1 And on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalen cometh early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre; and she saw the stone taken away from the sepulchre. 2 She ran, therefore, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and saith to them: They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him. 3 Peter therefore went out, and that other disciple, and they came to the sepulchre. 4 And they both ran together, and that other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre. 5 And when he stooped down, he saw the linen cloths lying; but yet he went not in.Et cum se inclinasset, vidit posita linteamina : non tamen introivit. 6 Then cometh Simon Peter, following him, and went into the sepulchre, and saw the linen cloths lying,Venit ergo Simon Petrus sequens eum, et introivit in monumentum, et vidit linteamina posita, 7 And the napkin that had been about his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but apart, wrapped up into one place.et sudarium, quod fuerat super caput ejus, non cum linteaminibus positum, sed separatim involutum in unum locum. 8 Then that other disciple also went in, who came first to the sepulchre: and he saw, and believed.Tunc ergo introivit et ille discipulus qui venerat primus ad monumentum : et vidit, et credidit : 9 For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.nondum enim sciebant Scripturam, quia oportebat eum a mortuis resurgere.

1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalen, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought sweet spices, that coming, they might anoint Jesus. 2 And very early in the morning, the first day of the week, they come to the sepulchre, the sun being now risen. 3 And they said one to another: Who shall roll us back the stone from the door of the sepulchre? 4 And looking, they saw the stone rolled back. For it was very great.Et respicientes viderunt revolutum lapidem. Erat quippe magnus valde. 5 And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed with a white robe: and they were astonished.Et introeuntes in monumentum viderunt juvenem sedentem in dextris, coopertum stola candida, et obstupuerunt. 6 Who saith to them: Be not affrighted; you seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified: he is risen, he is not here, behold the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee; there you shall see him, as he told you.Sed ite, dicite discipulis ejus, et Petro, quia praecedit vos in Galilaeam : ibi eum videbitis, sicut dixit vobis
1 And in the end of the sabbath, when it began to dawn towards the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalen and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre. 2 And behold there was a great earthquake. For an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and coming, rolled back the stone, and sat upon it.Et ecce terraemotus factus est magnus. Angelus enim Domini descendit de caelo : et accedens revolvit lapidem, et sedebat super eum : 3 And his countenance was as lightning, and his raiment as snow.erat autem aspectus ejus sicut fulgur : et vestimentum ejus sicut nix. 4 And for fear of him, the guards were struck with terror, and became as dead men. 5 And the angel answering, said to the women: Fear not you; for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here, for he is risen, as he said. Come, and see the place where the Lord was laid. 7 And going quickly, tell ye his disciples that he is risen: and behold he will go before you into Galilee; there you shall see him. Lo, I have foretold it to you.Et cito euntes, dicite discipulis ejus quia surrexit : et ecce praecedit vos in Galilaeam : ibi eum videbitis : ecce praedixi vobis.

This is where we explore the depths of conscious living and what it truly means to live an expanded life. Join us to be inspired, encouraged, transformed and to tap into a deeper sense of joy and possibility. In conversation after conversation that I have with clients, friends, and colleagues, there is a more unsettledness with the state of the world than I can ever remember. People are alternately angry and fearful and, often accompanied by a deep breath, stating a commitment to walking the path of love. What does that mean? I deeply respect my guest today and have invited her to bring forward ancient teachings to show us what is possible today. Her research into the life and legacy of Mary Magdalene has appeared on shows in the US and abroad.Kathleen is currently compiling thirty years and several thousand pages of research into her forthcoming books on Mary Magdalene's life in France and how this one woman changed the face of the Western World.

25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus, his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalen. 26 When Jesus therefore had seen his mother and the disciple standing whom he loved, he saith to his mother: Woman, behold thy son.Cum vidisset ergo Jesus matrem, et discipulum stantem, quem diligebat, dicit matri suae : Mulier, ecce filius tuus. 27 After that, he saith to the disciple: Behold thy mother. And from that hour, the disciple took her to his own.Deinde dicit discipulo : Ecce mater tua. Jesus said to John, who personified all Christians: "Behold thy Mother."

38 Now it came to pass as they went, that he entered into a certain town: and a certain woman named Martha, received him into her house.Factum est autem, dum irent, et ipse intravit in quoddam castellum : et mulier quaedam, Martha nomine, excepit illum in domum suam, 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who sitting also at the Lord's feet, heard his word.et huic erat soror nomine Maria, quae etiam sedens secus pedes Domini, audiebat verbum illius. 40 But Martha was busy about much serving. Who stood and said: Lord, hast thou no care that my sister hath left me alone to serve? speak to her therefore, that she help me.Martha autem satagebat circa frequens ministerium : quae stetit, et ait : Domine, non est tibi curae quod soror mea reliquit me solam ministrare? dic ergo illi ut me adjuvet. 41 And the Lord answering, said to her: Martha, Martha, thou art careful, and art troubled about many things:Et respondens dixit illis Dominus : Martha, Martha, sollicita es, et turbaris erga plurima, 42 But one thing is necessary. Mary hath chosen the best part, which shall not be taken away from her.porro unum est necessarium. Martha, sister of Mary Magdalen and Lazarus, lived at Bethany a humble active life. She often gave hospitality to our Lord. According to one account they ended their days at Marseilles---St Lazarus as Bishop, St Mary Magdalen and anchoress, St Martha as head of a small community of holy women.

1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be like to ten virgins, who taking their lamps went out to meet the bridegroom and the bride.Tunc simile erit regnum caelorum decem virginibus : quae accipientes lampades suas exierunt obviam sponso et sponsae. 2 And five of them were foolish, and five wise.Quinque autem ex eis erant fatuae, et quinque prudentes : 3 But the five foolish, having taken their lamps, did not take oil with them:sed quinque fatuae, acceptis lampadibus, non sumpserunt oleum secum : 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with the lamps.prudentes vero acceperunt oleum in vasis suis cum lampadibus. 5 And the bridegroom tarrying, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made: Behold the bridegroom cometh, go ye forth to meet him.Media autem nocte clamor factus est : Ecce sponsus venit, exite obviam ei. 7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.Tunc surrexerunt omnes virgines illae, et ornaverunt lampades suas. 8 And the foolish said to the wise: Give us of your oil, for our lamps are gone out. 9 The wise answered, saying: Lest perhaps there be not enough for us and for you, go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 Now whilst they went to buy, the bridegroom came: and they that were ready, went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut. 11 But at last come also the other virgins, saying: Lord, Lord, open to us.Novissime vero veniunt et reliquae virgines, dicentes : Domine, domine, aperi nobis. 12 But he answering said: Amen I say to you, I know you not.At ille respondens, ait : Amen dico vobis, nescio vos. 13 Watch ye therefore, because you know not the day nor the hour.Vigilate itaque, quia nescitis diem, neque horam. St Mary Magdalen consecrated her virginity to Christ at the age of ten; she was a Carmelite, famous for her visions. Her motto was To suffer and not to die. She died A.D. 1607.

This story is found in John 20—21. Mary Magdalen goes to the tomb, finds the stone rolled away, and dashes off to tell Simon Peter and another disciple. The two disciples run to the tomb themselves. They both notice graveclothes, but no corpse. The other disciple believed, but what he believed is unspecified. They then go home. Mary stays around and enters the tomb, whereupon she sees two angels. They want to know why she is crying. Right then Jesus appears, but is not recognized by Mary. Eventually, they speak and she recognizes him. She reports this to the other disciples. Later that day Jesus appears to the other disciples, showing them his hands and feet. They are pleased, but say nothing. Thomas is there later but doubt their report that Jesus is alive. He wants evidence. More than a week later, Jesus is with the disciples again, this time Thomas is present. Though invited to touch Jesus' wounds, Thomas declares, “My Lord and my God.” In the last scene, Jesus prepares a breakfast of fish and bread for the disciples. Jesus' offering of breakfast imitates Jesus previously feeding the multitude with fish and bread. The scene concludes when Jesus asks three times whether Peter loves him. Jesus says as much three times in response. Keep in mind that Peter had once betrayed Jesus by denying that he knew him three times.
Now there stood by the cross of Jesus, his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalen.
And on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalen cometh early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre; and she saw the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
But Mary stood at the sepulchre without, weeping. Now as she was weeping, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre,Maria autem stabat ad monumentum foris, plorans. Dum ergo fleret, inclinavit se, et prospexit in monumentum : 12 And she saw two angels in white, sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been laid.et vidit duos angelos in albis sedentes, unum ad caput, et unum ad pedes, ubi positum fuerat corpus Jesu. 13 They say to her: Woman, why weepest thou? She saith to them: Because they have taken away my Lord; and I know not where they have laid him.Dicunt ei illi : Mulier, quid ploras? Dicit eis : Quia tulerunt Dominum meum : et nescio ubi posuerunt eum. 14 When she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing; and she knew not that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus saith to her: Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, thinking it was the gardener, saith to him: Sir, if thou hast taken him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.Dicit ei Jesus : Mulier, quid ploras? quem quaeris? Illa existimans quia hortulanus esset, dicit ei : Domine, si tu sustulisti eum, dicito mihi ubi posuisti eum, et ego eum tollam. 16 Jesus saith to her: Mary. She turning, saith to him: Rabboni (which is to say, Master).Dicit ei Jesus : Maria. Conversa illa, dicit ei : Rabboni ( quod dicitur Magister). 17 Jesus saith to her: Do not touch me, for I am not yet ascended to my Father. But go to my brethren, and say to them: I ascend to my Father and to your Father, to my God and your God.Dicit ei Jesus : Noli me tangere, nondum enim ascendi ad Patrem meum : vade autem ad fratres meos, et dic eis : Ascendo ad Patrem meum, et Patrem vestrum, Deum meum, et Deum vestrum. 18 Mary Magdalen cometh, and telleth the disciples: I have seen the Lord, and these things he said to me.Venit Maria Magdalene annuntians discipulis : Quia vidi Dominum, et haec dixit mihi.
The reality of the resurrection is exposed by the followers of Jesus starting with Mary Magdalen and then John and Peter. Breaking down some of the evidence we can see how Jesus left clues for his followers but they were still in the dark about Him being risen from the dead until he actually appeared to them.
And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalen, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought sweet spices, that coming, they might anoint Jesus. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee; there you shall see him, as he told you.Sed ite, dicite discipulis ejus, et Petro, quia praecedit vos in Galilaeam : ibi eum videbitis, sicut dixit vobis.
And in the end of the sabbath, when it began to dawn towards the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalen and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre.

DAY 232 CHALLENGE “The Gospels contradict each other about which women went to Jesus' tomb.” DEFENSE The Gospels simply record different details. The following women are mentioned as going to the tomb: Mary Magdalen and the “other Mary,” who is identified as “the mother of James and Joseph” (Matt. 28:1; cf. Matt. 27:56, 61) Mary Magdalen, Mary the mother of James, and Salome (Mark 16:1) Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them (Luke 24:10) Mary Magdalen (John 20:1) For a contradiction to exist, one Gospel would have to assert a particular woman …
