I can't seem to get it right. I down Teo bottles of cough syrup, 4 an1/2 pints of lager beer, two whiskey. 7 sodas and the only thing she cares about is whatever who whoever is right there! Directly right in front of her....face.... -starts French kissing an imaginary person on front of him- "JAMES!" I cried. Roots to Grooves

Originally born in Jamaica, and relocating to Virginia USA at the age of 8, Masego is a multi-talented solo artist, saxophonist and music producer who has coined his own genre, "Trap-House-Jazz".Masego is the stage name of "Micah Davis" who, by all accounts, grew up in a traditional and religious household. He was however surrounded by music growing up. At home his bedroom was also the place where his parents kept their large collection of vinyl records which included everything from Stevie Wonder to Cab Calloway. At Church, Masego was exposed to Gospel music and declared drums as the first instrument he gravitated to.As a teenager, via his friends in high-school, Masego would be exposed to Hip Hop music for the first time, and became a fan of artists such as Andre 3000. It was around this time that he started taking music more seriously, jamming with other musicians and starting to make his own beats.Today Masego is a rising R&B artist with impressive collaborations under his belt, such as the track "Champagne Poetry" with Drake.Join Jay and Jesse as they take a deep dive into Masego's work, and discuss the inspirational themes that come up."Roots to Grooves" is a production of SIGNL.https://www.signlradio.comhttps://www.instagram.com/signlradiohttps://www.twitter.com/signlradiohttps://www.facebook.com/signlradiohttps://www.mixcloud.com/signlhttps://open.spotify.com/user/96mhz6qfjoztxbl2dpm0uj903?si=aAZpsoEnRAKdx85kr1QWhg

After posting a not-so-pleasent tweet about the current leader of the free world, Busby was given a 7-day sentence in #TwitterJail, forcing him to observe a wild week in the culture from the sideline. With J.C. being granted a monitored visit, Busby gets caught up on all the current events, including the tragic passing of Mac Miller, followed by Post Malone continuing to cheat death for the past few weeks. The discussion later turns to uncontrollable smoke, as they go over Joe Budden's response to Eminem, Cardi B vs. Nicki Minaj finally manifesting itself, Drake continuing to go after Kanye while making peace with Meek Mill, and George Zimmerman threatening The Carters. Highlights from the world of sports include Kickoff week in the NFL, Nike being air-time for their Kaepernick led commercial during Thursday Night Football, and Serena Williams demanding her respect (and an apology). Other topics include the season finale of “Power,” John Legend becoming legendary, the difference between a mixtape and album, NBA YoungBoy's recent revelation and much more! Reviews for the week include BET's Bobby Brown biopic, Masego's “Lady Lady,” April + Vista's “You Are Here,” Jazz Cartier's “Fleurever,” K. Roosevelt's self-titled album, and K. Forset's “Forest Fire II.”

**Hark! It's an 87th Precinct Podcast bonus episode!** FULL DISCLOSURE - we suffered our first ever real technical problem during the recording of this episode, so part way through there's a brief music-snippet to paste over the join. We do 'fess up to it and we didn't lose too much, so it's all okay! In our follow-up to the main podcast episode, we finally reveal the details about Stevo's idea for the show "Criminals and Little and Large"! With amazing skill, Morgan manages to tie our chatter about 1980s/90s British comedy Double Acts back into the world of Police Procedurals, so all's well that ends well. We have a good bout of Book Huffing and explore the peculiar differences between two seemingly identical editions of Lady, Lady, I Did It! and throw in a bit of detail about the history of Bar Codes and the sorts of things that can crop up if you're not careful with your internet searches. Join us again soon for the next book in the series, "The Empty Hours" (1962) and some other Hunter/McBain items! Please remember to rate, review, and share wherever you can. Thanks for your support!

Listen whilst Paul relates some communication from Hunter's literary agent Jane Gelfman (thanks, Jane!) and try not to get fed up with us as we mention the Carry On... films yet again.
