lineups, match highlights, lowlights, and individual player performances. Leroy Sane scored the lone goal for Bayern. It was tough to consider match awards for this one as everyone looked groggy & there were no standout performances, we were just able to highlight a couple individuals for this one. Vincent Kompany and Bayern looks now to get healthy and to close the hinrunde strong against top team RB Leipzig. Chelsea had a more pleasant day at the office beating Brentford 2-1 in the EPL. We review this match including lineups, coaching tactics, individual player performances, and match highlights. Marc Cucurella and Nicolas Jackson scored for the blue with Noni Madueke and Enzo Fernandez bagging assists. This one was also difficult to include match awards for as everyone on Chelsea did their job to secure these three points and there weren't any standout performances. Once again we highlight some key players. Enzo Maresca's system is humming as Chelsea finds themselves closing in on Liverpool and sitting firmly at second place in the table. Next up is Shamrock Rovers in the conference league and Everton in the EPL. Stay tuned. Subscribe to the YouTube channel for more! Thanks for listening. Welcome to the Always Bayern Chelsea show for another episode breaking down the two midweek European matches. Bayern beat Shakhtar 5-1 in the Champions League and Chelsea beat Astana 3-1 in the Conference League. We kick off this episode by discussing Bayern Munich's comprehensive UCL victory over Shakhtar Donetsk 5-1. We break down lineups, coaching tactics, individual player performances, and all of the key moments of the match. Things looked dicey for Bayern early with the Ukrainian side scoring the opening goal of the match. Bayern answered quickly with a goal from Konrad Laimer assisted by Michael Olise. Thomas Muller scored right before halftime assisted by Jamal Musiala off of a steal from Leroy Sane. Michael Olise scored 2 more goals and Jamal Musiala got his goal as well. We hand out our match awards for this one and we close out our Bayern Munich discussion by looking at where they go from hear and how Vincent Kompany will deal with their injury crisis. Next up for the Bavarians is Mainz in the Bundesliga. We turn things over to Chelsea by breaking down their nice 3-1 victory over Astana in the UEFA Conference League. We break down the tactics, lineups, scoring and key moments, as well as individual player performances before handing out match awards. Enzo Maresca's system continues to work with a mixture of B squad & academy players plus Pedro Neto who got an assist in this outing. Marc Guiu had a goal or two and Renato Veiga scored off of a corner assisted by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Chelsea now looks ahead to Brentford in the English Premiere League. Welcome to the Always Bayern Chelsea show for the 53rd installment of the program. In this one we discuss the weekend goal-fests including Bayern Munich's 4-2 victory over Heidenheim in the Bundesliga as well as Chelsea's 4-3 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premiere League. Kicking things off with Bayern's bizarre 4-2 win we break down lineups, coaching tactics, match highlights, individual player performances for this match. Scoring was opened up by Dayot Upamecano off of a corner from Joshua Kimmich. Jamal Musiala came in the second half and scored two goals, assisted by Michael Olise and Raphael Guerreiro. Leon Goretzka also got a goal in this one assisted by Leroy Sane. We end this discussing by handing out match awards, and looking at where Bayern Munich goes from here with all of their new injuries as they head off to face Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League midweek. Chelsea had another exciting match this weekend beating Spurs 4-3. We look at all the rollercoaster match highlights, lineups, tactics, and individual player performances in this one as well. Chelsea overcame an early 2 goal deficit with goals from Jadon Sancho, Cole Palmer, and Enzo Fernandez. We saw Marc Cucurella, at fault for both of the early spurs goals, get an assist in this one. We review Chelsea's hot form, moments of the match, and even break into song and a lively discussion on Christmas movies before looking at how Chelsea will look to continue their brilliant form with a midweek UEFA Conference League match against Astana and another Premiere League showdown with Brentford on the horizon.

Next, we preview Bayern's next match on 11/9/24 in the Bundesliga against St. Pauli and their overall upcoming schedule. We turn over to Chelsea to talk about their massive 8-0 crushing of FC Noah in the UEFA Conference League. Jim goes as far as to revisit ancient biblical scripture and provide updates including a match with this level of domination. As always we review key match moments, tactics, individual player performances, and give out our match awards. In this one we saw goals from Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Axel Disasi, Joao Felix, Mykhaylo Mudryk, and Christopher Nkunku. Assists can from Enzo Fernandez, Nkunku, and Disasi. Bro.... What else is there to day? Manchester United have finally imploded. It is done. Erik Ten (Seven) Hag is a dead man walking and United are finally hitting rock bottom. They are a club in massive debt, trying to rebuild their insanely disgusting old stadium and here we are at another crossroads - another manager sacking that is just around the corner. With Porto and Aston Villa this week, its another possible two losses for this trash heap of a club heading into the international break. Who will be manager when play resumes? Is that really going to solve the problem? (The answer is NO) - and what about the terrible players of which the roster consists? World class names with no heart, passion, or desire. You are witnessing Rome burn, and believe me, at Beckham's Basement, we are enjoying every minute of this content creator's paradise!(TIM... the BASEMENT answers your request for an American player update!!)Oh, Bayer and Leverkusen also played a match over the weekend!!Real Madrid and Atleti split, Barca lose, finally, PSG and Monaco still top France and Serie A was business as usual. Come in and join the boys for another Basement session from David's Mom's house and enjoy the ride through football nirvana!

Hello Rank Squad!Champions League Takeaway is back to take a look at the first legs of the UCL Quarter Finals, which took place across both Tuesday and Wednesday nights. We start with Wednesday's action, looking at Barcelona's topsy-turvy win over PSG - discussing how both managers were able to influence the game with their substitutions, the strange nature of PSG's struggle at defending set pieces, and Barça's excellent mix of youth and experience starting to shine; as well as Atletico Madrid's 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund - talking Atleti's early intensity and how they rattled their visitors, the defensive mistakes that allowed the hosts to launch themselves into the lead, and how both Antoine Griezmann and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens impacted the game. Then in Part Two, we take a look at Tuesday – looking at Arsenal and Bayern's 2-2 draw at the Emirates through the lens of the two penalty shouts, Leroy Sane's impact in a counter-attacking team, and the experience of this Bayern unit allowing them to play in different ways at this stage of the competition; before finishing with a discussion of Real Madrid and Manchester's City's latest bout - a 3-3 classic at the Santiago Bernabeu - via talk of Rodrygo shining on the left hand side of this Real Madrid attack, Rodri's ridiculous run of games unbeaten in a City shirt, and why games like this are just how it should be. It's Ranks! And remember, if you'd like more from the Rank Squad, including extra podcasts every Monday and Friday (including our weekly Postbox taking a look at the whole weekend of football) and access to our brilliant Discord community, then why not join us here on Patreon?
On this week's main show Manu and Stefan mull over Germany's impressive 2-0 victory over France. Ahead of Tuesday's clash against the Netherlands, they discuss the heroic return of Toni Kroos, why Germany's new-look defence look so strong and whether Leroy Sane can even play his way back into Julian Nagelsmann's start-studded starting XI.
Bayern Munich got back on the winning track with a big victory over RB Leipzig, but — as always — there is plenty more going on at the club to talk about. Why waste any more time? Let's get down to it! Here is what is on tap for this week's episode: Some exciting news about the future of Bavarian Podcast Works. Some final thoughts on the weekend win over RB Leipzig — and how fans are (rightly) struggling with whether to be optimistic or realistic about where all this is going. The arrival of Max Eberl should propel Bayern Munich into its next generation — but could end up leaving some players and club staffer behind. What should we make of Leroy Sane's current struggles — and should Bayern Munich have reservations about re-upping his deal.
Bayern Munich is reeling, fans are angry, players are confused, and the coaches, well, the ship seems to have sailed on their messaging breaking through to this groups (much to their own fault). So...yeah, the discussion points are there, so why waste any more time. Let's get to it; Bayern Munich is in a rut and there is no easy way out given the current situation. Has Thomas Tuchel lost the team? He might have if that recent quote is true! There is no way that Thomas Tuchel is coaching Bayern Munich next season is there? If not, FC Barcelona has some culpability in how this all plays out. The board has culpability with Tuchel's handling of Matthijs de Ligt. What is going on with Leroy Sane and why no one should really be shocked. Can Bayer Leverkusen Florian Wirtz or AC Milan's Theo Hernandez change things for the lineup? Will the roster be headed for a massive overhaul next season?
