Who would've thought that all eyes would be on Tallahassee for a ranked matchup of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons as they take on our Florida State Seminoles in Tallahassee to determine a possible ACC conference championship favorite. Well, your friends here at Locked On Seminoles, your favorite daily Florida State Seminoles sports podcast are here with a game preview. Today, Know Your Foe is back this week and our old friend Cam Lemons Debro of 247 sports and the unofficially official head of Tailgating at Wake Forest is here to sit down with Drake to help us learn what makes the Demon Deacons tick. What are expectations for Wake Forest fans now that Dave Clawson has lead them to consistent sustained success? What is this long mesh that has terrorized ACC defenses over the past few years and how can we contain it? What has it been like to see Sam Hartman truly grow up and develop into one of the most dangerous and efficient passing quarterbacks in the entire country's? When it comes to FSU, Cam states how the much improved passing ability of Florida State Seminoles starting QB Jordan Travis has exceeded all other expectations, how the new wide receiver corps of Johnny Wilson and Mycah Pittman have vaulted this offense to new heights and how the defensive line of FSU needs to win at the point of attack in order to stifle this Demon Deacon juggernaut. Happy Monday... Welcome in to Noles News Now, your audio home for all things Florida State sports on the Tomahawk Nation podcast network. I'm your host Brian Pellerin. Getting you caught up on the weekend that was for FSU athletics. The biggest headline for you, it's the final non game week Monday of the offseason. Next Monday will be the beggining of game week for the Seminoles week zero matchup with Duquesne. Football really just more than a week away in Tallahassee. Part of that work towards opening day has been their identity week with a trip to UNF for some camp away from home. That led into their second scrimmage of the fall this weekend and again, most of the feedback from the coaches has been positive. He said he's proud of the team's passion and competitiveness through the scrimmage. The Noles also starting to find the playmakers in the passing game with Johnny Wilson, Mycah Pittman, Duece Spann and Malik McClain standing out this weekend. Norvell did mention the team has some procedural things to clean up -- namely penalties -- before the season gets started. He says the focus heading into this week is simple... continuing getting better. For some more camp notes and a look at the biggest questions of the 2022 season, check out this week's Seminole Wrap podcast available now wherever you hear this podcast. It's our final preseason episode before we go into game preview and recap episodes next week. Elsewhere on campus, the Florida State soccer team held its final scrimmage of the fall. The ladies get their season started on Thursday as they travel to South Carolina for the opener. That game is the first of four straight to start the year against SEC opponents over the next two weeks. Three of those on the road. The South Carolina matchup is set to air on SEC Network at 7pm this Thursday if you'd like to watch. if you want to see the squad in person, they'll return to Tally on August 25th to take on Auburn in the home opener. And finally, volleyball is heading into their first game week if you will this week. The Noles play their Garnet and Gold exhibition on Friday. They'll officially start the season next Friday in Cincinnati with three games in as many days against Illinois State, Dayton and Cincy. That'll do it for this week's episode of Noles News Now. For this episode, I sent it to Brooklyn to record with Genesis and play a couple hours of smash!Genny's early YouTube videos, Lurknyc parts, and tricks in Johnny Wilson edits had such a huge influence on me coming up in skating. In high school, pre-917, Genny's videos and personal skating showed me that skateboarding is truly about having fun with your friends and doing what comes natural!Upon arriving to him and Caleb's home, I gained a profound new appreciation of Genesis's creative world. I walked into a house full of music, plushies, in-progress paintings, Caleb at their table recording a song, and their friend Marcus cutting out and sewing letters onto a polo. I quickly learned that skating is just one of many tools in Genny's bag!He said something that has since stuck with me because it was a feeling I've had, but I've never quite put into words.  As a kid, he thought that art/music were things someone was naturally good at and that it was like a superpower; you either had it or you didn't. He noted that this ideology is one that deters people from trying new things. However, sometimes you suck at new things but that doesn't mean you should stop or that you can't be great at it!We speak in-depth about Genny's love/ear for music, deep musical roots, Blair, and venturing out into a solo career as genny!. This episode coincides with his first solo album release 8 SONGS, as Genny spoke at length about his creative process and work for this album. Go check that out!!! Oh and, as always, hope y'all enjoy :)

TALLAHASSEE, FL- The Florida State Seminoles are starting fall camp with just one month until the season begins at home and they still have a lot to figure out along the offensive roster. At quarterback, Jordan Travis is the guy for Mike Norvell and his staff, and for the first time, he is the unquestioned starter. He has taken that confidence that he has developed from last season and will look to carry that into the fall. With the running backs, the ‘Noles have a potential new lead back with Trey Benson supported by Treshaun Ward similar to how Ward supported Jashaun Corbin last year. Also, how will Toafili fit in along with the rest of the room? On the perimeter, this team has looked to the transfer portal to add guys like Mycah Pittman, Winston Wright, and Johnny Wilson along with players who have been in house like Malik McClain, Ontaria Wilson, and others that will make big contributions. This regime has struggled to produce at the wide receiver position but with Jordan Travis getting better every year he should be able to support them even better. Along the offensive line, the team brings back four of five starting players along with four potential contributors coming from the transfer portal. The team should be in a better place and be able to deal with anything that happens in season. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

The Florida State Seminoles have suffered yet another QB decommitment. After Sam Howell, Luke Altmeyer, Nicco Marchiol, and others, the Noles were hoping to not get hurt again. Unfortunately, four-star QB recruit Chris Parson made the FSU faithful's fears a reality. Chris Parson had expressed to staff that he wanted to be the only quarterback on Mike Norvell and Co's recruiting board and was unhappy when offers were extended to Brock Glenn and Ricky Collins. The coaches felt that one QB couldn't fill their need for depth in the position group and the partnership between Parson and FSU failed to launch. Fortunately, this news comes in the same week as top 150 prospect, four-star offensive tackle, Lucas Simmons announced his commitment to Florida State. Lucas is a hulking 6'7, 300lb big man with a unique brand of athleticism developed by him growing up in Europe. The son of Able Simmons, former University of Oklahoma offensive lineman, Lucas is a huge addition for the 2023 and another feather in the cap of Offensive Line Coach Alex Atkins. Coach Atkins continues to transform the OL room from FSU's greatest liability to a legitimate strength of the program. Finally, Max is joined by new correspondent Hunter Steele to discuss Lucas Simmons, Johnny Wilson and the rest of the wide receiver room, and give his impression from campus of how winning on the field can swing recruiting moment. There is a lot of unfamiliarity and uncertainty facing the Arizona State Sun Devils football program and that is especially true for the team's passing offense. Gone are wide receivers Ricky Pearsall, LV Bunkley-Shelton, and Johnny Wilson via the NCAA transfer portal, as well as running back Rachad White and tight end Curtis Hodges, both of whom had big roles in the team's passing offense in 2021, via the 2022 NFL Draft. Returning are Bryan Thompson and Andre Johnson as the Arizona State Sun Devils' most established wide receivers, although the two combined for just 25 receptions a season ago. While we are optimistic about the two taking a step forward in 2022, our eyes are fixated on incoming transfer wide receiver Cam Johnson from the Vanderbilt Commodores football program. Johnson has shown the ability to be a crafty and elusive receiver when the ball is in his hands and has the sure-hands necessary to be a go-to option in any team's passing game. Johnson may be a breath of fresh air that the Arizona State Sun Devils football program is desperate for and could perhaps prove to be the team's number one receiver in 2022. Host Richie Bradshaw breaks down the fifth-year receiver and gives stat predictions for the former SEC wide receiver in his first season with the Arizona State Sun Devils. Amazing selection. The Arizona State Sun Devils football program will be facing a massive overhaul at its wide receiver spot following the transfers of Ricky Pearsall, LV Bunkley-Shelton, and Johnny Wilson. The position is also devoid of proven, established starters, although the upside of some guys like Andre Johnson and Bryan Thompson is certainly appealing. However, there may be some hope for a true number one receiver in the former of former Vanderbilt Commodores wide receiver and incoming transfer Camron Johnson. Johnson sat down with Locked On Sun Devils host Richie Bradshaw and talked about his time before Arizona State University including his high school days plus his time spent with the Vanderbilt Commodores football program. Johnson also details why he chose the Arizona State Sun Devils football program over some other suitors and has nothing but glowing things to say about his new teammates, including his potential quarterbacks and former SEC players Emory Jones and Paul Tyson. Regardless of who may be throwing Cam Johnson the rock this season, the senior wideout expressed nothing but confidence and determination in his sit-down interview with us. The Seminoles are in the thick of recruiting season and tension is building towards who the future is for Mike Norvell at QB. But currently, that future is in question as it seems less likely that they will retain 2023 QB Chris Parson. They have also offered two other QBs for the 2023 class with Brock Glenn and Purdue commit Rickie Collins, they need to land at least one of the three and seemingly hope to bring in two. Beyond that, the Seminoles have made great strides along the offensive line with all the talent that OC/OL Coach Alex Atkins is bringing in. This team had 21 different offensive line combinations in 2021 and has done all that they can to make sure they have improved the line. Atkins helped bring in five offensive linemen to the 2022 class (more than any other position) along with four potential contributing linemen via the portal with Bless Harris, Dmitri Emmanuel, Kayden Lyles, and Jazston Turnetine. They have also tried to fix the lack of talent at the receiver position with impact transfers like Mycah Pittman, Johnny Wilson, and Winston Wright. But the question is will this talent be enough in a pivotal 2022 season for Mike Norvell? Norvell has been a good X's and O's coach without the results and given the pressure he is under for 2022, no matter the bad luck they may face it seems this is a tipping point for Mike Norvell's tenure at Florida State... The Florida State Seminoles played their spring game and practiced in 15 open practices, our staff gathered what they saw and put together a depth chart based on their observations, you can read that original article here on Tomahawk Nation. Initially looking at the QB position Jordan Travis is the no-doubt starter for the Garnet and Gold unlike last year and he has really taken command of the QB1 role, especially as a leader. Competing for the backup spot are true freshman AJ Duffy and redshirt sophomore Tate Rodemaker. While Duffy is the more talented player he is still learning the offense and getting acclimated to being a college athlete so they leaned on Rodemaker's experience at practice, but how much longer will that continue? In the running back room, the ‘Noles have been able to replace their lead back Jashaun Corbin with Trey Benson a transfer from Oregon. He showed out in the spring game and proved he deserves starter reps. But we also know that Mike Norvell does not just involve one back in his week-to-week game plan and Treshaun Ward will be in that similar support role that he played so well last year. In the wide receiver room, the FSU staff has been able to bring in new players like Mycah Pittman and Johnny Wilson. Pittman will be in line to get the main target share as well as second-year receiver Malik McClain. Going forward they will need more help the team has some in-house players that will get the opportunity to prove themselves as well like Ja'Khi Douglas, Ontaria Wilson and Josh Burrell. First he discusses which position groups we are likely to see leave college early on a less frequent basis with free agents being guaranteed only a signing bonus and NIL being a factor. Then, Max ranks our position groups on both offense and defense. He talks about his concerns at wide receiver and his confidence in the interior defensive line and defensive secondary. Next, Max talks the issue du jour of if FSU will land another offensive line transfer before discussing the possibility that wide receiver Johnny Wilson could change positions and play tight end. Finally, Max talks about what he wants to see less of in Mike Norvell's offense next year as the team improves. Thank you, as always, for making Locked On Seminoles your first listen. Florida State has a big problem. Despite an influx of talent into the wide receiver room, no one has cemented themselves in the WR 1 position. FSU needs Malik McClain or Johnny Wilson to fill the need or the coaching staff may have to continue scouring the transfer portal. Max and Dave kick off your Wednesday morning by discussing the top 3 in their respective wide receiver power rankings following the conclusion of spring practice and the Garnet & Gold Game. Max favors the smaller receivers while Dave explains why he hasn't lost confidence in the roster's current big men. After ranking the wide recievers on the roster, the guys discuss which positions they think Mike Norvell and Co need to supplement using the transfer portal. Do they need another pass catcher or should they prioritize the defensive side of the ball? Is finding a reliable backup QB even a possibility at this point and will AJ Duffy be ready for action in the fall if needed? Finally, the hosts give their thoughts on the coaching staff as things stand. Things could change but Max explains why he is laying off Ron Dugans for a bit but needs to see more from Tight Ends Coach Chris Thompsen's.
